  1. Something I have been wanting to achieve before I completely put zombies away. Reaching round 30 without downs on a few maps. So far got Ascension, COTD, Moon, Der Riese, Town, Die Rise, and MOTD. Did Five tonight with Rizzy's help, perhaps the toughest to accomplish of them all. Still want to do Farm, Kino and Origins.
  2. Just had one of my best games on Five with Rizzy. Thank you sir.

  3. Hi, it's the boring guy here. Those that know me know that I like to make my points with real stories. Here we go. Was in a game with three Mic randoms on Five, high rounds 34, 35, and 38. I was told to turn on my Mic or they would leave. I did as told but noted that I'm not Mic friendly. Why is having a Mic a priority? I feel that I can be just as reliable without Mic and have a great sense of feel for what should be done. My two best games on Five were with micless cooperative randoms who know how to play the team game. Besides, most Mic randoms deserve to be muted, and personally I enjoy the likes of Dane Cook, Russel Peters, and Chris Rock while playing. Real team players watch what you do and complement you, pretentious losers ask you to cooperate with them. On round 5 I was asked to go down to the war room with them. I kindly declined as I like to stay on top. I did not see a major difference in where we camp on round 5. If you need me to babysit you this early, perhaps we should just end the game. On round 7 I was asked to join them as they are ready to turn on the power. At that point I had already opened the elevator debris (1000), but was asked to open two more for the simple fact that I had a lot more. I told them I would do one debris plus the Bowie door, but was replied with "what will you do with your points if we don't revive you?". I was told I was a jack ass for refusal to be generous. One guy goes down early and quit as soon as he hit the floor. I shake my head when that happens. Most of us know how to handle success. We know how to play when things are going well. But the true winners, the true gamers know how to handle failure. The best players, the most successful handle failure just as well. That's the biggest difference between a winner and a loser. The same hold true in real life. Not often do we see everything go smoothly. Those who adjust and adapt are likely to sit on top. I have rage quitted many times in my life, but never because I'm about to lose my ray run. Thanks for reading. Maybe vote me for UOTM. Just kidding.
  4. Who's up for BO1 tonight? My favorite map is Five but open to anything.

  5. Hello MegaAfroMan. I have always respected you as a person and valued your priceless opinions. Your partially excellent post today was statistically perfect in portraiting our experiences as a survivor in the world of zombies. It geometrically analyzed us in the trenches hoping to forever save the world. Your ability to see the big picture will one day empower you over other nerds. But your bologna is lacking the truth. Doing the same crap everyday and hope for better results is the ultimate American Dream. A guy on the 4th date may not get lucky, but it's the possibility that it may happen that drives him. An athlete on a shitty team may be optimistic about the upcoming season, even though the chances are slim. It is the hope, the unknown, that secretly fuel our curiosity and our drive to do the same shit tommorrow. Every game we play, it is the failure, not the result, that drives us. Everytime we falter, we light another match in our fire of desire. Everytime we stumble, we add propane to our fire of desire. It is the emptiness that make us come back to another game, not fulfillment. You play the game again for the process, not the result. I expected better from you, but this misstep will only make you stronger, and wiser. The boring guy.
  6. I am married to Mustang and Sally. It is the best situational weapon in all of zombies.
  7. I like many of the ideas presented. However, I'm hoping Treyarch go back to the simple yet fun concept from BO1. Before the release of BO1, many people, myself included, wanted to see less teammate dependency and Treyarch made it happen for us. What we didn't envision, was that BO2 became too much of a solo game game that it was a lot less entertaining than BO1, at least for me. Origins and MOTD are arguably the two most complex and detailed maps to date, but probably among the two least fun coop maps. I would love to see Treyarch go back to the simple team concept gameplay we saw in BO1. Camping together, playing alongside, or strategizing together trying to survive.
  8. The biggest difference for me between the two are playing solo/ playing coop. BO1 was a lot of fun for me coop, for two years I couldn't resist the game because every single game feels different with the different guys you play with. Except for NML, BO1 solo offer little rewards compared to coop. BO2 by far was a solo map. I played solo majority of the time for a few reasons. Besides Town and Farm, we rely too heavy on our team that it becomes a burden to coordinate the team. Ranking also factors into it, that playing solo is the faster and safer way to shotguns. The rage quitting was further magnified in BO2 because games no longer count as soon as the first quit. This game is better coop, at least for me. For the next game, I hope Treyarch spends more time developing not the in game details, but how to further addict us into the world of zombies. Not with easier map, not with better wonder weapons, not with more scenic graphics, but with better player interactions within the game.
  9. Hmm, I wonder how @12_yr_old_virgin (aka @ - Jay) feels about this? A mid thirties, successful business professional & possibly one of the smartest guys on CoDz, but when he has an internet handle, he becomes a total troll. PS - why is this in the Black Ops forum? When it comes socializing and interactions, how one acts almost completely depends on his or her target audience. There is absolutely no need to be coherent and professor-esque when you are on PSN and/or CODZ. In fact, I act like an ass/jerk/immature/dick mostly because I do not get to be one elsewhere. Good topic though, very relevant and very interesting.
  10. Rule 1-a : If the player with the most points has the least kills, they are free to do what the fuck they want. I'm with Mega and Chopper on this rule. I always hated being the guy asked to open more than my share of doors simply because I have been more frugal with my assets. I'll contribute my share, but I refuse to conserve points just for you.
  11. I'm like Pyscho, except I gave up sooner. Mustang and Sally is the prefers weapon. On 32, 6 shots will handle a full horde. Town is fairly easy, but the hordes take too long to be enjoyable.
  12. I would not like it Even though BO2 introduced many new exciting features, BO1's gaming mechanism is superior, and more enjoyable for me. Sure the new perks and such will make the maps easier, but the challenge factor gets compromised. Side note: when are you dropping Final Fantasy to play some zombies with me?
  13. There has to be a better way. The opportunity cost is too great. Chopper, Infesto, and HW are sacrificing their family for this. We should start exploring options before the wells run dry.
  14. Walking my dog now, but will be on PSN with Psycho in an hour. Anyone want to join us for some zombies?

  15. Thank you Daniel for providing shelter But how long can you continue to do it? Do you feel it's justified?
  16. For me SNN, Kino, and Shang. Absolutely no interest, I can't explain it. Origin, Nuketown, and Tranzit on BO2. Very much blah for me. MOTD for a while I complete avoided, then played it exclusively, now back to the dog house. Buried on a level of its own, the most boring map ever created. But it's easy. Die rise I'm not very fond of either, but I love it for stat patching. Five I never get bored. It's my favorite by far.
  17. Anyone want to go all night this Friday? We could try reaching round gazillion.

  18. Great format, and good to see strategy guides. However, most of us can reach 30+ on Ascension with our eyes closed fantasizing Jessica Alba and Lady Gags. I thought the guide was just ok, and very basic in terms of results. I would like to see a guide with quicker rounds and require less skills. BTW add me on PSN, maybe I can teach you how to go down a lot and in style.
  19. I feel I have gained valuable pointers reading this. All joke aside, where is the "strategy?"
  20. Anyone like cars? I was in NYC for their annual auto show a week ago and perhaps the best show in years. Many new models or models with drastic makeovers. Anyways, we have posted many ideas and thoughts on what we would like to see. Subsequently, I think it may not be a horrible idea to post things we hope not to see. It's like any relationship, it helps to know what works and what ticks. 1. Better map design-more accurately in terms of game play. Give us the option to camp or train with most maps. No more Die Rise or Buried, where moving around in the map mid-round becomes taxing and deadly. Wall weapon placements were just awful. Better organization on map details in terms of gameplay. 2. Boring weapons- the zombie game has evolved, and the weaponry should adjust with it. No more iconic WW2 weapons that are outdated. Give us chainsaw, axe, and other iconic "zombie weapons". No more similar weapons in different names. Give us variety and tactical. 3. Leaderboards- take the strengths of both BO1 and BO2 Leaderboards and combine them. Minus the headaches of both. Make it random-friendly, meaning minimizing the impacts of noobs and rage quitting. 4. Less dependant on traps or Wonder weapons- One thing BO2 trumps over BO1 was the efficiency of rounds without traps or WWs. 5. Better stories-BO2 storyline was weak, with some attachments to BO1. Hire Steven King and let him devise the drama behind the game. 6. Side quests-Crushing debris with Leroy was juvenile, feeding the dogs was stupid and annoying, so were other similar quests. Make it more along the lines of the golden spork, blue skulls, or the COTD Easter Egg. 7. Banks or weapon locker-Completely changes the games and how we approach them. 8. Perma perks-They were ok, but played too big of a role. I like to see them eliminated or reduced. 9. Boring characters-I love the BO1 characters. The quotes are either funny or significant. BO2 characters were mostly blah. Except for MOTD. Thanks for reading. Enjoy your Thursday.
  21. Is it awful that I'm commenting just to be on the featured topic of the week? Great analysis and worthy of TOTW. Two big wins in the same week, you should play the lotto.

  23. Just hit 42 on Five with a random on Xbox. We didn't use mics, yet seemed to have great chemistry knowing what each other wanted to do. First 30 rounds took a hour, but the next 12 needed 3 1/2 hours. I was dead tired and had to call it quits on 41. My high is 45 on PSN, but I was pretty much carried. This one I earned.
  24. I am pretty sure I'm at the minority here, but I absolutely hate mics on random lobbies. It is a different story if I'm playing with guys on here or going for something serious, but for the most part with randoms I tune them out completely with comedy. To me 99% of the people who use them abuse the privilege to be heard. Guys who play commander, guys who asks for cooperations beyond normality, guys who play DJs, guys who fail to maintain the conversions to brief, among many others who annoy the heck out of me. Only once in a blue moon do I get an individual who uses the mic properly the way it is intended to. Playing this game, I feel I have good enough sense of what you are trying to achieve and go with the flow, or survive on my own if I so choose. I feel I can be just as effective with out it, or not let it be an issue. Games with objectives or with friends are obviously different, I would have my mic ready and yap away. Do I prefer a mic only lobby? Sure, just so I be on the other side.
  25. Anyone still on Easter Break? Feel like going for something serious tommorrow.
