Well welcome to the community officially lad! It's great to have you with us, and I can't wait to see you around more (and more and more and more cause you've probably already seen a good amount of us by now, haha). :D

diner maybe part of ee ?????? pls read and give thoughts
InfestLithium replied to carlsmith594's topic in TranZit
I'm not going to say that is has nothing to do with the Easter Egg, but I don't believe the lights have anything to do with it. If we go by the logic of the Diner apparently having power, then we can assume the same for the Bus Depot or Town. Essentially, however, the Diner is quite important if you consider having to use the streetlight in front of the shed for the Maxis portion of the Easter Egg. Other than that, I can't really see anything more to further the story in Diner. -
Did anyone think what Jimmy Zielinski said was important?
InfestLithium replied to bloodfurn's topic in TranZit
Most likely that if you played Moon and understood what was going on story-wise, then you'll more than likely understand what has become of Earth and what will be in the future for zombies. As we know, the missile from Moon were launched and has created what we now call post-apocalyptic Earth today. -

First off, I'd like to say welcome to the community! Enjoy your stay! Second, most of us know about this already (in fact, I'm for certain very aware that everyone knows about this). Nevertheless, you never know when someone who is completely new to this stumbles in and doesn't acknowledge the benefits of exploring the map "fully" like you stated. Good reminder though!

It's just a quicker way of dying, from what I know. Considering that it only happens when you go down with the Tombstone perk, timing is important when getting back your stuff. If I remember, it was something like 5 minutes.
-
The vault door does not close unless you exit the PaP hallway. The game would be way too easy if you only had to hold down four barricades and basically unlimited ammo for your guns.

Can't be I have a skull with a knife and I have never even touched the EEs. I believe he means that you can progress further into the Easter Egg if you meet a certain rank. But even then, ranks are only a display of statistics and to what rating you would be considered based on those numbers. I can't see being a Skull w/ shotguns having the ability to "complete" the whole Easter Egg if there were even any more steps as of now.
-
It's worth a shot, actually. It'll be tedious but hey - aren't we known to explore all the unknowns? Now all I need is a good EE team...
-
I don't think the system ignores the data purposefully, if that is the case. Perhaps it just does not know how to display the data w/ over 10k kills so it erases itself by default?

"Permanent" earnables... no longer permanent?! (proof)
InfestLithium replied to Megaton A's topic in TranZit
So I was spraying down some freakbags around Diner, and got a green spark. I have no idea what it's for. I just created my new XBox account, so I don't exactly have high stats. We were only at Round 11 at the time, and only had 178 kills at the time, with 80 headshots. I got my headshot "skill" later in the game though. -
Interesting things I have found in Tranzit on my own
InfestLithium replied to DavesFuckingShitUp's topic in TranZit
Welcome to the forum lad! And very nice observations; a lot of what you mentioned has already been discussed about, but not to great lengths. - The windmills are interesting. I never saw them, but I'll check on 'em. How the bus enters, I believe is actually how the bus came to Green Run. - The skulls seem like decor, but for once in a zombies map, it doesn't make sense as to where these skulls came from. Seems kinda cannibalistic to me, yes? You mention that it's monkey skulls as well. Could this further the idea that Denizens were originally monkeys? And even so, why would there be their skulls in a cabin? We really need to explore that cabin to find any clues as to why it's there. - Sedan billboard...I know it's mentioned quite a few times in a topic somewhere. Try looking here: viewforum.php?f=100 - Connection to PaP and Power? Then you do believe like me! I always assumed there was some "path" between them since powering the vault door at the power bunker opens the way to PaP. Even though this is probably not significant to the story whatsoever, this should still be researched. - It doesn't seem like they can be accessed. Maybe the number machines need to be activated in some order/after a particular step? - I don't think the train vault doors can open up, but the only speculation I can infer is it having to do with the door-opening sound after activating the T.V. at Farm. Even if they could open up, what exactly would be there considering it's all bunked in the fog? - The weird pictures still need explaining. The one with the pillar tower refers to the Tower of Babble Easter Egg (hence the picture being a shot of the original Tower of Bable). The burning building seems like the destruction of Earth immediately after the rockets from Moon hit. The ear one is...rather weird. Perhaps it refers to the voices of Maxis and Richtofen being heard from the crew. These are still good finds - keep 'em coming! -
Do you have a screenshot or a clip of it? I have never heard of, nor seen this "red beam of light". But if what you say is true, it could be relevant about the 2nd floor of the bank.

First off, I'd like to say welcome to the community! You'll love it here - I promise you or your ammo back. Second, great post - content like this will make you a valuable member to the community. Keep up the good work! Third, there are many threads like this. You can find more information in threads such as: viewtopic.php?f=136&t=25628 viewtopic.php?f=100&t=25727 The ranking system is a bit awkward, I won't deny. But thank you for your post! I'm sure this will further our evidence as to how the system truly works. :D

My Thoughts on Zombies Thus Far
InfestLithium replied to perfectlemonade's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I'm not sure why most people are nagging to Treyarch about how much BO2's zombies kinda sucks. To be perfectly honest, they already had hordes of noobish and professional gamers whining in BO about how zombies is always the same besides a new map and Wonder Weapons. They're trying their hardest to meet all the regular players' demands as well as ours, the devoted community bent on piecing together the background story behind zombies. Let's discuss maps. Green Run is actually a very spacious map when you think about it. Sure, some people don't consider the dog to be an actual part of the map, just a way to challenge players and make running from station to station worse. Nevertheless, if it's in the game, it's part of the map. I mean, we have a shortcut, Proto-type of NDU, the Tower, streetlights, the cabin in the woods, and tunnel. Consider that all these things are what lies in the fog. If I were to emphasize the originality of dispersing Green Run to make only three viable places as playable stand-alone maps, then I'd have to half-heartily agree with the community. The maps are rather tiny, and not necessarily too roomy either (hell, even NDU seems bigger than these). It doesn't mean that one cannot achieve high rounds though; in fact, it's actually easy in a sense of surviving yet gives the challenge that if you screw up somewhere, you better have your zombie panties on. These mini-maps [as I'll refer to them] may not be top-notch map choices, but they're adequate enough to satisfy the general zombie slayer. Let's mosey down to modes. Yes yes, we all know how disappointed you are about the selection of modes. Let's see here...we have Tranzit (Survival), Grief (Team Survival), and Survival (Midget Survival). Let's do a very quick breakdown. - Tranzit is nothing more than our typical zombie survival map, with the added fog and stations to create a sense of a big map. It may be nowhere as close to CotD or Moon, but it is still considered a large size. The differences between this mode and all the others are: + Build-ables + Bus/transport + New characters + Pack-a-Punch (excluding Town) + Easter Egg + Few wall weapons + Jet Gun Most people would say that just one or two of these things really separate Tranzit from the common Survival map, but there are it's original differences. To me, this mode is great with its variety and challenge. - Grief is under attack almost everyday by gamers. Some call it a team effort that situates the player to gain the help of other players while defeating another team in order to survive. Others call it a madhouse where your teammates may make or break a great game while using childish tactics that are not even worthy of making the mode called "Grief". In all honesty, I do have to agree with the second argument. Grief is nothing more than a two-team survival where players generally dick around with one another. But the goal does remain the same: only one team can win. That being said, what 3arc has given us is an average survival mode with the ability to step all over the other team. It puts trolling to its higher usage and can actually be hilarious when you understand the game mechanics. As for now, it is of fair rating (below adequate) and probably will be until further objects are implemented. - Survival is...well, survival. The only difference here is that our maps are the same size as those of Grief. Just your average zombie survival map. Needless to say, this mode is adequate for players who want to recollect their inner slayer like the good ol' days. Now the ranking system...there are a billion threads about this, so I'll keep this cute and simple. Adding statistics, giving players ranks/emblems to display a player's success in zombies, implementing theater mode, and awarding seemingly "permanent" perks when doing a great job in-game are great ideas. Not allowing others' statistics to show, sudden dropping of ranks, rounds not counting when a player leaves the game, misunderstanding of how the ranking system works (yet refusing to even give a broad hint as to the guidelines) are bad ideas. Got it memorized? Overall, I wouldn't call the present-day modes a huge success, but I wouldn't call them letdowns either. Treyarch tried their best to deliver what we all wanted in one sitting. It's not a easy task to accomplish here, guys. Just like it has in BO, Bo2 zombies will get only better and better. Before you know it, you'll eventually walk around saying "Y'know, Treyarch did a damn good job in this installment of zombies". -
Good thoughts on that, I see someone has been paying attention to detail on the quotes! Now of course, the Maxis EE portion is without a doubt going to be a Continued Easter Egg, since Richtofen's side has practically ended with you giving him the power he has needed. Keep in mind Maxis had stated that he needs other spires to be activated the same way without the use of killing zombies (since it powers up Richtofen more so than aiding Maxis). Might I suggest you take a look into this thread: viewtopic.php?f=136&t=25415 It better explains how there's a prolonged series to Maxis's side.
-
It would be really nice to get some kind of visual for this...I'm going to re-do the EE on Richtofen's side tomorrow and see if I get the same results. Every time I have done it though, I see nothing but the energy waves arising into the atmosphere and into space from the tip of the Tower. Any orbs that I generally notice are the red lights that could be mistaken for orbs. EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2lkxRKkTCI If you look towards 3:10, there's nothing but electricity shooting up the tower. No orbs in sight.
-
Could you get a snapshot of it for us? I'm not sure if you're mistaking it for the electric sparks spurting out of the tower as a result of the EE.
-
Actually, if you're under the spire the pieces will collapse all right where you broke it. I tested this numerous times when attempting the Richtofen EE, and the pieces were scrambled into the corner. Perhaps it was because I overheated the obelisk like intended, or it was due to the game assuming that the area under the spire was big enough to contain all the bits of pieces.
-
It's the energy sent from the Tower to the Aether to power Richtofen. It does it after you complete his side of the Easter Egg.
-
I highly doubt it can open anything, really. The jet engine sucks all and anything into its path, which forces it to overheat very quickly. Considering this, unless there is a magic switch somewhere that needs to be sucked in to be opened, I'm calling it nothing more than a simple rumor. If you have details as to where exactly to attempt this, however, it certainly is worth a try in the least bit.
-
Actually, I just noticed it when playing a game on my original account. I can't provide a clip of what I experienced, but here's how the scenario played out: In mid-round during a public match with three randoms, and we're all bunched close together in town. One guy on the team had kept downing himself over the pool of lava in the middle trying to escape across, so I would hop over and use my quick-revive ability. One instance, I was training in the bar and suddenly I heard some kind of zap+wind-down sound just like the OP mentioned. Sure enough, I go to revive that said teammate a few minutes later and I don't have my QR ability anymore. I really want to say it has something to do with your stats...but considering I did not go down (until the end of the game) and I had around 11 revives, it can't possibly be it.
-
No no, you're not crazy! While the song does fit in very nicely, I highly doubt they based Tranzit off of it. From how Treyarch has done it in the past, they make a map and enhance the storyline before implementing a soundtrack suitable for both game playing and direct story telling. What they were already planning to do was add A7X's Carry On (hell - even Sirius Octane Radio kept stating how it was going to be exclusive to BO:II Zombies Mode). Something happened, and a last minute decision quickly switched out A7X to Kevin Sherwood's Carrion. I really don't believe that they could base a whole game especially to just one song - it would most likely be the other way around.

Already been said and done. Nothing happens.
