Naughty @GRILL, you should've gotten it for PC. :(

    Greetings

Hey @ good call on the reintroduction. Glad we can have you back more often, sorry about the job though (but I guess seasonally laid off is better than fully laid off, right?)
  3. Anyone see that PC port of FF7 Sony just announced? Such a fail, but the memes coming out of it are excellent

Haha, yeah I heard about that. The one guy built it up so much. What a let down for the fans.

I think I am one of the few that doesn't want a HD remake. Anything they do will just not live up to the extremely high expectations.

Plus I gotta respect their opinion that they won't make it at least until an FF surpasses it. Because that will essentially be the end all be all of FF.

Man they should do 6, 8 or 9, against popular belief 7 is the weakest of that group :)

  4. Craig changed my name as a joke, and then everyone was like "well I guess it's time to jumble names again". I'm such a trendsetter :D

Yes and it makes these awards that much more complicated. Thanks Craig.

It's very complicated when nominating one of you who have changed your name. Using the @function will revert when a name is changed, but if you quote someone, the name stays the same.

  5. Welcome to CODZ! Nice vulture aid avatar! Please do enjoy your stay, and let us know if we can be of any help.
  6. Okay okay okay, how about this - they have to have been a member for 3 years to be considered towards induction. No guarantee - still based on a scale of what they, as an individual, have done for CODZ. I actually agree with @ in regards to the UOTM. let's leave UOTM out of this running.
  7. Traded in the piece of garbage Master Chief Collection while I could still get the majority of my money back. What a letdown. On the upside I know own Dragons Age: Inquisition :D

  8. 4/30 Update: Leonard Reiffel In the BO3 "Only the Cursed Survive" poster, there is a cityscape at the bottom which has been revealed to be Chicago (thanks to @PINNAZ ) It got me to researching Chicago, and it's notable citizens whom could possibly relate to the zombies storyline. There was an individual by the name of Leonard Reiffel, and the man has collaborated with members of Operation Paperclip. Specifically (borrowing from wiki), "Reiffel collaborated with German scientists recruited in America as part of Operation Paperclip, working on an early prototype for a railgun." At the University of Chicago's Institute for Nuclear Studies, Reiffel helped construct a Cyclotron (high energy beam, particle accelerator). Imagine how shocked I was to learn that Leonard Reiffel led Project A119 - the plan to detonate a nuclear warhead on the moon. (more information on Project A119 Below) Reiffel also was a consultant to NASA on the Apollo program about the chance of there being life on the Moon (he later became deputy director of the "life on the moon" project). Will Chicago have any significance, other then a location? Hard to say. If we're able to time travel, anythings possible - even going through with Project A119 (whatever that would achieve). Regardless, Reiffel's connection the Moon, and the nazis is interesting. Just food for thought, really. There you have it, a plan to blow up the Moon. One could only imagine there may be ulterior motives behind such a test. Here is the full document: http://nsarchive.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/NSAEBB479/docs/EBB-Moon02.pdf I've not gotten to reading it yet.
  9. Thanks @Covert Gunman I knew you'd be able to help us out with the specifics In the Hall of Fame description we have, it actually does not list being staff/retired staff as a requirement: When you see a "Hall of Famer", you are seeing an exceptional user who has added to CODZ in monumental ways. Each individual is different, and it's quite hard to sum it up in once sentence - but basically anyone with this title has brought excellence & progress to CODZ in the form of content, back end work, overall presence, and knowledge. When writing the description - I tried to keep the focus is on the individual being exceptional. But I can totally see how it's too vague. Perhaps (on top of workshopping the description), we could create some sort of a thread that has a log of what the Hall of Famer's have done? We could put a link in the description for people to go to the page, and view all the reasons for each individual Hall of Fame member. I'm all for some more requirements for Veteran status, the whole idea of 4 years was off the cuff to begin with. So like, throw in some post count, brains, UOTM, that kind of stuff? Or are we going to use criteria beyond the numbers (Mason)? That's a good point @ - I think that a balance of new active inductees, and inductees (like MMX, Shooter, etc.) who have (seemingly) "moved on" from CODZ is the way to go. Everyone's happy. That's just my opinion though, we'll have to here from virtually all other staff (on this) - and it will certainly be prioritized at our next meeting as a topic of discussion.
  10. GRILL

    Konnichiwa!

Welcome sir! Looking forward to seeing you around the site. Enjoy the stay (even though you've been here awhile) :D
  11. @MixMasterNut yeah, I sort of got at that a little bit in my above post when I said that ideally new inductee's will be active members. We as a staff didn't feel it was our place to remove anyone already "grandfathered" under the previous Legendary (currently HoF) listing. I can say that I never knew many of them, but they were put there for a reason - and we are going to respect that. Our two active Hall of Famer's are Phantom & Alpha, and I'd love to add some more. We'll be having a staff meeting here pretty soon, and this subject will be prioritized for sure. Actually also, @Covert Gunman would be a good person to have in this conversation. Let's here what you think Covy, and also - if you could provide any context regarding the folks in the Hall of Fame usergroup (what they did for the site to become "legends") that would be awesome. EDIT: Since this has been brought up a few times now might as well give it some attention. I actually agree with PINNAZ on this. We used to have a usergroup back called "Veterans" dedicated to members that have been with CoDz since the very beginning. Perhaps there could be multiple ways to become a Veteran; - Be a member of CoDz for 3-5ish years - Retired CoDz staff member Whichever comes first. Also, don't worry. I intend to get started on the year-end awards soon @ @PINNAZ I like it. We need to nail down a singular value though, I think 4 years would be good - because currently we have medals for 1, 2 and 3 years on CODZ. And what's better than a medal? Usertitle. Usertitle for that 4th year. I'm all for it.
  12. Ideally, we want those in the HoF to be active members. Those are great suggestions @PINNAZ - it's just MMX & Shooter are seemingly "done" with CODZ. I don't think we should induct anyone who hasn't been active in a certain amount of months. Maybe like 6 months? I dunno, maybe that's too harsh considering the off season. Still - MMN, the vets, and even yourself have stuck around. HoF should be role models, and the #1 priority of being a role model here is being "CODZ Faithful". Again, that's not to label the non-active candidates as "unfaithful" - it's just, if your HoF you've got to have the whole package (at this point)
  13. Damn, over $125 in ad revenue for the past 3 months. Hell yeah, CODZ!

  14. 'Tis the season for Christmas Avatars. Share yours in the member lounge thread!

  15. Yeah, that was my bad kinda. I wrote up those definitions not too long ago, and we just haven't implemented it yet into the site (i'm thinking it will be under "members" as a fly out, kind of like how under "medals" we have "zombification" as a fly out.) Here is a standalone page though, in the meantime: http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/index.php/page/usertitles.html Do you all like our definitions?
  16. Hello sir! Welcome to CODZ, and do please enjoy your stay.
  17. @ yeah that's why I was suggesting we could poll for the option to either have the avatar "Like" count opt-out, or remove entirely. Personally I dig the "Likes", it will help with UOTM nominations as well - seeing as they will (ideally) be handed out much more frequently. We are a zombies site, and we are also a community. The point of having both is to have the brains for zombie related stuff, and the "likes" for community stuff. We have way more community stuff going on right now (because off season) in relation to zombies stuff, so we wanted to appeal to that and nurture our tight-knit family here. I say "family" because furreals, you're all my fam. I visit this place daily, I have for years - and I'm an adult. I'm not ashamed, I feel "at home" on CODZ. And now I can get "likes" for just chilling around talking with my fam at home? Awesome.
  18. Welcome back sir! I could never forget Ash's grinning face :D
  19. Okay we can put a poll to see if people want the "like count" or not in the avatar section, if y'all like. I get that brains and likes are similar but im going to reiterate the difference. Ideally (and I know it's not always like that) brains are for posts and threads that clearly are backed by research, effort, and knowledge. Typically this would be for a zombie theory, or a terrific map guide, or a well thought out story/map idea, etc. Likes are for humorous, entertaining, off topic, whatever really. Less about knowing your stuff, and more about just thinking something is cool, I dunno - does that make sense?
  20. Here's the old thread for ya http://callofdutyzombies.com/vBulletin/showthread.php?13906-Shi-No-Numa-is-in-China-Nikolai-was-Captured-There/ @Tac @ZombieOfTheDead - ACTUALLY, here's the old thread for yas (tac's link was broken) http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/index.php/topic/173591-shi-no-numa-is-in-china-nikolai-was-captured-there/
  21. "Like" feature is now live - go crazy and "Like" all your favorite posts! No rules like with "Brains", "Like" away!

  22. ATTENTION GENTLEFOLK OF CODZ: We have decided to implement a "Like" feature for content. It is only available to staff at the moment, but we want to give you a heads up so that as soon as we make it live, you can get to the "Like"-ing! You may remember this idea was tossed around a while back, and ultimately was scrapped. Why is it back, you ask? Excellent question! During the on-season, brains are hard to come by - but during the off season? Brains are pretty much non-existant! This isn't a bad thing, in fact it's in the nature of "Brains". "Brains" are intended for high quality posts that have clearly required research, theorization, and extraordinary effort. The fact of the matter is, it's the off-season, and there isn't a lot to pour research, theories and effort into. In comes "Likes" to save the day! We want you to "Like" anything, and everything. No rules, no nothing - if you see something you enjoy, "Like" it! Check out what it will look like below, provided by @Hells Warrrior Hopefully you all like the "Like" system. We still haven't decided if it will be a forum wide thing, probably. We aren't very concerned about "like-pumping" because "likes" don't equal reputation. Let us know what you think.
  23. @lead_psychopath I love that gif lol. It could indeed just be sediment from the area being drilled, bubbles didn't make sense anyway! @ nice post - I never even noticed the singular crater. I'll have to noodle and get back to you, don't have the time to respond as in depth as I want to. @Slade say what, b-boy?
  24. @ thanks for them bwains,GIRLL. Elaborate? why yes, yes I can. [cracks knuckles] Please pardon the rambling, but it's quite hard to respond to such a question without doing so. Oh also, don't be surprised if this happens to you : "It doesn't make much sense to me" <----- this is a perfect place to start. The whole reason I made this thread is because the Nuketown Zombies loading screen made no sense to me. The only true link between any past story elements is the 115 Extraction Drill, which apparently was technology accessible enough to be made in the early 1900's (however we really don't know what the hell ORIGINS is - and we don't know if ORIGINS occurs in the same timeline/dimension as Nuketown Zombies). Here are the factors that drove me to believe that the loading screen occurs in the future (also I'm using future loosely, all I'm really getting at is that I think it happens after the events of Nuketown Zombies): (please click here for a zoomable larger version of the loading screen if you want a closer look at what I'm talking about) 1. - Okay so here we have a 115 Drilling Device drilling a crater. Presumably, this is the crater from the 115 rocket that happens after Nuketown Zombies (because why would a 115 Drilling Device be needed for a nuclear crater?). The act of drilling the 115 crater can only occur once the 115 rocket collides with the earth, hence what's going on in the loading screen is in the near or distant future following the events of Nuketown Zombies. + The sky is blue, in Nuketown Zombies the sky is incredibly dark - and would only be made darker by the 115 rocket that comes at the end and seemingly blows it all to kingdom come. This means that whatever we are seeing in the loading screen must be happening well after the smoke and dust dissipated. + There is something MASSIVE attached to the 115 Drilling Device. A large space ship would be my first thought, considering it looks like it's just floating in mid air - but we've also had encounters with "larger then life" machines (such as the bucketwheel excavators from Moon) so it's hard to say for sure what is holding the 115 Extraction Drill in place: 2. - This being is wearing technology of a like we've never seen before. There are multiple breathing tubes coming from the helmet, it's certainly not the typical Government CDC suit - this is something different, futuristic, and possibly alien (in my opinion). This guy in the yellow jumpsuit is here for a purpose, he knows exactly where to go - what to do - how to work the extraction drill. This is an individual who perhaps is a time traveler, but whatever they are - they are well aware of what happened in Nuketown, and came prepared to get what they need. + Also, just realizing this now but there is without a doubt something (of possible importance) being reflected in yellow dude's helmet. Why do I see a Shangri-La temple? Perhaps I'm just seeing what I want to see, or what I think I might want to see... (this doesn't have anything to do with future stuff) + Also also, bubbles - anyone? Why bubbles? Seriously, the f***? (nothing to do with the future, either - sorry haha) 3. - Panel 3 is a mystery honestly. It looks as if the wing of a plane/spaceship, or perhaps the side of the giant structure holding up the 115 extraction device. When enlarged, you can clearly see a little squiggly square face on the ship - which means nothing, but is funny regardless. + In my humble opinion, Panel 3 is illustrating the spaceship peacing out after it's extracted all the 115 it needs. If you look at the negative space in the top left, it's dark blue - very "outer space". tl;dr = There is a crater, so we know this is post Nuketown. There is a 115 extraction device, so we know the crater has 115 and probably was made by one of the 3 115 rocket's. The 115 rockets hit Nuketown Zombies after you die in gameplay, HENCE - the loading screen depicts events that happen after Nuketown Zombies (i.e. in "the future" to when you are actually playing on the map in-game). ~~~ Having broken this down for you (the best I can), I've come across a couple questions of my own for you all: - why does this being need to be on the ground for the 115 extraction process? Why can't he just chill in his ship, and let the drill do it's thing? - is this being absorbing the 115 himself, as well as the device? (bottom left of large left panel). this could be the reason why yellow dude is on the ground while the 115 is being extracted. - is there more than one yellow-suit guy? It almost looks like 2 figures (below/slightly to the right of the red 1 in panel 1). I'd wager a spaceship/large machine large enough to have a 115 extraction device would require more than one operator. - the gum packet, which has already been brilliantly explained by @MixMasterNut , seems to indicate that there is time travel involved. We have a very 1950's bazooka joe-esque gum pack, which is named after the Aztec mythological God of the Dead, slapped over a comic book showing some futuristic crazy spaceship mineral extraction. Is this simply breaking the 4th wall, or does it mean something larger? Does it literally reference cross-timelines with altered histories? Were said "histories" altered by time travelers interfering with fixed points in time? How does the Aztec God of the Dead wind up on a pack of gum, unless history "as we know it" gets severely f***ed? This... is why it's hard to theorize about what "future" this loading screen exists in. With 115 being able to temporally displace anything in time, anything is possible. I could go in circles for hours - but at this point there is really is no way to explain the majority of elements that make up the zombies storyline. Anyway - thanks again for causing me to dig deeper. It's always exciting to consider new aspects.
