Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was confirmed to be in pre-production when Activision filed a counter suit against former Infinity Ward employees on April 9, 2010. It is said that the released date will be on November 9, 2011 .[19] On April 27, 2010 the game was also mentioned in a suit against Activision for forcing Infinity Ward to complete the game and for unpaid royalties.[20]

MW3 is probably not going to see the light of day due to the legal troubles between Activision and Respawn Studios (the former infinity ward). But even if they do release it becasue the original staff is gone it will not be good as the first or even the second.

This is legit, its old news though. Like deadshock said its likely that mw3 might not ever be published because IW is likely to be shut down. But i still have confidence in IW to make MW3 good. Part of me wants Respawn to win the battle though, cause they will make one hell of a modern warfare, but the drawback to that is that it probably wouldn't be published for another 5 years or so.

well we will not see anything from IW until 2012 because 2011 call of duty is being made by sledge hammer studios.

No its not, 2011 is modern warfare 3. Sledgehammer literally just moved into there studios 2 weeks ago, they dont even have a full staff yet. They would have 15 months to work on the game, thats not enough. I expect sledgehammer to release there game sometime between the regular call of dutys.

IW dosent have enough money 2 release a full game and even if they do they cant have any updates cuz they are low on money.

*FacePalm* How would you know if infinity ward is low on money? Besides Activison is the one that supplies IW. And im sure they are low on money, they only made a billion+ dollars from MW2.

LOL!

. . . infinity ward isn't going to be shut down, modern warfare 3 will, more than likely, unfortunately be released in 2011 by infinity ward.

The only thing that will happen is Activision and infinity ward will hire new people, and they have probably already started.

They didn't lose or keep the rights to anything, everything is owned by Activision.

Here is the deal:

The court case for Respawn Studios vs Activison will occur in May 2011

If Respawn CEOS win:

They get there share of MW2 profits

They get the rights to the "Modern Warfare" series

They get the rights to the "Call of Duty" series

Here is the quote of the court document:

"A)The despite the wrongful termination, plaintiffs continue to maintain creative and other contractually-granted control over all games under the Modern Warfare brand;

B) The defendants (Activision) may not commercially release another Modern Warfare game (Or Call of Duty game set in post-Vietnam era, near future or distant future) without the written consent of West and Zampella;

C) That, even if the termination of West and Zampella was legitimate, Activision owed on March 1, 2010 ("Termination Date") all royalties earned and/or vested by March 1,2010, including plantiffs' shares of all royalties for any game developed prior to March 1,2010 including, but not limited to, past and future bonuses of Modern Warfare 2, Technology bonuses, and Call of Duty bonuses as defined in the MOU"
