  1. Take your total kills and divide by your downs. This will give you a k:d ratio, a good indicator where in rank you should be. For example, i have 17959 kills and 242 downs. Divide this out i have a 74 kd ratio, my rank is a skull. As stated earlier other stats modify this but kd seems to be weighted pretty heavy. Leaderboard rank could also play a factor, just aim for steady 200 kill one down games. I played since day one, hence the atrocious downs. Ive been on the skull for what seems like forever, my k:d climbs by 3 or 4 every game. Solo tranzit is a blast, i just keep in mind kd and play things safer.
  2. I figured he didnt spawn in the tunnel. Ive gone 25 rounds without seeing him once. Also, i was playing with friends, and i was goin it alone in the tunnel when one of them went down. I went to help the other player and low and behold they were glitching in the power station. The avogadro was on the bottom level with him, so i dropped down and started knucking him. 2 hits, 3 hits, 16 hits later, still alive. So if your teammates go down at the power station, leave them.
  3. Probably just as easy as having any pap'ed weapon in the fridge? I got mustang and sally in there right now, waiting for a round 30+ game. The ray gun doesnt pay off until your in the 20's, even then id rather spit bullets. The box seems to pop it up pretty frequently. Anyways, i hope all these snippets lead to somthing, these signs always caught my attention.
  4. I dont particularily care about the rounds, just in solo to actually gather all the parts, takes about an hour or so. Add 20 minutes for jugg stam and knucks, its a shame i didnt just die earlier. And i think those black slabs are just the object without its texture. I do have my textures saved to hdd, it could be a read/write error on the ps3 and not the game. Non the less, if it was round 50 ( i doubt i would make it that far) i would not be happy. I just wanted to let everyone know, because the game literally was in slow motion for a whole round. I also notice spawning zombies would "grab" my camera, like as i approach them my character is forced to look at the zombie. It might be a mechanic we dont notice at regular speed, but i know everybody has that game were you run past a train with a mile of room, only to get pulled towards the horde to be double tapped by two zombies at once. Finally, in the slow motion round, your character cannot run over risers before they even rise. Before theres any indication that a zombie is rising. No dirt spray, head, arms, nothing. Its like hitting a wall, usually you look down to see the riser, but with slow mo black slab mode, it was so slow i could look down and watch him rise. This has been so frustrating for me because if its not there, i shouldnt be blocked. Im going to see if the theatre saved for the game. I doubt it but worth a shot. This issue itself revealed some mechanics in the game i never noticed. Also, whats up with the hit counters? I have 78xxx bullets fired and 74xxx hits. Im a good shot but 98% is impossible. Is it counting secondary hits, as in penetration hits? If thats the case 200-300% accuracy is obtainable, its just silly. Put a primary hit counter in, ill be at 200% in no time.
  5. Now i dont know if this problem has only happened to me, however last night i was playing tranzit on solo. I wanted to get far enough into the ee for it to save, so that i can do it with my friends, who are terrible at fog running and looking for the 2 sets of parts. I knew i had to do it anyways, so might as well get it done solo. Unfortunatly i was not samual, but did the steps anyways. Took the jet gun to the tower, blew it up, and the green lights were buzzing with green electricity. As far as i know, this is as far as i can go and the game would save. But, i had scored a hamr earlier so some tunnel training was in order to farm some points. It was getting late, i had already killed the electric zombie once. It was around round 18 or 19, so i pack a punched my hamr and an mtar just to be safe, banked the 20k i had, and went to the tunnel. Things were going great, those foregrips are a godsend for players like myself. Mashing points, doing good, feeling good. This is always a bad sign. Its round 23, i make a cutback i should have, and i get stuck trying to run by the horde. Luckily i have QR, and continue on till i have 2 left, and take off for town. I grab stam and jugg, and dump the earnings into bank. Its late by now, im at 800 or so kills, so i tell myself " get to a 1000 kills, bank, suicide". Off to the tunnel i go. But the storm seemed like the electric man was comming, which ive never seen in the tunnel. I get there and immediatly i knew there was somthing wrong. Alot of texture on the roadway were messed up. It looked like the ground was littered with black slabs, but no screenshot. I figured the game was acting up and considered a suicide, but i wanted that 1000 kills. I should have suicided. I kill the straglers, next round starts, and the framerate hits the floor. I managed to work with it killing 3 hordes, but the framerate stayed terrible. At 895 kills, i contemplate again bed or 1000. I again choose 1000, and try going to another location to see if it helps. No, i get to the edge of the tunnel and the framerate just stops, ps3 is locked up, and like a migrating host im bitchslapped for wasting my time. Now i realise round 24 is nothing spectacular, however i know alot of high end players use the tunnel for higher rounds. This is a warning, if theres black slabs everywere and your framerate hits the floor, kindly kill yourself in hopes the game will record your progress. ( it looks like stats are updated, my accuracy jumped from 92 to 98%. Ill go back and check if the navcard reader saved or the points in the bank, but if the game doesnt end theres no high round recorded.)
  6. Its highly inprobable in a 4 player game that everybody is goin to get a good gun, let alone a full loadout. Yet people still think its going to happen. I let my friends ride the box, have fun, with galvaknucks you dont even need the box until round 16-17.... I must have played 20 games before my friends started saving for knucks....now its our first priority, go figure. This cult has grown to envelop the PaP as well, with people dropping there bank savings on round 3 to have some insane advantage they cant compensate for once its gone.
  7. Obviously people have tried dropping the turbine at the vault to see if the door at the power station opens right? Thats the only area i can think of that might be "hidden".
  8. Ive ran into 3 or 4 kids that were convinced there was no pap, id be willing to bet this is what they are talking about.
  9. That just leads me to believe activision decided to use one song from avenged and save the rest. Not ready to die is the zombies song, activision probably scratched it last minute and avenged felt a little cheated, resulting in the last minute breakdown in relations. You can find parrallels in carry on, but the song doesnt reference samantha, killing zombies ect directly. Carry on is anthemic, not dark and ominous, like not ready to die. Id like to find out what happened, as NRTD is a fantastic zombies themed song.
  10. The tunnel is arguabley the largest area ever for training. Only the biodome rivals it in size, and has fewer emergency routes. Theres some issues concerning execution of these new ideas but tranzit really ramps up strategy and team work. I do feel solo for tranzit might be a little bit of a tipping on the scale, but high rounds are doable, and you just need a little luck.
  11. Wasnt carry on for campain and not ready to die for zombies? I mean they directly reference samantha, talks about zombies, ect? Carry on is more of an underdogs story, about fighting a loosing fight. Never the less, twilight zone is one of the best of golden earring, even radar love could be applied to tranzit, let alone any other song out there. This reminds me of the nostradomous effect, drawing similarities and asserting co-relation. I doubt activision would use a 40 year old song given they can hire a band now to write new material that is actually related. ( just looked up the lyrics to not ready to die, its cod zombies inspired 100%. The lyrics almost tangle at parts to sounding like hes saying 935.
  12. Theres lots of room for expansion in green run, and at least town could be expanded by making the bowling ally buyable, or adding new stops along the route. However seeing as we are given a world map, we could also see expansion outside of green run. The door is really wide open here, which is always dangerous. Peoples expectations have soft grounding, and will end up dissapointed. Not telling us enough is just as bad as knowing whats to come.
  13. Its my belief the ranks are a hardlined average of leaderboard ranks. All leaderboard ranks you have are pooled for an average overall rank. From here they group each rank in empiracal format, like 1-15000 is top rank, each subsequent rank is less and a larger number. Explains why even in low rounds people rank up, as 30-50 kills could jump your kill rank 5000 places. If be willing to bet if everyone averaged there rank on the leaderboards you would see a trend. How maps not played factors in im really not sure, as averaging a 0 is not possible, maybe a round 1 is used. Other non leaderboard related factors could also be at play, regarding tallys and eyes.
  14. In the few times ive played public, every host migration has failed. Very frustrating indeed.
  15. Should work well until it doesnt work well. Ive been trying to get to the tunnel after getting set-up. No drops if they are behind windows, and without mule kick ammo is alot tighter. Also theres a problem if a player gets down, hes probably going to get left behind. The pap room is great for camping with 4 players early on, just haul ass to the tunnel after 25.
  16. Give me back my ppsh. The first time i got the SMR i was pretty confused. Thought the game glitched and i was still using the 1911. But no, just the worst gun ever. Maybe make buildable boxes were you have to find guns hidden around the map, put them all together and craft the box? That might add some depth, kicking the standard box whores in the nuts. I guess 20-30 guns would be alot to find, but again just make the high tier guns the hardest to find.
  17. For the same reason they would nuke a city even if outbreak survivors are still alive. The good players will reach high rounds, and the 1000's of glitchers will be at the bottom as patches roll out. They arnt going to sift through that much data. Its just easier to reset everything than pick and choose legit scores. Youd be pretty mad if your score got unfairly rebuked, if some glitchers didnt.
  18. You havnt lived until you had a PaP and a WaW box to draw from. Black ops give us more variety in weapons, but the top guns were arguably weaker (excluding wunderweapons) id take a ppsh and an mg42 any day over everything else weve seen. I dont know whats next in dlc, but green run could be opened up more or more transit maps are also possible. Der Reise would be spectacular, as the final destination for the crew to get on the path to stopping richtofen. I still cant believe the ppsh hasnt made a reappearence, altough it was quite over powered.
  19. Great strategy, i think the end game strategy for tranzit once your setup is going to take place in the tunnel. Its the biggest area for training, the diner is right there, and you can catch the bus if you need somthing when it comes by, but wont completely screw the area up. A few friends had some good luck camping in the Pap room, i was on the main door and running around the town once and a while, but if everybody is set-up you probly will want more room. The electric boss trapped us, and its what makes camping that much harder. Im not much of a camper myself, im usually running trains but solo is not what it used to be and trying to explore the map online with friends has been the more productive venture. Also splitting areas seems to cause more chaos when people start going down. With the areas being so small a sudden down and a mass spawn will be an unfortunate end. Imagine mowing down your entire train in the diner just as another pair of teammates go down on the farm or in town. You will need to perform some serious kiting, as they spawn everywere. Spawns are more predictable in the tunnel. And the m16 is in there. Just gotta try it now.
  20. I was playing a friend online, and he had a friend on split screen. I got DC'ed, went back to lobby, joined his session in progress, the game was still going. Do the rounds count? I got DC'ed at round 2, and rejoined at round 3. This join game in session could make things crazy for the leaderboards, such as never ending games. Constantly recycling players back into the game when others leave.
  21. Might i also suggest using theatre mode to explore instead of getting harassed by denizens. The areas are pretty straight foward. The fog is another story, but with theatre mode and free roam camera you can basically fly around and explore to your hearts contempt.
  22. Use theatre mode and free camera it up. You can fly high and explore without fear of denizens or hordes. Good way to explore quickly the entire map and figure out whats what. You can also use it to time the bus but i seen somebody has done it and posted it. Never the less great way to get situated even in the thickest of fog.
  23. The fact that zombies has grew as much as it has is very encouraging. But to have a dedicated story/campain would distract from the point of the title. Its somthing thrown on the side, and treyarch utilized the interest and built ontop of it in each major title. Depending on the success of BLOPS2 and the zombies in the game would could see an entire spinoff into a zombies title from treyarch. If people rather play cod zombies than other zombie games you can bet treyarch will fill that niche. Right now its no harm done as there is moderate interest and they still have the other features if Tranzit/cod zombies crashes and burns. Its a win win for treyarch, and seeing them expand into zombies further leads me to look down the road for a treyarch produced zombie game, if the demand is there of course. ( i would imagine they would start a seperate studio, perhaps 935 studios to tackle a full title) Until then just keep playing and maybe treyarch will deliver in the future.
  24. Played my first 4 p game tonight ever on der reise of all places, but with randoms and i was on medic duty half the time. Pretty much what i figured, altough i carried through when all my teammates were down. All in all it was a fun time.
  25. In regards to the Grim Reapers team, just post a reply in the team thread? Or PM the actual host? Sorry about the run on typing in my original introduction there, i was using my iphone and for whatever reason i never realize how much i type on the stupid thing. Anyways ill post a reply in that thread, and ill do my best to show up and contribute some way or in some capacity, until i can break into the teamwork aspect of the game. As i said i play split-screen with friends quite often and there's often miscommunications even when im right next to the person. Adding a little more backstory, i really only got into COD after MW2. I tried playing online but it just seemed so chaotic and no flow to the games i was in anyways. I beat the campaign on veteran and felt like id adjusted very well to the game play, and went back to whoop some online. And alas, pure chaos, and just could not find a groove ever. I got WaW as im a huge WW2 history buff, and played the campaign on that, on veteran. And then came zombies! (the push to the reichstag must have taken me 2 weeks alone, with the random grenades the second you break cover). A few of my friends were just getting blops and i got it as well, having just played nacht a few hundred times. A few friends started playing kino but we could never make it very far. Terrible spenders who were so gun picky we always got trapped, even once they got there fabled wonder weapon or lmg of choice. And dont get me wrong, i would never stop rolling for an rpk or an hk at the time because in my eyes the bigger clip meant more rounds! I got bored of kino fast. It had alot of very tricky spots and to figure out a strategy that would work for everyone never worked. My co-slayers never bought into my strat's of conserving points for important things, and all the while i must have PaP every gun in solo rounds trying to figure out how to accomdate my box whore friends and it worked. We went further every time and started seeing 15+ almost every play. (at the time this was a big deal) But then i did something that changed zombies for me forever. I downloaded the WaW der reise map pack. I read some forums talking about der reise, and it sounded like a simple map i could solo for hours and figure out how to get to higher rounds co-op. I still remember when i yanked that ppsh-41 from the box. And even more so when i yanked it from the PaP machine. I had gotten surrounded by zombies, still leaving my reaper a virgin, not one shot fired. I pulled it out and spun myself in a desperation circle, completely thinking i was down once again. But somthing amazing happened. The reaper not only blew me a hole open, it layed the entire swarm down. It was after this i decided to truly slay zombies, ie were it became fun. With the unfair advantage came many more lessons, and really helped me break into a training-teleporting strat. To get my friends to play an older COD game was insane, they refused due to the fact they believed the WW2 guns would be so underpowered and outdated they would be useless compared to the menu of the blops box. But, they came to find out how very wrong they were. Now i equally enjoy wonder weapons and lmgs and smg's, and i actually will hold onto a python/357 magnum if my partner is in desperate need of a gun other than his colt, but for whatever reason, the m1919 and the mg42 are imo the most genuine zombie slaying guns that shoot real bullets. (my personal favorites being the reaper and the 'cuda) But as i said earlier, my friends are not even close to the amount of solo gaming ive done, which in contrast is peanuts compared to other hardcore slayers. Most of the time im left wondering what 3 other good players could do, with me, and a few hours to kill. Maybe ill make it, maybe i wont. But im gonna die with my boots on, fighting to the bitter end. I love bangin the trigger and i rather bullets than wonder weapons until they just wont work anymore. I always go for headshots and average at minimum 25% of kills headshots. My biggest weakness is not letting go until the bottom of the clip or until the last zombie drops, whatever comes first Thanks for the welcome again everyone. Also, im much more savvy to Moon, Kino, Der Reise, and Five. Ive played every map, but i dont think i even seen every room on COTD, Shang, and Acension, let alone know my way around. Again ive been chippin away in solo but end up frustrated dying in the same way without discovering new areas. Im not saying i dont want to play these, but if your looking for a good teammate try to use the maps im more savvy to, as i know them very well by now.
