  1. Disagree. They have to focus on the maps. It's actually a minority of people that care about much less know the story. Gameplay has to be first.
  2. By curtains for zombies, I guess I didn't really mean that we've already gotten our last zombies release, but rather it certainly is on the downward slope of it's lifespan
  3. I've actually been more impressed with the replayability of the BO2 maps, mainly because i've progressed on to playing with randoms and some of my friends who never got the DLC's finally caved and bought them because Battlefield 4 has sucked (their words i don't have it) They are quite a bit easier, true, but i don't mind it at all. still challenging with randoms, So basically unless its the challenge of making extreme high rounds, i think its stood up ok. I'm confident that whenever it comes, a new zombie experience will be super fun, but i really think the 3 developer thing is a bad idea. it puts too much space in between the zombies/extinction releases. obviously the focus on COD will remain to be the campaign and the multiplayer, which is the majority of what draws people to cod, but there is no denying how big zombies has gotten and how popular it will remain. But NOT if it's 3 years in between when someone who just buys the game and no dlc sees anything new. Maybe this is the right move long term for the COD franchise, but for zombies i think it spells curtains
  4. Yep, with what i've gotten out of ghosts, i'm not bothering with cod until the next treyarch one. Waste of my time and money edit: I am now far more depressed, because outside of Treyarch releasing a stand alone zombies game (which we know is not possible) I won't play any new zombies until i am over 30 years old. That is just cripplingly depressing edit 2: If they have 2-3 years to make the next game, there'd better be more than one zombies map on disc. like 3 at least imo
  5. While I understand what you were getting at, If the zombies team goes about making BO3 to cater to those who go for 100+ rounds or people who make youtube $$ off it, then we will end up with a shitty game. (because that is less than 1/10 of a % of the zombies community) I agree they need to go back to the core, but only because of what made Nacht Der Untoten so fun and popular. Its just straight up simple fun. The more complex it becomes the more off-putting it is to most. The reason why black ops 1 is getting so much replay is because it was the perfect balance between your WaW maps and BO2 maps. (where waw is simple with one objective basically, stay alive and BO2 is obviously designed to promote EE completion first and foremost) The maps contain very little story related material outside the EE's in BO2. In waw, it's ALL outside RR because there were no EE's as we know them now (side quests or whatever) Again BO1 knocked it out of the park with the balance between maps standing alone on their own without an EE and then with the vvalue the EE added. tl;dr , Less emphasis on EE's more emphasis on fun, but for those of us who want to do the EE's make the reward worth the effort, and make it less a priority (a la Maxis immediately telling you to start the EE at the beginning of each map)
  6. It's obviously not true, but the old days of black ops 1 random games, it seemed like every single game I would get yelled at for picking up power ups in early rounds. Obviously though, the people who subscribed to those rumors, didn't usually have the skill to make it far enough to where it would matter anyway lol
  7. Gracias good sir!. Did you notice the animation seeming faster at all? maybe its my mind playing tricks OR maybe its just on WaW or Blops1 lol.
  8. Oh yeah, that's exactly why... have to get recent high rounds to get promoted/stay promoted. If you always quit out in the teens you'll likely avoid any progress
  9. I am pretty certain that it increases the speed of the animation, but i haven't really seen any solid evidence that the time elapsed between begin building and building complete is any shorter with SC
  10. Pretty sure this is what prevents this from being possible. Even after the time bomb, the lights go off in the witch house, which prevents them from dropping more perk bottles
  11. haven't pushed it. decided wanted to do the richtofen side instead of maxis which i had completed, re-did the richtofen side of die rise, then never was able to do the other two lol. one of these days
  12. haha that's a really cool idea Stop mocking me... Furthermore, could do like guitar hero and allow you to use your xbox avatar! lol Would love to kill z's as my Blues jersey Rams helmet wearing, mustache-clad man
  13. eh agree to disagree. I can see the spawn disruption thing if you're playing for high rounds on solo. In the realm of this thread though, if i'm playing with randoms, or even with friends, it isn't gonna ruffle my feathers if we get carpenters. worse case scenario i get a few less points from boarding and the rest of the team gets more, and maybe it makes the beginning of the next round take another 20 seconds
  14. I agree. I know I have gotten the green smoke after getting a ton of points with the paralyzer during a 2x , and it seemed I only lost it once I went a 2x points time w/o purchasing anything. haven't played buried recently though, so I'll have to take a second look as well
  15. Lol, Ill agree the "stealing" windows in starting rooms is annoying because there are almost always 4. Another time I'll speak up even if' im quietly playing with randoms is when "the leader" of the pack commands everyone to follow his directions so we can "get the golden ray gun" or some other nonsense like that. That's when I'll come in and say, "No, I am not doing that because that is stupid and pointless" lol But why would you not want to take a carpenter? 200 free points for everybody (400 if 2x points, and please don't say "to save drops for later rounds" because that works about as well as the golden ray gun plan") lol
  16. I was going to quote your post MegaAfroMan, but i think I can just sum it up by saying I agree with almost everything. The only argument I have is about the in-game objects like the bus. The problem about that is, for instance if the denizens teleports were more predictable, or if there was another mode of transport that was faster and easier, then what's the point of the bus (or whatever the mode of transport would be) Seems like at that point it would be there just to be there (and be largely ignored i'd imagine) Otherwise I think I agree with everything you wrote
  17. Honestly, I specifically hope they do NOT bring back most of those things. I voted for the Challenge chest, because I thought that was extremely innovative and a fantastic addition. Buildables, I could take or leave. (mainly no buildable WW's is the main concern, I like the zombie shield and tramplesteam and such) digging i think should be a one trick pony for origins. Transport around the map is iffy to me. Stuff like teleporters and short ride things (like the gondola in MotD or the zip line in shi no numa) are more appropriate. I am firmly against anything for long rides like a bus. Definitely against game ending cutscenes for EE. I want a special reward that will drastically improve my survival chances for doing such a hard task, not something ill only ever do one time. I'm for persistent upgrades, but with one condition, it needs to be more clear what was earned and how it was earned. The game has been out for 15 months and there are still things nobody has any clue what causes the green smoke. There should be some sort of HUD display to show active upgrades Bank has to go, and the weapon storage IMO should too. made it wayyy too easy and too far removed from the original gameplay within zombies I don't mind two sided easter eggs where at some point there is a fork in the road. They could have done so much more with that in BO2. and the big hillbilly in Buried is also a one map character. no need to see him back ever again :edit: after re-reading my post, it sounds like I'm super negative about BO2, when that is not the case really (tranzit excluded) I just think many of these things were stepping stones that they could use feed back from the community to implement even better different new things in the next installment
  18. The good thing is, the game has been out for long enough, and we still have plenty of time until the next one arrives, you can really take your time and gradually piece together an excellent guide, as opposed to what happens a lot upon a dlc release where everyone is just patching in info so quickly it often is terribly unorganized and hard to follow. Such as origins. I was trying to find a thread that included the locations of the yellow disks for maxis to pick up for the free Magna Collider, but everything was being discovered so quickly and just thrown into a new thread, it was hard to find (luckily my memory came to me and i found them all lol) What i'm saying is this is going to be really useful and I appreciate those who are working on it !
  19. It's because more often than not, people without mics tend not to have headphones or aren't able to hear either. Not all, I'm sure you are a good player, but from my perspective it's a numbers game.
  20. thank you! what a great idea Slade. I don't have the PC version, but I'd also encourage others to post anything interesting that they find in the files that didn't make it into the finished product. cool stuff!
  21. really really cool thread idea. Brains for sure. I would love to see some sources documented as well though. Not that I doubt the content, but it would be nice to see sources so we could even further investigate
  22. This clan still going? I got kicked out of my other clan due to inactivity since i was out of town the whole last clan war lol. (they were pretty hardcore) Clan war starts today as far as I am aware, and ill be playing. If you see this Way, i'd appreciate an invite so i can help out!
  23. ai have the highest K/D of any Cod on this one. I think this is from the larger maps and that I have the patience to not run crazily around the whole time. I disagree about that though, MW3 is the worst COD i have ever played. the maps were awful and it was very forgettable all around. And I have had less issue with lag in Ghosts than even on BO2 That said, Ghosts has gotten pretty boring quite quickly. Extinction is ok as an occasional distraction, and squads is mildly fun sometimes. Treyarch just does it better in my opinion. Maybe im biased because of the zombies aspect that they do so well, but Ghosts just seems really shoddily done
  24. Pretty similar to yours Naitrax except i hadn't played the MP maps yet so no special bonus. Anyway I got the Maverick and its pretty cool i guess. Then i got to the Breeder and I was toast. Didn't get hitmarkers from shooting him with a normal weapon like i do on the regular aliens so I have no idea if i was even hurting him. Seems pretty similar to the last map. Slightly more interesting level design. Still not very fun solo, and I don't have any friends that have the game that play often because, well it's IW and Treyarch is much more our preference all around
