  1. Having upgraded perks would be way too OP, as many would tell you the something. Perks should do nothing more than give you an advantage, not make you unstoppable. However, the mixing perks is an interesting idea I could see being played with in maps to come, perhaps it could be mixed into some mystery elixir with unknown effects? However, I'd say the more perks you mix, the more slots this "mega perk" would take up. (For example, mix 3 perks, and that new mystery perk would be still equivelent to having 3 perks in your remaining slots) To make things more interesting, the devs would have to put some kind of risk factor in there as well, such as some mixtures could have more bad side effects than good. Let's say you mix 3 perks together. Quick Revive Speed Cola Jug This, for example, would make your character have faster reload speed, carry more ammo and heal quicker as it's effect. However, you move considerably slower as a side effect.
  2. Still, In the very least, It would be nice to have some off-hand pack avaiable with all zombies maps in one convienent location. Could be something similar to what Red Dead Redemption did with Undead Nightmare; and optional standalone DLC pack.
  3. Boredom, Lag, lack of friends, laziness, putting the game in... I could go on.
  4. And that's how you make an introduction, folks.
  5. I'd assume so, I whipped up a couple examples earlier in this thread. I could always whip up some other ideas for it.
  6. Someone give that man a medal

@Slade and I finished Mob's EE last night with randoms. It was a lot of fun ! : D

  8. I'm definitely for the mods picking the topic. Feels more rewarding knowing the staff chose the thread I think for reasons I stated on the other thread. Also definitely at least have a medal for having a topic featured. Additional medals could be optional, such as one for winning it multiple times as I also suggested. I also made some example medals in the other thread on this topic if the mods want to use them.
  9. I'm seeing a few concerns on what would warrant a "good" topic, or chosen due to it already being a hefty thread. Perhaps TOPIC could be TOPICS of the week. And I like the idea of Mods picking the threads. It may not be as important, but it builds more staff-to-community relationships and it's nice to get noticed. So, maybe the mods could pick the top threads/topics in each section? And those who created the topics, would then receive the medal. If multiple topics are made by the same member, well they are one step closer to excellence.
  10. I'd love to, hit me up and let's see what we can come up with.
  11. Furthermore, why not yearly CoDz awards in general? I know this is kinda jumping off the wagon with that idea, but at the other forums I used to go to before CoDz, they always did these "Favorite, Best, etc" awards that worked basically like UOTM. For example, a thread for each topic would be made. Let's say "Favorite CoDz forum section of 2014". Everyone would then throw in nominations of their favorite forum sections. After a certain section was nominated 3 times, it was pushed to the voting/poll round to be voted on and so forth. We could even have member-specific awards such as "Most Missed or Favorite Member of 2014, etc." All winners of would be listed on the main page, and those who win member-specific awards, could win some kind of "Grammy Award" that's specific to each year; (ex. "Grammy Award 2014" - Winner of CoDz 2014 year end awards). That's a lot of bite off and chew, but I think it would be a lot of fun given enough thought and discussion. If anyone is actually curious enough about this idea, I could show it in practice and would like to discuss it further but yeah. I like that idea too, Slade. EDIT: I whipped up some medals based on the idea: TOTW: http://imgur.com/MIlpVXV Excellence Award: http://imgur.com/uCytIfq
  12. Did someone say medals? The whole idea sounds good to me, weekly seems more productive as it will keep everyone on their toes constantly I think, especially if this is in effort to promote good threads of any kind. But speaking of medals, how about making several earnable medals? For example: Topic Of The Week - Have a thread win "Topic of the Week" Excellence Award - Win "Topic of the Week" 5 times.

  17. Off track here, but I just want to say this thread makes me happy. THIS is how I imagined the staff and CoDz working together. *applauses* On track again, The whole automated introductory post? Makes us seem like those annoying automated phone calls. I understand the purpose of those, but perhaps there's a way to make it so the first time someone logs in, they have that appear in a pop up? Or at least in their PM inbox. It just seems like a lot of....blah tossed in your face right after you introduce yourself. I made a topic for my un-retirement recently, and was even like "Whoa wat?"
  18. Continued... James cautiously looked around, looking for any signs of trouble. He felt uneasy, weak; something didn't feel right to him. He cracked open the lid to one of the crates stacked aside of the large crater, chucks of rubble glowed intensely back at him. The crew shortly caught up behind them, some seemed angry, other's mourned, but they all had a sense of fear hung over them. "What the hell is that, L.T?" James stood still, studying the chunks. He reached inside the crate, hesitating as he could feel the energy vibrating his hand, almost forcing him away from it's grasp; *ZZZT* James pulled back swiftly, shaking his hand; "I have no idea..." He spoke curiously, still with discontent in his voice. Several more men from the crew gathered around to look; Private Henry Williams stood with his arms folded, less than amused; "Rocks? We've been out here searching in German territory, risking our lives and lost Collins over a bunch of fancy goddamn rocks?!" James just looked at his hand, nothing seemed different, unusual. He looked over at Kasady, who seemed very intrigued, furiously taking notes in her journal and getting as close as she could, Kasady slammed her journal shut, stuffing it back into her bag. She squinted, studying the luminous wall of alien minerals. "Rhoads, what is all this?" James questioned, closing the lid on the wooden crate. Kasady didn't respond. "Rhoads?" Nothing. James paused, his head tilting downward; the sound of humming suddenly filled his ears; "Hey sweetheart, you gonna answer the lieutenant?" Shouted Williams. "Shhh!" James, abuptly interrupted Henry; the sound of humming vibrated the road, getting louder, James immediately shifted, looking down the road as a dust cloud formed, a large vehicle silhouette emerged in the middle. "Shit, move!" James shouted running towards the woods beyond the crater; Kasady slowly reached forward, oblivious to her surroundings. James stopped, looking back at Kasady; "Rhoads, let's go!" Kasady stood in awe, her hand lightly glazed the surface, numbing her hand in vibration and energy. Her right nostril slowly began to trickle a single drop of blood; "Kasady!" The vehicle roared as it approached the dig site, the sound of yelling Germans filled the air underneath the humming motors, James grabbed Kasady's shoulder. Kasady violently shugged him off; "Dammit Kasady we have to leave NOW!" James whipped her around, Kasady resisted but it was no use, she her face was blank with anger; "Kasady what the hell is wrong with you?! We need to GO!" "J-James?" James whipped Kasady's arm around his neck, jogging towards the forest out of sight. Kasady looked exhausted, holding her forehead as her vision began to blur, then fade. "James...."
