  1. Gaming wise, I absolutely love Blackout mode atm. It just exhilarates me in a way that zombies no longer can, sadly. I've been learning things from watching good players' streams and I've made friends with a few really good players/streamers who I've learned a lot from and it's been great to have them witnessing my progress and commenting on how quickly I've improved at the mode. Suppose that kind of progression has been missing from zombies for me for quite some time where I've played every iteration for the past 10 years and hit a plateau in my skill level long ago. Outside of gaming, I love cue sports. I also really enjoy messing around with creating music, I never actually finish much but I just love learning about it, I'm more into the mixing and mastering side of things than anything though.
  2. Black Ops 1. I didn't own a console back then but my mate and I used to play Der Riese on [email protected] every day and we were so hyped for the release of BO1. I'd got a bit bored of zombies by the time BO2 came out so wasn't really excited, and BO2 for me was a let-down anyway so I wasn't hyped about BO3. Also didn't really enjoy most of the main BO3 maps so didn't hold out very high hopes for BO4 either, was hyped about the FIVE remake but was still a bit concerned it was gonna be shit. I just felt like BO1 couldn't be bad the way zombies was at the end of [email protected] season.
  3. I think CoD games are far superior on console tbh, one of the reasons I ended up buying a PS4 for now. PC is always lowest priority to the devs. Poor optimisation, I've always had stuttering problems with various CoDs on my PC despite it being well above the recommended requirements. Cheaters and hackers. Much smaller player base, BO4 is basically dead if you're looking to play with randoms. Think there will be a period where I play on PC again once PS5 comes out until that gets cheaper, but I'm on PS4 for now.
  4. Also maybe add some comments as to why it's placed where it is. I'll start: 1) Tag Der Toten Just a perfectly rounded map, for me. It's got everything and fixed my major gripes with COTD, which were the George boss character and the lack of means of getting to proper high rounds. Also the added mountaintop facility really adds to the map. 2) Dead of The Night Nice layout, great atmosphere and the wonderweapon is kinda fun. Also really liked the characters, certainly much more than Chaos. The whole setup is slightly lengthy but I was attempting round 100 on this map during the bluescreen era and had 10 attempts at it, and I never once found the setup tedious. Plus, I'm into the whole werewolves and vampires thing - fun fact, there was a game on the Sega Genesis called Zombies Ate My Neighbours which is what got me into zombies stuff (plus werewolves, vampires, mummies etc) when I was a kid, which is where my username comes from! 3) Classified FIVE was in my top 3 of all time anyway, not too much changed with this map. Probably would have been #2 if the Pentagon Thief was still in. 4) Ancient Evil Really enjoyed this map. Good layout, nice aesthetic, fun wonderweapons. If the setup was less long I might have placed it above Classified, but it got a bit tedious to set up at times. 5) IX Also really enjoyed this map, nice and simple much like the old maps from BO1 and [email protected] which I like. Nothing standout though which is why it's only #5. 6) Blood of The Dead My only gripe with this map is that it's too damn big. Mob didn't really need expanding. I loved the atmosphere and the aesthetic, probably one of the best zombies maps ever in that respect. Shame the wonderweapons kinda suck too, the Magmagat was a great weapon to start with but got nerfed heavily. 7) Alpha Omega Just missed the mark, for me. I was looking forward to a Nuketown remake for the longest time and for me, they just messed it up. The atmosphere and aesthetic was horrible, the underground area was mostly just a rehash of what we've seen in Blackout. The Ray Gun MKIIs were a letdown as well. Didn't really enjoy it. 8) Voyage Same issue as with Blood for me, it's just too damn big, but at least Blood has other redeeming features. Voyage is also very complicated in layout and the setup is tedious. It's just boring as well, very little atmosphere. With all the above said, I didn't hate any of these maps, even the last couple. I just found them a bit meh. Also you'll notice it's all from a pure gameplay perspective as I don't really bother with EEs and all that stuff.
  5. Hellion Salvo and PhD slider. Sit in the D deck next to one of the posts on the left as you enter. Camp until desired round is reached.
  6. 1. Groph. Him being so instrumental to the story behind Moon (my favourite map of all time) makes him the winner, here, definitely over a robot. 2 & 3. Gonna vote Takeo and Marlton, purely because I haven't played Mob much (like a few times) and my impression of the characters was nothing exciting). 4. Ultimis Dempsey. I started playing during [email protected] so Ultimis are my guys. Definitely favoured him in the earlier maps, he was just so damn aggressive and it made me laugh. 5. Shadowman. Russman's voice annoys me. Plus the Shadowman/McNamara voice actor is brilliant.
  7. You can also swim much faster than normal with the heat pack, wonder whether or not it's enough to get you to the other side without having to use the specialist?
  8. Was a few months in before I decided I might do it, was just a bit of an idea at that point though cause I'd only done Classified and DOTN at that point and I haven't even really played the rest of the maps. Got Ancient Evil done pretty quickly though and while I was waiting for DLC3 I managed to get Blood and IX done, helped a lot that IX is such a simple map so it took me like a day to learn it, whereas Blood is a lot more complicated. Wasn't sure about it once AO came out, cause I didn't like it, didn't have a good first impression of Voyage either, but got AO done in the end and I've still not done Voyage but I've practiced my setup and actually quite like the map now. Then along came Tag and I really liked it and the setup was very simple, so I got it done within 24 hours. Now assuming there's no DLC5, Voyage is all I've got left to do ? Side note, that Tag 100 is pulling in loads of subscribers lol, I was about 200 when I uploaded it and I'm at 285 as I write this. Never been bothered about growing my channel and mostly just upload to share on forums like this, nice to know people like my content though.
  9. Yeah, been seeing a lot of good maps coming out this year. Once I'm done with BO4 I've got some new stuff to play on BO3 ?
  10. Major differences are, there's an area at the back of COTD (old Staminup area) which has been completely changed and is now the new spawn, new doors have been added to the hut and you start behind it which wasn't even an accessible area in COTD. Also there's now the research facility at the top of the mountain which you can only access via zipline. Other than that, like 95% of the main part of the map is the same layout, even a couple of the perk machines are in the exact same spot as old perk machines on the boat. This video gives a great side-by-side comparison of all the areas, the major difference in the mountaintop lab can be seen at 1:44 - you see it's just mountains in the background in COTD, whereas in Tag there's the facility up there. The facility has got a Der Riese feel about it, sweet old school Group 935 vibes ?
  11. First time I've ever done a round 100 within the first 24 hours of release tbh! First time I've even attempted to do so though tbf, with this map though I new most of the layout already and it was simple to set up, so yeah ?
  12. I'll still be hovering, might even go back to BO3 cause I haven't done even half of those maps! I think it's actually become my favourite BO4 map, now. It's just got everything that I look for in a map. Great atmosphere, basic setup is simple, fast camping spots, good training spots (especially if you get the heat pack and train in the Beach/old spawn room as you're then unaffected by water), Thundergun, no irritating heavy zombies, dog rounds, fairly simple layout and free methods of getting around in the flingers and ziplines. Suppose where we haven't played as Victis in forever that adds a fun factor in as well. So yeah, this season has ended on a high for me ? You managed to play much of it yet?
  13. Think this is probably the first time in BO4 where I've done a round 100 on a map and still wanna play it I might even go for a 100 speedrun on it and see if I can do sub-3 hours. This 100 took me 3hrs 25mins, it took me a bit under 1hr 25mins to get to round 50. So basically if I get to 50 in under an hour then it's possible, and getting to 50 in under an hour is definitely possible with good box luck (my box luck on this attempt was horrific). Also could shorten it down by not doing shield runs and instead just use the elixir to get a new one when needed. I've still got Voyage to do to have all of the BO4 maps done, but 100 speedrun on Tag is just more exciting to me atm.
  14. The shade it's at now is much better ?
  15. I was waiting for both a Nuketown and a COTD remake, we ended up getting both. I was bitterly disappointed with AO, it just felt all wrong, the outside areas looked hideous and the bunker was just rearranged parts of what we saw in Blackout. So I was a bit apprehensive when we were certain COTD was getting remade, as it was always one of the maps I really liked.... but you know what? I really, really like it. Definitely up there in my top 3 BO4 maps. They actually did a really good job with it, I think. Not like Nuketown which was a total let-down and Mob which was made way too big, or Classified which was good but also lost a lot of its original character. With the COTD remake they actually got rid of a lot of the annoying features, like you can prevent yourself from freezing in the water with the heat pack and of course there's no irritating George Romero boss, plus you can actually get further than like round 60 on solo. I love the lighting. There's obviously a lot of interesting lore, being the map that wraps up the story. Victis are more interesting than the celebrity cast we got last time. The setup for high rounds is generally very simple, with lots of very optional extras to be found and built depending on how you like to play the map. I loved the original layout so I'm glad they kept almost all of it, and the main extra area (facility) they added is a very interesting area with great aesthetics, really captured that classic 935 facility vibe that's been missing from zombies for a while now. So yeah, gameplay wise (which is mostly what I'm about), it's been a great end to BO4 for me ? What about you guys and gals?
  16. I've seen a few clips of people launching by the flinger, and I've noticed each time they've had the "fling zombies" challenge active. Could be that.
  17. At first I was like AH WTF, but I just don't like change, objectively though it does look nicer. A criticism would be that the text is a bit dark maybe? Makes it slightly hard to read, think plain white would look better. Just my could of pennies worth though, dunno if anyone else feels the same.
  18. Went with the Sulky strategy in the end as it's extremely fast, and I'm all about that. If you do have a few Perkaholics to spare then I'd recommend the strategy I posted last night if you want something easier, it's definitely slower but a respectable 11-12 seconds per horde in the high rounds and it's easier than the Sulky strategy, plus ammo is literally not an issue. Either way, this is the first time I've ever done a round 100 within the first 24 hours of a map releasing, so I'm happy with that! FYI, you can get both the Thundergun and the Tundragun out of the box - I got the Tundragun in this game so tried it out, which is basically a combination of the Thundergun and Winter's Howl. Honestly, if you get it, swap it out for the Thundergun, it's inferior. You can't shoot zombies that are right up to your face unless you aim at their feet, and the range is shit. Ammo became a bit of a struggle but in the high 80s and 90s I got my Alchemical timings down. Had a really stupid down at the end of round 64 where I had a few zombies left at the end of the round and missed the zipline and got smacked up with no shield on my back lol. Used a few of my Dying Wishes as well once the spawns started getting really mad (and the will get really mad lol), but once I got to grips with the strategy I did alright. This game could have been much quicker but I had really shitty luck trying to get the Thundergun out of the box, so it took me well over an hour to get to round 50. Oh, and I chose the Hellfire specialist by mistake, meant to use the Overkill for the nade launcher and by the time I realised in-game I thought screw it, this should still work, definitely not as well but it was okay, I'd recommend the Overkill instead though if you're doing this strategy.
  19. Yeah, just haven't really felt like playing zombies this past month tbh, been on Blackout mostly. Obviously this new map got me hyped though! Side note, this strategy is basically redundant as Sulky found one that's like twice as fast lol. I'm actually really liking this map. Again not too much by way of new content, but I loved COTD so much so this time I don't mind that much, layout still nice and simple. Though I did find George kind of annoying so good to not see some sort of replacement back. Love the new lighting. The setup is simple and a lot of the stuff is optional, you can get the WWs out of the box which is always nice. The Wunderwaffe doesn't seem very good so I would never bother with it, looks like Hellion and Thundergun combo is best for camping. Looking forward to 100 on this one.
  20. The major downfall of this strategy is that Perkaholic is required, as you have to keep the door to the boat power switch closed or it ruins the strat. This may be off-putting for some, but a lot of the high rounds players are likely gonna have some Perka's stocked by now and this map might be a good time to use them. No power does mean no PaP as well, but it's just as well as you don't need it. This strategy works very much like Ashy's Alpha Omega strat - you sit on top of the ledge, and catch the zombies with your ballistic knife, using the Electric Cherry modifier to charge your damage giving you 1-hit melees. I'd advise using the specialist whenever it's charged, as it really speeds things up. Might even be faster with another specialist like the grenade launcher one. Also I took the sph of this strategy in the high 50s and the spawns do still speed up a bit into the 60s, so the sph might be closer to 10-11sph by the time you get into those rounds. As a secondary weapon I'd recommend the Thundergun, you could use it to get yourself out of danger if needed. Also note that dogs do fly up onto the platform next to you sometimes, just keep an eye out and just quickly turn to swipe them, they're generally not a problem. The video starts with the dog rounds strategy as well, if you stay up top it really slows the round down so for dog rounds I advise going downstairs like I do.
  21. I think this is the full intro, I mean it's a couple of minutes in length already and we didn't really see Nuketown in its own cutscene at all either. Suppose now it seems like the leader of Primis can just spawn a portal when they please so it's not like Treyarch need to bridge the gap to show us how the crew arrived at the map, so they've taken an alternative approach with these last couple of intros. Do prefer the regular cutscene styles, personally.
  22. Great work mate ? Did also notice AE didn't get much love here gameplay-wise, which as a little sad cause I loved it personally. Shame for me this sort of clickable guide wasn't here and I had to flick through videos every time I played ?
  23. Wrong guy to ask about EEs mate, generally don't bother with them myself.
  24. Yeah, at this point it wouldn't shock me, I'm probably wrong but I dunno, just a feeling I've got. As you said though everything's pointing toward Siberia and Treyarch have been really predictable this season so far, so it's likely that.
