  1. agree to disagree i guess. Im fine with any staff. Any calling of staffs automatically makes one sound 10 years old. like I call monkey bars! at recess or something. not caring what weapons you may or may not get is maturity level: highest. the reasons being this: A) games with randoms very rarely last long enough to build/upgrade staffs. in games with randoms, rarely do you get to a high enough round where a staff is even necessary and I can survive just fine with a Boomhilda and Spattz. C) they are all wonder weapons and are bad ass. unless there is a legit chance of getting to 40-50 (6-7 hour game) then who has what staff should really not matter one bit. and to your point, about not spawning close enough to get the staff at beginning of a round. with my friends we've done this plenty of times and it works fine. just have someone who has jugg/QR/ray gun/staff whatever to protect until out of the excavation site. Now i will give you this, I haven't played in a while and am not familiar with any glitch that makes staffs disappear, so my reasoning is based on the assumption that nothing goes wrong with the game glitch/coding wise
  2. The part about this that doesnt work is that zombies is a round based game, and how would you make a round based game work in an open-world enviornment? It would either be way too easy or way too hard.
  3. either way, the fact that there is an atmosphere, the gravity is that of earth, there is one moon, and the sun looks as it would from earth rather than mars, etc. etc. makes the mars theory only feasable if there is some sort of expansive biodome on mars, or that in the "zombies universe" mars is exactly like earth (which makes no sense) . There are far too many holes. It would make more sense to say that the mars mountains were teleported to shangri la on earth than the other way around.
  4. well said @Electric Jesus , either way, until there is any direct proof that shangri-la is on mars, and that it holds any sort of significance to the story as a whole, ill just continue thinking it is in the Himalayas as it is purported to be. Remember the shrink ray gun's name did have latitude and longitude coordinates that matched up to the himalayas as well...
  5. totally disagree with this one... sorry! there are a ton of things that can alter the course of a game. This is one reason I am staunchly against "calling" staffs before the game starts. I think the staffs should be acquired based on need. for instance player A called ice staff, player C goes down and bleeds out in round 8. Which is better for the team, allowing player C to pick up the ice staff that player A had build and adjust the game plan accordingly, or be rigid and inflexible and leave him to fend for himself with no points and a Mauser? same could be said for the sliquifier, or free blundergat as well... makes more sense though in origins, to me, to go with the flow of the game rather than some lame pre-game "calling" bs
  6. again, why? i could argue that origins is really set on Pluto, becuase "BIODOMEZZZ" but again there is absolutely no reason to think that. someone mentioned that the mountains color doesnt change during the "eclipse" , ever think maybe the devs just didnt want to take the time to create an entire new backdrop for an easter egg step that a bunch of people never even activated? Case in point, remember how when you go back to no man's land after the rockets hit earth on Moon, and you can see the exploded earth in the sky because they just re-used the sky art from the moon? that doesnt mean no man's land teleported to mars or the moon or something, it is just glitch that showed a lazy shortcut to save time and money im sure. We need to all stop drinking the mars kool aid
  7. The inhabitans certainly didn't master time travel. As soon as Group 935 showed up, they were forced to dig out 115. The power switch is to power up all the various mining equipment, generators and mine cart you see around the map. It's not that it is entirely impossible, it's that there is no real proof that it is, and absolutely no logical or story related reason why it would be. @Black Hand Smith that was a great point about the placebo effect. Someone came up with this crazy theory of mars, and everyone took the sugar pill and really believes they are getting medicine. again, if Shang was legit on mars, why would there have been absolutely no mention in subsequent maps indicating that!? I bet jimmy z and the fellas had a looooonnng laugh after this whole thing happened
  8. Agree on the gameplay features. New weapons, grenades, traps, etc. Wonder weapon specifically as well. And last but not least the easter egg rewards
  9. This. But instead of a physical biodome, why not consider Vril energy as a form of "cover" for Shangri-la? We know that Element 115 is capable of displacing certain things throughout time AND space, ignoring any space-time continuum laws. If Vril is very similar to the attributes (effects) of 115, wouldn't it be equally possible to have an Earth-terrain map enclosed in a sustainable biodome while being transported to Mars? I would believe so. Hence, why the map is still lush. Let's not forget that a 115 meteorite hit the temple, which could further the effects of time and location displacement. I admit I was always an advocate for the area being settled on Earth versus Mars, but over time it started to make logical sense why Shang could potentially be displaced on Mars. But why?? It makes no sense as to why it would be on Mars. Literally the only evidence is the always trolling jimmy zielinski saying something about the "shangri-la mountains" and some how we find ourselves here now with no additional evidence or indication why it would be anywhere other than earth, yet people still remain adamant about its position on Mars. There are just too many other special circumstances that would have to take place to make it even remotely believable that its on mars, but there is no real evidence of any of those things (like a biodome, millions of years in the past, etc...) :edit: basically, the way i look at it, until there is some other direct in-game evidence found post shangri-la that supports this theory, then I simply don't subscribe to it
  10. exactly my point! fact is, if Shangri-La was on mars at very least the sky would look black like on moon. unless the time-travel moved shangri-la to mars several MILLIONS of years ago when it may have had a more viable atmosphere
  11. Very nice theory fated. I still am curmudgeonly on this and refuse to accept shangri-la being on mars for one main reason: why? Why would they make any sort of deal about a map being on mars if it holds absolutely no significance? At this point, probably jimmy z and peter livingstone and the crew were smoking some medical marijuana and eating cupcakes and thought, 'heyyyyy mann. what if like those red mountains in that game we made are like, on mars." "yeahhh man, like the moon is green cheese and mars isshangri la man," "hold on let me tweet about this" Other wise, if it does somehow hold some significance story wise, then it is worse, because then it confirms that the developers for some reason really get their rocks off by knowing the full story and never disclosing it to the public, and rather just respond with "i dont know maybe it is maybe it isn't" to every question that is ever asked. personally i dont think they have any real idea, they just roll with whatever the community comes up with, and refuse to confirm anything, in case anyone comes up with any holes in the community's story
  12. ??? I have never ever seen the box spawn in the starting room on moon. closest it spawns is in the power room, and that is 3 doors. Same with Kino, I've never seen it spawn in the starting room, same with COTD. so the "none" option you listed on those is not correct
  13. I totally agree. The tight corners in the opening 1/3 of the map make it seemingly much easier to get double-swiped and lose way early. I really enjoy it though, and it certainly does provide a great challenge for most of us!
  14. The big rumor was that the type 100 was in der reise (when it certainly was not) The type 99 was def just a regular gun in the mystery box in WaW. There were so many fun fake rumors about der reise back in the day.... :swoon:
  15. OH MY GOD WE'RE HAVING A FIRE!!!.... sale.. OH THE BURNING! IT BURNS ME!

  17. new Jimmy Z tweet. whaaaat does it meaaaaannnnn??

  18. !!! what are you up to JIMMY! Does it reference Die Rise? Or Moon?
  19. at this point with fewer people playing since the game has been out almost 2 years, "best connection" may still not be great. I feel your pain though, it is frustrating to get into games with bad connections
  20. My vote is for Egypt. not on the poll i know, but a map in an Egyptian pyramid or temple of some sort would be cool with egyptian themed wonder weapons, sounds, and buildables
  21. people who "call" staffs in the pre-game lobby should immediately get permabanned
  22. No, the max zombies on a map at a time doesn't change with more players, it is still 24. And for BO2, being that there are different weapons and in zombies the weapon adds a multiplier for headshots, limb shots, etc. I'm pretty sure it does man? Doesn't it go up to 48 with 4 players?! Nah.. try running trains on ascension with 4 ppl in 4 diff areas of the map and wait til they stop spawning, you'll only see 24. Because of the processing power i guess it would need to do that. Game would freeze every time
  23. I agree with this post, at least for the merit in the fact that a persons "first" zombie experience will always be their favorite or among their favorites, but I honestly feel that folks who got hooked on zombies in BO2 with tranzit will find after the next zombies game or 2 how lack luster tranzit was. sure it can hold some sentimental value like Nacht does for me, but tranzit is really awful in the grand scheme of zombies maps
  24. Anybody picked up/played Destiny yet? how is it? I'm going to redbox it i think and check it out

No offense way2g00d, but that tells me nothing on how good of a game it is. A good game has interesting storyline, entertaining and non-repetitive mechanics as well as wonderful design, it's not how well I can see it, it's what I'm seeing.

Unfortunately for me the story line holds zero credibility. I am trigger happy.
