    Why do folks these days think that a map MUST have a major EE quest to be a part of the story?

      Because that's what they are used to at this point. New players have only seen maps with huge easter eggs.

      The giant doesn't have a huge easter egg. Just a small one.

       It has to do with popular demand. Take season's pass owners, do they want to pay for a zombies map months in advance if it's not going to have a super cool easter egg to solve? Maybe. But we should always have the OPTION to do an easter egg.
