  1. Sorry that I'm not organized, more tidbits: (edited a bit) Melee with staves solo: melee in the middle of the church, when overwhelmed, drop down the hole, making sure to face back towards the stairs, wait for them to start to drop down after you, run up steps/ repeat. This is fairly easy. You should have an upgraded staff between 7-10 solo, so the number and ferocity of the zombies will be manageable. Also, stab from a distance, if they get close, they will hit you. The staves have good reach. --- Zombie shield part in nml: people have trouble remembering the three part locations exactly. Here's the easy way: all 3 spots are in footprints, in a line. 1 behind jugger, 1 in that next footprint by the dig site between jugger and church, the last is the other footprint by the dig site between g5 and the church. All neatly lined up. --- During a round, if you leave the church heading towards the dig site, turn left as you get to the dig site. Turning right is death. Just sayin'. --- If looping around the dig site, never stop moving on the church side. At either end, hop down the tank path rather than cutting through g4 or g5. It's just much safer, in my opinion. --- With no walls in the crazy place, it is fairly safe to use the dolphin dive/flopper. It just doesn't seem to be as strong as in bo1. --- If going for staves solo, get at least 2 of the robot feet during round 1-3 before the last zombie runs. Get the tank/lightning staff pieces with a handful of zombies running around, because there will be casualties. Fire staff record: note that one of the red-label record spawn points is next to the tank, and can only be accessed by moving the tank. This also means that in the right scenario, you may be lucky: moving the tank costs 500 points, whereas opening the upstairs door to the other locations costs 1250/1500. Of course you will still need to open the upstairs to get the staff piece, but the crystal could be gained a bit earlier, should one be so inclined. You only need the records to get the crystals, after that, the game cares not what tunnel you enter through. So get the crystals and then leave the gateway open at 4/wind like everyone else does. That way you can run in without having to build the gateway. Note that from the inside of the crazy place the portals do close after a short period (but can be reactivated immediately). --- I'm sure that I'll have more...
  2. I get so mad at this badly made game that i sometimes write them down. Bad game? How about bad day? 8.10.2013 gaming notes (13 games in a row): 1. Rd 2 zombie takes 8 chest shots, 2 stabs, kills me. 2. Rd 5 red ringed and died. No explanation in game or theater. 3. Round 3 bomb/restart. 4. Could not build zombie shield (game error), got trapped due to too much time wasted trying again and again. 5. 2 rd 2 zombies each take 2 stabs with instakill. I stab a round 3 zombie, he dies as I'm going in for the stab (timed out?), so my stab hits a farther away zombie and get double swiped trying to recover from this game error. 6. Round 7 fresh popped zombie just dies off for no reason, no ammo on start of 8, died to game error. 7. Round 5, last zombie, i die in one hit with jugger. Troll on trollarch... 8. Round 3, first zombie is a bomb/restart. 9. "stab past the zombie that your reticle is aimed at" glitch puts me in crowd. At least this is way less common than bo1. 10. Pathing error keeps zombies out of line of fire. One of the less glitchy deaths of the day. 11. Round 2 bomb/restart. 12. Died for no reason. Assumed invisible zombie, sick of watching theater mode to confirm how poorly game is programmed, so didn't bother watching for reason at this point. 13. Died no reason at all again. Watched theater, zombie 30 feet away waves his arms at nothing and i die. Remember when they tested games before releasing them to the public? I'm old enough to remember. I love this crappily made game still. Happy gaming!
  3. I can't finger the worst, but some fun bits: Solo; I go down in a footprint, boomhilda all the zombies away so i have a clear run to jugger. I get up and get beat down by a zombie that was standing on my head. I go down in the footprint behind jugger. The zombie run just outside of the footprint, and they fling, one at a time back over by me in a ring around my downed body so i get up in a crowd (quite common actually). Yesterday i got pinned against a crystal pedestal in the crazy place, i got downed, the zombie next to me just stood there so i could not move on the ground at all, could not face him to shoot him and was downed instantly when i got up. 2 days ago, i climb over the tank in the church, jump over the front of it as a giant robot comes through, i was at the bottom of the steps under the church when everything goes black as if i was stepped on. 3 times yesterday i did the 'rain fire' step solo. 3 times landed the asmb perfectly, 3 times it said the robot fire was incoming and played some sounds. 3 times i was treyarched. One round 4 i decided to get all wind staff parts. In 2 solid hours of waiting by generator 2, Thor came through exactly twice (in 2 hours of standing there! [i'm ocd]) both times it was his other foot that was lit. This is a really poorly programmed game (like every trollarch product). At least it's not bo1...
  4. Thanks for the follow up information. Good stuff. I avoid zombie blood except for going out to kill the panzer. If you do get zombie blood, go directly to him and shoot him while he can't see you. If possible, activate teleporter, then run back for zombie blood, then tp back to no mans land. I save the maxis drone for when i come up, or when i get downed. I didn't even try for the brofist or asmb. The headshots (115) gave me the upgraded stg and i upgraded to boomhilda. I hit 40 and quit with no downs. Always leave the wind tunnel open/activated. Easy enough to train a round behind you, then head back there.
  5. This is a really good strategy; it always seems like one teammate goes down on this step. I'll definitely utilize this next time I play through the easter egg. Glad to help. It does get a bit chaotic down there otherwise...
  6. (this post is heavily edited. Edited out air strike bomb information. Rewritten in a later post). Ice staff upgrade step 2: anyone can shoot the tombstones after you freeze them. If solo and you have boomhilda (upgraded mauser/start pistol which will not destroy the tombstones) and ice staff only, shoot all 3 with ice staff, then trade ice staff for cheap gun, shoot all three, then get staff back. --- Filling the soul chests early for the brofists can be challenging. Starting on round 10 you should be able to fill one per round meaning there should be enough zombies from what I've experienced. I'm not sure the amount is a set amount or if it varies. --- You can throw grenades under a foot when it comes down to open the foot-door, then run into next footprint. This makes it easier to keep the last zombie from getting stepped on. In mp zombies, one player can wait near g5 and tell the others which robot got its coming. They can also get the foot-door open; they will stay lit all the way across the map. --- Upgrading brofist with 4 people: above the staff holders is a wooden ledge. When i stood on that ledge, no zombies came for me at all. Have one or two players hang back and use their staves to protect the other two who are brofisting to get the glow/upgrade. When they get their tablets, switch positions and they watch the two who were watching. This makes this step easy and avoids unnecessary downs.
  7. On step 2 of lightning staff upgrades, easier than telling them which way to aim each switch, the switches always turn the same number of times. From the first one at g5 to the last on the dig site: turn this many times; 3, next is 2, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3. So go to g5, turn it 3 times, go by tank, turn twice, church once, g4 twice, spawn twice, tank station 3 times, dig site, 3 times. When falling from the giant robots, hit y to switch weapons/hands. On the dig site settings (rings with lights that you turn): if you stand at mk and look at the lights, the 2 switches on the left are the two inner lights, the two on the right are the top and bottom lights. In each set, the switch on the cement ramp is the upper of the two and the switch on the wooden platforms is the lower of the set of two. Also the switch on the left wooden platform can be accessed by jumping up from the mk platform. So you can do the one to the right of mk, fall down by mk, jump to hit the left (edit: left, not right) switch without having to drop down and get back up on the other side of the platform. You can set the lights early, do other steps to upgrade, but you will still need to return to shoot the orb.
  8. Just throwing this out there: tcp, no walls, phd? I wonder how well that would work as it seems they made some floppable areas there.
  9. I definitely want to try the dig challenge. I love digging up a dsr. I assume that it's okay to use the start pistol, despite it not getting dug up? Edit: How about a no-gun challenge? You want to be hard-core? No start pistol, no dug weapons, no wall weapons, no maxis mc. Shield, knife, fists, drone, staves, grenades (semtex), all acceptable. Standard challenge: build a staff if you can, get to 20+. Master challenge: No staves. Get phd and use it in the crazy place. Get to 20+.
  10. I've had it move to the maze early, before we opened that up.
  11. Thanks again all. Anyone: feel free to use/copy-paste any info here to a more organized thread. I just want the info out to the public.
  12. Thanks for additional info all as I've only run it once so far, with ease. Of to look up mango collider... Edit: no luck, what's a mango collider? Edit 2:once i stopped typing mango, i found it. Manga collider is the pap'd lmg. You get it for free by letting the maxis drone pick up 4 glowing yellow disks. 1. By g5, look up. 2. Above one entrance to pap, look up. 3. By burning alcove in trench to g2 or g3 i forget which. Just above eye level. 4. Church above tank path, outside edge, look up. They are all a yellowish/ greenish, similar to maxis drone. Very small items. I just looked at a video and wrote from memory, so of you don't like my crappy description, look it up yourself. :)
  13. Have found that most of the invisible zombies n this game are down in theater to be a zombie that's2p-50 feet away from where he us shown on screen. (by checking theater and seeing which ones are way if from the video record of the screen.9 if ten are in the right place, one is way far off). But ps? Sad.
  14. It is a great finale map. Probably the closest to that waw feel, but with enough bo2 mixed in to make it epic. Basically you have lots to do in this map. If you thought motd was a bit hard, you will be ripping out your hair and possibly tossing your controller a few times. But it is worth it in the long run. Hopefully some of the uncountable number of bugs will be patched for yous before release.
  15. I literally had not played with zombie randoms since Der Riese (shudders at thought of randoms). Then we accidentally got one in our lobby when a friend left and he stayed, was quiet, then said 'I'm too drunk' and was gone during a great game. Back to no randoms rule.
  16. Wind staff/robot foot tip: where possible, you can toss grenades under the robots foot to light it up and then get in the next foot. Running under a lit up foot is easier and less unnerving than running under a foot to shoot it. Easier to avoid accidental last-zombie death. You can also stab it to light it up...i suggest that you try at the tank station or with a helmet on. :)
  17. Oh that's sad. I once toed my power button on a great run. My big toe just touched it perfectly to shut off my 360.
  18. Tired of running around for an hour only to die to a programming bug on round 4 while trying to gather everything? Do you die on round 8 to Mr. Mechaman? Does your solo record cause you round envy? Have no fear, for I am here to cheese you to a 25+ solo record: The crazy place (don't take crystal or the walls drop): If you get jugger and qr, you should get there by 5-7. Just stay there until you can't kill with the guns in the crazy place (stg44 + ak74u). Run a basic circle, i kill by the red staff area (so all of the drops will be easily findable next loop), avoid zombie blood as it makes them scattered as supposed to nicely pooled up behind you. Avoid zombie blood drop. It is that simple. ------ Less basic: assumes qr and jugger; activate generator 1 on round 1, kill as many glow zombies as you can/want, kill round 1 zombies. Round 2 starts, wait a few seconds, grab x2 and kill most/all zombies (shoot too to maximize x2 points) (whether you care about the ice staff dictates when you leave, if you want to dig for staff parts early). Round 2, 3, or 4ish, leave via either trench (i use 2, solo). Open out to no man's land, activate 4, get jugger (usually by end of 3 i get jugger, qr). Now kite around nml until you can open pap and generator 5. Get wind disk from g5 area. Go to crazy place slay until you die or leave. (Wind tunnel is by g4/jugger). Leaving the crazy place: on 8 mechaman will show up. While he will not come to the crazy place, i fear that these will accumulate if not dealt with. Finish most of round 8 in tcp, leave at least one unscathed zombie (wounded zombies won't respawn), leave tcp. You will immediately need to deal with mm (officially Panzer Soldat). Just stay out of claw reach and shoot his face. Get what you want/need and head back in to tcp. Every 5ish rounds take out mm. Round 10, the generators get attacked even while in tcp. Don't care. Easy enough to relink when needed. When ready, go out deal with mm, activate generators and get/pap guns. Return to tcp. You will get no staves this method, but will get to 30+ with relative ease. I just did a challenge there: no perks, only tcp wall weapons allowed and i hit 25 easily with 120k points to spare (and I'm 44, almost completely blind in right eye, extremely myopic in the other and must lie on the floor due to back issues, so you'll do fine). Post scribe: many on this site obvious don't need this method, but judging by the number of people on my friend list whose top round is 8, i hope to help some others get to our level or higher. Happy gaming!
  19. Tried my crazy place challenge without walls. Fairly easy until the guns stop killing. I died stupidly on 25: took shield (on back until 20?), maxis drone (it cleared round 16 by itself), Mauser (empty), m1216 (empty). Bought: stg 44 and ak74 (fairly useless, at least Mauser gave better run speed). Basically ran counter-clockwise loop which included red staff area, killed by red staff area (to know where drops would always be). Zombie blood should be avoided as it scrambles the zombies that you had neatly pooled up. Round 25. 807 kills. 384 head shots. 155k+ points (this is an interesting way to generate a lot of points). Game won't show in theater, but 25 should be easily beatable anyway from what i just saw. If you use this method and then choose to leave to do other stuff, be way of the mech guy waiting when you get out. I don't know if they stack up every 5 rounds or not, but when i went in the wind tunnel (different game than this) and later came out, he was waiting at the to for me. Maybe leaving through the lightning tunnel would be a better strategy. Happy gaming! Edit: the funny bit is that this is easier than the real game. This reminds me of when Buried came out: i built the buildables and used them to get to 32 without any credited kills, which put me on top of my friends leaderboards without much effort (i since did 64 and quit, running a circle around town instead). So if your having trouble getting past 20, (or 8, ha!) Try this to get to at least 20 with ease.
  20. Seen it. Back in waw, once a zombie headed for an open window, if you fixed it before he got there, he would just climb through anyway. Very common back then. In bo2, i think there is a random glitch generator that just makes different glitches every single game (or the game is programmed by Treyarch). Every single game another new glitch that may or may not be seen again. Yesterday i could not get in Freya's foot, it just shoved me out of the way. This had only happened at the tank station previously. This was new to me yesterday: i often shoot or stab a lit-up robot foot at the tank station and run into it, as if it would pick me up (it doesn't). Yesterday, the foot came down with lights on it. After it was down, i ran up the ramp, shooting the lit foot with my Mauser. In typical Treyfail fashion, the shots didn't register, the large light didn't open and when i ran into the unlit foot (which had been down for several seconds) the screen went black and i died. (slow, patronizing clap) Good job Trollarch.
  21. After the patch, when i built my staves, they were low on ammo (a soon as they were assembled). Is this new or am i just oblivious? I swore they had full ammo in the past when i built them, but i can't be sure from memory.
  22. Yes. (face palm, head desk, body floor) Like when buried came out and people knew how to get back up to the start area and the guy was whipping out a ray gun like the m14/or shotgun gave you a ray gun some how. At least i doubted that one.
  23. I'm aware my post is most likely futile, but a man can dream... Maxis drone in lieu of turret would be sweet. It would have top be tranzit drone or something, but imagine one of those blowing away the foggies for you in the fog. Come on Trollarch, make tranzit funner.
  24. Is the sheild allowed and can you leave at any point? Yes to shield, maxis drone, any dug up items that you can acquire by round 5. May only buy wall weapons in the crazy place. No to leaving, perks, non-crazy place wall weapons. Obv no staves.
  25. Added the tank station robot foot bug to Freya... I just spent an hour and a half getting stepped on by Freya, only to be pushed out of the footprint, rather than pick me up. Just like the tank station bug. Why did i decide to use the wind staff? I guess we don't need that staff anymore. Edit: I'm guessing that this is their solution to the 'lit up foot crushes you' bug that is so common. Edit 2: finally started a new round, was able to get in Freya's foot. So. Many. Programming. Bugs. Same game, trapped by 2 zombies on round 7. 3 wind staff shots later, one dies. Then i spot a line crawler, shot him with wind staff, watch it hit, no effect. Pull out stg44, shoot him with entire magazine, he is fine. Smells like BO to me.
