  1. One thing I've always wondered is how exactly the gun is enhanced. In most cases when you upgrade a gun, attachments are added. However that doesn't account for the fact that the gun inexplicably doubles in damage and fire rate. Where is that extra damage coming from? Logically the bullets aren't any larger (although they are a bit laser-y). Think along the lines of the spork. Logically any knife or shiv should be more effective at killing zombies than a spork, but somehow it's insanely powerful. Why? It isn't super sharp or large. There's no visible reason why it could possibly do so much more damage. That being said the idea of it being a portal is not unlikely. But how could maxis and porter design upgraded weapons if the controller is the one who changes them? Maybe maxis stuck some blueprints in the machine with 50 dollars taped to it. If I were the controller I'd totally do it. That reminds me of an idea I heard on Shangri-la about Richtofen making a deal with the devil. Maybe maxis did instead.
  2. If I recall correctly, the license plate on the bus on Tranzit is XP25. if P means 5 (as in the prefix pent) you get X525. Just a random thought that occurred to me.
  3. I'm going to revive this thread because of the influx of threads that ask a single question, get answered, and are never used again. It adds too much clutter to the index.
  4. ! sounds great.Wanna play on launch day mate? Count me in. GET PUMPED.
  5. Since he has no name he can be freely named. Any name is equally accurate, since none of them are. But that's beside the point. Stay on topic people.
  6. It's a perk in the sense that it is a direct enhancement to the player. That is what distinguishes a perk from a weapon attachment (for example) because attachments enhance your weapon. However it is not a Perk-a-Cola as it isn't a beverage, and it isn't a persistent upgrade because it would have been called "the one inch punch persistent upgrade" instead of calling it a perk. Honestly it is its own thing. Straight-up perks haven't been seen yet in zombies. However it is most comparable to a melee weapon, although it isn't one because it enhances the player and not their arsenal, making it a perk-a-cola. So it's like both, but technically neither. Inception.
  7. I love the Easter egg ending! It reminds me of the movie "the prestige." This magician uses a teleporter to duplicate himself for magic tricks, but after each trick he kills his other half. Trippy. I'll be sure to stay tuned. These threads of yours are awesome.
  8. You forgot the mystery box cult! It's a little known fact that all randoms worship the mystery box. That's why they can't function without it and have to pay regular sacrifices of all of their points to it. Don't get me wrong here. I would much rather have a gun I can work with than no gun and jug. I'd take a Five-seven over jug in the first 10 rounds any day. But the problem with randoms doing it is that they can't function without jug. They blow their money, go down, bleed out, and are useless for the rest of the game, unable to recover. Like damn son. If you know you can't survive without jug, BUY SOME DAMN JUG! That's the main thing that pisses me off. Another thing is glitchers. I HATE them. Sure glitching with your friends is fun (not that I ever do it). Sure it is used to get on the leader board unfairly, but I honestly don't care about that. It's just so boring to go down and have someone refuse to leave their glitch to pick you up. Even worse is having to spectate them for the rest of the round. It's worse in grief because you spectate the enemy sometimes. That's when I want to throw an infant at a wall. But honestly most randoms aren't bad. It just seems that way because we only take note of the bad ones. It's like why people think call of duty is only played by 10 year olds. If you actually go into a lobby chances are there are no squeakers. You might come across one every few lobbies but they seem like they're everywhere because you only notice the bad players and not the good ones.
  9. Honestly I still don't get the point of all these disappointment threads. One is enough. This is probably disappointment thread seven or eight THOUSAND. Jesus. Anyway, I've always found that even maps like tranzit (which most people unlike me consider awful) can be made amazing with the right kind of challenge. Waiting for the bus, or waiting for an elevator, or looking for a pesky little green key is a tedious kind of challenge. We want a hectic kind of challenge which keeps you immersed in the game instead of bored. There are a few ways you can add this challenge for yourself. In the words of Michael Jackson "if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change." The way you play the game starts with you. Pro-tips! 1. Play multiplayer. This makes it even more fun if you play with friends who aren't as good as you. You have a lot of hectic fun keeping them alive while not getting frustrated like you would with randoms. 2. Omit undesirable features. Some things like elevators and the bus are unavoidable. But let's say you hate having to build the wonder weapon. Solution? Don't build the wonder weapon. It adds that challenge and forces you to be more versatile, making you a more skilled player over all. Not accepting wonder weapons from the box in BOI achieves a similar effect, although the fun was never absent in the first place there. Of course this deprives you of the joy of using wonder weapons, but that remains entirely up to you. 3. Don't be a critic. Play each game one at a time. Don't think "oh man now I'm going to go through the fog, this map sucks." Chances are if you tell yourself something enough times it will become true. Likewise if you only ever think of tranzit as the map with the fog, you'll only ever see it as that, and you'll prevent yourself from ever having fun on the map. It's like presenting a project in school. If you say beforehand "this isn't very good" or "I'm not sure if this is right, but..." Then people will have the preconceived notion that it won't be very good, and that's how they will see it. Follow EJ's pro-tips and you will be led onto enlightenment. As far as I'm concerned, tranzit doesn't suck. Play a game with ME, and then you'll see how much fun you can have. And again how much fun you have playing a map depends entirely on you. If you have fun on a map it is successful, yes? That's the point of the game, to entertain? In that case is say black ops 2 has been a huge success. It might not be the same as it was in BOI, but most people are just afraid of change. I'm ranting now. You get it. Blah blah blah. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go and make some chicken nuggets. YOU WANT DA PUNCAKE YOU WANT DA PUNCAKE
  10. Some of my friends call me "Clutch McGee." No joke. Somehow I always end up being the last alive, and that's not because I'm the most skilled necessarily. A few epic clutch moments come to mind. My friends wanted me to play with his friends because they were under the impression that my friend was the best zombies player ever. I crushed their souls when I ran 0 downs, 30 revives, 200 headshots and nearly 1000 kills in a 3v3 grief match starting at round 20, headshots only. Another clutch was in grief cell block. It was a pretty generic clutch except for a few exceptional cutbacks. For example I was cornered with an entire train running at my face in the corner bear the afterlife box near the cafeteria, and somehow I made it around them with a series of cutbacks and such. I've had a few nice Krauss revives, but is like to speak on behalf of Delta Gaming here. It was the end of the round and I had already had a few revives stolen by doctor Krauss, aka Delta. I was reviving someone in my first ever game of buried and was about half a second away from reviving them when doctor Krauss himself does an epic strafe jump around a corner shooting the downed player from an impressive distance. I was mad bro. It was kinda like getting quick scoped when seconds away from a ninja defuse. Soul-crushing.
  11. Playing origins you can look up and see hundreds of planes, Zeppelins, and other manned aircraft. Naturally this gives off a feeling of someone having your back, right? NOPE. This adds emphasis to how horribly alone you feel while playing it. It's like human contact is barely out of reach. Also the lightning, the music, and the Hoffman giant robots! Looking up when one is a few paces away is unbelievable. I've only played origins like 3 times, and at first glance it seems gloomy and muddy like a foggy Shi No Numa, but this map is really something else.
  12. Things of mine they've used... Ghost that steals points and gives a free perk Random perk box (probably not my exclusive idea) Laser pistol which can "slice through entire trains" A boss that turns off the power (Origins Templars, sorta.) Revisiting the jet gun concept (no ammo / cooldown, but more powerful) And a few bits and pieces here and there. I'd like to say that none of these, nor any of the others on this thread are necessarily out exclusive ideas. Even if treyarch used an idea that someone here made up I doubt treyarch took it from them. Chances are someone else has said it before, and treyarch would never use just one source. For example the idea of a 935 base on the moon came from this site. Sure it was one individual's idea but he wasn't the only contributor to the idea. Treyarch take suggestions from the community and gather inspiration from popular ideas, but would never just rip an idea off of a web page and slap it into their game. Treyarch got accused of stealing the idea of giant robots in WWI. The guy who accused them if stealing his idea was really passionate in his argument, but he failed to realize that "robots + WWI" is hardly an original idea, and in no way was he the first one to use that idea. Point is, we are the community and by sharing our ideas we are inviting each other to admire them. Treyarch gives back to the community by making their dreams a reality. What more could you ask for?
  13. well, zombie blood is zombie blood - this would be human blood. Maybe the mobsters are really zombies, and they just think they're a bunch of mobsters, but really it's a hallucination masking them from the truth. Hence the fact that they "feel but still can't control themselves." Like in the matrix.
  14. You know what else would be cool? If when someone makes a thread on a topic it wouldn't get ignored and replaced by half a dozen duplicate threads on the exact same topic. Just sayin. Besides I don't see any replacers in this video. Damn son.
  15. The interviewer in that video seemed really giddy when mentuoning Easter eggs and the storyline, and he kept going on about avoiding spoilers, as if he knew sonething we didn't. I honestly think we're going to be blown away by this map, and they're teasing us with our greatest fears. Cruel treyarch.
  16. http://youtube.com/watch?v=qiq38yis-tU He says it at the end of this video. I think he's teasing us, and I trust treyarch not to cop-out on us.
  17. ...or you can just back out and not stoop to their level.
  18. Oddly, nobody seems to be talking about this much. That was posted on August 23, so we know they aren't talking about the intro cinematic. Also the frame from the trailer below hasn't been seen yet, so we know its going to be all-new. The tweet also included the following image. There's already a thread discussing the image itself. Treyarch love their trailer Tuesdays, and the replaces trailer always coincides with the actual release date if the map. So I think we can expect to see a separate trailer tomorrow (or today depending on where you live.) The previous trailer was released at exactly noon by my time (East Coast USA) so assuming they follow that trend, the trailer will be released in almost exactly... Sixteen hours. Hopefully we'll see some gameplay and they will show off a few of the many new features teased in the achievements list. Needless to say I'll update OP with a link once it is released.
  19. What do you mean it was before he contemplated controlling the world? Richtofen wanted us to help him enter the MPD and release Samantha. However Samantha didn't come into power until after richtofen had discovered the MPD, built Gryphon station, massacred dozens of people to feed it, and overthrow Maxis. He had the idea of becoming powerful before Samantha was even in her prison in the first place. In this theory, it is a prequel, and way before he even knew the MPD existed and knew what it was. He would have no way to control the world and wouldn't contemplate it himself. At that point he didn't personally want to rule the world but wanted Germany (his country) to become the most powerful nation. You know, assuring its ultimate victory. So in a sense he did still want to use 115 to gain power in the world, though maybe not in the same way as he does later.
  20. If this is an alternate reality, then it isn't actually the original characters. It is a mirror reality with characters very similar to ours but not the actual thing. Nothing is confirmed. Dude, you're so deep, I can't even see you anymore.
  21. So the O4 being in Origins as playable isn't confirmed in your eyes? /Sarcasm Plenty of stuff is confirmed. Just not storyline info. Gameplay elements and other such things are entirely confirmed and can be called as such. Aside from the wind or water argument about those wavy lines. I think it's wind as it wouldn't make sense to have one for snow AND water. The point is that gameplay elements from a map nobody has played yet are unconfirmed. For all we k is it could be microwaves like the wave gun (hence the wavy lines.) also water and ice are the same thing just in different states of matter. So just saying.
  22. You're probably right because of the achievement icon, but nothing is confirmed until we actually play origins. To you a couple of wavy lines could mean air, and to someone else could mean something entirely different. Edit: I can't understate how absolutely stoked I am for these. It will be cool to finally get a fire wonder weapon as well as re-visit some old wonder weapon elemental concepts. First thing I'm doing is building the lightning staff. EJ will be in his natural habitat. Yes. While it does look like air, a couple of wavy lines could be water, air, or a Ghostbusters reference. Not confirmed yet. I actually had that scene from the ghostbusters in mind while typing that. Bravo sir. Now, assuming it IS fire, ice, wind, and electricity, which one is which? Naturally the blue one is ice and the red one is fire, but why would wind be purple? That's assuming the other one is lightning. But alternatively why would lightning be purple? Don't get me wrong; I'm already looking forward to the lightning staff, and purple lightning would be badass, but it doesn't really make sense. Edit: I just remembered something. You know how the Zeus cannon fires a blast of air with an almost purple-ish color? Maybe the purple staff will be air, and it will fire just like the upgraded thunder gun.
  23. This was back before he could even contemplate controlling the world. The MPD gave him that whole idea.
  24. "When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer." Richtofen is on a major power-trip. Maybe our world isn't enough to satisfy him.
  25. Now THAT's an idea I like. But that does present the issue of it being OP. if you could just bail out every time you're cornered or if a teammate goes down it wouldn't be difficult. Of course there is the obvious limitation of you having to kill zombies to use it. But how many zombies would it take to fill up? Too few would be OP. I can imagine them finding the right balance with this idea, although realistically if it filled up with every 50 kills (for instance) that would be a free cop-out per round at least in the middle rounds.
