  1. I think these are very good ideas. I'm not sure how any of these would make the game easier. People are selfish. In random lobbies you would rarely see open sharing of points and guns. Even trying to give a random Mustang and Sally or points for example might not work if they didn't have a mic. Now I assume that when giving points to another player, it would take at least a few seconds. Therefore, you wouldn't have the time to get someone up and give them points to buy jugg mid-round. It wouldn't change gameplay at all. It would be the same as downing yourself at the end of the round to give someone points. It should be added. VR-11....Yes, yes, yes! I've been saying for a while that I want more weapons like the VR-11, I really hope they put this into BO II. And weapon swap, isn't going to make things a lot easier either. In bad lobbies, it might let you stay alive a little longer but bad players are going to go down no matter what gun they are holding. In good or serious games all it will do is lower box time. If they put a long timer on it, so that you don't have time to do it mid-round than I'm fine with it.
  2. Hey Jay, Also wanted to point out to not throw grenades in the labs (where you find the hacker) and the quick revive room as you can blow out the windows and make it non-breathable.
  3. I posted this on Tac's thread. However there are many problems with this. For one we are assuming that the 2nd moon is the asteroid. This is fine in general, the only difference between a moon and an asteroid is what it orbits. Our own moon would be called an asteroid if it did not orbit Earth. However Mars' larger moon would appear to an observer on Mars to be about 1/3 the size of our own moon. The 2nd smaller moon would appear to be about the size of Venus seen from Earth. This is miniscule. So neither "moon" in Shangri la matches up size wise with Mars' moons. The moon creating the eclipse appears to be about the same size as our own moon perhaps even slightly bigger. It's certainly not 1/3 the size of our own moon. This is just more evidence that Shangri la takes place on Earth, as the astronomy doesn't match up.
  4. Well doing the EE in Shang was hard enough to coordinate so if there is an 8 person EE, I will be doing once and only once. I doubt the reward could even come close to the frustration it's bound to cause.
  5. IW deserves respect. Without Big Red One and Cod 4, this series would have died out long ago. Does anyone remember Cod 3? No, because it was horrible. So you can love on WaW and Blops as much as you want but from a multiplayer standpoint no game even came close to the groundbreaking experience that COD 4 provided. After the debacle that was MW2 and internal issues it was obvious that IW was on the decline. Even still they managed to release (with the help of sledgehammer) a much improved game in MW3. (Improved over MW2, I prefer it to Black ops multiplayer as well but that is more personal preference.) So now Treyarch holds the torch of the Cod series but everyone needs to remember that without IW Black Ops probably wouldn't even exist. And there's nothing to say that in the future Treyarch won't fall apart and IW take the reigns again. If they truly truly truly go back to what made them great, and I'm talking Cod 4 here: Bring back actual recoil, tone down kill streaks, and make simpler maps that award aggressive gun on gun (over hiding and stealth), among others (like get rid of pro perks). Then there's no reason why IW can't make the greatest Cod ever.
  6. Well I guess I have a 34.9 so we'll say 35. I will definitely get that up, I've only had the Rez pack for about 3 weeks so there's no way Verruckt and Der Riese are going to stay so low.
  7. Just so we're clear you just wrote a 353 word sentence with no line breaks. If you want people to read and respond to your posts you need to add in punctuation and line breaks. Try to re-read your post yourself and see how much effort it takes to understand what you are saying. @ITehJelleh Zombie campaign has not been confirmed yet, though I do except something like it to appear in the game.
  8. Damn that stinks. I guess I've never noticed that they respawn. I guess you'll have to settle for 9/10 100's once you get Nacht done (That just sounds so ridiculous!) Just out of curiosity, how long do you have to keep your xbox on for these runs?
  9. Have you tried a developing a flipper strategy on COTD? I guess in theory you could kill the entire hoard with it. Seems like it would be pretty difficult but if anyone could do it I assume it would be you.
  10. Hmmmm lets see....Thompson room, above Thompson room, STG room. I count three but the last 2 are near impossible to maintain for any extended period of time unless your 1/2 man, 1/2 codimal. I agree that later rounds could use a spice up. Pretty much stuck either using traps or a wonder weapon. At the same time though that's when it takes a lot more teamwork in co-op games as now both players can't kill their hoards by themselves. I think that's what made COTD so interesting, the VR-11 gave co-op teams a unique way to go as high as they wanted but at the same time took lots of skill and teamwork to pull it off. Of course at the same time that map screwed over solo players. I was actually just about to write that solo players have no way of killing late hoards. Then realized that in theory they could use the flipper although it doesn't sound easy at all. Have any solo players tried developing a flipper strategy? Anyways, I hope there's more things like the VR-11 included in BO II.
  11. I wouldn't expect any less with a name as awesome as Tankeo! And to Kill All Monkeys: That's an interesting idea and I think I agree. There will always be the full map kiting option open, unless they make a non-connecting map which I don't think they will. But to make some maps with a lack of circling spots would give us that verruckt-style gameplay again, and I'm all for it!
  12. Hi Everyone, So I've seen a few people mentioning zombie AI in some posts and it seems like a very interesting and polarizing subject. So interesting I thought it deserved it's very own topic! (That being said sorry if there is already a topic on this, I searched but couldn't find one). There are surely people that think zombies are too hard, too easy, or everywhere in between! Would you like to see training disappear? Would you like a completely new way to play the game? Or would like the game to stay the same? Perhaps even get easier in the next installment? Personally I would like to see AI improvements to make the game harder. However, I don't think any play style should be completely blacklisted. I think they should make the game harder but still allow for unlimited play. (As in there's a way to keep going it just might be extremely challenging). I definitely don't think that the game should literally become impossible at some specific round. Now don't get me wrong, I love zombies the way it is, however to do "good" you're talking a serious time investment. I would like making it to 30 be like making it to 45 or so now. I think the added challenge would be exciting. And game time (co-op time especially) would be shortened drastically. So that's basically my reason for hoping for improved AI. Or at least being able to choose different difficulties. What do you guys think?
  13. That is an article written by a game reviewer. Treyarch has not confirmed a Zombie Campaign yet, although I do think it is likely to be in the game. Treyarch unveiled a campaign teaser at E3, not a zombie campaign. I think the reviewer was just stating what he thought would be included or had a source which he did not state. You can find a complete list of official Black Ops II news here: http://community.callofduty.com/community/call_of_duty/english/black_ops_2?view=overview
  14. Wow. You sir are my hero. [brains] And it's amazing that you used both traps for so long without a mistake. That 2nd trap is horrible!
  15. Hi Banks! The zombie film is very well done. It actually got me watching some of your other videos. I especially liked the cod 4 video and the one of the shoe lace, really great stuff! Hope you enjoy your stay!
  16. Hi Hooter, This has been a constant problem for many XBL players. For myself, "Five", NDU, and Ascension don't update and COTD is spotty at best. In fact Ascension has never updated for me as in it says I have never played the map (although the score updates). If you're trying to up your leaderboards I advise only playing maps which update for you. I'm not exactly sure why it happens but I highly doubt it will get fixed now or ever with BO II right around the corner.

  18. I like your ideas Undead xP. I think that adding in the ability for players to affect the map (through rock slides and the other things you mentioned) is a revolutionary idea for zombies. However I don't think that you should be able to block something like Jugg or the PaP in the map as this would be a constant by trolls in random lobbies ultimately negatively affecting gameplay. I definitely think weather should play a larger role as well. I would really like to see a very dark map with pouring rain and thunder and lighting. How creepy would it be to round a corner in a tight map and catch a lightening flash of a hoard running straight at you!! As for your mentioning of "Scare Mechanics" I completely agree. The game has lost a lot of its scariness post WaW. I remember playing WaW and having kids screaming (and even crying once) from fear when zombies jumped out at them. This pretty much never happens anymore and when it does I think they are faking it to be annoying. I think one way of fixing this is of course make creepier maps but also they could add in a new type of zombie. A zombie which when spawned does not go directly for any player, rather just chills in dark corners, and is only activated once a player gets within a predetermined proximity. Then you get that shock of a zombie jumping out at you. Also there would only be a few per round so it wouldn't affect gameplay too drastically. Good ideas. Eat some [brains]
  19. Good stories Way, although I would have been pissed if I had been the blue guy on kino! Anyways my experience with randoms has always been a mixed bag. I end up playing with randoms quite frequently actually. If I go on to play and I have no friends on, I wont hesitate jumping into a random lobby. That being said I've had great games with randoms and horrible games. I've had games that have gone great and actually made friends in random lobbies. My highs on SNN (40 started w/ 4 ended w/ 2) and Moon (37 w/ 4 suicide) were both random lobbies. However more times than not you get stuck with bunch of loads that make you want to pull your hair out. I have more stories than I can count about bad randoms (not to mention that COTD is now unplayable with randoms because they only want to glitch  ) but I will tell one recent encounter. The map was kino, everyone in the lobby had a mic except the green guy. People were talking and everyone was 20+ so I decided to give it a go. We start: me and the two mics are talking and getting along. I take the top window, all of a sudden I turn around and notice green guy standing behind me just staring. "ok, thats weird," I think to myself. He leaves, a few minutes later I here blue guy yelling at him. He's stealing blues kills. Later white guy starts bitching at him because he left his window open and white got downed. Around round four, he randomly jumps in front of me and starts taking my kills. Now usually when I get a window stealer I'll leave right then, but the rest of the team was getting along so I decided to stay. Now shortly after he's goes down. I make a point of doing the quickly tapping revive to try to make him die. Blue feels bad and gets in the revive. The game continues, basically we all came to the conclusion that green had no idea how to play the game. He didnt know where windows or guns were and would frequently get downed by a zombie in the back because of a stationary playstyle. Finally we get ready to open the power. I jump down initiate the link, grab jugg, and run into the lobby where I link the pad and grab quick revive. I'm running the lobby as the stage gets too crowded with randoms. I got a train going, suddenly green appears. He teleported instantly by himself. With not enough points to upgrade. The game continues, and we are nearing 20. Green teleports by himself everytime I hit the link. Now all three of the players are getting downed frequently. I hit the box and get ballistics. Perfect! I run to the stage look around, green is somewhere else. Initiate link. Run back and link the pad. I'm running to the stage almost there, and I see green teleport by himself. F*CKKKKKKKKKK. I decide to screw him over. Make a large hoard in the lobby. Green gets teleported in, hoard downs him within seconds. At the same time white and blue both go down. I wrap my hoard around for a second and decide to peek out to the stage. blue and white are both down right next to each other in the theater. They are surrounded by crawlers and nova crawlers as they blasted their zombies with the ray guy. I jump and dodge the crawlers and run towards the stage. No defib god dammit. I run my hoard back towards the stage to try another pass. It seems a little lighter but I dont think much about it. I take a peek, looks pretty clear. Start reviving blue and white at the same time. I start taking hits from the crawlers. Dammit got to go, blue and white tell me to just survive and accept their death. As I'm running back to lobby I hit 5 crawlers at the doorway. Turns out green had a ray gun and made a bunch crawlers from my hoard. I get sandwiched, game over. My advice, if you want to have a good game with randoms, make sure you get a lobby where everyone has a mic and seems friendly. Even one non-talker can make a good game go bad.
  20. Hi everyone, so I've been lurking around the site for a little while now and figured it was time to properly introduce myself. I am a Cod fanatic and have played the series since cod 4 (potentially the greatest game ever). I am an avid fan of zombies and I'm looking forward to BO II. I am also a Math nerd who just earned his Masters Degree! Lastly, I would like thank everyone here for making this a truly amazing forum. It is definitely a special place unlike many of the other forums tied to the cod series (MW3 forum flashback  ) I hope to make some worthy contributions to this already fantastic site! Thanks and hello :D
  21. This was kind of what I was thinking but not quite. How about a mystery perk-a-cola machine? It would work much like the mystery box works. It would be a set rate; $1500 sounds good. There would be a variety of different perks included. Like the mystery box, normal perks would act like wall guns and not be available in this machine. (So Jugg and so on would only be available through it's own machine.) The perks would range in effectiveness from great to near useless. On top of this you would have the option to take the perk or not (much like the mystery box). There may be even amazing perks available that only one player can hold at a time. (Like a Wunder-Weapon). And to add a fun twist perhaps even perks which hurt you, like something which makes you a zombie magnet so zombies are attracted to you in a far greater range. (Would be funny to see a noob grab that without realizing what it was ) Lastly, if such a thing was added into the game, I think there would need to be some sort of "perk manager" interface where you could switch out perks for others and wouldn't need to be downed to adjust your perk set-up. Now I don't really know what would be in the machine but there's some good ideas above A mystery perk machine seems like a natural progression of zombie gameplay and would allow a wide variety of new perks with the benefit of only adding one machine.
  22. ^This is true. However I'm almost at 200 kills now and only have 2 more deaths. My goal is too get into the 10's in k/d. That'd be sweet. Then get to the point I have 1000 kills, and see what I have then. Good luck man! I keep running into infected lobbies on cod 4 more and more. Usually you can still beast them but when they're under the map on Bog I rage. :x
  23. Can't draw too many conclusions from that sample size. Good job though 8-)
  24. Yes, I think I have earned them. I have never been "carried" to a high round. In all my leaderboards I've always pulled my weight and have done some carrying on my own. Once carried a squeaker to 38 on kino, he had over 50 downs...I had 1. He got the thunder gun early on, but didnt know how to use it and emptied it by round 15. I still consider that game of my best zombie performances ever. My highest Co-op ever was 48 on Shangri la with two and it was the most taxing game ever. We spent hours (literally 2-3 hours) just hitting the box to recycle the Shrink Ray, or to get a new crossbow. We ran circles at MPL and AK74u and those circles are tight and horrible. Not to mention that the crossbow is terrible on this map and almost never saved me. We both had over 20 downs at the end of the game. We earned it. I would say in general as long as you're not cheating then you earned it. Some people will get carried a little higher then they belong, but I don't see anyone getting carried past 40.
