  1. Good luck D. I keep getting trapped in the 30's on Tranzit.
  2. Also, once downed, you can simply go get them again from tcp, even if you have to lug them back over, one at a time. I wonder: you go down, lose the mk staff, and the other two are in limbo. I wonder of someone can grab one from the dig site, thereby duping the staves. I doubt it, and couldn't check solo...but it might work like the old 'dupe the flamethrower' trick from waw. This was a great find. With all of these glitches that ruin the game, it's nice to have one that improves it. The down side is having to constantly get the 'charged staff didn't fire' glitch, that was rampant while running 3 staves and was the reason that i died. Any bets that Trollarch would patch the 3 staves, yet leave the 'no shot fired' charged staff glitch untouched? That would be typical...
  3. Hmm. I have an interesting theory on luck/glitches, entanglement; I believe that there is a chance of stuff Glitching, and each of us effects the world around us from our experiences. I have always had 'poltergeist syndrome' where my psyche effects reality. I have always been one to find errors/glitches/bugs in games, due to me effecting reality and the chances of these showing up. If you know physics/M theory/whatever we want to call it now theory, we all effect the universe around us. Many have no variable in their personal luck, so don't believe in luck because it affects them so little and doesn't vary. Others, myself and a few close friends, have luck that varies so much from good to ill, that it is obvious that luck makes or breaks otherwise mundane situations. If a normal human walks into an ancient abandoned castle, their 'observance' effects reality; dust/stones may fall now that there is a conscience to effect them. If i walk in, a lot more happens. We effect reality. I glitch the universe, so it's no surprise that i bring out the worst in games. It sounds crazy, but this is how reality works. On mw3/bo1 it is a matter of opinion is all. Nobody has to like mw3 better than bo1. Maybe we can agreed that they both suck... I never even bought the last map pack for mw3. I did in bo1, due to zombies and playing offline bots, splitscreen, with fiends. But now i splitscreen bo2/ghosts, and i waw/bo2 zombie (shrug). Thanks for dealing with me being jerky. I just constantly die to glitches, glad not everyone suffers as i do. Happy not glitching!
  4. With rare exceptions, run counter clockwise. Out is simply easier on the controls and usually (map dependent) is an easier run. If I'm in a room running cc trains, why would you enter my room and start running clockwise? If you must enter my area, please tell me exactly when it is happening, so we can coordinate the trains, rather than me running onto your crowd/vice versa. I gave up on randoms in waw der riese. Played with 1 on Die Rise, who said 'I'm drunk' and left on round 25, so no more randoms again.
  5. Yeah, it was so bad. Then people found a way to have fun with it anyway. I was glad to have it almost be useful. Thankfully Trollarch patched it so we wouldn't enjoy it at all. (eyes= rolled)
  6. Again, i don't hate it just trying to pinpoint why it went so wrong. KS: DR is loved by many because of the lack of busywork. Just fyi, i checked who played what map the other day. Now i know that many don't have all the map packs, but was still surprised: Half were playing green run, slightly over half of then were playing Town survival. Top maps at that time in order: Town, origins, buried, tranzit. With the others around 1000 or less players. Not many in Die Rise... Edit: Basic Town Survival beats all other maps. 3.3k players, 2.5k in Origins, 2.2k in Buried, 2k in Tranzit. 1.2 in motd, 1k in Dr. 580 in nuke town (probably would rival town if not for the retarded perk drops). Trollarch please take note: shooting zombies is the fun. Being annoyed is annoying (sorry, i will keep trying to get this through their thick heads). IL: but do you run in the bus depot, or the street in front of it? Though you did claim to actually run the Farm section (kudos for that), most just play in the street in front of farm. Do you run diner? Or do you run the street in front of the garage? That's my point. Ndu has no guns, town, the other spot not played in the street, has no guns. The map is mostly street.
  7. The game cheats, so cheat back... <3 Glitching Queen. I do understand that some of you fear this will hurt legitimate rounds, but the cheating is catchable in theater, leaderboards are hacked, the game is a glitchy mess, and by my best number crunching, less than 3% of zombie players make it past round 30 on Origins. So, i think this will make more happy players than unhappy players. I would not do this for my high round runs, but I'll try this for solo fun. Happy Glitching! To Treyarch, remember that your terrible programming led to the plethora of gun glitches which, in turn, made waw zombies. This game would not be here without glitches. Just a reminder. You guys love to fix fun glitches while leaving game breaking ones intact, so look to the bigger issues than this first...for a change for the better.
  8. I'm torn in theory as they both had features that i like. But in the long run, i play waw and bo2 zombies. Bo1 game glitches were too game-ending, too often, moreso even than bo2. And the wall guns ruined bo1. The mpl and mp5 needed double ammo or to be replaced with a proper wall gun. Simply replacing one or the other with the mp40 could have saved the replay value of bo1. The knife/sickle doing zero damage constantly, plus the 'stab your teammate to death when they revive you' glitches really needed to be patched, not ignored. Not listing favorites: Bo1, like all but moon. Waw, bo2, all are okay.
  9. This probably isn't the most common reason, but this is one that i experienced: Old xbox died, bought new one. It would freeze, skip, lag; i was watching the worst zombie frame rate the other day with my buddy that i never had issues with. It was plugged in where my old one was plugged in. I guess the new one is more power hungry and the other stuff in my game room was using up the amps on the circuit. So, i plugged my xbox into a dedicated ac wall outlet and my issues disappeared. Did not expect...
  10. Some are just better at this stuff, and paying attention in general. Many of us pay mental and visual attention as we grab parts, many just grab the part and wouldn't know where they got it 10 seconds later. We are usually good at knowing the layout of the map after going through it once or twice also. Just like driving somewhere new or walking through a new building: we would know the way back/out without needing directions. I used to have to babysit my friends when we went to some random city to see a concert...they just mentally vacate... I get a lot of 'okay, I'll just follow you'.
  11. Black ops 1 zombies: what are your 3 favorite things and your 3 least favorite things? Favorites: Map design: really some cool designs. Wonder weapons: yeah, the vrill gun may be lacking, but that map also gave us the original (nerfed) wunderwaffe, and the exploding sniper. PHD Flopper. I wish this legitimately came back, even if 4000 points to keep it as it was. I would love to have this machine in the crazy place, for a different take on Origins. Nonfavorites: Wall buys. The wall guns barely changed from map to map and the go-to guns for early rounds did not have enough ammo. The mpl and mp5 badly needed a boost since kino, which failed to come. This is one of the reasons that i almost never play bo1. Sure, 2 maps had the mp40 wall buy, but in kino, it was easy enough to get the bk early or hit the box. And in cotd, it was simply too far out in the map. This should have always been where either the mpl or mp5 was. Total failure that is hard to get past as a hard core zombie fan. Stab your reviver bug: Since kino,i awaited the patch for this bug. It is still there. Due to my splitscreen buddy stabbing everything he could while standing or crawling on his butt, probably half of our games ended when he stabbed me. How did this game-breaker never get patched? Kniving (sickling) does nothing 1 in 10 stabs. Knife locks onto zombies about 6+ feet away, but there are two closer zombies. Stab, sickle sinks into zombies chest, no points are given, it's pulled out with a big blood splash, and the zombie is unharmed, now you're trapped in a corner, once again, by Trollarch's poor programming. I'm sure they'll patch it... No. No. It's just a game-ending, game-breaking extremely common glitch, so why not completely ignore it? Troll on, Trollarch... Why don't they patch game-ruining glitches? Or, you know, the leaderboards?
  12. On the topic: i probably like Tranzit more than most, but it is lacking, which I'll touch on in a second. What i do like is that you can jump right into playing, minus the busywork. The main busywork in the game is building the Jetgun, which is nearly pointless, so easily skipped. After all is said and done, here is what Tranzit gave us: Galvaknuckles. A double-price Bowie knife that i believe resets faster between hits, lasts through 13, and in this map; keeps burning zombies from exploding when punched (when bk stabbed, they explode). Zombie Shield? Yeah, that's really it. --- Everything else: Added annoyance: fog, denizens, exploding zombies, lava. Nothing too bad, but it didn't improve the game, only detracted from the fun. Map: it's not a bunch of small maps. It's almost no maps; let's see, we have the bus, a new and interesting mobile platform map and we have town, where you play in the bar and jugger apt, and a piece of NDU. That's it. Do you play in Bus Depot, farm, diner, power? No. You play in the street, including the tunnel. Besides the bus, NDU, and town, it's street only. That is the map, kind of lame really. And the town didn't even have a wall buy for a gun (Same with NDU mock up). Bank? No need. It makes speed starts in Die Rise, which is probably it's best use. It's not needed, yet so abusable in Buried. One can use it to save a little time in Tranzit, but it really didn't make or break the map. Wonder weapon: busywork to build, overheats easy, can't move when using it, draws you into the crowd, needs to be held out to cool down. It just sucks. Now, it can kill at high rounds, but bullets kill until roughly 45, the overwhelming number of zombie players will never make it to 45 on Tranzit, making this a total waste to 95% of zombie players. Turbine: is needed for doors/pap, but could have been left out and wouldn't be missed. As for powering buildables, they suck and it runs down on power so quick, that even if they didn't suck so bad, the quick down time would still make this a bad deal. Electric trap: the other day i went out of my way to set this up with a new turbine at the start of round 10. It killed 3-5 zombies before going into downtime and the zombies beat it down. So, useless on round 10 when it should be designed for late game use, lasting through round 40+. Total failure. Pap runs on it's own battery, this has a battery, yet needs the turbine. Turret: almost lasts, but has friendly fire; point it at the zombies (where you are) and you die. Point it away and they simply come up behind it and destroy it. Total fail. Mind-boggling how bad all the buildables are, even for a new mechanic. Shield: What? Something useful? Sure, but are you gonna run every other round back to the diner to get one? Even from tunnel or farm, the two most popular run spots, it is a pain and not usually worth the effort. Boss zombie: just another mild annoyance, basically exists to be part of the Easter egg. Easter egg: fighting under the tower was kind of cool, the rest, forgettable. And Navcard tables, Geez... So, broken down, Tranzit is no wonder weapon, barely any map, disappointing buildables, pointless annoyances, and an improved double-priced knife. Annoyance, disappointment, Galvaknuckles... It's redeeming value is like Die Rise (a much better map): jump in and play without too much to do besides shoot zombies. So, 2 years of waiting for so much fail, so little map, and Galvaknuckles. It's a wonder that i like it at all.
  13. Thanks Sith. I don't play hc, so i haven't talked about it. If there is information on it, what has or hasn't changed, feel free to post it here. Dlc guns: dlc1 added the Maverick assault rifle and it's alternate personality, the Maverick-A2 sniper rifle. They are both unlocked, but attachments must be bought (except local/private match, where all are unlocked). Now available for purchase without the map pack. Assault rifle: high damage up close, almost fills an smg role. Mediocre at range. It's fair, far from the best, not the worst. Best at close range. Sniper rifle: unique tracker/sniper scope. High recoil. Wimpy with silencer, pretty much requires chrome barrel. It is bad, but fun with a cool scope. Each shot leaves you star-gazing due to recoil. Dlc2 brings us the Ripper: Season pass holders have access to this already, the rest of you must wait until April 3, you will get it with the maps. Now available to purchase without the map pack. Ripper: While ads, click the RS to switch between SMG mode and AR mode; SMG mode gives you a small post iron sight, lots of view. The AR mode flips up a unique green holographic sight with green dot. This is a quite easy to use gun. The green dot occasionally is a little hard to see against some bright backgrounds, but this will be used by most, expect to see these in action. I tried it with 3 attachments: silencer, grip, rapid fire and it was compatible to using the MTARX. Since i don't normally rock 3 attachments, i tried without the silencer and it was almost as easy to use, despite rapid fire at range. Don't overlook this one, it is in a higher class than the Maverick. DLC3 added a Gold (Combat) Knife available at 5th prestige and a Gold PDW automatic machine pistol secondary, available at 10th prestige. Gold Knife: exactly like the Combat Knife minus the 'grab and push' animation, just a quick slash. Gold PDW: auto fire, all attachments come unlocked with it. Happy gaming!

    Dome? Seriously?

So, first dlc, you took a mediocre map (Scrapyard-Ingnition) mostly known for the spawn tubing that ensued on it. You added a cool rocket, some burning interactives, and basically took out all of the parkour which essentially turned it into a black ops map. It is one of the worst maps in ghosts now. Dlc 2: Remake Dome. Wow, one of the worst iw maps ever made. Why do i doubt that you have improved it? So, in an effort to keep you from being even stupider in dlc 3 and/or 4, i will list the maps that are hated so you don't reprint anymore shit maps. Do not ever, ever remake: Arkaden, Resistance (iw's nubetown), bootleg, hardhat, and probably you should skip Rust, though it would have been a better choice than Dome. Popular favorites that, while overplayed, sure beat the shit listed above and Dome: Estate, Karachi, Invasion, Afghan, Black Box, Piazza, Liberation, Wasteland, Mission, more. You guys have made so many good maps, please don't reprint the few that are revoltingly awful, like Dome. One thing Trollarch taught us well: small maps = bad maps. I know that you don't like to learn from them, but please understand this important fact. Dome? Seriously? That map really sucks.
  15. I'm not hating on the map, just genuinely curious. Not the 'Gersch device/previously killed cosmonaut is now moonwalking fast' glitch, but the 'cosmonaut literally vanishing, reappears holding onto you' glitch? It was the glitch that broke this map for me. My one friend swears that he only experiences it while playing with me. I always encountered it, solo, split-screen, and 2 man games. My split-screen buddy has seen it countless times, on my xbox. But it literally only seems to be on my (old) xbox (haven't played moon on the new one). Example: my friend and i come down from the bowie knife room, pass the cosmo by the pyramid. I'm in front, he is following me. I go past the power switch, the tunnel door opens and the cosmonaut is now holding me (and always takes jugger, every time). So, this was my bane in moon, coupled with the stupidity of sc/jugger placement. So, is this some unique glitch that can only be experienced by me/playing with me, or are some of you getting this error too? Sorry for always bashing moon, i know some of you love it. Just looking for a reasonable explanation why i keep getting f'd by a glitch that most don't seem to experience. So y/n, does it happen to you frequently/at all? Thanks. Happy gaming!
  16. Um, really? Glitches are the main reason solo players die. Screen blanks as if stepped on or run over by tank. Tank isn't moving, not near footprint. That's a common glitch. Fully charged (any) staff: release trigger, didn't fire, keeps making charging sound. Extremely common glitch leads to death. Round 2 zombie takes 8 chest shots, 3 stabs and then gets a second hit on you because you are now backed into the corner due to common glitch. I ran a 100 game test before origins came out. 53 games (53%) ended as a direct result of programming error/bug. Origins came out, ran 50 games of origins, 32 (64%) ended as a direct result of bugs/programming errors. I've noticed from your posts that you often seem to not run into these issues. Making you the luckiest poster on these boards. Side note: while i do personally like bo2 zombies better than bo1, above I was really dissing the awful bo1 cod mp, being the worst cod to date (i think even mw3 was better, but accept that it was also really bad). No offense meant at all, but your comment was far removed from reality.
  17. Plus, i would like to throw out the possibility of social psychology: most under 30 are on a stage where they crave human interaction. Most over 30 relish their alone time. I feel that this definitely applies to me; i was always out to do something/anything everyday of the week, and now, don't care in the slightest about being social. A good friends or two in the comfort of my home beats a large gathering any day. The same with zombies: give me my one online zombie pal, or my rl splitscreen buddy comes over. That beats a full lobby of randies any day.

Edit: thanks DBZ. I'll try to adress some of your complaints, help you through them. Mud: only on the tank path and the edges of the robot footprints. Tank path is wide, just hop along past the zombies. It isn't uncommon for me to be hopping backwards, shooting as i go. The footprints only have mud that slows you around the edges, so when you get to one, jump to the middle hump, run a few feet, jump out of footprint to path. Panzer Soldat (the boss with the claw and fire): it is easy to keep your distance from him to avoid the fire. The claw attack fires in a straight line and makes a certain noise, so just jump sideways as he fires at you to avoid it. If he gets you, shoot the red circle on his chest to be let go. Or just shoot his face/faceplate. If he downs you, unload on his face while down. To kill him, shoot his faceplate, it explodes, exposing a lit-up face, shoot his face. The easiest is with any staff, by round 8 (when he comes) you should regularly have a staff or several built. Just keep your distance and carefully unload a few shots to his face, he goes down quick. He makes players panic, which is really his greatest weapon. Once you figure out how easy he is to take down, he won't have power over you any more. If you have no staff, just keep outrunning him, shooting the zombies that are faster than he until you have an unobstructed view, fire at the face plate/face from a distance. Don't panic, don't fear the claw, just jump out of its way (always turn to fight him in a wide area, don't stop in a narrow trench). Don't activate more than 3 generators until you really want to pap a gun. If 3 or less are active, the pesky zombies won't attack the generators. Turn on g1 for qr (solo), g4 for jugger, g6 for the staff part (should you want it). The large robots shouldn't be a big deal. Sometimes it is trouble trying to get the wind staff parts solo. More needless tedium than challenge. Early on, just train them around the center dig site, hop down the muddy tank path at each end until you develope your own paths. Use the Mauser/stabs early, dig up guns for the early game. The points are too constrained to waste on the box. Everyone plays different but this is my solo start: round 1 stab all but one zombie. Lead him way downstairs, run up, activate the g1, stab as many as you can until they stop giving you points or you let the generator activate (you can step off of the metal plate to keep it from finishing, be sure to be on it when it does finish or you lose 200 points-it costs 200 to activate, which you get back if you are on the metal plate when it finishes, plus you get 100 points for activating it). This opens the reward chest, in solo, this is x2. Kill last zombie. Round 2, gather them up on the bottom room until the whole crowd is there. Run up to the chest, take x2, kill all zombies with shots, stabs (hopefully no bomb). You should have 4000+ points. Stabs give the most points, be sure to finish them that way, but firing through the crowd with x2 is a good idea. Round 3, you probably have no ammo. Fix the upstairs windows. Wait as long as possible, open to g2. Try to run up and stab them 1 at a time, dig the dig spots (hopefully get ballista or dsr), grab the g2 stuff (blue record, tablet, shield part) and hit the digs (probably snowing, probably get ice staff piece). Go through the work shop doors to no mans land. Activate g4, buy jugger. Get shield part (in the footstep behind jugger, or the next two footprints in line). If you still have 500+ buy qr if you feel you should now, or buy the start room door to g3, check the 2 spots for shield, build shield (at g4 wind tunnel or in the workshop, i use g4 tunnel). Round 4: by the end, you should have 2000ish, if no snow, i tend to open the dig site for the gramophone. If snowing, I'll open the church to search for ice staff parts. Round 5: here it can go many ways. If i opened the dig site and it still isn't snowing, I'll probably open g5 area, get yellow record, go to g4 wind tunnel, go to crazy place (gramophone on table at bottom of tunnel) and train down there for a couple of easy opint-building rounds, grab yellow crystal, come up before 8, get parts, build staff to fight PS boss zombie. If the game kept snowing, i would most likely have the ice staff parts, then would concentrate on opening the dig site and building the ice staff (ice tunnel by g6, record by g2, gramophone from dig site) to fight the PS zombie. I hope that this helps somewhat.

Man, how are you getting the rain fire step done solo? I've seen videos, i do it perfectly...and the hole never opens. I land it right there, i do it as quick add in the videos...or did they change it now to be easier? Sigh. This is one of the side quests that i enjoyed the most, but solo just keeps not letting me have my fun... So, any good tips for that step or do i just have to suffer until i get it to work?
  20. I'm a thread spamming poster, but at least I'm verbose. On the one side, posts make the site, the more people post, the better for the forum. However, empty posts really add little to the discussion: the worst aren't 'i agree' or 'disagree' but the ones with no punctuation, no clear question or no clear response. Thoughts: Think before you post: how do i want to convey my thought clearly? Don't post mad: look at origins worst map post from today; the poster was clearly upset with Origins gameplay. There was no request for help, no proofreading, no thought put into his/her gripe, just rage posted. No offense meant to the poster, i tried to offer help. I just feel like they said their piece and i wonder if they'll ever visit again. I feel that if they had thought about their post, then posted while calm, they would have come at the problem from a 'can someone help me?' standpoint, getting better responses, rather than just opining away how bad Origins is. Besides, bitching at Trollarch is my job. If the op posted something that really helped you, give them brains instead of 3 word praise. Don't be shy: we all have our agree-ers and disagree-ers. Say your piece. If it is based on facts, it will be agreed with or you will learn how you were incorrect, learning is good. If you state opinion, that is fine too, just be respectful because, trust me, people will disagree. Have a sense of humor, but understand that sarcasm and humor don't come across clear in text. So /sarcasm or even a smiley face keeps people from thinking that you're retarded, when really you were joking. So, think, format, proofread, discuss, post. Happy posting!

Not having much luck with this one, huh? It certainly is a bit more challenge than some of these other super easy maps. It is a bit rough to acclimate to at first, but once you overcome that it will be rewarding. Try this easier method: get jugger, open the center dig site for the gramophone. Open g5 for the yellow record. Set up the gramophone at the bottom of the wind tunnel (g4). Go down to the crazy place. Don't grab a crystal, just train them down there without the walls falling. You'll hit 40 easy and that will help build your confidence. Good luck and happy gaming!
  22. Why are people saying they left Der Riese for shi no numa when snn came first? My thoughts: several places existed where they did experiments. Origins: discovered zombies/115, but too many dead = overrun with zombies. Snn: a place where Richtofen worked on ww, a place of less dead. A giant 115 meteor to mine for 115. Safe from war. In origins, he says that so much of their work was lost to the war. At this point maxis, as a brain, joins Sam. Ric takes the others, who are now embroiled in this with him, possibly brainwashed as they were originally all agents to discover what was going on. To Ric, they are tools to be used: good zombie fighters, but brainwashed to not report back to their govs, helping him instead. Clearly he is the Doctor of Doctors Quarters, come to get 115, notes, ww, or support (but everyone dead from the outbreak-according to the sounds files, and 'the giant' der riese, must go on). So from snn, Ric heads off to Der Riese to continue his changing plans... So Ric had been to Der Riese, but as of this point, not with the o4 group. After snn, they all head to DR, because the tps are in Rics evolving plans. Idk, that's what i get out of it.
  23. Wow, that was more than i expected, you really thought about that. My fix would be close to Slade's: take regular survival maps, then either 2 human/2 smart zombies (in with the regular zombies, or 4h/4sz in 8 man games). Leaderboards show highest rounds survived for humans, lowest round win for zombies. Basic perks/guns from wall or box. Just normal survival, but some zombies are player controlled. Either no monkey bomb or sz (smart zombies/player controlled zombies) are immune. Players get downed/revived like normal. Zombies respawn unless max zombies per round have been reached. Custom games: pick zombies or players. Public: choose desired side before game search. Option to join existing game as other side if none open. So you pick to play as zombies, game finds nearby game needing human, asks if you wish to join anyway. Does not affect regular stats, just 'new turned' stats/leaderboard. Edit: join game as human: may need to wait until start of new round. Would start with a certain amount of points based on the round, or possibly start with jugger/speed cola/basic rifle or smg, maybe dependent on the round...needs testing.
  24. I fell for this one: drop your last bb as you teleport in Der Riese to get another gun slot. That you would get 20 or 30 points by laying in front of the perk machines on Der Riese. This is almost true: the game would claim to give you 20 or 30 points, but despite what your score showed, it always gave 25. I assume that the game wasn't designed back then to show a 5 at the end of your score. So, you need 30 points to buy the Bowie knife, hit up a machine, it claims to give you 30 points, so now your points is 3000 on screen, but you can't buy the bk because you actually only have 2995. This is true.
  25. So origins is bad, moon is good? Each to their own, i guess. Also the four lame reprints in bo are so different than the originals as to warrant their own place in line, in my opinion. Also you lost the t in verruckt (and we need an umlat). Note that in waw, it was Zombie Verruckt, slightly different name. Sorry i didn't list my favorites as i suck at that usually. I still play: all bo2, and waws dr and snn. Tranzit is lacking and i tend to like, but avoid motd, due to its linear play. Hate moon, dislike the bad reprints. Rarely touch bo1 zombies because the wall guns were absolute crap and the same in every map. Cotd and ascension being my most played, in their time. Edit: hate nuketown (random perk drops suck ass), rarely play any survival maps anymore.
