    Intel

In the build up to DLC 3's The Tortured Path, lots of juicy intel has been released by WWII developer Cameron Dayton. Most of the intel (aside the trailer which didn't get released until right before the DLC itself dropped) shows a backstory of the BAT agents and lots of backstory towards the current story. ==========TRAILER========== ==========TWITTER INTEL==========

    Spawning the Purple Apothicons

Reading up on r/CODZombies this morning, found this particular post by u/TheEmptyJuiceBox: https://www.reddit.com/r/CODZombies/comments/634usj/confirmed_how_to_reliably_spawn_in_purple/ Very interesting to see that there's a confirmable way to spawn purple enemies. For a long time, we thought it was random but only available after the Easter Egg was completed, and even then, it was only with the Margwas. But now that it's been extended, want to see what everyone else thinks of this. There has also been rumors lately regarding new finds on Shadows of Evil, including unused assets and a duplicate Apothicon Servant [each] part using a mod menu. About a week ago, the map files were also leaked and the cocoon models that would've create a quest for the upgraded AS were available.

    My Apologies

Hey friendos! It's been a damn good while since I've...well, really been active here in the past few months. As a member of the community and especially Administrator, this is totally unacceptable. So let me start off by apologizing for my inactivity. Lots of things have happened, both good and bad, and it severely limited my appearance and ability to run things smoothly like I vowed to you all some years ago when I was brought on to the admin team. Where did I go? Most of you know that I've aligned myself with the guys over at Zombies World Championship last year. For those that don't know who they are, they're the first ever Zombies championship to be not only officially recognized by Activision and the developers (Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer), but to be actually executed as a major physical tournament right in Los Angeles, CA (where I live). I became great friends with co-creators Mcsportzhawk (Matt) and Jose and offerred my assistance by using CODZ as a platform via Twitter, the site, our presence on Reddit, etc. What was simple boosting on social media turned to us forming an awesome relationship and soon turned into me going full-time with them for marketing while using CODZ as one of many plugs. It's been awesome yet stressful at the same time. But it did come at a price. I've been so in love with ZWC that I preemptively neglected this home right here. It wasn't that I didn't care for it - I simply had difficult balancing the two. I figured with such a glowing community and supportive staff, I'd be able to quietly slip in and out and things would just automate themselves here. The result was a broken forum software that wasn't properly being upgraded, funding was slipping through the cracks to keep CODZ online, and activity drastically dropped because I couldn't keep up with optimizing the site to feel more at home for the members. After ZWC 2017 ended, I was able to come back and work a bit more but I realized how gone I was. Seeing that now makes me disappointed in myself as a leader and friend to you all. It also didn't help that I was failing college as a 5th year engineering student, so close to graduating but kept stumbling. It put me in my current position, where I was almost completely kicked out but gracefully was given a second chance to show I could do better academically. I dealt with a move and changed several close relationships I had with people to re-find myself, as I was probably the most unorganized POS you'd ever know, haha. For that, I'm truly sorry to have seemingly abandoned everyone here. Things will change. Given my heavier involvement with ZWC2 this year and more relationships to wonderful people and millions of fans just like us, I'm shifting a lot around to keep CODZ at the Top 3 of my priority in the online world (one is reserved for watching Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer, @Lenne it's time to bust out the popcorn). But seriously, there will be more forum upgrades, content, and support to keep this platform 24/7 at full speed. There are lot of things I need to fix up, but I'll make time for it guaranteed. And with the announcement of Black Ops 4, there is a helluva lot of content coming our way in the Zombies world. We have all the tools and assets ready to go to receiving the incoming fresh faces, and I know how awesome you all are for welcome each person into this family of ours. With that, thank you all for being the reasons why CODZ is even alive, and what really has shaped the site into what we know it - a family.

    Retrospective.

@The Meh So glad to have you in this close-knit family, friendo! It's been a very, very long time. Growing up on Zombies in a community that shares love for it is so strong, especially in a time where the internet is bustling more like ever and the world of close communication has seemingly died off...we still hold a torch to keep the fires warm. Cheers to more years and great fun, my good comrade!

    The Ancient Trials 2017 Tournament

The Arena will be an online coliseum designed for slayers from all universes to compete against one another. With the integration of the Keeper Trials, codenamed "The Ancient Trials", challenges will be held either weekly or bi-weekly in the span of one full "season" (8 months). Players who prove themselves to be among the best of the best will be selected to compete in our famous Zombies Olympics. Ancient Trials Champions June - @TXMR May - ViggyTheBear April - @sushine1 March - @andydabeast February - @mralways1 January - @Neanesis Current Challenge How It Works Every month will include its own tournament bracket, with 4 rounds pertaining to 4 weeks in a given month. The overall winners of the monthly tournaments automatically advance into the Olympics, as they have "clinched" their division. Imagine it just as a regular sports season if you will. After the season has finished (which will be around the end of August), the Zombie Olympics will be underway in which 32 overall winners will compete to the death to prove their dominance in the Aether. This isn't any vague woo-ooo-oo tournament...we're talking about the big show. The Olympics will be live broadcasted on the CoDz Twitch page for the world to see, along with a special large grand prize for the champion of the realm. *Note: It is possible that a wildcard may advance into the Olympics if a clinched player does not appear in time for the final tournament. In that event, more information will be disclosed on how to advance. The match system in all tournaments is Swiss style - meaning there is no elimination if you lose a match. Your score is recorded as a W/L ratio against everyone in the month. The objective is to hold more wins against all your fellow slayers...so get used to making frenemies. Prizes & Rewards What good tournament/challenge doesn't have some form of reward system? As part of the CoDz initiative, the Ancient ones have graciously decided to give tournament leaders prizes for their hard-earned wins leading up to the Zombie Olympics, which may include (but are not limited to): 250 Divinium per overall tournament win Xbox / Playstation / Steam gift cards Exclusive Zombies merch not available in the Divinium Factory Special forum medal showcasing you're a winner of the Keeper Trials [REDACTED] for winning the Zombie Olympics ...and much much more! For more information regarding how Divinium works within CoDz, click here. Registration Rather than text-submitting your application, we will now utilize Challonge - a tournament platform designed with the gamer's interests in mind. All challenges within the Ancient Trials, including the Zombie Olympics (as well as other monthly tournaments), will be held on Challonge and require signing up...but don't worry: it's easy and free to register. Click here to sign up for the Ancient Trials Once you've registered, your stats will be recorded against other slayers in a race to win special prizes from challenges and tournaments, including Divinium, gift cards, free Zombies memorabilia, and much much more! What is there to lose other than your soul? Tournament Specifics As of right now, the tournament (and this challenge) has begun. To keep track of participants, use this link to see each player standing. Although the current system on Challonge states that players will go up against one another, scores will actually be inputted based on highest round/score obtainable throughout each challenge. The stats on Challonge are not reflective of true scores - they are only to show how many participants have entered and what they scored in. Scoring System Welcome to Merciless Mode, where the scoring of each challenge is vastly different compared to the previous months. In Merciless Mode, players are ranked against one another instead of round variance. This means the top slayer of a challenge will receive a score of 4, the 2nd top slayer a score of 3, so on and so forth. This is to test the true mettle of each slayer instead of allowing one slayer to dominate a challenge and then still win the month despite a poor performance in other challenges. Here is an example: Player A (R14) - 4pts Player C (R11) - 3pts Player D (R6) - 2pts Player B (R5) - 1pt To see the true results of each tournament, use the following link(s) below: Ancient Trials February 2017 Tournament Ancient Trials January 2017 Tournament This spreadsheet will display each player's scores per challenge, and also include the Top 3 slayers of the monthly tournament. Use this as your reference for overall scoring, not the Challonge brackets. To submit your results, please click here to complete the submission form. Before you jump into your first (or next) challenge/tournament, there are a few things you should know about the Arena. Unlike most match systems, our competition setup scores in real-time, which means you can see who moves up in the ranks, whose group takes the lead, and where each slayer stands in the entire challenge. Now that’s what we call omnipotent. Alongside the new battling experience, we’ve also included new modes of challenges with fan-favorites such as: Blitzkrieg (new!) Starting Room Russian Roulette (new!) Team Deathmatch Hunted (new!) Powerless …and many more! An example of the live broadcast of a typical challenge would be as shown below: http://challonge.com/codz_holiday_blitzkrieg Rules/Guidelines As is with any universe, there are certain rules that every survivor must adhere to in order to ensure balance within each universe – the same follows for the Arena. Every rule must be complied with regardless of any challenge or tournament a player participates in. Failure to comply will result in tournament suspension, and possibly the heavier consequence of a permanent ban from the Arena. Gasp! Registration All players must register within the Arena website in order to compete in any specific challenge. You may also register on Challonge as well, if you wish to receive instant updates on scores and tournament specifics. Substitution from another competitor is prohibited during active challenges. For example, you cannot have another slayer play under your name while in the middle of a challenge. Register with integrity. The worst thing you can do is sign up as someone else as a joke, only to have your winnings go to them. Code of Conduct Bribing/begging/harassing another player or staff member is prohibited. (Bribing, really??) All discussions – both in-game and on the site – are to be civilized. Profanity and smack talk is allowed with self-control. Any form of cheating, whether glitching/hacking/modding/exploiting of any game mechanic where unintended within the game, is strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate casting into the Aether. Extra rules will be supplied at the announcement of each challenge, and must be adhered to whereas not stated in these set of general guidelines. Winnings Winners of specific challenges with grand prizes are permitted to one prize unless conditions state otherwise. Players who are overall winners of a challenge and/or tournament must fulfill the required information correctly to ensure they receive their winnings. Bartering with other players for prizes within the Arena is not allowed. Any prize won will be delivered to the given email/address presented to the staff by the player. The Arena and CoDz staff is not responsible for any stolen/lost/damaged prizes upon reception. By registering for the Ancient Trials now on Challonge, you are taking your first step to securing a better tomorrow...even if there are still a few days before the new year comes.

    The Ancient Trials 2017 Tournament

Hey friendo - welcome back! So good to see you again! Right now, CoDz has been focusing on ZWC2 which just opened its tournament yesterday. I'd recommend jumping into it, since lots of new changes and a bigger prize pool got announced.

Dwellers Are Back + CoDz March Update

Hey friendos! No, we haven't forgotten about you. Things have been rather slow on the Zombies front but many exciting changes happened throughout the past few months and we want to get everyone up to speed. First and foremost, the staff have decided to bring back our Dwellers group and add new trainees under it! For those who are much newer to CoDz, the Dwellers group was once a interim-staff inclusion group that highlighted prominent leaders within the community. These individuals contributed time, effort, quality, and most importantly, passion for CoDz. While everyone deserves some kind of title like this (being honest!), these particular users continue to be shining examples and are tasked specifically with very important roles in the future to come. Please help me congratulate @RequixEclipse @anonymous @RadZakpak as our first and newest additions to the Dwellers! I can't wait to see how y'all will do. Secondly, we've added a Black Ops IV forum in light of recent news and tons of media hype. Please be wary of any "leaks" you may come across in the coming months until official announcements have been made. Happy slaying, friendos!

    Medal Request Topic

All fixed up friendo! This was a glitch that actually occurred during a system update some months back, where Primary groups got defaulted for some reason to Member if they were in a group that got automatically managed by the system upon completing a forum action. Donors are the only group that we don't need to manually manage until there's an error (like this one :p ).

    (Explained) Loose Ends

Hey friendos! Despite Revelations giving what most fans considered a "lackluster" and "terrible" ending to the Zombies saga we've come to love, lots of light was shed on many open questions that we originally could not answer prior to Gorod Krovi. And this doesn't reach just into Black Ops 3, but BO AND BOII as well. Let's take a look at what we can tie up right now: Universe vs. Multiverse In the beginning, we almost certainly believed the entire Zombies story to take place in one, single universe. There were hints via Kino der Toten that an alternate universe was possible, but many refused to accept it without more evidence. Once Origins and Mob of the Dead came along, that hard-headed thinking changed drastically. Monty himself claims that we live in a multiverse, yet inhabit one single universe. There have always been multiple universes - but we just never had a problem with it until now. We understand that the universe was fractured; however, not in the way we thought it was. According to Monty, everything changed when Group 935 started experimenting with teleportation. The very fabric of time and space itself began to tear, as per the only thread that held it: Element 115. Y'see, Element 115 is not meant to have existed within the physical dimension. It's more of an ethereal, non-physical blanket that encompasses the multiverse to keep everything linear and connected, but not open. When our universe got their hands on the element (somehow), we kept creating tears in time/space itself, allowing other universes to bleed through. This is how the Apothicons devour universes: sending Element 115 into universes where it doesn't belong, forcing a tear to open up as a gateway. Once the tear is large enough, they can enter the universes and begin consumption. This leads into another interesting concept. Aether & Agartha Leading up to Black Ops 3, we had strong in-game (and theorized) evidence that Agartha was a mythical place within the middle of the Earth, and the Aether was a metaphysical dimension that held passage through time and space itself, allowing one who inhabited its domain ultimate power. Unfortuantely, Monty also mentions that they are both the same. This isn't just true for one universe, though - this is for the entire multiverse. No mortal should be able to access it, let alone a metaphysical one. What does that mean exactly? Despite being almost all-powerful and practically god-like beings, both Monty and the Shadow Man can't hold their presence within the Aether. How could that be? It's hard to tell...but it seems that they do not belong in that dimension due to the erratic stability of the realm. We aren't in Monty's perfect world, or even a distorted version of it: we are actually within the Aether itself. Bits and pieces from other maps are sucked into this as a result of the Shadow Man opening a portal inside the Aether, causing instability and further fracturing. This is not a natural phenomenon, hence the severity of it all. The Children and The Souls All of Black Ops 3 revolved around collecting the souls of each 1.0 character...or was it? We understand that our original characters were most likely dead or simple MIA after the Moon events. Looking at the different BO3 maps, we see that these 1.0s are NOT the same original characters we grew up with. But why would they be important? Back in Shadows of Evil, Richtofen wrote on the torn scraps that he was chasing the wrong leads, instead finding coordinates to each future map location exactly where our targets were located at. It should also be mentioned that not all of these intended targets resided within the same universe (for obvious reasons). While a long shot, the main goal of collecting the souls was NOT the insurance policy. We know that the blood vials are just that; the souls, on the other hand, are actually descendants straight from the Primis crew themselves. Hence, why their souls are chosen to be within the bodies of the children in the House. This perfect world, as created by Monty, would compose of himself, four children with the souls of ancient warriors who vanquished the greatest evil in the known multiverse, and somehow Maxis/SOPHIA. The only contradiction we face is Richtofen 2.0, who Monty claims doesn't have his soul. Hell, he isn't even sure why he doesn't - all he knows is that his 1.0 soul was filled with evil. Could this mean that no matter what universe they were to observe and soul to collect, Richtofen was destined to be evil at the end of it all. Now, a glaring problem: Eddie resides in the house. Well, at least what we believe to be Eddie. In the one of the past map radios, we hear Maxis talking about how Monty brought back Samantha and Eddie. But something was wrong...Samantha was no longer the same as she originally was. Perhaps when those children died, their souls also departed and thus, Monty could only create shells for them until everything was restored? Now why would Primis' souls be scattered? The same reason why the Keepers were also scattered as well, as mentioned in the earlier Monty quote of this thread. Element 115 experimentation and teleportation simply fucked everything up, as blunt as I can put it. This is why our 2.0 crew has to hop through time, originally believe they could just stop every Ricthofen they came across with minimal aid from Maxis. At least, until Richtofen came along and led them to the true mission. Would love to hear any other loose ends/comments! There are many still that are waiting to be explored!

    About Donating.

Carrier pigeon might work. Debit card option should work just fine, once you're setting up for the donation. It should ask your preferred choice of payment and the "Add Card" option should be available. (Also, thank you for being interested in donating to CoDz! <3)
  16. Sledgehammer recently released a sneak-pea trailer looking into the incoming 1st DLC for WWII, "The Resistance". We also get a chance to see very brief segments of the new Nazi Zombies map "The Darkest Shore". In this new chapter, the crew gains intel on where Dr. Straub is now - an island just north of Germany. So far, new intel includes the return of the fog mechanic, a new terrifying Zombie type, a new weapon w/ buzzsaw capabilities, and much more.

Can we please have new medals for WWII?

My original consensus was that I didn't want to make game-specific medals where it had to do with one map. I only did ZiS for Infinite Warfare because I wanted to test the waters, but then if I did that I'd have to do it for every single map (which we didn't originally do before besides NML for Black Ops). I am definitely interested in making some medals for overall WWII zombies if there is something very broad (i.e. unlock all characters, reach certain prestige, etc).

    2017 Zombies Olympics

Welcome, one and all, to the 2017 Call of Duty Zombies 2nd Annual tournament, the "Zombies Olympics"! The Z-Olympics (as we just normally call it around here) is an annual event where slayers from all regions of the world come to compete online in extremely difficult yet innovative challenges set forth by the Overlords and Controllers of the multiverse to determine who among them will earn the title of Champion against the others. The official tournament lasts for 3 weeks, and will test all your slaying abilities throughout several Zombies maps. Oh, did we mention there is a grand prize for each Champion? How to Enter The Z-Olympics contains two competition pools - the Champion and the Slayer pool. The Champion pool consists solely of past Champions from the Ancient Trials tournament and potentially a few wild cards. These players have earned their spot through 6-7 months of antagonizing torture from the Overlords with very specific challenges, allowing them to enter the highest ranks possible for a larger prize. 3 of the most difficult challenges possible will determine the winner. The Slayer pool is available to all of the public, and requires no barrier to entry other than the ability to record gameplay. Players will compete against everyone for the best score in each challenge using our previous scoring system in the Ancient Trials tournaments. Unlike the Champion pool, there is no contestant limit, so it's a free-for-all kind of madness. Like the Champion pool, however, 3 challenges will determine the winner. Each league will have 2 weeks per challenge, making the entire Zombies Olympics a 6-week tournament. A challenge will start bi-weekly on a Sunday and end on a Saturday at 11:59pm PST. Game Requirements In order to successfully compete in the Z-Olympics, players must have each of the following items: Xbox One / Playstation 4 / PC Black Ops 3 - all DLCs including Zombies Chronicles Gameplay recording equipment (such as an Elgato, capture device, Twitch stream recording, Game DVR, etc) Twitch or YouTube account to upload gameplay videos on At least 1-2 hours of free time in a given week to perform each challenge A working email to contact players by for results, important updates, and more Failure to have any of these items will result in scores not being counted in the tournament. The Point System For those unfamiliar with the Ancient Trials, we used a direct approach to scoring each players using ranking points. The first place score would receive a score of 4 points, second highest 3 points, third highest 2 points, etc etc. In the Slayer pool, the points will instead range up to a maximum of 5. It is highly possible to receive a score of 0 if a player fails to be in the Top 5 of a given challenge. In the Champion pool, the maximum points given will be 3 per challenge since the number of players is significantly smaller. At the end of each challenge, our Z-Olympics committee will determine who has what rank at each segment of the tournament and post it on this site. Each contestant who signs up for the tournament will also receive an email blast from us highlighting the scores, just in case we have slayers constantly on the move. Prizes and Rewards You don't spend time, effort, blood, sweat, tears, and possibly urine (yes, we have a hilarious story about that) for nothing. The Zombies Olympics offers not one, but several prizes for each league! $75 for the Winner of the Champion Pool + Custom "Zombies Olympics 2017 Champion" Button + 5 Zombies Movie Posters $50 for the Winner of the Slayer Pool + Custom "Zombies Olympics 2017 Champion" Button + 3 Zombies Movie Posters Rules and Guidelines Each tournament and challenge we offer contains special rules that must be abided by. Failure to comply with the rules will determine in your score being voided and possible permanent banning from the Z-Olympics all-together. We don't have many rules (because we have a lot of faith in our players), but please carefully read the following guidelines: Each player must show the leaderboard pop-up screen at the beginning of each challenge. This is an important verification step. Failure to do so will result in your submission not being recorded. The username you provide on the Registration link should match exactly to that of the name on the Leaderboard. Only 1 submission video per challenge is allowed. We do not accept duplicates, regardless if the score changes. Cheating in the form of performing glitches is prohibited in all challenges. The use of non-Classic Gobblegums is not allowed unless specified otherwise. All video segments must one continuous length. This means no split-recordings are allowed. Your gameplay cannot be substituted by another player. Pausing in your video is allowed, but must remain in a continuous recording. Challenges As previously mentioned, each league will have 3 difficult challenges to complete. The order of the challenges will not be specified; however, are available to the public to practice. For Champion Pool: Shadows of Evil: 3-2-1 Challenge (3 Perks, 2 Weapons, 1 Box Hit) Nacht der Untoten: Wall Weapons Challenge (Only wall weapons, grenades, starting pistol, and knife can be used as weapons) Gorod Krovi: Bare Hands Challenge (No Buildables, No Perks, No EE Weapons aside Box weapons) For Slayer Pool: Shangri-la: Powerless Blitzkrieg (No power, highest round) Origins: Limited (Can only use starting room weapons and pistol entire game, PaP allowed for them) Revelations: The End (Nacht cannot be accessed whatsoever, EE not allowed, Time Trial weapons not allowed) Registration Information Registration will posted on Monday September 4th, 2017 and will run for approximately 1 week. The first start date of the first challenge will be on Sunday September 10th. The registration is valid for the Slayers pool, not the Championship pool. Any Champions from the Ancient Trials tournament are not subject to this registration link. Registration has officially closed.

Great map layout, very eerie atmosphere, many zombies types. Not too excited about the zombie spawn sounds, traps are lackluster, so are weapons.

    Spam

I have turned off registrations for now until the situation is resolved. Have concluded it is indeed manual spammers, not bots, that are attacking the forums. At least it's nothing compared to the dreaded Keechin War (can't even say the word without the system filter going nuts haha).
  23. InfestLithium

    Spam

They're most likely not bots. We have a Re-CAPTCHA system that provides site security in the form of typing distorted text, completing a jigsaw puzzle, or even a new AI that intelligently determines if a user is a bot. A human can easily bypass this but a boy can't. I've added an extra security measure until it's died down for now.

    The Ancient Trials 2017 Tournament

Loving these suggestions, friendos! It's never too early to begin looking at next year's Ancient Trials. I believe there IS still interest in competitive Zombies; however, I feel that it's much easier to register and never compete than to hold onto contestants. Several factors play a part here, but I too thought that mashing out a max 3 hour game in 2 weeks wouldn't be that insane...of course, it just shows that the challenges should be even more difficult yet easy to understand. The 1st year, we had a small Olympics team that consisted of myself and another CoDz member, then added on two others who volunteered. This year, I felt it was cool having a collaboration of @RequixEclipse and then you awesome slayers willing to take the mantle here and there to keep things streamlined. This next year, I want to open up the Ancient Trials Committee similarly and if a contestant happens to be helping out, they'll just have to postpone their Committee duty during one of their challenges to ensure there's no foul play. The foundation is virtually the same. WWII will 100% be in this coming tournament. Scheduling will also be posted the initial month in advance. Our idea will be to have a pattern (3ARC - IW - SH - 3ARC - IW - SH) where each month is using that dev's most co-current title. In this case, we will be seeing BO3/IW/WWII. By the time the next Treyarch title releases, not only with the AT 2018 be done but the 2018 Zombies Olympics as well. There is a minor glitch in that CoDz will be involved in the ZWC once more, but those details are yet to be finalized and my current concern is potential conflict with dates and engagements. As such, we'll probably delegate a non-staff member (or if one, that is the most active and not involved with ZWC) to lead the Committee.

You've all fought hard and well. In concluswion of the 2017 Zombies Olympics, the Ancients have chosen their Champions. Congratulations to @andydabeast as the Olympic Champion and @skywhale0 as the Slayer Champion! Please PM me so we can arrange for your grand prize delivery! Things got really heated this year, and we thank everyone who participated and spent so much time grinding into these challenges. As our token of appreciation, everyone who competed will get 500 per challenge to use in our own Divinium Factory! We can't wait for next year's tournament that'll be bigger, badder, and with more rewards. We hope you all enjoyed the tournament, now let's get back to slappin' down some meatsacks.
