  1. This is pretty much exactly what I'm hoping for. Basically the same map with some new toys and a ton of new secrets and story hidden in it to make up for the mess BO2 left. And I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't get at least one new room. Even if its just a secret tiny room. Can't help but feel like we need to open something up during the EE.
  2. WaW was my favorite MP Call of Duty, so part of me wants to replay those maps, since like many said, they're riddled with modders and cheaters nowadays. But I personally was very dissapointed with the Cliffside golf course remake. Was a dumb idea and looked terrible. So I'd hate to see what they can do to some of my other favorites. What they should do is give us 4 new maps each DLC. Then at the end of the year, when the next CoD game is coming out, give BO3 fans a last DLC not included in the Season Pass. An optional remastered version of WaW maps for next gen. Like Bad Company 2's Vietnam DLC they had which was awesome. Even if they just released 8 maps, if they included some remastered WWII weapons, I'd cough up 20 bucks for that. Release it a month before the next game comes out, get everyone back into CoD to help build the hype for the new release, and if its Ghosts 2, at least we get some CoD to mess with while we wait out another year. And Treyarch can test the market if they are still considering a WWII game at some point.
  3. How do you explain the revamped Shi No Numa radio that says that overloading the teleporter sent them to Kino and the Kino loading screen that corroborates that? How did they get to Kino from SNN, where there's no teleporter there? I agree and think SNN was first and Der Riese was second. But there wasn't anything that ever specifically says it. Like so many of the things in the zombie story, if the developers decided to pull a fast one and switch it up, they could. They could even create some answers to your questions or just say to hell with it and leave us guessing like usual. I'm hoping the meat of what we thought the story was in WaW and BO stays true. No timeline changes, no multiverses were they can Rick and Morty a fresh start, and still praying we don't have the kids telling a story hanging over our heads the whole DLC season.
  4. This. There was never anything concrete saying Der Riese took place after Shi No Numa, so if they want to switch up the timeline it looks like they can. Personally, I'm hoping its all explained somehow where the Giant had already happened and Richtofen still does all those things. Like the Giant is just another MotD hell map or if somehow the new Richtofen ends up taking the others place. For instance, if this map ends with the Origins Richtofen going back in time another year or 10 years or something, is involved in some of the radio transimisions we've heard, and then frees the group at SNN. Then the O4 arrive at Der Riese right after this map. As long as the original story is upheld, I'll be happy.
  5. Fair enough. And I think that's the main reason they will never have a Zombie only game because zombies don't appeal to everyone so some wouldn't want the other two modes tainted by it. My point is just that they could easily do a zombie only game and still have all 3 modes. There'd just be a common theme. I'd prefer that, being a zombie fan because not only do I love Treyarch zombies, but I'd also love for CoD campaigns to start to separate themselves again. With a new 3 year cycle, I'd love nothing more than to get a new CoD each year that actually felt like a new one. So if Treyarch doesn't want to go back to older settings like WW2 or Cold War because they are worried the tech isn't there for what they want to do in MP, I'd much rather they go the zombie direction. I'd prefer that over the near future setting we've been getting pounded with in the last 3 games.
  6. There's no reason a Zombie CoD game couldn't still have the same exact MP mode. Only difference would be that its heavily zombie themed maps, weapons, killstreaks, and perks. BO3s MP looks like it has Star Wars force abilities, so including experimental weapons and gadgets from Zombies into MP wouldn't be a big stretch. And the MP sides could be 935 soldiers vs Majestic 12 soldiers or something like that. Even random customizable survivors vs bio hazard troops. Instead of dogs killstreak, we could unleash hellhounds or even sprinter zombies. The core of what MP mode could still be there so those fans would still get what they want. And the campaign doesn't need to be about the story we've been discovering, but just a small part of a side story occurring during it. A campaign that evolved around the world BO2 set up. Let us play out the events of Broken Arrow, survive the Moon nukes, fight against the Flesh as they try to take cities over, and fend of zombies and 115 creatures while fighting soldiers. Basically create a stand alone campaign that doesn't ruin the story Zombie mode set up, but lets us play out something small that's been introduced in the background of the mode with little detail.
  7. I wonder how big could it be if last gen versions of the game don't even have the campaign. Would be awesome if it was an extra map but would they really not last gen players have it or just have whatever it is already unlocked.
  8. You could still have the same exact campaign elements. Corridor shooting, stealth missions that turn to shoot outs, a random vehicle down a path mission and then a vehicle or suit with rockets mission, and the constant falling on the ground or getting knocked out for a second and someone picking you up while you're dazed. But instead of having a near future setting with some antagonist with an army at his finger tips and the secret group we are apart of his all that stands in his way, it would be nice to play out a different story at least once in the new 3 year CoD cycle. A zombie campaign could still have a main bad guy, but the world falling around us would be the main enemy and goal we are trying to stop. For instance, if the game was set up around the same time as Moon, we could be at the Area 51 base when the zombie outbreak first happened before the O4 got there or maybe some outside group attacked it and caused the outbreak. Fighting your way out of that and then having to survive the Moon nukes would be a nice beginning to the campaign. (Remember when Ghosts opening campaign was a dad telling his grown sons out in the woods about this awesome group of soldiers who were invincible) Then just trying to make it through the apocalypse while you and other soldiers try to somehow save yourselves or the world while it all crumbles would be nice then the usual stopping the one cliche bad guy who's angry and power hungry. And you still could have the same core missions, but now add certain missions where in the middle of the level you get locked into a confined area and have to suddenly survive 20 rounds before you can move forward. And once you beat those missions, that map gets unlocked in the real Zombie mode much like the Farm or Bus Depot. These missions could happen because Richtofen starts to notice us and wants to stop us. We know he and Maxis talked to other groups. Not to mention the variety of enemies that can be added other than the regular soldiers we'd be fighting against. CoD always had nice control and mechaincs which makes its multiplayer so fun. Why not use those controls to take on some big interesting challenging bosses during some missions. It be nice to have more variety to the story and missions than the past CoDs have had.
  9. I see no reason this couldn't happen. You could still have the game be 3 different parts. The only thing we would need is a campaign that takes players through a story that occurs separately but parallel with one setting of the Zombie story. Instead of cheesy Sci-FI future tech, fighting the same re skinned soldiers and occasional drones, or now terminator knock offs, that the three previous games tried with the same story line recycled, we could get a campaign that occurs during a zombie outbreak while still fighting soldiers and using experimental 935 tech. Now we're fighting soldiers from secret groups like 935 or the Flesh, zombies, and any other crazy 115 monsters like Nova crawlers or hell hounds. And you can set up boss fights which would be a welcome addition to a CoD campaign. I'd rather have one game every 3 years with a campaign, survival mode, and multiplayer all be zombie themed then have the same campaign year after year and knock off zombie survival modes mixed in. Cause that's the formula since BO2. Advanced Warfare's campaign would have been a good one if we hadn't already done worse versions of the same campaign in BO2 and Ghosts.
  10. Ii was thinking something like this too. The American kid versions of Sam and Richtofen seem so out of place, unless the whole game is indeed just two kids playing (which would suck). So maybe those were versions of them that were clones, or parts of them that the MPD took away, like their innocence or some nonsense, or God versions of them like Lost. WHo knows. But it crossed my mind that maybe these versions were going to somehow be connected to the Shadow man. Like he's adult American Richtofen grown up, or at least the Richtofen who's turn its supposed to be.
  11. I remember trying to fly through the BO2 campaign as fast as I could to try and unlock something zombie related. But that was after a long night of playing Tranzit first. So I'm sure zombies will be the first thing I hit. Haven't really enjoyed a CoD campaign since BO1 and probably same could be said of Multiplayer. I've had fun in those modes in games since then, but nothing special or really worth remembering. But between the two zombie maps, I'm really looking forward to The Giant. Seems like there's more possibility to get more story info from that map and will be interesting to see exactly how this map is set up. Is it a prequel, is it altering time or did this indeed already happen somehow, and how is this map going to end? I'm really hoping one or both of these maps start to put the story together a little better or at least push it in an interesting direction.
  12. Shadows of Evil might be set in a 1942 version of the city, but it could still be taking place after 1945. Much like how MotD is set in 1933 Alcatraz, but we also get the impression time has gone on while they are stuck in the loop since we hear Stanley Ferguson's recording from the year 1942. So it might be that the SoE characters are stuck in a loop like the MotD characters where time has continued without them. So they might have started the loop cycle with red eyes, then after redoing the loop over and over for 3 years, Sam took over while they were there and the eyes became yellow. The year could be 1999 for all we know. Not saying any of this is the case but the year the map is set in and the actual year we are supposed to be playing them in could very easily be different based on MotD. We might find out during or after the EE that this map, the specific loop we are playing the characters in, takes place at the same time as Call of the Dead.
  13. I'm sorry, 12 monkeys? What XD Bruce Willis time travel movie where everything that he did in the past had already happened. As much as he tried to change and save the past, whatever he did was shown to have happened from memories or pictures.
  14. Well if they really will pull a 12 Monkeys on us, we'll find out in The Giant. One way or another, they are going to change something or nothing at all. I know. Really looking forward to this map to hopefully give the story some much needed direction for us fans. BO2 was so vague that anything was possible. Made theorizing feel pointless (even though theorizing about a fictional game is anyway, its still fun to do so). So hope The Giant can finally give us some clues to whats going on.
  15. Beyond that, there is a very strong emphasis on time travel. This can allow for splintering of timelines but alternate dimension wise I don't really believe so beyond the Aether, Agartha, and Earth. I'm hoping so but who knows. Still hanging on hope that there is no time splintering going on. Like I said, I'd like for a 12 Monkeys take to the story where everything will make sense as already happening and nothing can change. Would be nice if they somehow explain this Origins Richtofen killing the other Richtofen and show that its what had happened all along. Like Origins Richtofen is really Sam who kills Richtofen in the cutscene, then maybe goes back further in time to grow up and take his place. This could explain how Shino might be happening before Der Riese since the Origins Richtofen could be there releasing the old crew. Then they arrive at Der Riese just seconds after the Giant map takes place. Would be an interesting spin to have WaW and BO Richtofen really been Sam all along, which could explain his feminine and weird personality. Maybe not that since there are so many plot holes if that turned out to be the case, but if Treyarch could spin something like that to explain it all, I'd be happy. Something that keeps everything relevant and maybe throws some surprises in the mix.
  16. Exactly. I 70% agree. lol! Only because I believe the Aether is more of a force-field than an actual "alternate reality." Thats true but we travel through the Aether when we teleport and we see people, places, and ideas when we travel in it. I think this could explain why we go to those random stops on Kino including getting a glimpse into Sam's mind when we see her room change with the "Giant Teddy" standing over everything. Just like we see a "hell" version of her room while traveling through it, I think we see a similar thing on MotD and Origins which seem like two specific versions of hell for Weasel and Maxis.
  17. I'm still hoping its all simple. One real Earth and one real timeline that's fixed like 12 Monkeys. And the Aether and Argartha are the alternate "Hell" like realities that are parallel to ours and explain maps like MotD, Origins, and SOE. Never a fan of multiple universes and alternate timelines because they make everything in the story not matter since it can all be changed at will.
  18. Everyone has a theory and there's so little info so anyone can be right. I personally think they are in the same timeline. I still think Origins was more like MotD and SoE, where the characters were stuck in a cycle outside of the real world. Just like how MotD characters thought they were in the 30s but the Ferguson recording showed time had just moved on without them while they were trapped in a loop, I think Origins is somehow the O4 or O3 with Sam getting trapped in a cycle, perhaps after Moon.
  19. I really wish this is true but don't want to get my hopes up. They referred to Tranzit as a campaign mode before launch and it sounds like a lot of the code mentioned in the link could apply to BO2 since the map EEs were tied to eachother via the Nav cards. But I'd love nothing more then to beat the campaign and get a third map that somehow has campaign like features and a story that at least makes sense. Not having a reward at the end of BO2 like we did with WaW and BOs was so disappointing. Also love the audio files in this link. New Perk songs including JugV2.
  20. This. There was nothing more intense then taking the first base on maps like Castle where players were storming the Dojo while everyone was hucking in grenades and a few others were trying to sweep around the sides. When two really good teams would tug a war for long periods of time you could rack up the kills and really just appreciate how fun the mode was.
  21. I disagree. It's clear that quite a lot of people are becoming fed up with futuristic warfare, and want a back-to-basics World War II shooter on next-gen systems. No I am not saying the genre is liked, what I mean is for gameplay purposes it is better. I hate futuristic stuff, except BO3 has an interesting concept so I like it. I'd prefer a simpler gameplay that WWII could offer. The weapons, killstreaks and gadgets of later Call of Duty games are good, but I always loved how simple and fun WaW was. I'd take getting owned by good players using annoying tanks over annoying killsteaks any day. Dogs and mortar could at least be avoided. I haven't bought a CoD since BO2 since zombies is all I care about. MP just got less and less fun. But if Infinity Ward or Sledgehammer did go back to WWII, I'd consider shelling out the money for MP. Would love nothing more then to go back to that setting when the maps seemed better. MP maps for the last 4 CoDs are pretty much interchangeable and forgetful. But I know what you mean about futuristic gameplay. Its probably more appealing and profitable for the developers. Most people seem to need all those killstreaks and gadgets that future tech can supply and WWII can't unless it was like an Origins type world. I don't want that stuff but I feel like myself and a lot of us older players are in the minority nowadays. I think now that CoD has 3 companies making the game, they need to start diversifying them a little more. So an older setting seems needed. Break up the exo suits and special abilities. Make each CoD unique.
  22. I think they said Aug 26th for PC and Xbox. Not positive. Just checking out some of the gameplay videos of it that are out today, it does seem a little better than AW. Its slower than AW, which is good, and still has some interesting mobility moves but they seem like they aren't required. I still hate the future themes of these games. Not sure why but they make me miss the older games. But this one seems like a step up at first glance.
  23. I'd love it if we got to open some of those closed doors on Der Riese, but I'd be fine with the same layout as long as it all played like new. Not just the weapons, but new perks, gadgets, and enemies. Maybe change up the rooms a little, like the room outside of teleporter C could have an office set up since it was filled with tables and cabinets before. Now they could be lined up making it a little trickier to get through. Although, going by the little seen in the trailer, it looks like its pretty much the same with cosmetic improvements. Most importantly, I want EEs. And not just one big one. I want little ones like the original Der Riese had. Some that might clue us in on whats going on and some that might add info to the old ones, like the guy hanging in the room or the guy in the tank. Start fixing the story BO3 tore apart.
  24. Yeah. The map is definitely before Der Riese. Richtofen just teleported Maxis and Sam which is a radio on Der Riese and the say we need to set the test subjects free, which most likely refers to the O3. The map might be days, weeks, or even months before Der Riese since we aren't given a date yet, but the trailer definitely wants us to think its seconds before. The Giant clock stops at 1:15:00 and the snow or ash starts to fall while we can see the eclipse. Then Der Riese takes place during the same looking eclipse with ash falling at 1:15:40-45. So this map seems to be set 40 seconds before Der Riese at a frozen time. Not sure how they plan on explaining it but that's what the trailer seems to set up. One way the map could be different if this is the case is to just simply have a predestroyed map. Since the outbreak is just starting, some of the destruction on Der Riese wouldn't have occurred yet. So maybe some new doors will open, the perks will be in different spots, new debris can block certain paths, and maybe some new enemies can make certain areas a little more difficult.
