  1. The name of the overarching social event that revolves around "Buried" is "Resolution 1295". ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I say "social event" because we've had several overarching taboo social events (click the below spoilers if you DON'T know what I'm talking about): ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A BRIEF HISTORY LESSON Resolution 1295 is described on wiki, as so: Just so we're all on the same page, UNITA essentially stands for = National Union for the Total Independence of Angola So to put it as simply as possible, Resolution 1295 was an act by the United Nations to impose sanctions against a country in fits of a civil war, and to disband the leading rebel political party by assassinating their leader. The leading rebel political party fighting in the war (UNITA) was founded by Jonas Savimbi, so he was the main target in their attempts to disband UNITA (the only way to do this was to assassinate him). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jonas Savimbi Jonas Malheiro Savimbi (August 3, 1934 – February 22, 2002) was an Angolan political and military leader. He founded and led UNITA, a movement that first waged a guerrilla war against Portuguese colonial rule (1966–1974), then confronted the rival MPLA during the decolonization conflict (1974–75), and after independence in 1975 fought the ruling MPLA in the Angolan Civil War. After surviving more than a dozen assassination attempts, Savimbi was killed on February 22, 2002, in a battle with Angolan government troops along riverbanks in the province of Moxico, his birthplace. In the firefight, Savimbi sustained 15 gunshot wounds to his head, throat, upper body and legs. Savimbi's somewhat mystical reputation for eluding the Angolan military and their Soviet and Cuban military advisors led many Angolans to question the validity of reports of his 2002 death. Not until pictures of his bloodied and bullet-ridden body appeared on Angolan state television, did the reports of Savimbi's death in combat gain credence in the country. Now... why the hell is this guy so important? Well, if you've played the Black Ops 2 campaign - you may know what I'm getting at: Jonas Savimbi appears in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and is present during flashbacks to Angola in 1986 during the Angolan Civil War - where he helps Alex Mason, and Jason Hudson find Frank Woods (who is missing). He appears in "Pyrrhic Victory", where he leads his UNITA forces against the opposing MPLA forces. Once the MPLA forces are dispersed, Hudson arrives with a helicopter on the battlefield. Savimbi then gives intel on Woods's location and points Hudson and Mason in the right direction. Savimbi then appears at the end of the level with an Mi-24 Hind, fighting back the Cuban forces that attacked Mason, Woods, and Hudson as they escape. Viktor Reznov is also seen within these events, but it is unclear if it is really him as he doesn't talk. He has had implications to Zombies before (in WaW, BO & BO2), but we still haven't found a clear connection. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ How does this fit into Zombies? At this point, I'm unsure of how this all fits into our zombies storyline. That's where I need your help. Here is my thought process: + "Buried"'s overarching theme is "Resolution 1295" (drafted in 2000) + "Resolution 1295" sought to disband UNITA + Jonas Savimbi was the leader of UNITA + Jonas Savimbi trained in China in the 1960's + Alex Mason fought with Jonas Savimbi (& UNITA) in 1986 + Alex Mason saw Reznov Perhaps it will all seem more clear when we have the Easter Egg complete, but as of now - I'm pretty stumped. Regardless, it is important to understand the social event behind "Buried", and now we can advance knowing that some of this information may hold the key to further knowledge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Random Facts What does "Pyrrhic Victory" mean? A Pyrrhic victory is a victory with such a devastating cost that it carries the implication that another such victory will ultimately lead to defeat. Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has been victorious in some way; however, the heavy toll negates any sense of achievement or profit. A "Pyrrhic victory" can also mean a false or temporary victory where a win entails a loss subsequently or in the bigger picture. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for reading!
  2. pretty awesome map. very intricate, I love the "high risk - high reward" factor of jumping on the roofs of the town. very fun. the... ghost house is pretty insane. I'm still trying to figure out how to "awaken the gazebo".
  3. thanks for posting this event, Nikolai. you're a gentleman, and a scholar (and a drunk russian).
  4. Right right, it's for sure the PaP texture in MotD... but I'm just confused why there are multiplayer skins in there too. I'd like to get in contact with whoever hosts the albums so they can tell me straight where they got them. ...and perhaps he can hook us up with TranZit files too? I'd love to have a gander as well, FU.
  5. thanks for the info guys, OP updated. OH NO! I do NOT like the sound of that. I've included your experience in the OP as a fore-warning. Hopefully we can figure out if it was a fluke/glitch that happened to you, or if there's some sort of restriction.
  6. Nice find there BS. I'm glad they made it harder to get, that way, only the people who NEED IT will get it. Rather then everyone "perma-jugging" up before a game on Die Rise or TranZit. Mob of the Dead def put everyone on their toes again in terms of no perma-jugg, so yeah, i'm conditioned - i'm ready.
  7. +1 If they can add a bank/gun safe on Die Rise, they can do anything.
  8. Afrochub - did you extract these yourself? or is it someone else? I find this extremely interesting, but before looking into it, I need to make sure this isn't a troll.
  9. if you have the season pass, you can re-gift... or you can get the points ala carte. WE NEED ENTRIES. ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT. hm maybe I'LL just enter...
  10. ... so ... NOBODY cares about getting DLC 3 free?
  11. As we all know, there is now a bank & gun refrigerator that links Die Rise to TranZit. Now, on both of these maps, there are some weapons that are exclusive. I've been trying to figure out a conversion chart for when a Die Rise exclusive gun is put in the refrigerator and retrieved in TranZit. This is what has been figured out so far (this counts for PaP'ed weapons as well): Die Rise to TranZit: AN94 (or Actuated Neutralizer 94000) --------------> Galil (or Lamentation) PDW (or Predictive Death Wish 57000) --------------> Chicom (or Chicom Cataclismic Quadruple Burst) SVU (or Shadowy Veil Utilizer) --------------> FAL (or WN) Items that will NOT go intro the fridge: Sliquifier Jet Gun m1911 Ballistic Knives Ray Gun Ray Gun MKII ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Be Ye Warned:
  12. very nice analysis, Rissole. Now I just can't wait to get me some Buried!
  13. DLC 3 VENGEANCE CONTEST IS NOW UNDERWAY! SEND US YOUR EPIC KRAUSS REVIVES FOR A FREE COPY OF DLC3 (FOR XBL, PSN & STEAM*) *only 1 winner will be chosen - but we abide all consoles.
  14. MMX actually made a teaser video about this... TmzuizsojrI
  15. is the M2 only available for those with the season pass at this point?
  16. YES Caffiene, thanks for letting us know! +1. I'm going to try this out RIGHT NAOW!!!
  17. _SWrzMbp0Fg The Replacers Trailer is out for DLC 3, and we've been given some glimpses into what mysteries "Buried" holds. Let's break it down: It certainly is a wild west themed town, and it makes me wonder if it's legit or indeed, like Calico, CA - a ghost town theme park. The part that confused me is why it's underground - perhaps this was a result of the rockets shift tectonic plates? Hopefully, we'll find out. There's an old house, that appears to be of semi Victorian style. We see a figure of a woman from far away, gazing out the window. Who is this woman? Perhaps she is the voice we heard for the official DLC 3 Trailer saying, "you'll never get out alive". On the front porch, you can see a wall gun on the left side. Perhaps m14? Close up of the woman, she looks troubled... but wouldn't be troubled with all these zombies about? Zombies have blue eyes this time, back to ol' Richtofen. Mystery box location. Uh - is that woman floating through the air? Her dress kind of seems ghostly. Apparently you can shoot her, and she discharges some sort of green/purple mist. Also - what's the deal with the street light? I thought this was a wild west town? Narrow hallway... That leads to Jugg! Notice how Marlton is the one holding it. A lot of theories going around that perhaps Marlton improved the Ray Gun that we know and created the Ray Gun M2. He's standing in a church as well, not sure if this will be set above ground. Court is in session. Justice Misty resides. I believe this will be set above ground too. Letting new character out of his cage, Samuel is in the cage in the screen cap. You can see that something shimmers inside of the giant's cell, much like the shimmering of the keys in Die Rise. New character wants something... Look at all that candy! Oh... he's hungry... Well at least now he can smash zombies for you Including... perhaps... a boss zombie? Take note of the scarecrow-esque hat. New character with blood stained fists, standing alongside Samuel again. Perhaps Samuel is the only who can interact with this new character... This is the last frame of the trailer. This guy has that same scarecrow looking hat, and he looks pretty mean. I'm wondering if he is a boss zombie... also... DOES HE HAVE MUTTONCHOPS? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let me know your thoughts below. Pretty crazy stuff.

  19. And a good thread it is. Opinions are just that, and that's why CoDZ is here - so we can all join in and brainstorm. I think it's important to talk about things LIKE what brand is the radio, etc. Don't get a bad taste just because people are passionate. That's why we are all here.
  20. The only river that's in Nevada is the Colorado River, but its nowhere near where Groom Lake and Area 51 are. Although there are mountains near Area 51, there's still no way that Shangri-La is just over those mountains. I think that if your willing to accept that Shangri La was concealed by the Govt near Area 51, then it's not too far off to consider that they created an irrigation system that runs through Shangri La. Why? To power it's hydro electric innards. Not trying to get this off track, just saw my crackpot theory mentioned and figured I'd chime in. But, I agree it's hard to judge from a radio design. Treyarch don't seem to obey history chronologically (for example, the water tower in Alcatraz was actually built way after the maps story). Regardless, welcome to the forum and indeed keep sharing your thoughts. I love a good theorizin'
  21. ... just want to address this quick. As CoDZ is an "ad free" forum (that's how Carbon wanted it), I'm quite positive that this will also mean an "ad free" youtube. It's a great idea, but I wouldn't get your hopes up as Jolteon & I have been pushing it for sometime with no recourse.
  22. for any information regarding what videos we need completed: viewtopic.php?f=93&t=31755 Thanks for all the support guys. We've hit some speedbumps lately, but in the end - we're already super late to the party... so it's not like we've got a deadline lol. Keep in mind there will be 2-3 years before the next 3arc release - plenty o' time to get all the nooks & crannies.
  23. welcome, Four Lines. The forum is bustling with activity, and just waiting for you to join in. Won't you? Enjoy your stay.
