I was burnt out on cod with only zombies being of interest to me. But I wasn't sold on BO3 until the mp was revealed and that convinced me to buy it. The now awesome sounding campaign is just icing on the cake.

Did no one watch the previous livestream? They practically outright said the next one would be about zombies.

I'm just happy to help with my favorite forum. I know I'm not the most creative person on here but if I come up with anything I'll be sure to throw it your way.

The Return of Black Ops iOS
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to NaBrZHunter's topic in General Zombies Discussion
It really seems like they're trying to return to what they had going for them in the first BO, that being concurrent with the pinnacle of the iOS game's popularity. A lot of this just very much feels similar to BO for me and I wouldn't be surprised if that included a new iOS game too. -
In the most recent Friday livestream the Activison guy interviewing Mark Lamia and Dan Bunting started talking about October and Halloween coming up near the end of the video and suggested that it was the perfect time to talk about zombies (for their next livestream on the 23rd). And while everybody here will mostly care about zombies, their multiplayer is what draws in the largest amount of consumers for them and will obviously be higher on the marketing priority list.

Big Zombies Unlock After Campaign

Nostalgia I guess? And knowing that a lot of people who at least semi-care about the story will not want to play the final mission straight away. -
Big Zombies Unlock After Campaign
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
I would actually think you can unlock it just by completing the last level. Treyarch in the latest livestream said they won't have any branching paths or anything like that in this game, and having opened up the entire campaign from the get-go I would think that this mentality would extend to zombies as well, allowing you to play the last level and after the credits roll out pops the zombie unlock. They know some people will probably not really care about the campaign and just want to get to the zombies unlock and this game seems all about player choice. So that's what I'm betting on. -
The Return of Black Ops iOS
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to NaBrZHunter's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Well I haven't played them in quite some time so that explains it. I used to just play it on my iPod and later downloaded it on my phone but never really played them much on my phone. I have a 5 currently and honestly can't remember if I ever played it on that or not. -
The Return of Black Ops iOS
Kill_All_Monkeys replied to NaBrZHunter's topic in General Zombies Discussion
It was broken? Both always worked on my iPod and iPhone. Anyway, they were good for what they were. I especially enjoyed Dead Ops in the Black Ops one, I felt it was almost a better fit for mobile than the game. I didn't really enjoy CotD on it though and that's why kind of got me out of playing it. The WaW maps were fun, also good fits for mobile since they weren't too complex. I would like to see a new game come out for BO3 but as more of a companion than a weaker remake of already established maps. Stuff that compliments the new zombies content rather than giving us a less enjoyable version. It doesn't have to be DOA stuff but it would make sense if that's the route they chose. -
How are Shi No Numa and Call of the Dead related?

So was this radio not in the original SNN? I thought it was... Yeah I think this radio was exclusive to BO's version of SNN. -

If it's meant as more exposition for Kino then it's a really curious choice not to actually include it with Kino considering it came out technically the same time as a remastered SNN. -
In the opening, it's floyd and nero that drink. There's a brief but clear shot of Vincent holding a glass too. Though I would assume most people who go to a bar/dance club after committing murder would probably have a drink or two. He has a drink but him and Jessica both inhale smoke that makes them fall asleep. I'm not arguing that, I'm just saying that he did have a drink on hand and that he could possibly be an alcoholic considering the business he's in. I was just trying to fit him into the Treyarch zombies character archetype.

I was a lurker for quite some time too before I eventually just couldn't resist jumping into the fray with some of the great discussions going on. And you're story sounds so similar to mine. Kino was my first map and for like the first 3 weeks of playing it I considered it an accomplishment to literally make it past round 5. Then I came to here after googling some stuff and saw some of the godly players on here and proceeded to barf rainbows at the screen. Glad to see you finally hop fully aboard the codz train, and always especially happy to see more PSN players too. We be the exalted few on here.

I used a spoiler just in case because it's outside of that one thread and for people who might have not looked at it yet.

I hope they go back to set colors actually, I mean it's not a big deal or anything but I was somewhat disappointed by that when BO2 came out and especially when Origins came out that even the O4 didn't have set colors anymore. As for the SoE4, I would agree with the above placement. Especially with Vincent cracking that joke about his wife in the reveal trailer, he seems very Nikolai-ish to me. He probably drinks too.
-
I mean she's not officially the white player, but I consider her the white player since she seems the leader like Dempsey. If not randomized (but it probably will be), Jessica could be the leader/white player since she is at the forefront of the poster. I consider her the white player because as you said she was the most similar to Dempsey. Actually there are some strong character correlations between the N4 (and their assumed color assignements) and the O4 (White) Misty -> Dempsey: Loud mouthed and most eager for combat with a take-no-shit attitude, takes control of combat situations (Blue) Marlton -> Nikolai: Tendacy to babble on due to vodka/nerdiness, excited about holding new or favorite weapons, mainly just follows what the others are doing (Yellow) Russman -> Takeo: Older character with mysterious past that regained their memory over time, spouts off philosophical bits of wisdom (Green) Samuel -> Richtofen: The crazy one who revels in the blood (in a more disturbing manner than white player), hears voices and something about conspiracies Now the white player role using this deduction would likely go to The Boxer given his penchant for fighting and possible brashness, but I still have a strong gut feeling Jessica will fall into the vocal leader role for this map. Maybe they changed the formula completely just for this map, who knows. MotD certainly didn't follow the formula too well and this map has the strongest ties to MotD more than any of the others.
-
If Misty is considered to be the white player for BO2, then in Treyarch zombies both playable female characters have been the "white" character. My guess is that Jessica will be the same for this one unless it's randomized again.
-
I don't think it's tied to character selection, that would cause too many problems with public matches unless it was laid out in a similar manner to the 4 fate powerups in DOA (unless you know how to crack the code). I'm pretty sure this is something that will give the new ranking system some meaning. If not through the gumballs though then my guess is through some previously undisclosed new feature for the map
-
I actually like that they've put this much effort into making the campaign more immersive and a more well rounded third of the game. Treyarch at least has been the most persistent with this in their games.

It was this interplay that made me absolutely love the O4. I really miss the days of Rictofen yelling at Dempsey, I really do. "I hate your face Dempsey." "Oh I think I can see your house from here Dempsey... It's on fire" "You're so tiny I could have a piece of you for a quarter... DEMSPEY GIVE ME A QUARTER!" "Hello Dempsey. Ah. It's just a portrait... AN UGLY ONE!" I should probably stop before I get carried away. Yeah. I forgot why the O4 were actually so good. They just keep getting better. To be honest I think they are probably the most perfectest characters in any video game ever. Certainly my favorites.
