  1. Hey Murder, yes I jut reread and realised it wasn't that clear. I'm trying to create a sound board for this - SUc5VZ-KIQo The sounds I have in mind are - start of arny new game with characters voices and SFX removed. Teleporter noise. Defcon 1, 2, 3 and 4, although 1 is kinda hard to get. And 1 or 2 quotes to go with some of it. Maybe for the first 8 seconds, the Der Riese stuff I could use one quote, something like....ah, what do we have here. So any of the characters quotes that fit with that. And then for the last part, the CODZ reveal and stuff another short quote :)
  2. Hey Guys, For those of you out there who have wrapped yourself up into the story and know it inside out can any of you recommend to me a character quote, ideally by Richtofen that is creepy and suggestive, or welcoming in some kind of way. I want to use something like this as part of an intro, and I thought I had remembered hearing him say something like "come in, come in, the doctor has arrived" or something along those lines. Hopefully someone will know of a good one which I can use to end the CODZ youtube intro video Thanks!

  4. I'd be happier if they just corrected the hell hounds physics, especially in NML. Most of the physics are pretty damn fine but the dogs are definitely messed up.
  5. I kinda understand what you are saying. I want to retract something I said, if you know what you are doing you can remove most of the blind corner around the stage and reflexes will get you out of almost all trouble. I just did from round 31 to 39, no perks on Kino in 55 minutes. I did not use the Thunder Gun once to save my life, only to kill 20+ zombies each shot. I don't believe that luck played a part iBWTmLLv_QU
  6. It would be nice if they could create maps which have both options on. A great kiting area and a great camping area. I think that this would appeal to almost all users then. People complain a lot about how something is too easy if there is a great kiting area....you could stay out of it you know! Great post OP [brains]
  7. Hi Jolteon, thanks for the feedback. What I posted is only the first 10 seconds or so, this will then transition into a codz logo, and I too have been thinking about blood!
  8. Oh ok....hmm, it's too easy with Juggs and too hard without I think.
  9. Hey guys, CJ and I have been working on improving this intro, with some kind of dissolve effect into our logo. EGWEDnUFTeY What do you think the intro is like this, and the skull image is disolved/twisted/shattered etc into the logo that CCM worked on?
  10. Ascension turret area is one of the most difficult 'easy' places to run. It should be simple, it's a nice shape but they way they spawn, from both the ground and either side makes it complex. Very very good practise on the 2 most important techniques for kiting, the cutback and circle.
  11. This is truly not for staff members only. Staff members will only approve videos and then upload. I completed this Piep, I got to round 39 where I had my first death and so I suicided after that. This is part 3 of the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBWTmLLv_QU I suppose it could be re-edited and put onto CODZ if people thought it should go there. It would only be worth it in my opinion if we could upload it as some kind of response to syndicates original video and have him mention it on his channel.....something like here is what the guys over at CODZ can do. Tom - to gain new viewers who will rewatch, will link to others and will help it to grow we need the following first: As much content as possible from BO, before any new trailer comes out for BO2. We then need content as soon as possible for when the game is released. I don't believe we can gain a huge amount of new subs before then, but once people go searching for this stuff we want them to hit to CODZ channel, watch a trailer (or a breakdown of one) and then have a look at what else is on the channel. Now, in this case we would need quality footage from BO to keep them interested. If we play it right I believe that the channel could explode around September. The most interesting thing to me is definitely the community aspect of it. More and more people are making videos now and looking for good places to upload them. I believe that our channel would appeal to people if they believed that one day they could get a video on to it, by firstly becoming active members of the site. Why are we talking so much about the intro? Only because we do not want to upload anything new until we have a professional intro to use. I'm virtually ready with the first strategy video. I will be semi managing this side of the channel for the minute, but not in the sense that you may think. I'm not here to tell you whether something is good or bad, to have the final editing say etc. I'm only here to manage the work that hopefully CODZ members will be doing. Ideally we want a strategy guide done for each map, both solo and co-op. We have maybe at minimum 10 strategy guides written for each different map. We need 20 different sets of gameplay footage, 20 different commentators, from 20 different guides. Potentially 60 different people, all CODZ members who have had a collaboration into these videos. This is likely to be reduced to a few regular people, but only if we can't find enough to do the parts individually. We would need an EE guide for each map, storyline breakdowns etc. Moving forward to BO2's release you are completely right Tom. We need stuff out ASAP, and we then need it to be promoted hard. It's a bit of a snowball effect, if you get great content up quickly and publicly you can get a rush come to you hard. We do have a few different users who can really help out with this part. I want to re answer a query that you had Tom - why should I be doing this work for you for no reward? Ok, firstly this is not for me or any of the staff personally. We would not be making anything out of this. Hopefully in the future it could potentially make money, which could be used to improve the site. What could users get out of it though? Simple, exposure. The channel already has 600 subs or so, for a lot of people on here an audience of 600 is currently out of their league. If we get it right this number of subs is going to grow, hopefully huge. This will make it much more appealing for someone to work hard on a video and then upload to the channel, rather than directly to their own. Eventually we would want to have a few directors who could put exclusive content onto the channel reguarly, as well as having member uploads done on either a competition basis or just an open standard. I am keen to ensure that the footage is of a certain standard, and it does not just become ZSN 2 with some good and some truly awful. But this is quite a way away, and it will take a lot of work between now and then. CODZ is definitely the most community orientated site that I've ever been a part of, lets try and show that now by making a community effort to get this thing going. If you are at all interested in commentating, or making a gameplay video from one of the existing guides on here please let it be known in this thread, so the staff can organise exactly who will be doing what. If you want to do an EE guide, please again let it be known. Thank you :)
  12. We wouldn't be able to use the riffs from BO, it's against copyright. I have lots and lots of sound effects which I can use, I'll find some and work with Nick, CCM and CJ to get the project completed.
  13. I really am not sure between the MP40, AK and Thompson. They are virtually equal in my eyes. If I could only pick one and they were all on the same map I would be the one in the best location.
  14. How about using the work that ccm has done as a base and overlaying something with AE on top? Wall break, glass break.....some kind of reveal to the animated text behind. You could even use some zombies images, maybe some of the pictures that people have used. Something descriptive about was is contained within the site. This would shatter to reveal the rotating text. And like Tom I like the colors.
  15. Hey Tom, you bring up some very good points. I hadn't even thought about the channel becoming partner. In that case it would be owned by Carbon. I was thinking more along the lines of a community channel for CODZ members eventually. A place to showcase your absolute best work if you wish, or just some random funny gameplay. To make the channel into something that could become big enough to appeal, I'm just looking for some pretty basic strategy stuff, but done in a professional way. Along with some EE guides and song stuff, and some stories. For the strategy stuff it would all be done from existing guides already written on the site. You can just provide footage of you following the guide. Someone else then commentates and it's uploaded. You can then commentate on someone else footage if you have the interest. If you participate in a video your name will most definitely be credited, along with your channel. This will direct some potential new viewers back to your channel, especially as we gain more viewers. I'm aiming for a big win win situation. Random gameplay is certainly going to be appreciated. And regarding the best work you do....I wouldn't ask anyone for that to be exclusive on the channel. For what we are after now the time required to do it should be much quicker. Just edited footage, no bells, no whistles. And nothing which would be original only to you, I don't believe that is fair to ask for in anyway :)
  16. Thanks for the intro ccm, I know it's rough but it's very good for a first attempt. I was thinking of something slightly more epic if it can be done. Rather than a basic 3d text rotation, it would be great to see CODZ with bells and whistles if that makes sense! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFqFkuuMQ_E http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2h14yeY ... re=related More like these, I don't want to embed them into the topic. They are both done in After Effects. Can you do animation of this type by any chance? DarkJoe - it may be only me but my plans for the strategy videos are heavy on collaboration between CODZ members. And as you probably know my bag is strategy, not theory or storyline. I need some suggestions from the theorists as to what they believe can be put in to a video. Once that is done we can spread the work and I'm sure you can do some commentary somewhere mate.
  17. I've been working on some Nacht videos in the last couple of days and it got me thinking about the cutback. It seems that if people don't know it they don't really understand it and it's sometimes hard to describe in words, especially when you hear the term drag out thrown in. Nacht can only be played really with the cutback. What's good about Nacht is the environment forces you to take the right path. Just a quick video with some awesome music just for the CODZ guys. You will see some cutbacks here, including some drag outs kbSfsRR4pls
  18. I've asked in the OP if anyone is interested in making one if they have the skills. If not I know a couple of people I can ask, maybe you do too? I'll ask Liam and Milo if they know anyone. In the long run it would be nice if all videos uploaded had the intro, it would make it seem more professional in my opinion.
  19. That's fantastic. Ideally all stuff uploaded should be staff approved as a group. I just saw that video, it's very good for the site and new users. Hey Super. I think the content needs to be created specifically for CODZ. I'd rather not have footage there that is also available in other places. Once the logo is created it will be made available for download. People can access this and add it to their own videos for instance in a submission for the video contests. This initial stuff however should be freshly made We want it as professional as possible, almost like a new launch.
  20. Hey Guys, So a few of us have been working towards an intro for CODZ. This is just one idea brought to life. I'm going to look at CCM's files later and see what I can do with those. SUc5VZ-KIQo From the meeting earlier today there was some brief discussion about CODZ youtube and the lack of usage that it sees. Some of us have been talking about what we need to do to enable it to grow and help direct traffic to the site, as well as improving the site as a whole. The first thing is definitely content. We are lucky to have within our staff 3 popular youtuber's who can assist us with getting people to see it. However, until there is good content they can't direct anyone! Around August, when more and more information starts coming out around BO2 the site will become busier. We have between now and then to get the channel to the level which this site deserves. What do we need? Firstly we need an introduction. I'm asking if there is anyone on this site who is experienced in high end 3d imaging and animated design who can assist with this. You can work with some of the staff on what is required. This work will be placed at the beginning of any video that goes on the channel. Secondly we need good quality content. Ideally we would need the following - Easter Egg guides for all the current maps, Song guides, Strategy guides, commentaries and random gameplay. We have enough people on this forum, who have strong interests in one or more of these areas who can and are making videos. I'm going to start by making a strategy video for Nacht solo. I will be using Superhands guide with my own twist, and another member is commentating. 3 different users coming together to create content for CODZ. If people show an interest in helping with any of this work we will split the sections up between the staff to arrange for who is going to be doing what. Once BO2 trailers come out we can see if we can put these on there. Commentaries from guys like ROFL in response to trailers. Initially we may not get too many new subscribers but if we have a great channel in place in time for the influx of users, it will only grow. There have been ideas such as video of the week, or month. This would be a great way for users who may not have many subs to get a piece of themselves onto a channel which hopefully will be booming. From the meeting last night people seemed eager to help out with this as much as possible. Please let us know what you are willing to do. Any content created will have been created for CODZ, your community.
  21. I think you just have to keep practising over and over, and then over again. The crawler knifing thing is definitely practise, and aggression. There is an optimum knifing distance it likes to go for which is often the lunge. There are ways to cancel this lunge and use the slash instead which is much quicker and doesn't leave you exposed at all. You need to concentrate on the closest crawler to you and get as close as you can before knifing....make sure you are looking down at it. Literally sprint at it and then as you are about to hit it and be hit jerk back on the controller. You knife almost at the same time you stop moving, but you need to do a little jerk on the right analogue stick to just change your look direction. This forces a slash rather than lunge. As you have slashed and dragged back you can repeat with the next closest crawler. If you watch almost any video on NML you will see this used. It's getting the time right between the 3 moves you make. As I push down the right analogue stick to knife I REALLY push down which causes some movement in the stick at the same time. I just am used to exaggerating this now. With the points thing.....it's 28 seconds before the first buzzer. Within 10 seconds of the game starting I know whether to restart as I'm not seeing enough zombies. Just keep doing this. Honestly, I wasted so much time when I first started playing having only 1280 points when they are running as 9/10 you can't get a PAP done. You really need 1800 to start with. You need early spawners but you also need to kill them as quickly as possible to force new spawns, hopefully in the area you are in. Be aggressive here, the slash makes a huge difference if you start getting it consistently. Before they are running be in speed mode. When I first started playing NML I thought that the 'clear' period after getting hit seemed longer than in the normal mode. Super made a point that everything is so much faster than normal that it seems different. I have done the first grenade so many times now and even if you are 3, maybe 4 seconds after that beep a perfect one into a tight group will definitely get everyone, almost everytime. Maybe it appears that the explosion is right in the middle but it can often look that way but be behind. Otherwise I'm not sure about this. And regarding luck......NML takes a lot of patience, as you do need luck. I've played for like 30 minutes and got only 1 spawn over 1670 or something stupid, then played where 5 games in a row I have over 2000 at the running stage. When it's frustrating as you don't seem to be going anywhere it just seems like it's all against you. Just keep at it mate.
  22. Kino - Juggs QR Speedy Double Tap Five - Juggs QR Mule Kick Speedy Ascension - Juggs Stamina Flopper QR COTD - First 4 bought - Juggs Flopper Speedy Stamina If I go down past say 35 or I may think about buying revive, there have been many discussions about pros and cons of revive before. Shangr-la - Juggs Flopper Quick Revive Speedy if camping, stamina if running. Nacht - Nothing Verruckt - Juggs Quick Revive Speedy Mule Kick (Thompson + MP40 with a speed weapon) Shi No - Juggs Speedy Double Tap Quick Revive Der Riese - Juggs Speedy Quick Revive I leave the 4th perk till at least round 20 and then if I get the Waffe I will take Mule Kick (M&S, Waffe, Various wall weapons).
  23. Hey Murder, I think what Tom said makes a lot of sense. What I would suggest for your FAQ is questions such as - Where can I practise these techniques? What is the best location on the best map? What map should I start with to learn zombies? When should I go online and start playing with randoms? What is the best way to behave when playing online? Realistic ambitions - what should a beginner be aiming for to know that they are improving? But with such a big guide as it sounds, it's very hard for it to be catch all. And a cutback would be unavoidable on a map such as Nacht. Whilst circle kiting is an amazing way to start learning zombies, the cutback does become essential fairly quickly. The most chaotic thing about a cutback is learning how to turn 180 degrees quickly and accurately, which comes down to practise. It seems that you are putting a lot of effort into this and I look forward to reading it when you finish :)
  24. Dude I love your voice, every single commentary you do makes me laugh, but in a good way. You have an enthusiasm which seems to always come through. Good tips as always.
