  1. A few months ago they actually had a CoD sale where every game was 50% off or more, with some pretty decent bundles thrown in there too. It's how I got a few more of my friends into custom zombies because WaW was only $10. Both Black Ops games were around $20 at that point too. I know CoD games are notorious for hardly ever going down in price, but it still happens from time to time and I've noticed it more often in the recent years. Maybe that was just on PSN but still. Tbh though I'm still probably going to pay whatever the price is regardless as long as BO3 turns out well, because then I know custom zombies will definitely be worth the money.
  2. No because I don't see any truly amazing custom maps being made for BO3 until well after release, probably not even until near when the next cod is coming out if even that. At that point I could probably find a pretty good deal for the game on Steam and enjoy custom zombies after I've had my fun in the sun with the main game on PS4.
  3. There really wasn't much new anything in there but it was a nice move by Treyarch nonetheless. Always fascinated to get their commentary on zombies no matter how minute it is. Also nice to see some of that beautiful zombie slaying gameplay in 60fps. Damn that looks good.
  4. I really hope that I will one day get to experience something like this for cod zombies, I could literally die a happy man right after doing so. And this certainly does make me wonder how much of that will actually figure into the story/easter egg. I can imagine the amulet being an item we'll have to obtain and use somehow. I bet we'll have to deposit a bunch of gumballs into something like that too. And it seems a bit more obvious now that Nero is going to be the Ricthofen of this group, somewhat who has some idea as to what's really going on with a highly questionable background.
  5. The radio in which Fluffy came back through the teleporter as the first hellhound occured before the events of SNN, Rictofen then went and retrieved the 3 remaining test subjects from whatever base they were being kept at and took them to SNN. And I think after the zombies initially broke out at Der Riese they spread out all over Europe (basically the first 3 maps of W@W showing the outbreak spreading, with SNN being more or less the start of the O4's story) and them finally traveling back to Der Riese where it all began.
  6. This is the same Rictofen from Origins, which was WWI era, and I don't remember exactly when he touched the pyramid but it was most likely closer to WW2, but certainly after the events of Origins as proven by his personality in Origins, and presumably The Giant is where the 4 went after the end of Origins and it is inferred that the NO4 were given knowledge of basically everything that happened in all the previous games (and maybe even more) and are now trying to prevent certain events from happening. This is also kind of what I was asking, that after knowing what he'll become I think in BO3 he will struggle with trying to deny that particular aspect of him being part of who he actually is and not because of what making contact with the MPD did to him.
  7. This is really great point. Having the classic, smaller experience of The Giant that is mroe akin to classic maps and also having the new massive and chock-full of features map of SoE provides two varied gameplay experiences that make for a better overall experience with zombies at least. They could've added survival maps like their last game to get the same result but by having The Giant as a remake not only does it provide a classic experience but in a classic setting too. I know a lot of people don't like remakes or see it as lazy development, but the story implications for everything they showed in this map is just simply too promising to lament. And not only do we get a new map with new interesting characters and a whole bunch of new features, having The Giant gives us the O4 alongside all of that. And can you honestly be against having the O4 as a playable option from launch?
  8. I really hope Extinction doesn't come back, it was good at the start but it wasn't as enjoyable knowing you had to finish it Well I never played Ghost and honestly will probably never play a non-Treyarch cod game again. That's my solution anyway.
  9. We'll always be getting zombies as long as it continues its current popularity. They even had another studio besides Treyarch make a zombies mode that was pretty similar to the formula Treyarch built for it. Plus there was the somewhat well received Extinction mode. It has pretty much become THE definitive third/co-op mode for cod.
  10. I have several friends getting the game, all of them now interested in zombies. Only 2 got The Giant with their preorders so I'll probably play with them first then with the others on SoE. I already have my campaign run-through crew though, and that's what I'll be doing the most of initially.
  11. Birdman! Get in here!

  12. I figured the map layout would be relatively the same, what I'm expecting is loads of EEs and some juicy new story details. Probably even more relevant than SoE tbh. I'm sure the map itself will be far more interactable this time around as well. And who knows, maybe we will get a new secret area or two.
  13. I'm sure the leaderboards depicting the highest rounds will be back, they've been in every game with zombies so far and I see no reason for them to remove it now. I'm guessing we're going to get a lot of the leaderboards from BO2 zombies as well, like the amount of kills, headhsots, doors opened, etc. Though I would like to see dedicated leaderboards to be match specific like the highest round one, such as most kills/headshots achieved in one game and what not. Relatively minor but still would be a nice addition to make zombies feel more on par with mp.
  14. Yes, Dr. Maxis was hesitant to call Samantha his daughter. Here's the radio: Maybe Samantha was never actually his daughter in the first place and was just playing the long con to get into the MPD and take control of the Aether. I mean one thing that did never actually make sense to me was how she always acted so crazy and basically tried to kill everyone up until Moon when she was forced out. Is it coincidence that she ran straight to the MPD when she got teleported to the Moon? When Maxis is brought to her to try and coax her out and is then presumably shot after telling her to kill them all, instead of crying out in anguish or with rage, she just laughs maniacally like something just got set loose. And with Maxis himself acknowledging his own questionable sanity and some of the odd actions we hear him take in radios from the older maps and the weird way he talks about things, is it possible his mind got warped by Samantha in believing she was his daughter and to tirelessly work on perfecting teleportation to get to the Moon and build whatever else she needed for it? Who really is Samantha Maxis?
  15. I'm sure we'll get some sort of decent award in game for beating it, there seems to be some new actual customization features in zombies this time around.
  16. Literally did not even consider someone, or something, posing as Samantha. I may be going crazy but wasn't there a point in Origins when Maxis was unsure of Sam being his daughter? I really need to go back and catch up on all of this again.
  17. I like the simplistic names, I don't know why but I just prefer it that way. Maybe that's because I give all my custom classes basic names like that. I don't know, it just makes the game feel more punctual and formal.
  18. I believe those are the only perks avaiable at lauch. Hopefully I am wrong though. What is the point of having such a huge city, but then only include a few perks. Unless they used my idea of having multiple speed cola machines etc in the map. My guess is that these will be the only perks WITH JINGLES on launch. I can't imagine they'd throw out such a highly-rated item like the wonderfizz, which doesn't give off perk jingles. Although, we haven't seen the multi-perk machine in the giant, or shadows of evil trailers... I'm beginning to get a bit concerned. I would be shocked if Der Wunderfizz doesn't make it into at least The Giant. I figured it would be their way of including every perk in a map without all the machines.
  19. I'm guessing the DG2 fires like the Tempest from the Prophet specialist in mp (or vice versa as the DG2 did come first) with it hitting a single point of impact and arcing out from there. I can't imagine having two almost identical guns without having the same effects on both. Plus the clock stops right as the teleporter is activated and the NO4 arrive, so maybe it signifies time travel or supernatural meddling from those in the Aether or Agarta as it's also when the zombies come too.
  20. Maybe they decided to add more perks in as part of the day 1 patch ala Mule Kick in BO1?
  21. I wanna say after much analyzation there was some differences between the chairs. It's been a long time since I've read or looked into the chair debate so my memory may be fuzzy on that. And even though their may be some important details, I think both Nacht and Verruckt were early enough that Treyarch didn't have much story in mind with making those and thus any story elements from those 2 maps would be connections made in later maps. Not saying they aren't important, just that all the juicy stuff will be in SNN and beyond.
  22. Alright, I just caught up on the thread. So where are we at right now? Verruct still or SNN? I feel like this may take a while but it should be a fun time killer leading up to BO3.
