In MP I like colorful maps like nuketown, firing range, that sort of lively feel. The opposite holds true for zombies. Verruckt and der reise were freaky because of the whole "you are in a nazi facility covered in blood where the most unimaginably excruciating operations were performed on innocent people" feeling you get. What's worse is the screaming on verruckt.

I didn't like the atmosphere on shangri-la because, well, daytime? That's not scary, intimidating, or menacing at all! The tunnels are are cool but the above ground just looks so innocent and dumb(y'know, apart from the zombies).

No map is remotely scary.

Zombies are low-detailed and generic

Maps are always brightly lit

No suspense

Power ups and points that give it an arcade feeling

Maps are so small you know everything about them

Like able characters spouting off 1-liners

A Round system

Screams on Verruckt are nearly inaudible

My point being, it's an Action game, not a horror game. And it fails miserably at horror.

play with a lower brightness setting... not to the point where you cant see, but just ever so to the point to where you can. ;)
