  1. MPD = the pyramid device on the moon. MTD/MDT (whichever) = the matter-transference devices. I personally hoped that our O4 from the moon would use the Teleporter located in Area 51 to go back in time and kill either Richtofen or Maxis, which will ultimately prevent the MPD from ever reaching mortal hands (ie Richtofen) and indirectly heal the Earth. After all, didn't the trailer for this map say that every story has a beginning and an end? As for the Richtofen insanity debate, I must argue that killing Maxis would ultimately prevent the re-unification of Group 935 in 1939, meaning that Richtofen would stay in the war as an information extractor and never even know the MPD existed.
  2. Keep in mind Takeo is very superstitious- he believes in black magic, spirits and other supernatural forces (after being around hordes of undead creatures for so long, who wouldn't anyway?). Remember that Takeo has always been a big factor in the story- he is the first to get his memory back and realize the true evil in the game...cough cough *Richtofen* cough cough... Since Takeo is so superstitious, I think he is likely getting very uneasy feelings about his future, as if he senses that there is something greater a midst the war...
  3. The eyes are actually a bit brighter than the blue eyes we have seen, in fact they appear more purple than blue. If you are able to see contrasts in shades than I could do a side-by-side comparison. @JustSavage: Also note the patterns seen on the stones behind the zombie- they match the same style of Neolithic art PINNAZ points out in his thread: viewtopic.php?f=155&t=35039 The zombie definitely appears to be Medieval, however I highly doubt the Knights of the Round Table experimenting with 115 Also consider the description of Origins: "a mysterious and ancient ruin". Since this picture appears to be taken underground, I'd assume this is beneath the "mysterious and ancient ruin" in a tomb the "archaeologists of the Reich" were excavating. Due to Element 115 being present on site (a Letter from the Field confirms 115 was being excavated as well) and the Group 935 crate located by the zombie, I assume the 115 present reanimated the corpses buried beneath this ruin, creating the "evil beyond their [the archaeologists] wildest nightmares".
  4. Okay, wow. I think what's most interesting is the purple eyes...perhaps it has to do with the Easter Egg? I'd like to point out Group 935's insignia might be on the crate to the right of the zombie. http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/ ... 46u9rg.gif Also, the cinematic is coming tomorrow, so...yay! :D
  5. ^I said majority, as there were some public outbreaks such as Kino or Five.
  6. Actually many people didn't know because of two things: 1. Majority of the outbreaks were located in remote locations and were often contained quickly after the outbreak occurred. In fact, the only outbreak that was public was "Five", which obviously must have been contained since Call of the Dead occurs (the fact that George Romero is still making zombie films after "Five" can confirm this ) 2. Again: outbreaks that were public (and majority of the other outbreaks) were quickly eradicated by the government. I always felt that the events of "Five" were a wake-up call for the US and it helped them realize the threat the zombies oppose, whether or not they actually were close to civilization.
  7. I highly doubt they are the same, or they are Vril-ya at all. I personally agree with MMX- Richtofen states in KDT that during the mind control research the army was contained, and seeing as how these are containers... Also, I believe that the armored zombies we have been seeing are just one of the "prototype armored weaponry" the Letters of the Field entries discuss. Perhaps these were to be produced as armor for the Central Powers, however after the zombie outbreak the research was lost? Just a thought...
  8. Wow! I'm so excited for the cinematic to be released! Maybe they'll give us some exposition on the O4's story, wouldn't that be cool, guys*? *Trying to get everyone back on the actual topic and stop debating Richtofen's sexuality...
  9. Of course, that's how it will always be. Even if we were to get a map advancing our story, we would still have more questions raised. Also, if you read Tac's threads on the O4 it's pretty solid info as to how our Fearsome Foursome came to be. My point is that for now we really don't need a map advancing our current storyline- that can wait for the future installment to Zombies. Origins will be a way for Treyarch to wrap up the backstory they have created. For now let's just accept the possibility that Buried was our true grand finale for BO2 Zombies' story. Also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agartha :D
  10. People want answers because answers give us facts, and facts give us the story. Why would you want a story that has no meaning or explanation? That's like eating a hamburger with no patty- just bare bread. Without maps like Origins we'd still be wondering why the hell we have a drunk Russian and sword-wielding Japanese soldier fighting alongside a schizophrenic homosexual German scientist. I'd rather see Treyarch finish what they started before they go on to raise more questions. On a side-note, the correct spelling is Agartha- hate to be a grammar Nazi, but it always tickles my OCD when I see it spelled incorrectly.
  11. Sorry...but I think you're putting too much thought into this. Maybe we should just accept the idea that Buried was our ending to the BO2 Zombies story. I agree that it was a huge middle finger to the community, but it is what it is. But knowing Treyarch, we'll be getting orange-eyed zombies in their next game. ;)
  12. I can understand what you are saying, however they were not unimportant- just unimportant to Origins. To the branching story (and specifically the BO2 story) the towers were VERY important. I agree that Treyarch has concluded with a huge cliff hanger. Personally I believe they did this purposely to open a huge new chapter in the story, which they have done with previous games: World at War- Introduced teleportation, which eventually allowed the O4 time traveling-capabilities and sent them to the Cold War era. Black Ops- Richtofen gained control of the Aether's energy and the Earth was heavily damaged to sever his link with Earth (which failed). Black Ops II- Maxis enacted his Plan B, however he revealed it was a front to his real goals and planned to completely obliterate the Earth (Richtofen's ending is more than likely going to be considered non-cannon).
  13. After reading a three-page discussion after getting home from camp counseling, it's time I throw in my own two cents. 1. I absolutely, 100% DO NOT want a prequel. It was like with Die Rise- they were really developing the whole "Maxis vs. Richtofen" story arch, then one month later Treyarch says "hey everyone, we're going to completely halt progression with the main story and focus on a totally irrelevant and meaningless story about four mobsters in Alcatraz, which will in no way ever be referenced in continuity again!" (I know everyone loved that map but I've always been annoyed about how meaningless it was to the overarching plot). But back on topic, I think a prequel is just too much of a cliffhanger at this point. 2. These letters are likely each written in the perspective of our O4 to hype us up for a possible grand return to Zombies (however I am beginning to wonder now if the first was written by Maxis...). 3. The dates shown on these entries suggest Group 935 being in operation long before 1939. Since the Tunguska Event occurred just nine years prior to these excavations for 115, perhaps its properties have only recently been discovered? Also, if Richtofen truly is "the Doctor", who was apparently the one who discovered 115's original properties, perhaps this could explain his hatred for Maxis- despite discovering the element to begin with, Maxis is still given the leadership of 935, fermenting Richtofen's original dissatisfaction with his boss. Just thoughts...
  14. I'm a little confused about what you mean when you say the navcards stay in place, are you saying the icon on maps will still emit a radio signal? Because the nav cards are never "truly in place" as you can go to any map and pick up the nav card from that map if you don't already have it. Unless it was updated to not spawn them anymore after EE is done or if you go to pick them up and try to insert them in their respective machine does it say "nav card already accepted" or something like that lol. Nope, after every Navcard is entered into the correct machine, it will always remain there. However, the map icon will only emit radio frequencies when the Easter Egg for that map has been done as well. After each one is entered into its correct machine, then the one in your inventory will no longer work. Basically, to my belief, once a Navcard is used, it can never be used or picked up again.
  15. I think the button will be used to make both endings canon in the next map. How exactly? Like so: Just like how the activation of polarization devices were saved to one's Xbox Live or Playstation account, or the building of the NAV Table or entering of the Navcards, I believe the game will recognize the most recent pressing of Buried's button and, as a result, effect both the environment and Easter Egg of DLC4. Let's say, for example, I have just done all three Easter Eggs in the favor of Maxis and pressed the button, triggering his outcome on Buried. Then I load up a game of DLC4. The map would then feature zombies with orange eyes and a unique Easter Egg and achievement/trophy for the final Easter Egg for Maxis. But after getting this achievement/trophy, I go back and do all the Easter Eggs in Richtofen's favor, and press the button. Then I load up another game of DLC4 and the zombies eyes are blue and unique Easter Egg and achievement/trophy for Richtofen is featured. Or lets say I have yet to even press the button; the zombies would purely be under Richtofen's control and no Easter Egg would be available. This way, both Easter Egg endings could be considered canon and it would present the player with different endings and new beginnings to the story, much like the campaign.
  16. Well (this is pure speculation) it could very well effect the next map- the game might recognize the most recent time you pushed the button, and depending on what side you pressed it for effect the map and its environment. For example, perhaps if you pressed the button most recently in Maxis' favor, the zombies' eyes would be orange in the 4th DLC map. But of course, that is purely speculation. Which is why I am not pressing it until I know it has some sort of greater purpose.
  17. Well according to Call of the Dead radios, Group 935 was still in operation as of October 1st, 1945, long after the end of WWII. So SNN and Der Riese must take place after Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Secondly, the wiki shouldn't really be used as a reference as it practically has an error(s) on at least every page. I suggest reading Tac's theory regarding SNN taking place in Manchuria, China here: http://callofdutyzombies.com/vBulletin/ ... ured-There It is an interesting theory, but the whole Hiroshima and Nagasaki connection doesn't work. Also, I recommend you play the WaW maps- lots of fun and full of story info you might want to catch up on to get a much better grasp of the plot.
  18. Entering the correct Navcard in its corresponding NAV Table will initially have no visible effect. However, if an Easter Egg side is completed on the same map the Navcard was successfully entered into, the map's icon on the world map will pulsate either blue or orange lightning bolts (depending on the player's allegiance to Richtofen or Maxis) and will emit radio frequencies. When all three are pulsating either all blue or all orange, the button in Buried will become available for use, and will only effect the game in which the button was pressed on. After the game ends, all Easter Eggs must be done again to re-activate the buttons, however the Navcards will remain in place. Basically the effects of the button are not long-term, but it might be possible it effects the last map. Of course, that is purely speculation.
  19. I wasn't aware that Maxis spent a month in the tunnel he mentions in the radios... must've missed that. :? But yes, I agree that the Paralyzer may be the work of Maxis. He might have been attempting to create a weapon to summon Samantha from the ethereal realm, but instead resurrected Sarah Faraday. Though I agree that Michael Faraday is responsible for the electricity present on the map.
  20. I think this is a brilliant theory. You should check out MrRoflWaffles and MurderMachine's theories on the map- it ties into the idea that this little town has been harboring such a giant secret (pun intended). If they're theories are correct, the town was erected by Michael Faraday and his wife Sarah (the possible identity of the ghost haunting the manor) who was experimenting with teleportation and time travel. The discovery of the Big Guy could have been captured by Faraday for his research, explaining why he was kept in the prison. Great stuff, Mr. Grimes.
  21. It's pretty clear Richtofen is purely evil. Even before being driven to insanity from touching the MPD he accused Maxis of being corrupt and stealing credibility, only because he told him to do his real experiments in Group 935. In his Easter Egg, all we do is feed him more power- now the ability to manipulate the living. Why? Because he's evil. He wants power and nothing more. He wouldn't care if the world crumbled apart, piece by piece- only KNOWING he could control everything and anything would appease him. In Maxis' defense, he is only doing this for his daughter. The only thing left in his life that he loves has disappeared and he would do anything to get her back- even if it means killing an entire race. I admit, this is selfish, but it does not make him our antagonist- I mean, at least he isn't trying to enslave the Earth. As for the whole "he knew the missiles would destroy the Earth" argument, there is specific dialogue found in the audio files of Moon where Maxis states: "Wow. That was a much larger explosion than I anticipated. I have done all I can. I certainly hope those calculations were correct." Before anyone asks, here is a link. This quote is said around the 1:17 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotatio ... Dl1IScEYgU
  22. I think its time to call it a stalemate- I still have personally thoughts on the matter (like we all do right now) but in the words of Misty: "We need to remember why we're here!" It's time we stop arguing about who's right or wrong- this the Zombie Story, anything can and WILL happen! We still have one more map to go, guys, let's not argue until we know EXACTLY how things pan out for both of their plans. Until then, let's get out there and tear this map apart for all the story it's got!
  23. It all boils down to the intentions here: at least Maxis was trying to save his daughter, and has stated that he regrets the destruction of mankind as a result but as a father, he is willing to do anything to find Samantha. Richtofen, on the other hand, simply wants the world as his little pet. The only reason why he keeps it alive is because of the power it grants him- if there were no zombies inhabiting it, surely he would dispose of it by now. Also, let's not forget the future presented to the N4 during his side of the Easter Egg- all four of them lay dead surrounded by invincible zombies. Clear proof he plans to leave them for death and find a new host to inhabit after completing his side of the Easter Egg. +10000000 to MurderMachine, Tac and Shooter.
  24. On Richtofen's side, the N4 definitely die, as shown on Round Infinity, and clearly shows that Richtofen abandons them. I doubt that he really cares about Samuel either, considering he said he can materialize in any body he desires. As for Maxis' side of the story, the fate of the N4 is unknown as of this point. My guess is that they will live and attempt to stop Maxis from enacting his plan. In addition, Richtofen is sent to the physical world as a zombie that constantly respawns with blue eyes (this is confirmed) and even tries to communicate and get help from the survivors. Keep in mind that Maxis may not be inherently evil, but the world's destruction is likely an unfortunate effect of his plans. He regrets doing so, but will stop at nothing to be reunited with his daughter- even if it means wiping out the remnants of his former race.
  25. No. People are uneducated on the whole "AI" thing. His soul was trapped within the computers in Griffin Station that were hooked up to the MPD. The idea is that now his soul isn't trapped anymore. @brett: Not sure if I completely agree with your timeline (still working it on myself to be honest), but I agree with your point. Maxis is not evil. People just want to have bragging rights to go "I called it" without actually evaluating the morals and ethics of what is happening. My exact thoughts when all this blasphemy began. Personally this evidence was given completely out of timeline, I was simply writing it out to get the point across of the struggle with Maxis. In fact, I believe you and I previously convened our thoughts due to our shared beliefs that we are in the 2020s on the Die Rise forums back in the day. But yeah, this is not my timeline, I simply jotted down my evidence at the time out of order in regards to the story.
