How was Griffin Station created?
MysteryMachineX replied to flxdl's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Well, Richtofen went to the Moon when it was bare. The only technology was that left by the Vril-Ya. Since then, it's been modified by Germans and Americans, both of whom have technology inferior to the Vril-Ya. The Vril-Ya likely had oxygen under control. -

Survey about difficulty of zombies
MysteryMachineX replied to Matuzz's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Zombies is good as is. If this is too easy, then what you get might still be too easy, as masters of the game will always raise their par to the game. It just makes getting to be a master harder, and when it ends up taking forever to become a master difficult or just impossible, people don't want to play the game. Furthermore, if such a theoretical peak of impossibility exists, eventually no one will be able to play the game. Even if you stop just before the peak, only the pros will get to play the game at its extent. The pros are not what the game is about. Zombies is for recreational players, hobbyists, advanced players, AND pros. You can't start to exclude one group. The mechanics are down pat; there is no reason to change them. No Man's Land brought something extra without changing too much. The pros get to have fun; the hobbyists occasionally a reckless, headstrong challenge, but unskilled players have the option of skipping it altogether and just going for Moon. -
How was Griffin Station created?
MysteryMachineX replied to flxdl's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Richtofen, as detailed in Moon Radio 3, accidentally traveled to the MPD, which is in the Moon. Moon Radio 5 is an opening announcement to former members of Group 935, a group he sequestered to betray Dr. Maxis. Later, when Germany fell, the USA and USSR both took their own programs in 115. Sometime after the '60's, which may have been after the USSR collapsed (which would make it '90's), the United States discovered Griffin Station. They built teleporters, which were reverse engineered from the German ones, and they installed one in Area 51, while making rennovations on the Moon one as well, presumably for compatibility. (I say this because in Moon Radio 3 and Moon Film Roll 6, there is clearly oxygen in the MPD room, while there no longer is.) -

Cavemen during the Jurassic Era?!!! jk jk Yes, there'd be cities down there. They're really advanced. And hey, some nature (as in magma) couldn't hurt :P

I think that they should teleport to the innards of the Earth. There is no reason not to. In fact, it is the only place left in the game could possibly have oxygen. There's references in the storyline for vril, and thus the subterranean race Vril-Ya, who logically could've been wiped out by the rockets and zombified, thus making zombie Vril-Ya (which are at least sub-human). The oxygen would still be there simply because the inner Earth is so sealed, with only minimal leakage. I think it'd make a cool map.

Custom zombie character qoutes?
MysteryMachineX replied to MrDriller's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I've always liked the idea of there being a Civil War map, and if the characters were a Union soldier, Confederate soldier, Native American, and slave, to respect the war, then I think it'd be awesome if the slave would yell "Emancipate this!" when he kills a Zombie. -
Yeah, I think it's in your head. Since the very beginning of Zombies, players have always fleeted before the idea of the zombies getting stronger, faster, or more numerous as a direct result of some action on their part. Whether it be dying on purpose, doing the Easter Egg, killing the Pig, or even buying Mule Kick, not only are they not true, it doesn't make much sense. I just mean- that as a developer, what would I have to gain from correlating Mule Kick and zombie health? Logistically, what could be any kind of connection that such a thing would have to have, i.e. how does a drink make zombies become more powerful? It's kinda like how if you think about how the color red is more common than the other colors, you'll notice a lot more red and a lot less of the other colors.

For those who have received their telegram from HRH
MysteryMachineX replied to Chopper's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Keep an eye on Nukes. They will, at max, reduce your wave count by one. But they might, depending on circumstances, not take out a whole wave. Also, formulas for Zombies per Round will most likely be a few Zombies off at higher Rounds, so don't rely on them for individual Zombies. -
All Current World Records For Black Ops & W@W Nazi Zombies
MysteryMachineX replied to Shooter's topic in Black Ops
I'm pretty sure it only occurs every other round actually. Any chance you could find out? Or know how I could find out? I find this very interesting. @way2g00: They have huge glaring titles with images separating them into two finite sections with a third miscellaneous one following it.... What more do you want? -

So he didn't get the Insta-Kill bug? I thought you'd get it whenever you got that high a Round. -

Not that much harder than other maps. Since DS is only 1 or 2 players, finding separate scores for 1 player and 2 players is probably a waste of time. House: 19: TheSuperColombiano & LoW~Bird o3sxmOmg_6w Facility: 27: TheSuperColombiano & Ragna|SA RP2Byii__5s Temple: 28: TheSuperColombiano & iB.Taiga B6w7ctn6b0Y Overlook: 24: TheSuperColombiano & Beast|SAr TXK8jG664II -
Lol. Well it isn't by much. the AK74fu2 is 304,000 overall, while the 1001 Samurai's is 308,000. As for the topic itself, these are really point weapons, so usefulness really isn't the largest concern, but technically the AK74fu2 is better, as it deals 304,000, while the Skullcrusher only deals 225,000 plus 1,200 in the grenade launcher.

Actually the 1001 Samurai's does the most damage :P

All Current World Records For Black Ops & W@W Nazi Zombies

I have a suggestion. Add a World Record for the highest Round of Zombies on the Wii. Also do one for the highest Round on each of the maps for Zombies DS. -
Your first paragraph brings up good points that I didn't know. But your second leaves something to be desired. I know you're the most knowledgeable Dead Ops player, but your mannerisms seemed more like a tyrant than a leader. (i.e. "I declar[e] this [...] invalid") A lot of things in your argument, which may have seemed like common sense to you, didn't and doesn't come so easily to people who aren't veterans of the level. Your first paragraph had some good logic. Did you say all that before? Probably, but not like that. And I also find it a bit insulting you compare my reasoning as "poor". If you have good reasons to declare a record invalid, you'll have to explain them to where others can understand. I'm not saying you did a bad job; I thought you had done well. But apparently there are many things that didn't come to my mind that did to you. But as for your last statement: What, did you really expect to make a declaration without someone challenging it? You've made good points, so I'll back off. But if your declarations are really noteworthy, they'll be able to handle a challenge, making them stronger. So be prepared to argue them; not shoo people away because of their ignorance of Dead Ops.

I didn't misunderstand. You talk about an invisible monkey. You act as if they had one. Or is it really that you don't know? If they did, then it is justified. If they didn't, well oh well, because we don't know. Most people don't upload every single Round. People are required to post every single Round for a World Record? This doesn't hold true for the "non-DoA folks"; I don't see why the DoA folks should be treated special. Perhaps their footage of those Rounds became corrupted? Honestly, if you're going to refute such a painstakingly high game with such small evidence, all of the World Records of high Rounds with little footage of lower Rounds should be refuted.

I don't know... I think you are being too harsh. It was a glitch that was put upon them. They didn't choose to do it. Sure they could've just toughed it out, but were else but the grave would that have gotten them? A Cosmic Silverback is tough enough, not to mention an invisible one. What comes to my mind is other glitches in Zombies. Imagine high-Round players on Moon getting murdered by the Astro-Zombie's death-glitch-sprint. Is it avoidable? Yes. But more often than not it results in death of the team. People often in result glitch him to get stuck in the wall, feeling justified that the removal of the Astro-Zombie is a fair trade for the Astro-Zombie's sudden gain in speed. And what about the Insta-Kill Bug on the World Record 171 Ascension playthrough? We assume that it was unavoidable, but what if it wasn't? What if the game just broke down and has a chance of doing that, just as it has a chance of restarting automatically (which ended up happening)? Should we disqualify the player for "glitching" and killing the Zombies so fast? I feel they just used a glitch to overcome another glitch they were unfortunately given. It was a mere fraction of the total number of Rounds. They show more than enough that they have the necessary skill to achieve such a Round had luck and system scripts been kinder. Imagine yourself in their shoes. After probably half a day to a couple days of Dead Ops gameplay, getting to Round 117, you're on your way to an absolutely killer game, and then the game sends your way an unfair, seemingly-impossible challenge. Everything you've worked for is about to be ruined by a hiccup in the script, one that should not be there. You do what is necessary to survive, grudgingly probably, but you do it, feeling justified in that you are only using a glitch to survive a glitch. Tit for tat.

All Current World Records For Black Ops & W@W Nazi Zombies
MysteryMachineX replied to Shooter's topic in Black Ops
I'm sorry. I was a bit bitter at the time I posted. I apologize. If this does get put in place, make sure that the highest Round overall records take priority, above these. No, I am on my 1366 x 768 computer. While it may look okay on your computer, which I assume is high resolution, you may want to try to appease the masses, so to speak, and make it friendly for other computers that don't have such a high resolution. I've been on forums a lot, and this is a first for me. My computer's resolution isn't relatively low compared to the average person, I believe. I would either change it to "Black Ops Zombies Current World Records" or add in World at War records. Either way seems good. But if you are going to go with suggestions, such as Tom's above, I think you should add the World at War records for the sake of comprehensiveness. Nacht der Untoten looks good, but the rest still seem scattered. -

Why is this called "World at War and Black Ops" when there are only Black Ops records? The title is completely misleading. Also, something that needs to be fixed: "Solo_______45 Rounds______MatoMaster21 Co-Op_______41______RelaxingEnd Christian$87, & ArcHEnemYz___" This seems to be a formatting error. -
Another Clue to Kino's Year?
MysteryMachineX replied to Rissole25's topic in General Zombies Discussion
The note? I've pretty much discounted it due to its little use and uncertainty. For example, most people think that that note date says '75. I disagree, as that is contradictory. I say it says '35. Here are two different images for the note. The first one is the most often used, and it is slanted, so it appears to say '75. The second is flat, so it could say '35. There's no further way to argue it, and there are some people who still think '75 and some who think that it could be either. All this really amounts to is that the note doesn't necessarily contradict chronology. -
