  1. Welcome back to the forums then lad! As usual, we're bustin' up many theories and things are only getting better and juicier. Glad that you could come back! :)
  2. The pylon in my game w/ Way was awfully bright and colorful. We constantly checked the laundromat doors, and I even experimented with the clock formations. Still, no NavCard is accepted yet.
  3. viewtopic.php?f=100&t=26010 The closet system we have so far in regards to how ranking works in zombies.
  4. My apologies - I wrote that in the middle of a game. What I'm trying to get across is that some of the clocks have a particular design. For instance, the two in the Depot have Sun rays around them, whereas the one in Diner has a Moon around it. I'm thinking ahead towards the idea of the Navcard's success and a transition in Day/Night.
  5. Call me crazy, but the clocks in certain locations have Night and Day symbols around them..
  6. The reason why this step was overlooked was because most people automatically assumed that setting Turbines down at Diner and Depot (including the two under the pylon) would have created that said triangle. Even more so, Maxis will say the quote about the obtuse scalene whether you did the steps in chronological order or not. Hell - he'll even state it before power is even on, so it threw off players even more. Either way it goes, i this is what leads to activating the acceptance of the Navcard, then so be it.
  7. I'd say it has to be the one at Bus Depot. If you place a Turbine down there, Maxis will speak up about the triangle formation. Judging by the picture of the map and how the triangle looks, I'd say that's the correct formation anyways from there.
  8. Also, do you remember after finishing the tower for the achievement, when you see orbs under the streetlights that protrude light beams towards the direction of the tower? If I recall, the ones that I find significant are the one immediately upon exiting Town and the Diner.
  9. I suppose in order to activate the "hands", one would have to create a portal under a streetlight.
  10. Could you post the clip with the siren sound?
  11. So would you say that getting the orb on top of the Tower is a result of having the correct Navcard, or vice versa?
  12. Hey hey - welcome to the zombie community! I'm glad you love the theories that we have thrown out into the public. Zombies is definitely a most interesting story, and many of the members here aim to fully complete the puzzle. I'm sure that as long as you stick around with us, you'll be able to share theories of your own. After all, it only takes one voice to spark millions. Gotta love those Aussies! I love you too already.
  13. Yes ; we had power on.
  14. I knifed the door for what seems to be like 10 minutes and the volume all the way up. Nothing was heard but the wind.
  15. I don't like the idea of high rounds playing a factor in this. Why? Well I actually have personal evidence of this. I call it rage quitting. What does that have to do with ranking up? Well, Prodigy said that rounds will make some kind of factor in the system. As much as I'd love to support the claim, I'm afraid I can't. Y'see, I reached my Shotties while playing tons, and tons of Survival. I'm already aware that a person dropping from your game results in the rounds not being saved. There's evidence 1. Now when I used to play Survival matches, I always had at least two people per game leaving simply because they died often, or they just really sucked that game. Once the game had officially been finished, I would notice an average of Rounds 30-40. But because of those two players leaving before Round 15 or so, I only gained the statistics for reaching up in the high rounds yet only had a recorded Round Below 15 where the players left. Evidence 2. This made me realize that I could manipulate how well my game went based on the number of people in my game. Ever since I discovered that my stats would be recorded regardless how many people were left in the game, I used rage quitting to my advantage. Every Survival game I played, I would make everyone on the team rage quit before Round 10. Henceforth, I had the whole game to myself and would average anywhere from 1k - 3k per game given on my luck with weapons (Ray Gun is MUST in Farm). Sure, I would never see my rounds up in the leaderboards, but my stats would shoot through the roof because of my amazing gameplay and there you go - earned my Shotguns. Evidence 3. Concluding this, high rounds only make up in ranking up if your kills, downs and headshots are of superb value. If you think about it, the general zombie slayer will earn higher statistics in higher rounds than having a perfect game in lower rounds. It's kinda like saying if you went to an Ivy League college, then you're smart. Well, no sh!t that's true. I think we just happened to overlook that bridge in my opinion. :)
  16. I feel you. Even when we know that K/D is apparently the best system that we can come up with (which also works might I add), I'm sure there are still a few other minor factors that still need to be explained. I remember once when people assumed that having those "perma-perks" were a factor in ranking up. There's got to be some method of how other stats besides kills and downs play into the system, but there's nothing truly coming to mind other than allowing the player to obtain skills. When you think about it, here's how it is detailed when you justify each stat to a particular instance: Kills > Rank Bullets Fired > ? Downs > Rank Revives > Skill (Quick-Revive) Grenade Kills > ?/Skill ("PHD Flopper") Headshots > Skill (Head-splosion) Deaths > ? Gibs > ? Perks Drank > ? Doors Opened > ? Accuracy > ? Distance Traveled > ?/Skill ("Auto-Stamin Up) I suppose the ones labeled with ?'s could be the remaining factors is leveling up. If we were to go by that standard, you'd have to be God mode in those statistics to make up for a low K/D ratio.
  17. Considering that makes 5 buildables and only four players, you can't. Hoarding equipment isn't possible in that manner, so either have all the original buildables or take out the Turbine for the Jet Gun.
  18. It looks like the Moon, but not as much as a spectacle as the one in Shangri-La. When think of a possible "transition", I still think of the billboard in the Tunnel that says DAY /2 M E. I honestly can't think of what might transition the day - night, since playing in-game for a few hours do not seem to trigger it. But with Shangri-La, you were creating the night due to time travel (which is very relevant in the storyline, so there's no exception for someone to say that time travel is impossible).
  19. Hey buddy! Welcome to the zombies community! I'm sure you'll find many, many players to team up with you in whatever mode you wish to choose. As for zombie theories and the storyline, you'll be surprised as to what our fellow slayers come up with. We only have the best community for that. Hope to see you around more often!
  20. The Denizens will only attack you if you are on a plot of land that contains dirt, grass, soil, etc. Because the bridge is mainly a wooden frame with no dirt whatsoever, they cannot dig up from the wood. The only way they can attack you on the bridge is if you originally were near a patch of dirt and walked onto the bridge just as one spawned. On top of that, I scavenged around the bridge numerous times after reading the post and there is nothing on there - no buildable parts, no workbench stations, nada.
  21. Is it just me, or does anyone else notice the electricity zapping out of the spire on the church? Seems like something we've been talking all along.
  22. Welcome to the zombie community! As for your sudden idea, it's actually been brought up quite a few times. By travel place to place, you mean via the bus, correct? If so, that probably will be unlikely to happen. Story-wise, the idea becomes more applicable. But in-game, going from one map to another map via a small transportation shuttle just doesn't work out well. I don't think the game could handle two main maps in one given instance, and it certainly would not load into another map with the presented statistics of each player and everything in between. You'd better expect your console to catch on fire, haha. But hey - it doesn't mean it's impossible. ;)
  23. It is a limited time offer. The DLC will always be available for purchase, but you wouldn't be saving those $10 like the image shows. I'd say in about a month or so, you'll only be able to buy the Nuketown Zombies map (and at its original full price) rather than the combined essentials.
  24. Hey bro! Welcome to the zombie community, where you'll find people who also love zombies just like you. We too are all about zombies; so much so, we might as well be ones. But hope to see you around more often!
  25. viewtopic.php?f=100&t=11967 It's our best guess yet.
