Carrion Analysis

Alright guys, this is my first legit post relating to zombies in a long time, so here it goes. Carrion, the TranZit Easter Egg song, was posted to youtube by Kevin Sherwood tonight, and after a few listen throughs and from looking at the lyrics, I decided to make an analysis of what I got from it. This is everything I've thought up roughly, I will edit it if needed, but anyway here you go. :D

Like a dream where I’m falling and calling out

My resistance is silent

I can feel but I still can’t control myself

Please forgive me

(Vocals have changed from female vocals [representing Samantha’s control of the zombies] to male vocals [representing Richtofen’s control of the zombies]. These first few lines sound like someone who is being controlled, their body used as a vessel for another being with less than holy intentions. Referencing a quote from Winter Soldier #12 about brain washing, “Here’s the thing about being under mind control, the part that nobody talks about... you’re still in there... some small piece’a you is awake... watching. Like being a passenger in your own body. You struggle to break loose. Over and over again... you lose. And it makes whatever you’re forced to do that much worse...” By taking this quotes meaning into account, it seems there is a part of Richtofen still in his body watching all that happens, and truly is sorry for what has done and is begging for forgiveness. We know that Richtofen was merely curious in the pursuit of science before teleporting to the moon, but once he touched the pyramid his drive suddenly changed to a deadly passion to control the dead, and this is where he begins hearing the voices.)

Now

Now

Shadow nothing (reference to the riddles in Abracadavre [first and second verses], this is what he has become now)

All I am

Stalking killing

All I can

I was spawned from eternal night

By infernal rite

And I need your carrion

(Night does not have to refer to the night that we know, of darkness caused when the sun sets, but also to misfortune and sinfulness, so from the viewpoint of Richtofen, or what is controlling him, he became a monster because of some misfortune [the voices in his head] by a very brutish and hellish way [possibly from Shangri-La?]. Carrion is decaying flesh, so we know zombies needs the carrion for some form of nourishment, but for Richtofen, could he need the zombies for something again, like how in Moon you had to kill zombies as part of the Easter Egg? )

Neurons fire when I violate

Pupils dilate

And I feel your carrion

(The lines about Neurons [speaking of Serotonergic neurons, or serotonin, an excitatory] and pupils dilating are all effects of becoming enticed by something, in this case, something evil in nature. The reference of carrion once again has to deal with the zombies.)

I could scream but I know I won’t hear myself

I’m a slave to synapses

(Synapses allows a neuron to pass a chemical or electrical signal to another cell, so it is a form of communications for cells. In this situation, if the synapses is used in a metaphorical sense, there is no way for the version of Richtofen trapped inside his body to communicate with the outside world because he is a ”slave to the synapses” of his body)

In my dream is the sound of a lullaby (reference to Lullaby for a deadman)

Calling me the

One (reference to The One)

I’m undone (reference to Undone)

And they’ll all run from the chosen one 1 5 (reference to 115, “I am the chosen one left hand of all that’s sacred...”)

Vermin martyr (line from Coming Home “I need you to sacrifice the vermin martyr...”)

Just as planned

(Now the control has switched over, aside from the chorus in between. Whatever is inside of Richtofen may be using his body to free itself from something. It now is taking on the role of the chosen one, a god, like Samantha had when she was in control. She too was sorry for what she had done, but found it a necessary evil as revenge for her father’s death. What is inside also is taking on the role of the vermin martyr, willing to die in this human’s body it commandeered to achieve its goal, or freedom.)

I was spawned from eternal night

By infernal right

And I need your carrion

Neurons fire when I violate

Pupils dilate

And I feel your carrion

I bring doom and defile light

Your entire life

Will now cease to carry on

(Richtofen is bringing doom and destruction through the zombies, and is destroying what was good in the world, what had once lit up people’s lives. Also showing that he can bring death by mentioning that your life will cease to carry on)

I’ve returned and I’m not alone

Never to atone

And forever carry

(Could reference to the return of Richtofen as the controller of the zombies being used as a means of an army. Richtofen [or what is using his body] never plans to make amends for what it has done, making Richtofen’s plea of “please forgive me” from the first verse null, and plans to continue his tyranny forever.)

On

And on

Until everyone is gone

(This rule will extend to and past the death of every human being, especially those that stand in the way of his plans.)

Hear their begging

And their pleading

And their crying

See them bleeding

(This is a no brainer, many would beg, plea, and cry so that they may be spared the carnage.)

And they run

And run

Till they cannot carry on

Carry on

Carrion

Carry on

I was spawned from eternal night

By infernal right

And I need your carrion

Neurons fire when I violate

Pupils dilate

And I feel your carrion

I bring doom and defile light

Your entire life

Will now cease to carry on

I’ve returned and I’m not alone

Never to atone

And forever carry on

(From then on it is the same over again.)

Not too shabby, I like it. I immediately caught the references to the other songs, but man I am missing Elena right about now. If anything they need to include Elena as a duo with this guy, even though I thought he was crap.

The awkward moment when it's Kevin singing.

No actually I have no idea who it is. It just has Kevin Sherwood so I'm only guessing. But I agree Elena needs to come back. :(

I would like Elena as long as she doesn't do the screamo's. They're horrible!

However, her voice was sweet and engaging, showing that mystery of Samantha and her feelings, it was bursting with the "good, shining" side of the zombie apocalypse, like the evil we faced was a necessary evil.

Current singer sounds so boring and maybe if he was louder and more engaging, I'd like him. For now on - both the text and the singing didn't make much impression on be, besides the clues that indicate that Richtofen might not be the real bad guy in the story - just as I hoped it would be!

there are 3 easter egg songs in tranzit another one is that god awfull dubstep song by Skrillex 4YPdJSguYFs

It's not that bad at all, actually.

I love dubstep to death, and mixed with Zombies I love it even more, but I don't like this song very much.

I think the song clearly tells us that Richtofen is not fully in control... Please keep in mind we hardly know the real Edward...

This just proves the theory about something far more dangerous than him lying in the Aether.

GO EDDY!

I've changed my mind. I like the song. I love those references to the past EE songs.

Richtofen, Samantha, and whoever else gets into the MPD are powered by the death of Zombies. That's why he needs them.

I know that now after the map has come out and the egg has been done, but yeah.
