Possibility on how the gang got to Ascension

Recommended Posts

Perhaps Ascension takes place before Kino, and the gang had "Time slip" if you will. What if they were fighting in Kino and they went forward in time, to where Sam had just found out Gersh or Yuri was in her "Realm", and she wanted to test the gang to see if they could free him.

This could make sense, as the group is shown landing as the level starts. Once you free Yuri or gersch, Sam gets mad, thus thrusting you to the next map, which is leading me to believe it has something to do mainly with Sam this time. Why? Shi No Numa is mainly about Takeo, maybe where he was stationed. Der Reise is more about Edward and Ludwig. Kino is more about the mystery man and kind of a recap of the zombie storyline. Five is just a map centered on JFK, McNamara, Castro, and Nixon surviving(or not hehehe). Ascension is about Yuri and Gersch, so maybe they will come in later, and have more importance.

Or the gang saw the Lander fly in and land in the Alley, they climbed on and it took them to the Ascension Map. The Characters are on the Lander entering the Centrifuge Chamber. Perhaps it was Gersch who brought them so they could get him out of....whatever the Hell he was trapped in. (Guessing Aether)

So they took a lander that has to refuel/cool down every ride on Ascension, but it can fly from a theatre in Berlin all the way to a Russian cosmodrome?

I think that they took a rocket to there from the moon, it sounds crazy but I had it posted somewhere in Ascension forums fully paned out.

ok, here is the only and most likely reason how the team got from Kino to Ascension.

In on the Kino Stage there is a Teleporter, and a Difference Engine, we also know that because of this, we travel through the aether into 4 rooms...

Sams room - Good

Sams room - Evil

Examination room

Groom lake / Pentagon / Chyenne mountain

now we are projected through the aether to these locations (all be it for a short amount of time) as stated on the wall behind the difference engine is written Aether Projectionist

however the Thundergun is a wunderwaffe which has Russian writing (You with me so far?)

Maxis projected himself through the Aether and took a Thundergun from Ascension (or plans) and that is why there is a Thundergun with Russian writing on it in kino.

We know that the team travelled forward in time from Der Riese to Kino due to the Teleporter being shot with the wunderwaffe DG-2.

taking this information that Richtofen knows (via kino launch scene and quotes in map), it isnt hard stretch that Richtofen would have put 2 and 2 together and shot the Teleporter (with the thundergun to open a permanent 1 way travel through the Aether Projection into Ascension

Well why would Nazi symbols still be in the theater twenty years later? I think that Kino takes place because of the use of Gersch devices in Ascension, but the Fab Four would have never got to Ascension if it weren't for Kino. See the Gersch devices in the future create a time rip between the weapons of the future and the time of the past, so the boys traveled in time only somewhat to the future, the teleporter just sends them to the place where Maxis first showcased teleportation, they are in a limbo between the past and the future. When they are pulled all the way through to Ascension. They end up on the lunar lander and come down, while fighting zombies and monkeys, they use Gersch devices, and further the time paradox they are stuck in. They are trying to free Gersch from the Aether so he can help them out of their time loop.

Just a theory.

A good theory too. The whole story is one massive paradox in my opinion

Who's to say they went to a different place after Kino and before Acsension? There is no evidence saying that Acsension took place right after Kino.

Yeah but with future weapons in both, and how Ascension takes place in a cosmodrome, which didn't exist in the 40s, but the Nazi theater in Kino did. In Kino they were in a time rip, caused by their future activities in Ascension. Once they used the Wunderwaffe to aid in time travel, the continuum was messed up. There are no rules. For now, I think the paradox is a good theory, it makes sense. Whether our CoTD is a prequel will change this theory, and when we know where the Fab Four are going after Ascension, maybe this will all make more sense.
