  1. I won't be spending any more CoD points until it's possible to actually physically spend them on specific things like Gobblegums (i.e. Perkaholic). Think this would actually increase sales, a lot of people aren't looking to spend money on things they might not get.
  2. For the first time in a long time, I'm quite excited to see what the next map brings. I get the impression that everything between Moon and Eisendrache has been an outlandish experiment to try things out and see what people will like and what they don't. We don't like spending ages just to set up the PaP, we don't like maps so large that it takes forever to get around, we don't like taking over an hour just to get set up by round 10; we do like the option of being able to get a quick game going, being able to get across the map quickly, having traps that are actually useful and having a choice of various play styles. Eisendrache encapsulates this and, as far as I can see, is set to become an all time fan favourite. I swore that I'd never do a round 100 run again, but this map just gives me those feels that I used to get about Black Ops 1 maps that just made me want to play them over and over, and a casual solo game yesterday turned into the first 100 I've done in several years. I hope I get the same vibes with this next map!
  3. Forgot that one, oops! It'll be near the bottom anyhow, can't stand it XD As you can probably tell, I wasn't a fan of Black Ops 2.
  4. So I guess this is an expansion of "top 10 maps" threads. You can include the DOA maps if you like but it's not essential since a lot of us don't play DOA. 1) Moon - Always loved this map, perfect balance between complexity and simplicity, many fond co-op memories 2) FIVE - First map that I had online games with my friend on, such memories... 3) Der Riese/The Giant - The W@W version was the first map that got me into zombies after split-screening with my friend 4) Der Eisendrache - Really enjoying this map atm, best map out in a LONG time 5) Ascension - This is the first map in which I started seriously getting into solo, my first round 100 too! 6) Kino - Another map that I played a lot of solo on and learned how to abuse traps 7) Call of the Dead - Enjoyed this map on the whole 8) Shi No Numa - Didn't play this map a great deal but had some good games on it 9) Nacht - HARD, but pretty fun 10) Shangri La - Don't really like the atmosphere on this map, but it's challenging 11) Verruckt - Love the scenery, but it's a bit boring to play 12) Nuketown - Pretty fun, shame there's not much more powerful than the Ray Gun 13) Origins - Decentish, seemed a bit experimental though with a bunch of ideas that didn't really work for me 14) Mob of the Dead - Not bad 15) Buried - Didn't enjoy at all tbh 16) Die Rise - Zzzzzzzz.... 17) Tranzit - Piss poor, dreadful idea, the individual Survival maps weren't too bad but very nothingy 18) Shadows of Evil - Hate everything about it, happy to never play it again
  5. Why do you feel the need to do the easter egg each and every time you play, though? A typical Eisendrache solo game for me (even though I've only done a few proper ones) is get the storm bow, get wall weapons with Dead Wire and then get to the highest round I can/can be bothered to get to. If you pursue a lengthy easter egg each time you play, I can see how that'd get boring.
  6. Good stuff buddy! Good to know that people wouldn't just be able to spam the machine 3x a round and probably get an Alchemical Antithesis every round in the high rounds because it'd drain your points rather quickly. EDIT: Well, I did a run to 100 today and can confirm these figures to be accurate! Nice work!!
  7. COTD I could give or take, but ascension is an all time classic! If you like Kino and Moon you'll like Ascension. What makes you put Tranzit at the top though? Abomination of a map is the general concensus XD
  8. Good update then me thinks. Costing more means those extra hits have tob be earned and it was brutal having to hit the machine once per round in the high rounds, but having infinite hits on it would have serious abuse potential. Good to see Treyarch improving these new features on the fly with this game, rather than throwing in a bad idea and leaving it to stink like a cat turd in the corner like they've done in previous games!
  9. Looks like Treyarch read this thread and turned all the ideas into Gobblegums XD We had PhD Flopper in Black Ops 1 which did that, damn I miss that perk. On maps without some sort of defensive weapon we'd always PaP the pistol that you start with and get PhD Flopper and know we could blast our way out of trouble for a good 40 rounds, or if someone else got the wonderweapon in co-op.
  10. Spot on mate. What with the alternate ammo types as well, you basically have a wonder weapon accessible (either Blast Furnace or Dead Wire since the update) to kill hoards with right up to and beyond the 50s. You could potentially go to round 100+ in very decent time without building a single thing or doing any type of egg or quest, or without even using the box if you chose not to.
  11. As you can tell by their number of downs, my team mates sucked XD Combination of Widow's Wine and the electric bow saved my ass a fair few times NGL, the wolf bow is actually better for getting you out of trouble but the electric bow also works well and is just a killing machine haha, hence me also having the most kills. Eisendrache is a pretty big map but the Wunderspheres help you get about quickly for cross-map revives.
  12. Played a game with some rando's on Eisendrache and managed a ratio of 0:61 - that's 0 downs, 61 revives!
  13. I'd love them to all be remade a la The Giant style with the new quirks. It'd never happen, but I'd love it if they did it.
  14. Considering as well that Rezurrection was (or might still be, I haven't checked) the highest selling DLC in CoD history, it's weird to think that Treyarch didn't take that as a hint that they'd sell more DLCs if more zombie maps were included, particularly if they catered to both generations/types of player by making one elaborate map and one simple one.
  15. 1) Moon 2) FIVE 3) Der Riese/The Giant 4) Der Eisendrache 5) Ascension 6) Kino 7) Call of the Dead 8) Shi No Numa 9) Nacht 10) Shangri La Never thought new maps would make it on, but Der Eisendrache has been the first map in a long time where the messing around trying to get stuff isn't actually too tedious and the map isn't overly large so you don't have to travel miles to rebuy stuff. All that stuff you had to do in Shadows just to get the PaP, and that's before you've even built any weapons! Powering stuff up with beast mode as well, what was that.......
  16. Speed Cola was never called Sleight of Hand, people just used to call it Sleight of Hand because it did the same thing as the multiplayer perk of the same name. Same way people used to call Juggernog "Juggernaut".
  17. So I've just been discussing this with @anonymous in another thread - the way Treyarch in W@W and in earlier Black Ops maps used to just take multiplayer or campaign maps and rehash them into a zombies map - in W@W Nacht was a bunker from Airfield, Verruckt was Asylum, Shi No Numa was Semper Fi, Der Riese was Nightfire, and the trend for rehashing continued in Black Ops. I proposed an idea in the thread that since zombies has become so popular, that more zombies maps should be released per DLC, and what with the fact that a lot of people still prefer the old style maps without all the quests, building, zombie bosses and other stuff (hence why The Giant proved popular even with people that had never played Der Reise), maybe one elaborate map and one basic rehash map might be an idea? Anyhow, if you could pick any map from either the campaign, multiplayer or Nightmares, which would it be? Bare in mind, some of these maps are huge and the back-to-basics map needn't be, so picking out a particular portion (or even a few portions meshed together) would be necessary. I haven't thought of any ideas yet haha, but I'll chip in once I have!
  18. Yeah, Der Reise was based on the multiplayer map Nightfire (on W@W obviously). The W@W maps seemed to be heavily based on multiplayer maps and then come Black Ops DLCs the maps were becoming more and more original, with the later maps like COTD, Shangri La and Moon only containing small elements of multiplayer and campaign maps. Ascension was based on the multiplayer map Launch but the last map that was really heavily based on a level from campaign or multiplayer was FIVE, which of course was based on the Pentagon from the Campaign. The guys that make Zombies are so experienced now that it wouldn't take them long at all to take a multiplayer, campaign or Nightmares map and do a standard zombifying job. Hell, if they made a map out of Nightmares a lot of the spawn point work has already been done. Think I've just had an idea for a fun thread XD
  19. Thanks :) Well, you're clearly doing good for the time you've been around, late congrats on UoTM!
  20. I think it's silly that Zombies has become such a huge part of Treyarch CoD games, yet we still only get ONE zombie map per DLC and we get several multiplayer maps. Why can the zombies team not spend the large portion of their time on a new, huge map, jam-packed with features, and separate a little time to make a re-hash of a multiplayer map, zombify it with the basics like perk machines, PaP, box, boss rounds and a wonderweapon and/or traps, like they did with the classic maps, even if it had no link to the story and is purely just for the gameplay. Maybe even chip off a bit of time spent on the various multiplayer maps and use that time to make these back-to-basics survival maps - what with them being pretty basic and basically half-built already, it's not going to take them months on end at this point. After all, Zombies mode is a huge selling point of their games and if they did this then they might draw back some of the veteran players who gave up on the game mode because they preferred the simplicity and survival element. I too am a fan of the simplicity btw. I hated Black Ops 2. I got into zombies playing Black Ops 1 and I fell in love with it and also played W@W a lot. I consider Moon to be the holy grail of striking a balance between simplicity and having several features to keep things interesting. Hell, some of the guys here like Superhands back in those days even found ways to take features that were supposed to be a pain in the backside and use them to their advantage; you can't do that so much these days. I HATED SoE but I'm enjoying Eisendrache tbh, takes a while to get set up if you wanna go for the high rounds but then that's what I've come to expect these days, it's not hard to get set up, just takes time and the result is well worth it. Like the feel of the map overall. I'll always have a place in my heart for Black Ops though, such good memories of fun times with my boys playing all those maps and all the feels when I reached certain rounds for the first time in solo play.
  21. Hi guys, been long overdue since I signed up. Been playing since Black Ops 1 and been a long time lurker on these forums, so naturally I've seen many faces come and go and the way we play the game and view the story turned on its head by certain individuals as time has gone by. I always came to this forum as a beginner/intermediate player to browse the strategy sections and see what was new, and there was always something new! I've always been more into the gameplay side of things. As a beginner, several of the guys here past and present really inspired me and taught me a lot. Be it @Chopper, who I still consider to be one of the best "move and shakers" of all time and I mimicked to become a better player - I was always in awe at his gameplay videos; @Superhands, who went out as a villain but did more for this community than most people will ever realise, was always at the front line of the latest innovations and pathed the way for the modern top players and "find the fastest high round strategies" attitude to zombies, all the while still catering for the rank beginners like me at the time; @5and5, who was one of the fastest improving players at the time and picked up where Superhands left off and become one of the best strategists around, always innovative and came up with fun experimental strategies; @Ehjookayted, who was a great player in his own right and really was the glue of the CoDZ strategy community; and @Tom852, who put out loads of little tricks and tips that really helped make the game easier. As you can probably tell by my favourite members above I didn't play Black Ops 2 very much, but the third installment in the series has really taken my interest and, while I wasn't a fan of Shadows, I of course loved the Der Reise remake and Der Eisendrache is one of the best zombies maps in a long time IMO. Thanks for reading, hope to be seeing you all around the forums!
