  1. I think we can all agree that if Flopper is back, that it will be a completely different perk. PHD 2.0 seems more likely then them giving us the dolphin dive ability through the perk imo. The fall and explosive damage, with maybe an increased explosive damage radius, or as PHD Slider as mocking suggests. I hope it's back, they know we want it, they gave it to us in Origins, so hopefully with SOE taking a lot of inspiration from MOTD, and Origins, it is back in some form. I would even enjoy the PHD perma crap thing from Buried.
  2. Oh man I know tell me about it. I'd prefer not to use the staffs at all, personally. I don't need them, but if we're going to take 40 minutes for someone to build a staff anyways, I might as well do the same. Every game plays out the same in Origins. Somebody who has no idea how to use a staff properly gets it, and dies with it. Zombies with randoms can be summed up by Bon Jovi's Wanted.
  3. It's not necessary in a solo game to build the staffs, in fact I prefer not to so I don't have to complete the whole EE to get the walls back up. But in any non solo Origins game, not building the staffs is not an option. It's the literal first thing anyone ever says when they enter the lobby, "I call the ___ staff". In MOTD, it's again a good system with being able to hold all the parts. Then you get into the retriever, and eventually the Redeemer. It's not the old way where you hit the box, get some luck and you have the best weapons. There is all the extra steps in BO2, that aren't hard, just tedious. Spork, 2nd Blunder, AcidGat, Sliquifier, Jet Gun, Punch, Strike Beacons, Staffs. Hell even the Tranzit Galvaknuckles took a part to get too, which just adds to the point that setting up in BO2 just took way too long. It would be alright if the best weapons were box weapons, and the best melee weapons were wall buys, and if you want the shield, tramp, etc go and build it as a side objective. But choosing between getting the best weapon, or saving time, is not much of a choice. It's OP vs. UP.
  4. It shouldn't ever take an hour for someone to start to enjoy the map is the problem. If the buildables weren't so scattered, and you were able to hold all the parts at one time, it wouldn't be such a problem. It's OP (buildables) vs. UP (no buildables). It's not very much fun to basically complete the entire EE every signle game, and needing to do it if you want to play anything other than solo. I liked Origins style much better, with being able to hold all the parts, but it was too in your face with the staffs, punch, and beacons. Let the buildables be optional, not necessary.
  5. I never really liked the buildables in BO2. I always found them way too OP, so I tried to stay away from them. In certain maps, they became the centre of the show, which made you under powered if you didn't use them. I didn't like defacto being forced to play a certain way. The rocket shield looks more OP, not less. Hopefully there is less emphasis on them going forward.
  6. Oh yeah, we're still almost 5 months out from release. There is no way they don't have at least one more bomb to drop. Hopefully it's a big one, and it is either an awesome new mode, or new a map (s).
  7. Completely agree DBZ, an xp system is a great opportunity. If you just spent an hour and a half playing one game, where your team got to 25, you won't want to lose all of the xp you earned in that time. Just make it so that all xp is given at the end of the game, and you gain absolutely nothing if you leave. Another way to do it is just to take away a set amount of xp from anyone who leaves a game. BO2 was quite annoying only because the rounds stopped counting, so if they went to BO1's system I wouldn't even mind.
  8. Could be maps they are planning to remake. Would seem a bit weird to be going back to those particular maps before older ones, but there's no rule that they have to follow the timeline exactly I guess.
  9. No it was aimed at Clay's comment about my posts always being wrong, when I can provude a source that a quick google search would have helped him out with. I'm not going to lay back and let someone call me an idiot when THEY ARE WRONG, not me. Nothing against you DBZ, I always liked your posts on the Acti forums during the early BO2 days. As for Sony, it's their numbers bro. They didn't say how they came to it, I just backed up my statement with their statement. I can just assume they got it from the new accounts made. Not a perfect science, but it shows some serious migration regardless. Edit: and it's not a console war thing, it's a hey this is good for the COD community thing. Less people waiting for dlc is a good thing, not a bad thing. Personally, it's a good thing as well, although I never really minded the wait as I am not into the EE stuff you all are. I just want to slay zombies.
  10. I got one from EB's website. I went in store, and found out it was online only, so I wasted about an hour doing so, but I still had mine at about 6 ET. I should be fine I would hope.
  11. And how exactly would they know this? These type of statistics are based on Sony asking maybe 100 people who were purchasing a PS4 if they ever previously owned a PS3 and base it on that. They don't take into account that some of these people asked are children buying their first ever console and not that they switched sides. They do not reflect the numbers they claim to. Not even close. His posts have at least been consistent in their lack of validity. I do have an honest question though for any PS4 owners. Is there any specific reason you chose a PS4 over an xbox one other than just console loyalty? maybe someone who bought one that previously only owned an xbox? They seem identical to me. except for the controller and the interfaces. sorry, you're right it is 40% not 50%, that was a typo. Small keys on my phone. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/06/17/sony-remasters-serve-the-40-percent-of-ps4-owners-that-didn_2700_t-own-a-playstation-3.aspx?utm_content=bufferd2d5e&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer As for the other part: Perhaps Microsoft realized CoD was finding more of a home on Sony's console. Reports last year indicated that of the 11.44 million units 2014's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sold in its first month at retail, 4.01 million went to PS4 players, and only 2.61 million to Xbox One owners. http://www.theverge.com/2015/6/16/8788343/playstation-call-of-duty-dlc-exclusive-from-microsoft-e3-2015 A quick google search is often times your friend. Americans are often too America centric to have a rationale discussion with I find. Hiw would they know these numbers you might ask? I would assume it's a collection of data from all of the new psn accounts made since PS4 launched. Seems like easy data for them to get.
  12. well it was apparently not an option. Sure in a perfect world it would have been at the same time for all of these years.
  13. There's that America centric view again. The install base difference in the US is less than a million, but worldwide excluding the US it is bordering on 3x. So the preorders being 100k apart 7 months out from release, only in the US is no indication of how much of the community is on one console or the other. The previous COD's have sold more on the 4, than the 1, and that was without marketing. Couple that with Sony saying over 50% of current PS4 owners did not own a PS3, and you have quite the migration. The only good thing about this deal remains that if it had to be exclusive to one or the other, at least less people get screwed over.
  14. It could be that the swords we saw were basic and upgraded versions. It's either that or they are like the staffs with multiple versions of them. Either way, looking forward to using them.
  15. A lot shorter than what I thought it'd be :/ I was hoping it'd at least be 7 days, possibly even 2 weeks.Xbox will probably get the beta from the 23rd to the 27th then. Why would you want it to be two weeks? pretty sure he means that he wants the beta to be 2 weeks, not the exclusivity period.
  16. I mentioned this months ago about one of the interviews when the game was first revealed, but one of the Treyarch guys was wearing a shirt and it had flopper on it. Pretty sure it was Vahn, and he had the epic six pack shirt on. Sorry it was Lamia not Vahn, and I found the video, but can't post because i'm on mobile.
  17. Tying progression to a slot machine isn't a good thing imo. There's a lot of things to do early on, and not many points to do it with. If Jugg returns as a gumball machine, the timing of the Jugg fridge is kind of brilliant.
  18. Looked absolutely amazing. I said it in another thread, but I would assume the tentacle monster is a power up that has something to do with the EE. Absolutely amazing atmosphere. A little disapointed the buildables are back, hopefully they'll be used sparingly. The gumballs are an awesome idea, although hopefully it isn't just a random perk machine, and we still have jugg/speed/quick revive/etc still available. I saw at least one new perk in there, with two people on it (the first purple one). I actually wonder if we won't have our normal perk a cola's and gumballs as two seperate perk lines. The knife's are either crazy OP, and have at least three different abilities, or they are similar to the staffs in Origins. Hoping for the latter on that one. I would hope that three headed creature is like a Panzer round. To me looked like a lot of Origins, and MOTD inspiration in this map, which is great, as they're my two favourite BO2 maps. So excited is it November yet?
  19. So I got my order in for the Jugg edition, 293 bucks CDN. It's messed up, because I already bought the digital game + season pass the day it became available, bringing my BO3 total to 408 dollars spent. I was joking when Ibsaid I would spend 500 on zombies, but maybe I wasn't lol. Just waiting for a special edition ps4 now, to really drain me. If that happens, my total will be near 1k lol. Edit: I actually really liked the reveal video. I hope the gumball machine isn't the only way to get perks, but is more of a reimagined mystery perk machine. I like reliable machines, rather than a mystery. I kind of assume when you turn in to the giant tentacle monster it is a Death Machine like pick up, or it's the new zombie blood. Likely something to do with the EE imo.
  20. Two things, the "Giant" map is a season pass bonus right? And second I need that fridge in my life. When do we think the preorder will go live?
  21. Except when you pull out OpTiC alone you're talking about hundreds of thousands of viewers.... Sets the stage for another team to get those viewers. Is Optic popular because of them, or because of COD. We will find out if they back up their claims. Maybe getting a new job will make Optic realise what they had.
  22. lol losing one mlg team mean nothing at the end of the day. You like making money playing video games? Adapt or get a different job. It's evolution, video games style. Remember that MW2 pc boycott? How did that work out lmfao. The only people that are upset, are those that assumed. There is no substitute for 3arc zombies, so everyone that likes zombies is still going to buy the game. Faux outrage all over the place.
  23. So I guess all the youtubers will be forced to switch now. Everyone wants content today, not at a later date. Hopefully Xbox keeps the filthy glitcher community, so the first bit isn't spoiled by so many glitches. There was no info on the MLG scene, so I wonder how the change will effect that. 3arc is always pretty supportive of the esports scene, so I can't imagine not having tournaments. Maybe it's a part of the marketing deal? ^Reading the signs, the writing was on the wall. Too many coincidences, for there to be nothing there. It's a good change for the majority of COD players. If it had to be one or the other, at least the majority of the fanbase benefits. Edit: Also Voyager, and anyone else that may be looking for a PS4. Sony, historically drops the price of their console around this time. A lot of speculation that it will be at Paris games week, so they can snowball the pricecut in to the holidays. Also, there might be a Call of Duty PS4, if you're interested in such a thing. Just thought I would mention it.
  24. You lose credibility when you start going crazy over something that has not been confirmed. Getting Hyped after something if Officially confirmed is ok. There is a big difference You lose credibility when you try to deny something that is confirmed. I need to call Bill Nye lol. I didn't even celebrate, it doesn't mean much to me. But it is 100% a fact that PS4 is getting early dlc, and early beta access. We don't have a time table for either, based on past precedence, we can assume that dlc will be a month, but the beta is likely a day or two like Destiny (I think it was 2 days). Actually relatively excited for the beta. The multi looks very similar to a smooth Destiny pvp, with wall running. Considering my Destiny addiction, a smoother transition between jumps and shooting will be very welcomed news. The wall running snipe, was also very encouraging, because it means when you aim you dont just fall off the wall, like I anticipated. Bo new zombies stuff. Maybe tomorrow? Likely not, but one can hope. With all of the things happening this e3, and 3arc going down a different path than usual, I won't be surprised either way.
  25. It is confirmed, there's literally nothing left to say. It's been said multiple times now. The early beta access, early dlc, are confirmed. There's no losing credibility, when millions of people saw/heard it happen.
