  1. Not to be a hater, but given how poorly made this game is (bugs and continuous errors), and given Treyarch's track record. Tbh, it's probably a bug. Not hating, just facing the reality of Treyarch's ways... You try making an entire immersive level in two months. They have fewer bugs than many other AAA titles. That's really sad for the industry, how do they get away with making such poo?/rhetorical. I have played and enjoyed the zombies and mp, i didn't mean to be mean, i was just saying that given the plethora of bugs in this game (and the equally buggy predecessor), the Semtex thing seems unintentional. If it was all explosives, i would get more of a purposeful feel from it. But maybe that's just me. Happy gaming!
  2. Finally played campaign some. The story and cutscenes are amazing. The actual player gameplay is atrocious. I expected bad controls, but it was more awful than expected. So bad. So bad. Good story telling though.

  4. Thanks for the excellent input. Generally, i type for those who aren't making the 50+ rounds and could use help. Whereas i appreciate the input from those who do go 50+. Happy gaming!
  5. Avoid-a-nuke. I would say that i hate the nuke in early rounds, but hate is such an understatement. How to (hopefully) avoid early nukes: say it is round 3. Stab your zombie pal twice, then run up to him and hit stab as you pull backwards. This gives you an excellent chance of avoiding that awful drop when you certainly would suffer from getting it. In waw and Bleak Ops, you could ads and stab while pulling back and that would avoid it. But this game is buggy and you can not stab while ads in this one (but an fyi to any playing the older maps). Note that it is often a runner or a zombie that takes way too much damage that is carrying the bomb, as if we are being trolled by Trollarch (because we are). So be careful. This is obviously an extremely buggy, badly programmed game. (yes this is a shameless bump for teh knowledge of the thread). :)
  6. I feel this falls into 'it depends on the situation' area. In mp training, it is often counter-productive. If you're holding an area together (camping or some group objective like upgrading brofists/filling chests) it just adds time and a breather to the game. After you throw a mb/beacon, everyone can calmly reload and make dent in the crowd at the same time. Of course round, skill of players, familiarity with each others play, current situation, all affect the play so it again comes to 'depends on the situation'.

    Traps

I just wanted to touch on another psychological aspect: Campers and camos. One important aspect of camping its getting customers; if nobody wants to revenge on you, then you will get lonely. In my experience, generating camper hate to get more customers is as simple as your camo. Gold on your shield works wonders: they know that you are good at using your shield so you need to die now. A few camos work, but in my experience, nothing generates repeat customers like a man (or woman, hi ladies) with a matching purple leopard-skin-print shield and lmg. (for the record, I'm an r+g player. That's my normal modus operandi. But i will shield camp, snipe, patrol an area, whatever because it its a game and i intend to have fun while beyond angry as heck at this miserable [read: fun] game).
  8. Well, i liked it a little better than you, but your points are valid. I feel it should have actually looked like one of the existing camos. As is, it is okay. Better than some, worse than others. Seriously, only the dragon camo and bacon really look like they were designed. The others are just like a random computer generated background like a wallpaper for your phone.
  9. This one is a touchy subject. I used to play that way but stopped when it resulted in death several times due to having to wait on people reloading and tossing out there Monkey Bombs etc, so now I just call out Max Ammo and if time permits, I leave it, but if I am at risk, it get's grabbed straight away. I have also got in to serious verbal arguments with idiots who start screaming that they lost out on 30-100 bullets because I did not give them time to reload, despite the fact that they STILL got shit load of ammo for free regardless. So... this is not an unwritten rule in zombies. It is just a kind gesture if it proves possible to hold off while team mates reload, but not worth dying for. I second this. Thou shall attempt to communicate the presence of max ammos with as much time as one can safely allow before it is consumed in a holy manner.
  10. Before at least round 10, the nuke is unclean and should not be partaken of unless thine situation is dire or the round endeth.
  11. If you're in a designated position, communicate with the team if you must (or just stupidly) leave your position. It it's round 20, sorry there had been no action at your window for 5 whole seconds, please don't wander off without communicating this fact. "hmmm, no zombies at my window, o guess I'll wander over to somebody else's window..." (team gets swarmed from behind). Hey, maybe you just need to run for ammo or something important and hopefully quick. Well, the rest of us would still love to know. Oh, you got bored, do ran off to lone-wolf? Please communicate this fact as we have very limited senses in cod.
  12. Thou shall not reneg(?sp) on promises. People often agree to play a certain way, knowing that they ate lying to you. Like: Der Riese: gonna camp the flytrap hall. Everybody want to do this (explanations and agreements follow)? Then some randy bk opens the door to the trench gun side like a total ass-hat. Why lie?

    Traps

And...psychological traps: did he see me? No! (runs after 83457 into trap). Between lag and human stupidity, one never knows if that other player that you saw saw you. This makes for psychological traps. I run across an open area, see someone, but act like i did not. Run in building, drop c4, wait seconds, trigger c4 for the kill. Run past a van, drop c4, keep on into building, wait 2 seconds, trigger c4. Claymore's work too. Drop a Claymore for your tail. Or, simply turn and face the door at an angle and force feed them some digital lead when they come in to visit. You see via sensor grenade or uav/vsat (edit:not vtol) that enemies are coming. Face that door, lie behind something, pop up when appropriate for the surprise factor. Pick-up truck backs are great for this. Nothing quite as fun as watching the enemy walk right past you and then doing a back attack for multiple kills. Cold-blooded and dark corners/tall grass make for some great cod db-ery. Great for B.K. use (the knife, not bad kids or burger king). With smoke and db/mms/tf sights: run through open area to attract tails, after going through a door or choke point (30-50 feet), turn, throw smoke, prone and watch smoke area with appropriate sight. Some people can't resist the urge to go in...and you're ready for them. In conclusion, if you use any of these against me successfully, g.f.y. (hey, this is cod, remember?)! Ha!ppy gaming! Heh.

    odd spots

Downhill: you can climb onto the house via the balcony. Mirage: if you start in the back, to your right is a wall with the round doorway, you can get up there and stand by the palm tree where you are not very visible, for sniping. Grind: on one side is bleachers, you can go up there and sit in a corner, fairly hidden. Frost: you can climb up from the frozen river to the middle road, via the boat. Takeoff (i call it Takeo fast-forward): at start, if you go directly to the center sculpture and climb the edge of it, you can usually pick up a couple of kills before they rout you. Especially on the dlc maps, it's hard to say what needs to be said or is it too obvious...

    Traps

Engineer trap: i almost forgot this part; so you set up for shield camping, set out your trophy system, dropped a lethal or two by the door(s), aim over your shield at the theoretical incoming enemy...emp goes off, c4 his you in the face, bam! You're an unhappy camper. So, what to do? 1. Change class, fight face to face like a man (or woman, as we have plenty of female players). 2. Leave, searching for greener pastures (greener players amirite?). 3. Trap that dirty anti-camper: set up your shield, trophy, Claymore...and then watch from nearby. That guy is gonna sneak up where he thinks you won't see him, but you will see him, for you have fooled him with your toys and now his life is yours for the taking! Have fun!

Good points. On raid, you can climb in the front of any of the little rooms. If you start on the non-garage side, you can throw smoke from start right into the cent of the map, giving you more flank time (and usually first blood if you slip on the side from the stairs with the sculpture in them). Dig: if you start on the bottom half of map from the pause screen. Make like you are going to climb up the center, but instead, look for the small green box where you would climb up (its on the stuff you climb, to the right a little). You can stand on that and still see over the middle, where usually an enemy climbs up at start, but you are still mostly hidden from sight.

    Traps

For whatever reason i got the free elite. I watched their videos to make you a better cod player and, frankly, they were noobtoriously awful videos. My first cod videos, not pro videos. The one on traps listed things like 'put a Claymore by a door' or 'throw a bb by an objective for more kills'. Wow, just wow. So, now that I'm done mocking, here's slightly better trap info: Shock charges! And? Claymore/bb/c4; shock charge slows them long enough for the bb or Claymore to get them, or it alerts you that someone is at your c4 trap, double tap X for profit. Claymore + shock may slow down engineer users enough. Bouncing Betty + shock = fire and forget trap. Shock + c4; this is my favorite. Tac mask users may give you some trouble, but that's the game. Listen for shock charge, double tap x. With all, placement is key. Example: c4/shock; place the shock charge a few feet before the c4, so by the time you respond to the shock-sound, they are in prime zone of death. Cars + ?: dropping a Claymore by a car, in a high traffic area is almost a guaranteed kill. You could use bb for this or even watch the area with a c4 at the ready (like the side of Magma, drop c4 on the green van and wait for someone to come up that side). Again, shock charges can help slow up the opponent or make their presence known. Hunter Killer + cars. See someone hiding by a car? Pull out your HK and let loose on them. That's a 100 point vehicle kill, rather than a 25 point HK kill. --- Bonus: trophy system fun - Not just for campers; Use engineer, as you go around the map, throw your Trophy near their stuff, it kills it, if your trophy survives, pick it up, it's like new. Not as strong in bulk as emp, won't get a kill like Black Hat might, but much more reusable for little things. If not much is on the screen, you can always throw them near any sniper/campers that you pass to help them live longer. Scavenger improves their use (and what's in perk 2 anyway?). Props to Sensor grenades: in tdm, these can swing the game if you get some practice with them. You can often cover half of a map, either telling you where enemies are or where they (probably) aren't. SG example: on Detour, i run left down the side way, i poke my head up the middle ramp and throw one down the middle of the map, usually giving us a couple-point head start because my team knows exactly where theirs is. Smoke: hides you from sight (very helpful escaping corners when shotgunning). Confuses enemies, annoying teammates, punishes idiotic teammates if needed. I love to smoke the center of Raid, flank and get multiple kills from people staring at it. Smoke + dual band/mms/target finder for the obvious reasons. Don't forget scavenger! Well, i can't think of anything else worth touching on. Activision, feel free to contact me for advice before you make anymore extreme noob 'pro' videos... Happy gaming all!

Aftermath: the parking garage side: on the left side of this end is a cop car. You can lay down behind it and see under it, the way the enemy team will come. From the firetruck there, you can peer between the cab and rear of the firetruck to view the sniper in the garage. You can view the 'Agora' library sniper window from the blue bus. By the parking garage, at street level is a little alcove that is easily overlooked (behind the bus stop thing) for camping. Carrier: you can climb on the burning plane in the middle. There is a path along the outside of the map under the bridge of the ship. There is a couple hidden spots by the undamaged jets. Drone: the one end has cliffs that snipers hang out on. Climb up the front of the cliffs to shoot them. There will always be traps on the path. On the side opposite the cliffs, you can climb that low wall, onto the higher wall, and jump/climb onto the heli pad. From the center, you can climb up the other side of the heli pad our up through the glass windows of the main building. Express: if you're along the active train line, you can climb those wedge-shaped things to get over the parked train. Meltdown: you can climb into either 'sniper building' through a side window/crates. Raid: besides the obvious stuff, you can climb up by the red sculpture... Turbine: lots of little stuff. But the only non-obvious bit to me; go to building 2 (right by the only standing turbine in the maps playing area), fall out of the front onto the rocks, go left to a sniper ledge. Yemen: reminiscent of mw2, this map you can climb everywhere over everything. The less obvious paths (to me): start on the 'produce' side. Walk left and down the steps (you can climb up and left into a window). Get there, but don't climb in the window. Instead turn around, jump on street light, turn 90° right, jump up to rocks, climb onto sniper patio of Fariha market. Now drop back down below. See the 3 boards that cover the crevasse? Go to them, get on the orange-y wood on their right (by the scaffolding). You can jump up and right on that scaffolding, or you can jump around the corner onto that scaffolding to get in that building there. I'll hit some dlc later. I pass on lots of obvious (to me) stuff, feel free to post more or comment/ask stuff. Happy gaming!

    odd spots

Cool, thanks il. Hydro: at either end of the middle area are bridges that people snipe off of. Each one has a van in front of it that you can climb to get up there. Cargo: at start of tdm, both teams will often have players that run to the campable building. If you approach the side without stairs, climb the fork-lift and into the window, usually taking the other side by surprise upstairs. Cove: this has been a much better, overlooked spot than it sounds when you read it: go to front of plane, climb up to window. If you position yourself right, it says 'hit A to climb' and you get above the cockpit. You can see over/behind the plane, across to the ledge, or suprise headshot people in the planes cockpit. You can lay in the boats... Mirage: spawn snipe; if you spawn on the side with the main entrance, run left, avoid the upstairs room, go around the building and aim up at the other sniper lofty as they won't be looking for you over there. This usually gets first blood. Sniper not required. Edit: maybe I'll solo some maps and point stuff out...
  20. Well, by 45 it is one of the only things that kill. Since I've only made it to 40 and quit, i have never really even hit the box in this game.
  21. Gotcha. I wasn't trying to be jerky, i was just unsure. It has a black label with some white lines. Ah. Yes, the lightning is only usable really until 40, so ice staff for sure if doing 70. I will refrain from adding to your post then until i give this thought. I definitely start different than you, but i won't opine in the best strategy...yet.
  22. Hi. As you all know this game is quite buggy. I try to figure out why, and what is glitched and what just seems glitched. Obviously there is an issue with undamaged zombies dying off frequently. Today it happened, but I'm wondering if there was a reason (usually theater shows that the game clearly glitched, brand-new fresh-popped zombies just drop dead with no reason as shown in theater as well as in the live game of course). Today my unwounded zombie fell dead, but just before that, the robot foot almost squished him. This led me to wonder if a near-miss of a robot foot does damage to the zombie, which would explain todays buggy behavior. The game is quite obviously still glitched regarding unwounded zombies dying off, but it would explain this particular incident. tl:dr version: do near-misses of robot feet damage the zombies?
  23. Hmm. I'm not sure what you are trying to get accomplished in this speed run. Just fastest to upgraded staff? I'll usually get all 4 by 10, but it is more time consuming. Lightning would probably be quicker and is more effective on early rounds without wasting charged shots as the ice staff single shots are fairly useless. So 1. What is your goal for this speed game? And 2. White disk? Whut? There are 5 disks, one for each color staff and a black label one. No white labels that I'm aware of, but maybe I'm missing something? It happens... :)
  24. I know that you have our money and this game is almost done, but could you please fix some of the glaring bugs in this game, especially in zombies. If you need a list of recurring bugs, i can get that for you. I love playing zombies, but it's getting to the point where i almost don't want to play because must games end as a direct result of game error. So it's not much fun. Please fix the unwounded zombies from dying off as this is still quite persistent and theater mode shows that it's clearly glitched out. Zombies walking through charged staff shots unharmed. The staves upgraded shots often either don't fire or simply fail to charge while holding the trigger. I love when i release the trigger and the charge keeps going until i hit and release the trigger again. If you hold the aim button and stab, now nothing happens. Mp: run and fire the ballistic knife, nothing happens. C4 magically disappears with no explanation, c4 fails to explode often. Glitching into/sticking to stuff in the map (zombies and mp). Too many to list right now, add you know, so please fix some more bugs before you forget this game. I have several friends with xboxs, plus i even just got a new one and we all experience the same things, so it is clearly an issue. Thanks for a fun game, but please make it last, not die due to bugs like bo1. Remember bo1, the most reviled cod ever? You have made up for that somewhat with bo2, please polish this game up a little.
  25. Good luck. Just fyi: you can't save piles for snow rounds, that does not work.
