  1. As I mentioned in another thread (titled "lesser of two evils") every character in zombies is evil in some way. Dempsey killed lots of people as a marine presumably. Takeo killed his family for their dishonor. Nikolai killed his wives. Richtofen was... well, you know. Maxis caused the earth to be destroyed. Samantha ravaged the earth with zombies. Even the TranZit crew have helped Richtofen / Maxis in all of their dirty deeds, albeit blindly. The MotD crew were, well, mobsters. They've all done some bad stuff. Does that make them bad people? not necessarily. They could make up for it if their efforts to repair the damage outweighs their own evils. But alas, no sin goes unpunished. Mob of the dead is proof of this. Let's look at Richtofen for example. In the Maxis ending he does get punished. But in his ending, he gets rewarded! The O4 all did bad things prior to the zombie apocalypse. maybe you could argue that their struggle to survive was their punishment. My point is, some punishment needs to be dished out. Richtofen? Maxis? Sam? They all did horrible shit. So here's my question: How should they be punished? Where should they end up in your opinion? I personally like what they did in buried's maxis ending, and hate what they did in the richtofen ending. I like the wheatley approach. I like that they took a similar approach with the maxis ending. Richtofen is still alive, but barely. On the other hand maxis ceases to exist in the R. ending, which is not a satisfying punishment at all. I've been talking too long. What are your thoughts? What do you think they've all got coming to them?
  2. Played WaW, didn't own it. Didn't really enjoy nacht, because I sucked. Round 7 champion. Didn't bother playing other maps. I got really into CoD with MW2, then black ops came out. At that point I was really good at FPS games in general so I played kino. Round 7 champion again. Didn't play for a few months. (didn't own black ops at that point) Watched a ton of Syndicate, learned entirely through observation. I was like Neo learning kung-fu. Went back to friend, asked to play kino. My first game I made it to 17 solo, which blew my friend away, because he was shit too. Bought the game myself, bought ascension and CotD (both out by the time I bought it) refined skill, became good as shit, became fanboy as shit. Come off-season, find out about a certain forum during pre-BOII hype. First thread I ever read? Shangri-La mars theory. Proceeds to scour forums until I know an embarassingly large amount about the zombies universe. Been here ever since, no regrets.
  3. They had bear traps in BOII campaign. I can legitimately see that being in zombies. A good tactical grenade would be vulture gas canisters. You can throw it and get several seconds of invisibility. It's more balanced than Vulture Aid which has infinite uses.
  4. The reason people act like that is because they don't feel ashamed about being an asshole to people that they aren't actually going to meet in person. They feel like there won't be any negative repercussions for them, which is mostly true. Obviously they wouldn't say "your mom was on my dick last night" if you beat them at a game of chess or something. It's basically cowardly bullshit. I respect that people sometimes need to vent. I get that. And I understand that they want to be able to vent without making people in their life hate them. So they think hey, I'll take out my anger on a random stranger who I know I will never meet instead of my friends, because that way I don't have to deal with them judging me. I get that. It's still bullshit though because they might be a stranger to you, but they are a real person with feelings and you're treating them like shit. The "golden rule" should apply to everyone you talk to, regardless of whether you know them personally. So be nice.
  5. Is all of this concept art made by you? this is really good stuff. I agree, pretty damn badass. There should be a special zombie with black boils all over it, and when you kill it it pops, and if its black blood gets on you, you have to find a cure or slowly die to the plague. Or you could get one of those bird gas masks.
  6. Well my thoughts were that there would indeed be wall guns, box, and perks. Actually hitting the box or buying a perk would be really difficult considering the continuous onslaught. Normal 4 v 4 grief rules. You are right they would have to get stronger at a much slower rate. Also @Stop mocking me0 A time based round system would work just as well I guess.
  7. Well yes, Maxis IS a cat. Obviously. @the_clay_bird I am conflicted, because some of the evidence is contradictory. Like, theoretically within the zombies universe a biodome with artificial gravity capable of supporting plant and human life is confirmed to exist, on the moon. But if that were on the mars containing shangri-la, why don't celestial bodies match what they would be on mars? By the way, who actually knows how celestial bodies would appear on mars? How small is the sun from mars / how many moons does mars have? One thing I thought was that if it is in a biodome, maybe the biodome is like a screen, and what you see from the inside looking out is not what is actually outside. That would account for the sky, but then why wouldn't it hide the mountains. That can't be it. But what if the mars mountains were moved to earth? let's say 935 wanted to hide their base. How better to do it than with the natural landscape? mountains are useful for obscuring view, which is why bases are often in mountain sides or valleys. But they built their base in an area with no nearby mountains. But hey, we have a teleporter! let's literally steal a mountain! but wait, won't someone notice? psh let's just steal one from mars.
  8. at first I was laughing, but that just made me mad by the end. Screw that guy for existing.
  9. What @the_clay_bird said. It sounds like a good idea for a game, but not this game. It is in too much conflict with fundamental cod zombies mechanics.
  10. I'm not really a fan of the contrapositive argument, because as long as something can't be disproven, it must be considered potentially possible. In general it's just a "keep an open mind" kind of thing, but we usually like proof around these parts. I wouldn't call anything proven about this theory. There is no proof. But there is evidence. There is a difference. It can't be proven or disproven without a doubt, but some evidence is there, so it's at this point it's just a matter of what we choose to believe. This reminds me of the Portal 2 Companion Cube theory. Anyone heard of it?
  11. I got into a good game of grief. Borough. The only people with mics were on the other team. One guy, a younger gentleman, maybe 13, was explaining the rank system calmly. Game starts, and I lead my team to a crushing victory. I'm a skull rank but I totally outplayed 2 shotguns and a knife. Anyway as soon as the game ends and goes back to the lobby the kid is screaming "YOU ARE ALL SO GAY I'M BETTER THAN YOU YOU'RE FUCKING BAD" and it wasn't even the worst that I've heard, but he seemed so chill before it took me by surprise. Another timr in search and destroy multiplayer on BOII we won 4 to 0. Another younger gentleman on the other team basically becomes the most stereotypical cod player of all time. He mentioned my homosexuality, my mother's sexual activities, My lack of skill at cod, his superiority, and to top it all off he had a 420 clan tag. He talks so much shit and the next game he rage quits. he said to one dude "1v1 me you're shit" so the guy decided to actually challenge him. I got some popcorn and asked to spectate. The kid who was talking trash actually did crush the other guy, but he chilled out when we invited him to the custom game. But before then he was the angriest cod player I've encountered.
  12. @the_clay_bird that's the nature of the beast i'm afraid. Nothing is proven. The entire zombies storyline is like a blank jigsaw puzzle with 1000 perfectly rectangular pieces. Obviously we have some corner pieces (a confirmed date here, a confirmed location there) but it's up to the community to arrange them how they see fit. And meanwhile Jimmy Z will occasionally point to another blank piece and say "hmm, where do you think that one goes?" as if implying that it has an actual correct location.
  13. This is my idea for a more fast + furious grief. Imagine a full 4 v 4 grief, but in no-man's land. No pause between rounds. Just infinitely spawning zombies with gradual increase in speed and health. People have wanted this as a stand-alone survival mode for a while, but I think it would be better for grief. It would require a lot of training skills and aggression because one wrong move could kill you, but also if you make the enemy slip up once it's GG. Thoughts? I don't mean literally in area 51, but in any small-ish area with the NML mechanics.
  14. Is Samantha an Electric Eel? edit: @Stop mocking me0
  15. I don't see why a biodome is so far fetched. If humans could build one on the moon and achieve the same results, you would think that the aliens responsible for the MPD could make a large transparent one. Plus that kind of biodome is usually self-sustaining. The plant life creates a cycle of O2 and CO2. Didn't you ever do that science experiment in elementary school where you put the plant in a 2-liter bottle and seal it? The plant stays alive on its own. The sciences involved are not complicated. The only difficulty in achieving it would be in constructing the dome itself, which as I said was done before. I'm not sure what to think about that water. And what's going on at the top left of the left page? You can see a black line coming out from the edge of the cliff disappearing on the edge of the page. That could be a "seam" in the biodome, like the hexagonal shapes that make up the moon biodome. One thing to note: there is a lot of water on the map. An active waterfall and slide, and hydroelectric wheels. That water we see on the page might be the beginning of the construction of an artificial waterfall. I'm not sure what the source of the water is or where it goes. It might work along the lines of a fountain, where the same water is re-pumped over and over. I don't necessarily believe that it is on mars, but I'd like to try and argue in that theory's favor. It would just be so cool if it was true.
  16. Couldn't the area just be enclosed in a transparent biodome of sorts? One Idea regarding the Time Bomb: So we know that the most common theory about why buried is buried involves the time bomb. The town was sent forward in time but didn't change its position in space. So tectonic plates shifted and the town appeared in the same location, which is now underground due to plate shifts. So let's apply that to shangri-la. The temple and jungle travel through time, but not space. The planets move around in space, and the location of an area on the surface of mars at the temple's time of arrival happens to perfectly coincide with the point in space from which the temple departed, which was formerly a location on the surface of the earth. Only problem with this that I see is that if this is true, buried would have probably ended up in space instead of underground on the same planet, when you take galactic motion into account. You know the animation when you activate the eclipse? the screen distortion is almost Identical to the time bomb's effect. just pointing that out.
  17. ??? I have never ever seen the box spawn in the starting room on moon. closest it spawns is in the power room, and that is 3 doors. Same with Kino, I've never seen it spawn in the starting room, same with COTD. so the "none" option you listed on those is not correct What Clay said. And it is: Nacht, Verrückt and Der Riese. Deutschland mode activated!
  18. The developers of AW only made the versions for next gen. They got a separate company to make the current gen ports. I doubt cod 2015 will be current gen at all.
  19. Day Dream Syndrome for me. a few others: This is in Zombies and MP. I can think really fast, like sherlock holmes. If I fire a burst of bullets I subconsciously count how many shots were fired in my head. In zombies this involves counting how many bullets I've fired so I know if I need to reload. In MP I can actually do it to tell when the ENEMY needs to reload, because I also memorized each gun's distinct sound. So basically any time i hear repetitive noises I count the repetitions in my head. When BOII first came out I would hear zombies sound effects in real life. Like the bus horn in the distance or moaning. I played it too damn much.
  20. I think it's also because the map layouts are more original in BOII. In BOI you could just look up and see its location. In BOII you are either in fog, in a separate skyscraper, completely inside, or completely under ground. Origins is the exception. I think they balance the difficulty of finding the box by making it easier to find early on but much harder once it moves.
  21. Yeah it is true that on most maps you can control when you get power-ups early on. If you keep your windows boarded the first 2 rounds, the first one on round three will drop a power-up. Assuming it is in the playable area of course. Unless I'm playing co-op or on a map without barricades early nukes aren't an issue.
  22. ^Sekhmet's Vigor? I know it's on a wonder weapon and you can't just PaP to get it, but we've had medic attachments before.
  23. For me it's always gameplay features. That includes weapons, traps, perks, etc. Also I like specific locations. That one's hard to explain. Like if I know it's an alcatraz map and they show bloody showers in the trailer I'm like "i want to go to there."
  24. There are actually underwater hotels. I don't know of one that is fully submerged but you can stay in individual rooms made of glass that are totally underwater. I think any kind of cave-y map is something we need. Sewers in a city map? fine. Catacombs? great. Mine shaft? fine. Those types of areas are the definition of claustrophobic. Shangri-la had it but it was all too well-lit.
