  1. Best Wonder Weapon. Period. The unlimited ammo is amazing yet the cooldown keeps it from being op (except for exploiting Vulture but I just don't do that). The effect it has is something that hasn't been seen in a Wonder Weapon in a long time, it kills stuff. The Sliquifer was decent but I had little use for it because I don't run circles, I camp. But the best part is the mobility. Perhaps it has to do with Buried's layout but flying around is far too useful and far too much fun. I love it.

Just trying to help spread the knowledge of Upgrades.
  3. When Samantha entered the Aether that is when Maxis is believed to be killed by Shuster and Groph, but I think that to save Maxis' life Sam sent him into some Aetheral realm like the on Gersch was trapped in. So Maxis never died, his AI was deleted by Richtofen in Moon but Maxis' soul lived on in technology and led the O4 to blow up the Earth to reach Argatha.
  4. Did some more testing. Indeed Perma-Jug still exists but it takes several solo downs now to get, instead of around 3 it takes around 15. I figured out how the Double Points Half Price is lost. It's lost if you get any points during a Double Points. I did extensive testing and can guarantee that it's lost from getting any points at all. So the idea I guess is to change the Double Points power-up to a Half Price power-up but if you ask me Double Points is way better. I can also confirm that getting a Random Perk Bottle with all perks is not how the one perk loss is acquired. It definitely exists, but there is some other way of getting it. Also I've seen some videos of a constant Double Points Upgrade, it's weird. Instead of giving 20 for hitting a zombie it gives 2 scores of 10 at once and seems to be lost very quickly. But I have no clue how to start getting it, everything I've seen seems completely random as to when you get it.
  5. I mostly agree, however I don't believe the missiles were meant to scare the populace into following his words. I'm pretty sure that the purpose of it was to open the rift and expose Argatha, but the calculations were off so the rift didn't fully open. Maxis had to get the N4 to completetly open it by giving him control of the Aether. Also I wouldn't say easily convinced since the characters choose either to side with Maxis or Richtofen.
  6. Updated I don't know if any of you remember but around the time of Die Rise I started a forum topic dedicated to discovering and finding full understanding of all of the Persistent Upgrades that were available at the time. It was a great success, we discovered the function, obtaining method, and losing method of most of them. And now I'm back to do it again with the new Buried Upgrades. I've already run a few tests, here are my findings. PHD - Obtained by taking a cumulative amount of falling damage. Gives immunity to self damage and allows you to flop from heights to cause an explosion and no fall damage from the flop. However does not protect from regular falls. Lost by taking falling damage without flopping and taking damage while in the air flopping. Box Upgrade - Obtained from taking multiple weapons from the box prior to round 10. I cannot confirm but from what I've seen and what everyone says, it seems to increase your chances of getting good weapons from the box. Lost at round 10. Half Price Double Points - Obtained by getting at least 3000-5000 points in a Double Points. During the next Double Points everything is half priced. Lost from getting any points during Double Points. Sniper Upgrade - Obtained by getting a few long rang kills with snipers. Every sniper kill (and PHD flop kill for some reason) is rewarded with 300 additional points. Lost by repeated missing or non-scoped shots. Not lost from refraining to use snipers. Props to bakernator for finding it. Explosive Upgrade - Obtained by getting a large number of explosive kills. Not sure what it does but I believe it may increase explosive damage. Lost by non explosive kills and possibly flopping. Pistol Double Points - Obtained with horrible pistol accuracy followed by a few pistol kills. Grants Double Points at all times with pistols. Lost by increased accuracy with pistols. Perk Loss Upgrade - Appears to have to do with getting 4 perks early in a game. Only lose one perk when getting downed, always takes Quick Revive first and then the last obtained perk. Unkown how it's lost. Some other interesting things I've noticed. The Perma-Jug takes around 15 downs to take effect instead of around 3 now. The PHD Upgrade does not take effect on Tranzit or Die Rise. You can't use it, get it, or lose it. It seems to be the only new upgrade like this. 7 new Upgrades? Are they crazy? How on Earth am I supposed to juggle all this? And who knows how many more were added, it gives me a headache thinking about it. If you find anything post it here.
  7. I find it a little strange that people are so quick to turn away this theory. I'll acknowledge it has some flaws but there were people screaming that Ascension take place after Moon and that Shangri-La takes place on Mars and some people to this day believe that crap. Hey remember when the map packs spelled FEAR and it meant absolutely nothing? I don't mean to bad talk anyone, I'm just saying that I see a real connection. There's no way that Brock and Gary are just some explorers who just happen to be looking for Argatha, that might be possible but that's not how story writing works. And it seems you all forget that the time when Gary and Brock are alive during the eclipse is in an unknown time in the past. I'm almost certain it happened after Maxis was teleported by Richtofen and before Shuster and Groph found him. During that time it wasn't known where Maxis was. Perhaps the teleportation caused Maxis to lose some of his memory and all he could remember was that he was searching for Argatha.
  8. It bothered me before and it still does now. I have a 3 man team and we do superb with just us, 30+ on Tranzit, 35+ on Die Rise, 42 on MotD, 44 on Buried, and yet none of these have been recorded. It really bothers me, and I refuse to go into a public match with a random. These new maps are so complex that complete coordination is required. I wish that if it was on Original difficulty it would count it damnit!
  9. I highly doubt it but there is a possibility. The game might take a behind the scenes record of you having done them when you activate them and follow into the next map, but I doubt it because then the achievement would require having all 4 dlcs which I don't believe they are allowed to do. That's probably why the payoff was in this map and why it resets everything, that way they can just make two continuations regardless of completion.
  10. I've gotten a green flash before if I get 10000 points during a double points, however it seems to have no effect. Perhaps it halves the price of things in subsequent double points, I know that whatever it is it's lost by not getting 10000 points in a double points. I need to look into this.
  11. You know this is the third installment of this story right?
  12. I understand what you mean. At first I was like "Permanent Quick Revive? What are they thinking?" But now after some time I've started to like them. They might be overpowering sometimes, but they are extremely rewarding and hard to maintain. They add an extra layer to the gameplay. If you stop a revive for even a moment you lose the Quick Revive, and I can't count how many times I almost died trying to find a zombie in a window to kill after getting a carpenter, and being a player who always aims for headshots I like getting rewarded for my skill. Should you really be proning after buying Double Tap when there are 3 ghosts coming toward you? No, but I still do it. Also I'm pretty sure the health boost was taken out. A lot of people are saying they can't get it anymore. But the box one is dumb in my opinion, all it does is help box whores be even more whory. I've also seen a new constant double points one, not sure how it's gotten but I think that's way too overpowered. As for this, I can't say whether it's real or not, but I think it's too good as well. Some upgrades I like but some are just too good.
  13. I can't believe this was never made before. I guess people were to caught in a big hub bub about easter eggs and what not. So I think now is as good a time as any. Who's your favorite character of the N4 and what are your opinions of them? For me it's Misty. I don't know what it is but I just like her. She's cool and confident, but not cocky like Tank, and not annoying like him. Martlon's cool, I love some of the stuff he says. "Ah, it touched me. Somebody grab some ointment!" may be one of my favorite quotes ever. Russman is alright but he doesn't have a lot of personality. He's just: Old Crazy Hobo. I like Samuel. At first he was meh but after awhile he grew on me. His fear of everything being a conspiracy against him is really funny to me (NHK) and his banter with Richtofen is really entertaining. What about you all?
  14. I can only see the last dlc being Zombies only. There's just too much to fit into one map. I could see them adding some new survival/grief/turned/new gametype maps or maybe bring back some old ones. But you know what? I'd much rather instead just get 3 new proper maps. 1 following Maxis. 1 following Richtofen. And 1 explaining how the O4 got into Argatha. Maxis claims opening the gate to Argatha will reunite him with his daughter. I want to see how she got there. Also both new continuations have to have involvement with the O4. What if there was a way to go back and forth. Like the maps start wherever they take place with the N4 but then there's some thing you can do that changes perspective and then you play as the O4 in Argatha. So you switch back and forth. For the story I would see Richtofen's being that now that all issues have been dealt with, all he needs to do now is close the rift. The story would be of the N4 working with the O4 to somehow remove Richtofen of his control of the Aether and trap him, possibly with Samuel sacrificing himself, in Argatha as the rift closes. For Maxis I want to see Argatha fusing with this dimension and Samantha as some crazy monster. Then the O4 and N4 work together to remove Maxis' control of the Aether and fix the world somehow while sparing Maxis and letting him be with Samantha. I see that as appropriate since Richtofen is crazy and just wants to see the world burn while Maxis just wants to be with Sam. He's not really evil, he's just willing to sacrifice anything to be with her. As for the maps themselves... Who knows. People always talk about Paris. I'd like to see that as the map for the O4 going to Argatha. They get teleported there by the teleporter on Moon or Area 51 and Samantha leads the guys on a quest to get to Argatha. As for the final map(s)... I want to see Der Reise, as it is now. The rubble where Der Reise once stood. With the big mainframe tower sticking out of a big pile of rubble and a few parts of the map where you're like, "Jug used to be here." Not fully destroyed, but some heavy damage. And exploration of way more of the facility, getting to see other test chambers where other Group 935 projects were worked on. That is the best way I can see them ending it.
  15. It seems to me like some Easter Egg esk stuff. Maybe but unlikely we'll see an O4 map on Area 51 with Samantha leading the others to Argatha. I really want to explore more of Area 51, that's like the ultimate Zombies location.
  16. Who said Shangri-La takes place during the 1990s? Sure maybe the present day does, but remember Brock is alive during the eclipse. Who knows when that takes place.
  17. So with the release of Buried I see now what I must have been blind to miss before. In Buried, once all the easter eggs are completed for Maxis and you activate the box he gains control of the Aether. Here's a video if you haven't seen it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI9R3yP_L0s In it Maxis talks about Argatha. Who else mentions Argatha? Brock from Shangri-La. Now think back to Moon. In the audio logs Richtofen is teleported to the moon and then where? Shangri-La. So when Richtofen teleports Maxis and Sam in Der Reise, Sam gets sent to Griffin Station and Maxis gets sent to what he describes as a "tunnel" when he's teleported to Griffin Station by Groph and Shuster. Also take into a account the near identical voices of the two and that Brock wasn't surprised when Zombies showed up in the audio logs. If you take all that into account I'd say it's safe to assume Maxis is Brock. Thoughts?
  18. I've read that if you have all 7 perks and get the perk bottle from the ghosts then it gives this effect in Co-op, if done in solo it makes you keep all perks except quick revive. I need to look into this myself though.
  19. To be fair, Richtofen being in full control and in Samuel's body, it makes sense that he's just messing around with things. Like "Oh, you know what would be fun? 4 Guns for all and endless fire shales." But Maxis isn't done, he has a goal to accomplish, he doesn't care for rewarding the players. They're gonna die anyway, or so he thinks. Still sucks though.
  20. I just watched a bunch of videos from different people. Only ones who had all 4 the same color and NAV cards for all maps were able to open it. Everything I've stated is based on things I've actually seen, no speculation.
  21. I remember getting so excited for competitive zombies. Getting to work with my buds to outlive the band of randoms we were matched with. I was excited. But then I, like I'm sure you all have, realized that Grief is awful for competitive gaming. It's super slow at the start, most people you're matched with are just jokingly bad, the maps are absurdly small, the list goes on. So I never really played it unless I just didn't feel like thinking while I played. It's decent for some light casual zombie killing but I still rarely play. However Buried is actually a genuinely fun experience. Not because it is actually competitive but because it is casual. It is actually decent sized, and the map layout is so brilliant that it flows well for just wandering aimlessly. This map is so much fun to just hop into a game and casually kill some zombies while 7 other people do the same. Having buildables available is also a huge plus by me. Hearing the Resonater firing from across the map just makes me go "Someone is probably having some good fun over there." Meanwhile there are trample steams all over the place making the map outrageously mobile. It's light and fun. I am happy to play a match or two while I wait for my friends to get online on it. I highly recommend giving it a good try.
  22. As far as I know, the cumulative easter eggs don't have any effects on gameplay.
  23. I'm just writing this to get all the information in one place for everyone to look at. Updated. As you've all noticed, Tranzit and Die Rise are glowing either blue or orange depending on the side. Obviously the color indicates which easter egg you have done, orange is Maxis, Blue is Richtofen. A lot of people have been confused as to why some map icons have a lightning looking effect while others are just glowing. The glow indicates the completion of the easter egg, the lightning bolts indicate having put the appropriate NAV card in the NAV table on that map. The lightning bolts will not appear if a NAV card is in the table but the easter egg is incomplete. In Buried, in the back of the court house on the first floor there is a dead end room with a box with a series of lights in a 3X4 grid and 3 light bulbs on top of the box. The lights indicate the players' easter egg completion. Each player is a row and the columns are the maps. The 3 light bulbs on top indicate the NAV cards. To open the box all 4 players need to have all of the easter eggs completed for the same side and have NAV cards appropriately inserted. So if you want Maxis then the entire grid needs to light up orange and the light bulbs all need to be lit and if you want Richtofen then all lights need to be blue and the light bulbs need to be lit. When either of those occur the box opens and has a large button. Pressing activates the cumulative easter egg. Here are Maxis end and Richtofen end videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI9R3yP_L0s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKDLIdC5xqM And now if I'll just throw my two cents in here about these two easter eggs. For Maxis I'm super intrigued. Maxis is now in control of the aether and he talks about opening the gate to reach Argatha and reunite with Samantha. I assume the gate is the Rift. During the Maxis Journal and a few of his quotes he talks about merging dimensions. I assume he is going to open the Rift completely and combine our dimension with the dimension of Argatha. How that reunites him with Sam I'm not sure. Is she in Argatha? How did she get there? As for gameplay effects, the only thing is that occasionally Richtofen will spawn as a normal zombie. Every time you kill him, he will guarantee a power-up drop. Richtofen's is slightly less interesting to me. He gains complete control of the aether. Whoopee. Now Maxis is gone, Samuel and Rich share a body, and I assume Richtofen closed the rift. Not much to say. However for gameplay, it gives a permanent mule kick that allows 4 guns and gives a permanent fire sale. However once you activate this cumulative easter egg, it resets all your easter egg progress when the game ends. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zHVMUjLQBM If you ask me, these two easter eggs are so vastly different that I don't think one more map could properly expand them. I think maybe, just maybe, the next dlc might have two zombies maps, one for each side. But that's more like a dream. What do you guys think?
  24. My friends and I call him Timothy, it just seems fitting.
  25. I don't believe this is real, it can't be real. It's too stupid and too good. I've used it and I still don't believe it exists. It's too damn stupid! A golden spork? Really? Really? I...I don't even. Still going to use it though.
