  1. Well the souls in MotD have electrical power. You use afterlife to control electrical devices. Maxis and gersch are probably just literally bodiless souls. They aren't "dead" but their bodies just aren't in our dimension anymore.
  2. This thread makes me happy. It's like an old CoDz thread. Vril, 115, aliens, and an argument. This shit is about to get real in a few months. Bear in mind that 115 "reanimates dead cells." I did a thread on zombie physiology a while ago (might revisit it soon) but I talk about none of the zombie's tissues or organ systems really work together the way a human's would. Their cells are "alive" but they as an organism are not. I hypothesized that the electrical properties of 115 allow the cells to work together like pseudo neurons. Maybe Vril does the same but to a much greater extent, to the point where all their cells and cell systems are restored to full use, and they are effectively "alive" again (hence the V-R11.) I want to see what you guys think about thw fact that souls exist in zombies. How does that relate to the resurrection process (vril or 115)?
  3. I would honestly be alright with not having a Co-op rank and only leveling up in Grief. It would make grief more popular and competetive. Apart from bonuses like extra damage, what would we need a rank system for in Co-op or solo? To show how good you are? I am not a fan of that mentality behind rank systems, especially when it's specific to the point of not accurately depicting skill. If they could just maje a really smooth functional grief rank I would be happy.
  4. We've never really seen what Vril as a substance / energy can do. It was supposedly in the V-R11, and produced by the Golden Rod. But honestly Vril could have just been the word ancient civilizations used to describe 115. They might be the same thing. With 115 negatives are obvious. Power your machines and enable teleportation and time travel, at the risk of zombie apocalypse. What negatives gave ever resulted from the use of Vril thus far? Alternately Vril could be a more stable Isotope of 115 with less obvious negative effects. Plus we already know 115 can be used for mind control. 3 easy steps. Expose corpses to 115. Find the MPD and become a God. Profit.
  5. The only teleporters we've seen that send you to a pre set location have a structure that "receives" you on the other side pre-built. Like on "five" and origins you only ever emerge from another portal. Then there are mainframes. Maybe where Gersch went wrong is that it's literally not possible to be sent to a specific location with a gersch device, because it's only an entrance without a preset exit. I can imagine theoretically that you could calibrate the Gersch device to a mainframe and then teleport to it at any moment from any location, which is still a portable teleporter. In fact that would be a sweet gameplay mechanic. Say there are like 5 mainframes around the map and you can link your gersch devices to it.
  6. Isn't that a dial on the front right? Also I went and looked at some videos and when the Gersch is used the dial is turned and button is pressed. Maybe the dial clicks or something when you turn it or the green lights go off to tell you stuff but I don't know how it works. Maybe the gersch device IS capable of setting an accurate destination, but the characters have no idea how to use it so they just turn knobs and shit randomly. I completely agree with this statement Even so I don't see how a single red knob would allow someone to punch in specific X Y Z coordinates. And i doubt they would make a prototype without that function. because who honestly thought "let's make a device that teleports you to a location. and the best part is YOU DON'T KNOW THE LOCATION!" Also we should note the whole "numbers" thing. The five teleporters have numbers coming out of them and the nacht portal (loading screen) does as well. None of the others do unless I'm mistaken.

  9. Plus just looking at the gersch device's hardware, it doesn't even appear to have any dials or screens on which you would be able to set a pre determined destination. So that has to be a prototype. The next (never built) version would have likely had more than just one big switch. We've never really seen how Richtofen enters coordinates / times into the teleporters (apart from mainframes), but we know that it's possible.
  10. Actually it isn't completely random. It is still a gateway of sorts. Think of the five / gersch teleporters like a hallway. There is a door leading in and a door leading out. The five teleporters are like a hallway full of many doors. There is still one way in and one way out, you just can't be sure which is which. Remember when you use a gersch device and teleport, you do come out of another inert black hole. The problem there is just that the door at the end of the hall isn't built until you're in the hallway itself, and you have no control over which room in the house it leads to. Like Hogwarts. Still. One way in. One way out. They both take place at the sane time. I think they are BOTH incomplete. ("Five" and Gersch devices.) I agree that gersch devices were just pocket teleporters that had not yet been perfected. Why it only attracts zombies is a mystery. Edit: and I think both were inspired by the origins portals, which the soviets and americans would have read about in recovered 935 documents.
  11. Not nearly as mad at people as I deserve to be. #JustClassyThings

      Stop Mocking Me0

No one deserves to be mad… But of course… We're all mad here….

  12. So ok, we have a few different variations of teleporters though. There is the 935 model teleporter, as seen on Kino and Der Riese. Then there's the "five" version. Then there's the Gersch device. Finally we've got the Origins version. I always imagined that the progression of their development went as follows: (pretend origins is relevant for a sec) So group 935 discovers the Origins portals, and studies them to come up with the basis for teleportation. They create a concept for a similar "gateway" style teleporter which ultimately gets scrapped. That scrapped model is seen in the Nscht Der Untoten loading screen. Then they take a new approach and make the Der Riese model. Anyway after the fall of the Nazis in WWII, the allies seize 935 documents. They decide to try to create their own teleporters, but instead base their prototypes off of the initial "gateway" style teleporters. That's why the teleporters in "five" behave more like the ones from Origins. The soviets made their own attempt at re-creating it, in the form of the Gersch Device. The Moon teleporter has a classic 935 model (obviously). Oh yeah, then there's the Denizens. That's probably because they are creatures mutated by 115, and the earth is enriched with it from the missiles.
  13. Look at this guy, it's Captain Knots, Captain-Tying-Knots. If anybody needs some knots tied, go to him. BULL SHIT.

  14. I know people hated ghosts, but I did love one thing from it. How about a rank / reward system based on the field orders brief case? make it a rare power-up that looks like a flaming scroll of parchment, and call it blood contract. It will give you a challenge to complete within X amount of time, or something like that. Examples could be "make no purchases for 5 rounds" or "get a kill-to-headshot ratio of greater than 0.5 for the next round." Completing them gives you XP, XP makes you level up. It could give you an in-game reward like a free 3000 points, but nothing outside of that single game.
  15. @BestOfAllTime32 you say many others would be pissed. Many people are ALWAYS pissed at call of duty, or any game for that matter. If you're a developer for a game in a series, you can do two things: Make the game have new original features or make the game more like the previous game. Whichever you choose to do, 50% of the community will hate you for it.
  16. I would agree with you on that, But it seems like they would inevitably make that kind of structure affect gameplay. Rolling ranks are like a stat tracker, but with a conventional rank system the whole point is to feel rewarded when you reach a milestone. If there aren't good enough rewards people will be pissed. I don't want gameplay rewards for rank and I don't want people being like "I'm max zombies prestige and all I got was an emblem, wah wah treyarch ruined my life."
  17. But seriously @superstudmuffin that was uncalled for. Keep it friendly. You can respectfully disagree with someone without starting a fight. Or I don't know, maybe you can't. @BestOfAllTime32 I see what you mean about those "bad games" people have. But consider the quote: "ameteurs practice until they can get it right. Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong." Maybe you shouldn't deserve max rank unless you don't have any bad games. Of course very few people never have a bad game, so that's unfair and disproportionate. But you get my point.
  18. How about Instead of a week cycle it's just your average from your past 10 games. That way even if your last game was a month ago, you would still have a good rank if you did well.
  19. How about the rank is structured like this: Ot all comes down to the average amount of XP you gained PER GAME, in the past week. Different tasks give you XP. 1 revive = 50. 1 kill = 2. Every 5 rounds = 10. Doors opened in Co-op correspond to price, max at about 25. If your average points per game in the past week is 100 or less you get bones. 100-250 is skull. 250-500 is knife. beyond is shotgun. Those are just random numbers, but yoi get my point? That would make it current, allow it to change more easily as your skill improves, and take into account your high round capabilities and kills, as well as team player ness.
  20. DId they call it a wonder weapon? Also I may have closure on Origins, but I don't' want to annoy anyone else with more advertising of it. FURTHERMORE: Next parties: Raygun… Or Raygun Mark 2? Personally, I like my mark two like I like my women: In my hands and firing green plasma at corpses as fast as it can. The mark one is pretty good with PHD flopper, and has a lot better amo, but it doesn't do nearly as much damage and will typically screw you over through 9/10ths of Black ops 2 which doesn't have a way to gain flopper. I did use a bunch of specific examples, but I didn't actually intend for people to answer them. I was more hoping for a general "I like new / old things." response. I think that question warrants its own thread anyway because it's so specific. Not that you shouldn't answer those questions to establish your stance, but if your entire response consists of a bulleted list you're doing it wrong. I feel like a highschool teacher.
  21. My question about wormholes though. Does the teleporter act like an artificial wormhole, or does it create a wormhole, or tap into an existing one? Also the concept of wormholes is connected to the Casimir effect. I kinda got the impression that Richtofen didn't understand this concept until ascension, although they time traveled twice already at that point. I think it's possible that they teleported to Kino and Ascension by accident, and then Richtofen used the knowledge he gained there to tap into a wormhole with the teleporter and use it to send him to a deliberate time / location. You can tell he's new at it because he sends them too far into the future in CotD.
  22. In real life cloning is creating a separate entity with identical DNA to an original organism. I was just pointing out that if the cloning theory is in play with teleporters (which it most likely is not) it would be possible for a copy to retain memories from the source. The worm's head was regrown on the same worm body, but regardless its entire nervous system was removed and replaced, which is effectively a cloning type of thing. Because, if you cut your arm off, that arm isn't you. So like when you get beheaded, you are actually getting "be-bodied." because who you are is your brain / nervous system. If you could recreate that, you effectively recreate the organism. But like I said zombies complicates it all with pseudo realistic science and the inclusion of souls and fantasy elements. So who knows.
  23. I probably should have remembered the law of conservation of matter. That was silly of me. Still, fun fact: A worm was beheaded, and scientists were able to grow it a new head with the same memories from its past head. Possibly relevant to the clone theory? Also thanks for the feedback.
