Administrators S.O.P.H.I.A. Posted December 29, 2013 Administrators Posted December 29, 2013 Call of Duty Mobile forum view, I'v still got the images to do for the mobile skin but that won't take long.
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 So basically, this is what everyone should be seeing with the mobile site view, it's supposed to replicate the main site view and accommodate touch devices. This was before forum images had all been transferred but to get a better understanding of what is wrong, what needs to be changed etc can we get some feedback here please. Is this what people are seeing, if not what do you see, screenshot with some feedback on them would be appreciated.
Delta Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 View from 5th gen iPod. I personally dislike. I can't see signatures, and the white is too much for my eyes.
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 OK, so it's not calling the Mobile skin that it should be calling - I thought I had seen this on a snapshot previously but it's not. The CoD Zombie forum and CoD zombie forum mobile skins are the only ones that are active, no other skin or CSS should be called. I need to delve into it a little deeper as obviously somethings not working the way it was intended to work. The only white that should exist is the text in the topics.
Rissole25 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I see the same as Delta just so you know. @Delta I think the no images/signature is meant to be like that. Right now the mobile view is pretty sleek and fast, because its mainly all text. Not sure if I would like it with all the Full Forum features.
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 Yeah the mobile skin doesn't call all the features and functions of the web version, it basically cut it right back and optimized it for mobiles and signatures, profile information is not necessarily required on a mobile device when just catching up with things.
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 I've made a quick change to one section of the CSS, any chance of clearing your mobile browser cache/history and reloading and taken a snapshot for me and let me know if you see any change.
Delta Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 New shot attached. Cleared all data, cache, history, and cookies.
Rissole25 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Delta are you uploading with the Full Forum? I'm trying on that but I don't think it worked (uploaded it and attached and all). But yeah, it still the same for me I believe.
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 I'm currently working on it, so bare with me for 10 minutes or so - mobile might get a little messy in the interim period.
Delta Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Yes, I do attach using the full forum view, and browse using the full forum view. New picture in case attachment didn't work:
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 Could you have a look now for me please? Some images will be missing for topic icons but I'm expecting that as none have been assigned yet.
Rissole25 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I can't see the option to change to Mobile View, but maybe I'm blind. It's not there anymore.
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 Do you have the option for us mobile version or change theme? select change theme if you do, you should have the option.
Delta Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Cleared everything again: Rissole, bottom left, see this pic.
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 Arghhh, my ipads just died lol
Rissole25 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I think it might be because I haven't cleared my cache but yeah.
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 I've found the problem, the IP.Board default mobile skin is being forced upon the mobile version and it's not accepting the call of duty zombies skin, it's being over ridden by the default skin. I don't know why this is the case but I'm working on it, it's possibly something stupid. Ok, I'm going to force the mobile devices to use the call of duty mobile (import) skin which I have just added. Now, I can pretty much gaurentee that it's going to default to the main site as it's designed to be used within the safari browser. It doesn't seem to register that it's a not a web based safari browser and then loads the main site theme. Selecting the use mobile version defaults to the standard IP.Board mobile them and doesn't select the call of duty theme However, choose the option manually choose and then select call of duty mobile (import) and screenshot for me please.
Delta Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Nice, man. Just wanted to thank you for your trouble and trying to help us mobile users have a better experience.
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 18, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 18, 2014 Nice, man. Just wanted to thank you for your trouble and trying to help us mobile users have a better experience. No worries, mobile users are just as important as web based users. If a problem exists (and it does) we need to rectify it.
Jbird Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I see a chat option on one of your photos. Is that coming to the site soon?
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 19, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 19, 2014 I'm afraid not, chat won't be coming to the forums. Is it possible for someone with a mobile with and without tapatalk installed access the site on the mobile device and post a screen shot please?
Delta Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Here you go. All on same device as before. Tapatalk: (freshly installed, no account even made.) Mobile browser view: Full site view:
Tech Admin Hells Warrrior Posted January 19, 2014 Tech Admin Posted January 19, 2014 Why is it not calling the default fecking skin, it should be calling the only active and only skin available - which is the one you see when you browse the site in full view and not mobile. Tapatalk should call the relevant information. Apart from the skinning issue, did it give you a welcome message saying this site supports tapatalk and how is the general usability in tapatalk?
Delta Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 No, none of that. It literally just threw me into the forum, which I'm pretty sure it took off my browsing history in safari. It's better than the mobile browser view, less eye-wrecking white, and I can see if someone is online or not, but still overall the same.
