  1. have you seen the owrld map? the entire planet is destroyed Yeah, it's destroyed. But obviously the places where the rockets hit are a lot more damaged. We know that one rocket landed in Nuketown, USA. Hanford is not that far from Nevada. Maybe another rocket landed in China but in the west, that's why Shanghai is not as damaged as Washington. Chances are each rocket landed on another continent. Effectively the world would be heavily damaged, but of course certain areas may have been impacted more than others. Besides, as far as I'm aware, China was not performing any sort of experiments with 115, making it obsolete for Maxis to even launch one of the rockets there.
  2. I forgot to add the part that the MDT would most likely be destroyed in the nuclear blast but MDT's aren't the only way of time travel. We haven't seen other ways yet but Marlton doesn't seem to have any connection to group 935 who made the MDTs. I know that there is an MDT in no man's land which is in area 51 which is in america so americans would need to make it but if the real life rumours about area 51 are true then the stuff in there doesn't need to be in the U.S.A. Go back and look at the Der Riese radio transcripts: Maxis states that 115 was present at the Nevada Base (Area 51), so it explains how a Group 935-looking MDT was built there. Also, if we haven't found "other" ways of time-traveling in Zombies, what makes you think there are other ways at all?
  3. I've noticed this as well. It's most likely because Die Rise was not a target of one of the rockets, which explains why it was not as heavily damaged as Green Run in Hanford. But those strange rectangles are definitely something...
  4. Agreed: people are taking this sneak peek a little too far! I'm almost positive a trailer showcasing Rise will be out next week, I mean, Treyarch does love Trailer Tuesdays! And I say again: I'm still hope-in for a watch it Wednesday, and a tricked ya Thursday, and a "forgot this " Friday, Sorry bout that Saturday, Special sunday, or a matinee Monday.... Sadly Treyarch usually refrains from launching any kind of advertising campaign on the weekend, and since we have MLK day on Monday, I assume we'll be getting our trailer the 22nd.
  5. Treyarch and their Trailer Tuesdays are like peanut butter and jelly, or Chris Brown and Rihann- scratch the last analogy :? But yeah, most likely Tuesday. I can't wait to clear the air with all this Marlton is Turned nonsense!
  6. My point exactly. Are we really going to formulate major story-impacting theories based on about 46 seconds of gameplay for this map? Seems absurd to me. If anything, Marlton is one of the most mysterious characters we've introduced in Black Ops II- and then what? Treyarch just throws away his entire backstory and connection to Zombies? Highly unlikely! We've got less than two weeks till the DLC arrives, and we'll likely be seeing a trailer sooner or later. The matter will be cleared up soon!
  7. I don't... It's complicated enough to have a 4player tranzit, due to the map being so huge... And 8 players will cause MAJOR problembs with connection... Good point. I still want the old four back, but I like this new four, and I don't mind if they stick around for the next DLC.
  8. :| I don't know....I'd have to say I think that Flamenwerfer's theory is the most accurate one I've read right now. Also, it should be noted the reason why Die Rise is to look like an MC Escher painting is because of the buildings seen in the trailer- there will be staircases upside down and sideways, sometimes even leading nowhere, much like one of Escher's famous paintings, not because of the Tower of Babel (although it is an interesting coincidence). Not trying to be rude, because there has been a lot of negativity on the forums lately and I hope it stops soon, but I think you should revisit your ideas. I'm almost positive our original four will return eventually, but I don't think anytime soon.
  9. I love the O4 and I truly hope they'll return, but it wouldn't really surprise me if Treyarch didn't bring them back anytime soon. Simply put, they're chapter in the Zombies timeline has been told- we have four brand new, mysterious, funny characters to play and discover their secrets and connection to the zombies plot. I'd hope we'd be seeing 8-player Tranzit in the final DLC with old and new characters joining forces to stop Richtofen. It would satisfy the community and provide a good ending with Black Ops II Zombies- killing two birds (or zombies) with one stone!
  10. Agreed: people are taking this sneak peek a little too far! I'm almost positive a trailer showcasing Rise will be out next week, I mean, Treyarch does love Trailer Tuesdays!
  11. Wouldn't the visible entrance be where we exit the power area? Actually, I just noticed today that it appears there was once a wall there that sealed off that entrance, basically making the entire facility locked underground. My guess is that a huge underground lab is located beneath Green Run, but obviously inaccessible due to gameplay purposes.
  12. Jimmy will never, NEVER tell us the secrets of Zombies, though I'm sure you're not the first to try and force it out of him. Try someone like Reza- he was the first to actually give us a solid "Yes" on Tranzit's EE continuation.
  13. Seems like everyone is thinking what I'm thinking. Flopper would be a great treat to return in Die Rise, but it would take the "rise" out of Die Rise- it's the first map with vertical elements, and to stick PhD in there would take out the "die" in Die Rise as well! But in all seriousness, I think Flopper should wait- maybe Treyarch should hold off on it till DLC 3 perhaps? Instead, how would everyone like a nice return of Mule Kick? :)
  14. While I agree everyone may have overreacted a bit about your thread, I think just for future reference maybe clean up your grammar; lots of people on the site get annoyed with this kind of stuff, and it was a bit confusing at some parts (nothing too unreadable, however). Overall you have great thoughts and I think you have a great point about the Zombies = Tuna analogy- it was both logical and a comical look at how Treyarch delivers our undead content. You're ideas are thoughtful and you have a lot to contribute- just make sure that when you contribute in the future, clear some things up. But I must say you made a successful thread IMO. :D
  15. I wouldn't even consider it a Wonder Weapon it all: it's basically just a crafted object from junk around Green Run. While I do agree that it is a very useful build and people initially had a negative response to it, I would rather it to not return in Die Rise or any future maps- I'd rather we get a "real" Wonder Weapon, one that uses 115 and can be retrieved from the Box. We've been promised Wonder Weaponry with Rise, although I'm afraid they're referring to Buildable wonder weaponry. :?

    Stu.

I think he's just crazy, considering he's a complete schizophrenic, plus he appears to be a masochist and a little sadistic. Also, I think it's playing on the fact that he is an stereotype for people who are overweight; there are several quotes where he often defends the fact that he is extremely hungry, and that he needs various foods when running low on ammo. BUT, his last name, Stuhlinger, is undoubtedly German. I remember someone on the forums said they found a scientist known as Ernest Stuhlinger who was recruited into Operation: Paperclip in the 1940s, so there may be some connection with Group 935 and Samuel's past...not to mention that he is the only one who can hear Richtofen, who is currently in the Aether. ;)
  17. Well...if Marlton were to time-travel back to Nuketown pre-nuclear fallout, an MDT would needed to be present in Nuketown allowing him to teleport there. And a large amount of Element 115 to overload the calibration and send him back or forward in time. I honestly think that people are looking into this too much. It's likely that at the time Treyarch was capturing footage for the trailer, there were only 3 developers playing. Also, keep in mind this was hardly a zombie trailer: it was only a teaser, merely a glimpse of what is to come in. I'm sure that we will get a full-length Die Rise trailer WITH Marlton in it soon. And in the Tranzit reveal trailer, Russman was hardly even shown! It's a good theory, but I'm pretty confident we'll be seeing our nerdy friend return in Die Rise. But if we don't, then I encourage you to pm me a gloating victory speech!
  18. Pretty good theory; I think the closest one we have to the Black Ops II timeline. Reading the replies, it seems people have started rethinking the dates of Moon, Nuketown, etc. My personal theory was the maps after CotD have taken place in the future, and that Green Run was, as you stated, simply a town that remained untouched in technological advancements. This would explain why Marlton knows so much about the 2025-era weaponry, and why the skyscrapers look so modern, as well as the hidden facilities beneath Green Run (which look very futuristic). I'm new to the forums, so I just thought I'd share my thoughts on the subject, because it's most definitely a topic worth interest. -Brett307
