  1. Storm Front: troll factor 8. Actionable item: elevator. In the larger building, memorial gardens library, near the sculpture is an elevator (not the large outside sculpture). Hit x to ride between floors. Edit: if you hit this while up top, and the doors are closed, the controls often disappear from your screen and the elevator doesn't come. Just a glitch, maybe patched already...i haven't checked lately. Starting at the elevator on the first floor. Walk out to the fountain sculpture look right (south). You can climb either green 'ramp' to get up to the sniper loft. If you go up the right side, there is a tiny window that you can squat and look through to snipe folk in the outside sculpture area. Just above that is a connecting ledge to the upper elevator area that you can walk across. You can also climb up next to the elevator, right next to it. Coming out of the elevator upstairs: look left (south) go to the greenish windows, you can break them and use the outside sculpture as a ramp, up or down. Turn 180°, head north. Here you will see two areas of lush growth. Either of these can be used to hide for killstreak use or to wait for prey to come past. Just behind this area are desks that you can climb on to watch out the windows above the greenery. Turn left (west) and head to the northernmost of the two stairs entering this area. You should be looking over a tiered area, raining and lush. Look left (south), climb the stair rail, climb the ledge there with the grass growing on it. This is a fairly unknown spot, low to medium traffic. Note the hide spots under the stairs below you, cp's can be called in here. Look west, drop off ledge, go down the right side steps. Immediately on your right you can climb up from the bottom to the first tier from here. This is your safest avenue if coming through here from south to north. Look south, there is a ledge up there, i can not get to it, have never seen anyone on it, let me know if anyone can get to it. Head south until you exit this room, make a left (east) go until you get to the turquoise desk with stuff piled on it. To the left is a camp spot (in iw games, most camp spots have a mattress or sleeping bag, for visual clues). Head south one room, face east so that you see the outside sculpture. Go outside, to your left, in the corner is a camp spot with low walls and high grass. To your right is a small square area with grass to note. Head east past the sculpture until you get to the two palm trees. Climb up by them by the steps, get near the building, climb up to green sniper loft (you need to break the window if it isn't already). Go down the green ramp and make a right (east) out onto the white bridge. You can camp the bridge, the debris on the bridge, the stairs on the east end. North of the bridge is open space for calling in cp's. You could camp the back corner, the north east steps have a little hiding spot next to them for when using player controlled killstreaks. Edit: At the eastern end of the bridge, get on the southern wall. You can jump onto the eastern wall of the map, just south of the bridge, by jumping to the blue panel. You can make your way along that ledge almost to the blue trailer. Head south away from the bridge. Note the blue trailer on your left. This is good for start-of-game across the map snipes. You should now see the 'Hill Square Superty Union' sign. You can climb it above the N, no real tactical purpose. You can jump to a thin ledge above the door. Note that way above you is a Superty Union sign up on the building with a bear in the O. Slightly west you will find a white fema truck. Climb it, get on glass awning, jump to next glass awning, go in building by bar. Note that behind the bar is a snipe spot. Pass the bar, make two lefts and go down so you are in the large foyer room behind the 'Superty Union' sign. I just want to say that the area behind the counter, by the computer can snipe across to the other side of the map. Once here, all of your teammates will load at your feet and have trouble getting past you if you lay there (funny, almost seems glitched how every one loads there if you are there). Head south, back up the steps, turn right (west) and go through the restaurant/bar (stay left through the seating area). Once past the blue fema boxes with the sleeping bag, make a right. Go right onto the terrace with a table and 3 chairs. Climb the blue box to get in the sniper loft above (this avenue will sometimes take the enemy by surprise). Head west down the white hall. Just before you get outside, there are sniping windows on your right that are rarely used, but effective. Go outside (west) turn left (south) you are at a curved balcony. You can climb up here from below, from the grassy corner to your left. In this area, you can climb the truck, hide in lush greenery, hide under the truck, call in cp's. At start, this is a spawn area near the truck front. Stay along the left (western) wall, go up the small steps and start to kill the opposite team way off to your right (east), who will be trying to kill you. I think i got most everything of note here.
  2. I'm just gonna say this: please add a 'free mode', where you just play. No time limits, no score to achieve. Play until you want to leave. Run games on each map, give players a choice of what map they want to join. Even if, to conserve server space, they only ran like 6 maps at a time, change the maps weekly or something. Or run one map per day, maps change at a set time. Just thinking out loud...
  3. I don't have a lot of experience with the new game modes except for some Blitz. Pros: it is similar to tdm play, but the runners have a goal to achieve and the campers have a reason to camp. This works for the runners as they know around where the enemy team might be, no more flanking without finding events. The campers can camp the goal, patrol the area by their goal, or try to form a line across the map that the enemy team must get through. Cons: too few players in the mode lessen the chance of good connections. The first time that i played, in every game, the sound just went in and out. The goals have one set location on each side of the map. I wish they had made more variance, a few different goal spots for each map. Some are unbalanced. Though the sides switch, the first team to have the easier side might have too much score to beat in the second half. 20 point score would be better than the 16 point score for balancing this out (i have tried 'balances' versus bots and i think the game could use some tweeks. On search and rescue: i hate kill confirmed (kamp confirmed) passionately. That being said, it seems to be a huge hit with a large portion of the players, so i can see why they are trying other tweeks with the dog-tags in modes. If you like s&d and kill confirmed, i would suggest giving s&r a try.
  4. Whiteout: troll factor 11. Special care package: satellite fall. This drops satellite debris on the northwest woods. Edit: it will definitely kill anyone in the 50x10 foot swathe where it crashes. If you go near the remains, your mini map will be scrambled until you leave the area. Not very practical, but cool to get kills with, should you get lucky. It slightly changes the terrain. No actionable items that i know of, unless jumping into the heli blades of death counts. Here's some spots: Northwest corner, corner of Arctic lumber is spot on the rocks that keeps you out of sight, but overlooks that area. By the snowy trees. There is a ledge along here of little value. Just south of the lumber building is a ridge that faces, and sees into, the A frame house. Go to house. Standing on frozen lake, looking at house; to your right is a rock formation that allows you to jump on the top of the small tree next to the chimney. Yeah. Who cares? You can climb the rear of the house to climb into the upstairs window. You can look into/out of the downstairs/upstairs bathroom windows. This area is watched over from the south, be careful. Head East off of the back of the house, follow that path to 'town'. You come to the road, looking at the harbor master building with one lit window. To your left is a hummer (army vehicle). Climb it, jump on roof. This overlooks the area of the map that nobody ever plays in. Jump to the Sherman fisheries porch roof or on top of the small tree for swag kills. Lay down to crawl past SF sign. As the game play evolves, hopefully this area will see more play. There is a yellow track-vehicle right here. It is next to a building that overlooks the lake house area. Just outside and south of this are fences and hummers to climb. Get on the nearest hummer to the yellow track vehicle, turn and look at the 15 mph sign. Jump to the ac unit and climb in the window. Go to the totem pole. Face east (towards 'town'/fishery) you can climb the covered cellar stairs into window quite obviously. To the right is a pier and a boat, get on the boat. Go to the crane (large diagonal pole on back of boat) jump on the base, crouch, walk up top. People are catching on, i used to go untouched for entire rounds up here. The beam sticking out of the building is fake, don't try to get on it. You can get on the cabin of the boat, but not really good. The front of the boat isn't bad. Go to boat on land. On the deck, starboard (right side facing forward) side, get by the snow mound for a decent sniper spot. If you lay carefully on the heli windshield, you can crawl up and lay under the blades, but it is hard to aim anywhere. But may earn you a swag kill. Next to the frozen lake/house is a rock with a dead tree. With careful jumps you can get most of the way out on it for a swag kill. Not much practical use. In the lake house: by the fireplace, climb the red chair, climb onto the upstairs. You can get on the side of the waterwheel. I forgot, though obvious, in town, the building 'fishery processing' by the yellow snow-track vehicle are crates that can be climbed into the window there. The rest is sight lines and avenues of travel, which are up to you. Happy gaming! Edit 3.22.14: just some tidbits; start in the fisheries spawn. Run forward, stay left past yellow track vehicle, past the door on your right and immediately climb the green transformer box on the wall. Jump to the yellow garage roll-door thing straight ahead. Watch the road/pier at the start of the match. Or, continue to the last piece of brown fence, past the snowman. Climb it, peer over that building with the barbed wire on top. You can (while on the fence) back up to the pole and you are fairly hidden, watching this area. Easily revenge killed, so don't stay long. Just behind this, you can get on a blue barrel for a similar view. Between the house and the rock is a green transformer, climb on that for a sneaky view of the lodge rear roof. Note the many windows in this map, even the dark ones and slit ones as they often offer views if you stand in the right place or on the right object to see out of them. For example; people call in care packages in the south east by the green snow mobile. Directly west of that, you can look out of a window to see them while remaining basically unseen. You can watch the red boat through the helicopter windows. Arctic Lumber building, north west; head out the southern door so that the log wall is on your right. Go to the end of the wall, climb up against the end. Look directly at the tree. The right side of your screen watches the western entrance from the helicopter spawn area, the left side watches the path from the same area. You can be seen from the left, but not much from behind. From there, look left at the red flare below, head that way, but as soon as you drop down, stop. Immediately on your left is a low white rock. Get on it, look up to the left of the tree above you, climb up. Drop down to the red flare, climb the white ridge on your right. Immediately in front of you should be a tiny triangle on the rocks where the rocks don't connect, minor glitch of no value, just fyi. If you look through at the correct angle, you will see the Sun, despite there being rock on the other side of the...um, rock. Go right, then left so you come out looking at the grounded red boat. With difficulty you can climb the ice facing the fisheries side and jump out to the ice near the front of the boat. This rarely works and has no real value. Edit: easier to jump from the rock ledge to the ice on the front of the boat. At the rear of this boat, i saw in a video, that you can jump from the white snow mound onto the control arm of the large rear crane. I simply can't do it. It has no practical value. Between that boat and the totem pole is another tree that you can get on for swag kills, no real practical value. Get on the pier by the boat in the water, jump to the crane. Go up top. Jump to the light on the pier below, jump on top of the door to the building. No real value. On the rear of the boat is a tiny step, by the water. You can drop onto it and squat, to be fairly hidden. Note the windows here. From the top of the crane, you can walk down slightly and see through the dark windows with a thermal scope anyone without Incog. Or you can see anyone standing in front of that door through the lower window. Get on the pier, go to the barrels, get on the ocean side tiny ledge of the pier so that you are hiding behind the barrels. Not sure if that is stupid or not. Patched, can't get under dock anymore: Go east to the lighthouse, get on the pier sticking into the water by the inaccessible boat. Between the dock and the boat are 2 posts in the water, jump to each of them. Ahead of you should be two posts of the boardwalk. The left has a tire. Look at the snow under it. Jump to it. You should catch a tiny foothold, aim to land on the snow itself, if you jump too far, you simply bounce off of the boardwalk and into the water. You can squat there or, get in the middle between the two posts, face the ocean, hold B to lie down, crawl backwards under the boardwalk. You can only be seen from the pier sticking out by the boat. Maybe for infected? You can't get back out as far as i can tell. Edit: this part has been mostly patched; you can catch a tiny ledge still, but any movement drops you in the drink. The ice at the front of the grounded boat has also been patched so you can't get into it (that cheat wasn't mentioned here, because it was a definite cheat). It now teleports you 2 feet right. Bonus edit: almost forgot; start at fisheries spawn, see the window above the yellow track vehicle? Go up there, carefully fall out of the window onto the white boards. Face the building, go left until you can 'contextual lean' around the corner to view the totem pole area for a potentially rage inducing kill. You can also jump the middle area, with the light fixture and land on the white boards on the other side, but the window shutters block any good views you might have had. Have fun. Go to the boat in the water that you can get on. Walk down the pier, drop to the snow with the ocean on your left. There is a mound of snow by the waters edge. Go around it to the west side, get on the sloped side of it into the water (not too far or you start to take damage). Face north (away from the ocean) and lay down. You should be laying under the water, not taking damage. Should be good for killstreak use, though i haven't viewed it from another persons view.
  5. Freight: troll factor 2 (another good map ruined by overpopularity). This map is split into east and west with tracks up the middle. There are two gates that can be stabbed/shot open. The first: the eastern half, the northern building of the two larger buildings. Second floor, leading out to the 'containers' area is a double-door that can be opened. It is pretty obvious. The second one is middle south bottom, just west of the tracks. Leads underground. Follow that tunnel to the other end. At the top of the stairs, on a column just outside of the steps, and on that same column on the second floor are switches that will close off this tunnel and ride the 'malt booster' (according to upstairs sign) in front of the door. Head north one building, stay on ground level. You are under the first doors that you stabbed open. The western side (by tracks) has a door that can be opened or closed inside or outside. Head west to tracks, climb that car right there. Look west at building (says loading area) jump on left roof. Note the blue dumpster to your left (south) as this will also allow you to jump to this roof. There is also a wood pile on the eastern end that you cab climb up. Directly under this roof is another actionable door. The west side of this building has a ladder; shoot it to have it drop to ground level, it could be stabbed from the top as well. If you go up top, go to the other end and jump into an opening to see across the map. The next building over (just south of this one) has an actionable door that faces this building. The next building (the southernmost of these three-called Owens building) has an actionable door on the east side, by the tracks. Inside the Owens building, get to the second floor. There are paper rolls and orange vats. Climb the paper rolls, lone orange vat to access 'hidden' sniper loft third level. Just below this are ledges that allow travel between the windows (you can jump between the middle building and the Owens building). You can climb the middle train car, but i see no tactical advantage. The third floor of the building with the ladder has a side view across the map that should be obvious. I guess that's it for Freight. Happy gaming, I'll be back with more. Edit: additional stuff, there is always more; go between the eastern buildings to the red dumpster. Get on it, while on it go in the southern building. Face the yellow 'stand clear of moving doors' sign. Jump up and left to get up one level. Go out the door on your right onto the balcony. Jump from the rail across to the northern building. You can jump back to the rail from the window. Go through the northern building, fall out the window slightly west of the stabable gate. Climb the fence. Face the building. Jump up and left to get back in the window that you came out. Back on the red dumpster: you can also jump to the outside railing of the porter building (not always easy). Edit: squad advice; don't pick this map for your hq if you pick an objective mode as the doors can be closed, making it difficult for your bots. Especially Blitz mode. Bots occasionally breach, but I have never seen them use a door or push a dumpster. Bonus: spectator mode, find middle tracks, go north just outside map. You should see a bear hidden slightly east of the tracks, in by the containers. Also, despite traffic and train noise, there is no activity outside the map.
  6. Tremor: troll factor 6. Note that the map changes slightly with each tremor. At one point a leaking gas line emerges that can be ignited. It will cause some minor harm to players running through it. Edit: it seems to randomly ignite/go out. Center north spawn. You are by a white fema truck. Look south at yellow brick building, get on the stuff between the two garage doors (left is open). Be sure to get on the tiny electrical box which is the highest point below the window. Break the window. While looking up, your character facing the building, back up slightly from wall. Jump, push left (aim for center of window) hit A (if needed) to climb in window. This is not the easiest jump in the game. Middle south: a phone pole falls on a police car. Presumably fatal if you are in the way. Edit: tested this; if you stand on the cop car, the pole will not fall and stays up for the rest of the game. There are two yellow dumpsters that can be pushed. One is far west (northern area, east side of greyed-out building), this does nothing much. I get the idea that originally the garage could be accessed here, but got cut, probably due to time constraints (just a guess: the area just outside this is called out 'parking garage', also adding to the theory that this was originally going to be included). The second yellow pushable dumpster is in the middle south, the slightly left-er building, near the crushed cop car (once the pole falls). There is a broken fire escape above it which can be jumped to. Or slide the dumpster over for an easier climb. Minor glitch/cheat: as you push it under the steps, jump on it, turn around. When you hit the steps, you instantly appear on the steps, facing up. Inconsequentially cheaty. The dumpster must still be in motion when you hit the steps or it doesn't work. The broken gasline is 10 feet south of this dumpster. A manhole rises up and you will see squiggly lines depicting gas. Even stabbing it will ignite it (this will harm you). It goes out before long but can be reignited. Edit 3.21.2014: by the broken steps with the yellow dumpster; climb the steps, while still facing that direction, jump to the open window. There is a tiny brick sticking out that seems to have an invisible block under it. If you land on it, you are up on the wall. Not great, but something. Go to the lowest blue (interior) spot on the middle-ish building, if looking at the pause map. Inside it says 'move today, run tomorrow'. Go up the steps. At the top, turn around. See the tiny grey ledge that separates the higher blue/rust colored wall from the whitish lower part of the wall? Get next to the red crate and jump along the wall on the right side, looking down the steps. You should stop dead on that tiny ledge. Oh so carefully make your way around the corner, camp up there, shoot unsuspecting victims that come up or down the steps. Next, go up the steps, stay right, make right onto the walkway (called skybridge in game). Get on the right side wall, facing the same direction, jump around the corner onto a small ledge, walk out to larger ledge near corner of the building (i can't get this to work, so fn hard). Or, get on the left side, carefully move to building ahead. You are kind of out of sight there, but not great. Next, carefully drop down onto the cement slab in the corner below you. You will be unseen from above and the arched door next to you, watch the other two ways. Next, find the center square area of the map. Go up the red ladder there. At the top, sneak around the broken edge of the building to your immediate left, drop onto a grey electrical box for a limited roof view/unexpected spot. Bonus: while free spectating, looking for bears, i noticed the wall graffiti along the lines of 'your search has no grounds' or similar; either there is nothing to search for, or it was a clue to finding it. Also, if you go up the broken highway, signs read 'FDR' and Manhattan Civic Center, though it is supposedly in Texas.
  7. I'll try to make them as understandable as possible way2 (i hate bad info), but I'm old, blind and stupid... :)
  8. DLC Map post: DLC Bonus Map Free Fall: This is the standalone dlc map that came with the game. Originally separate, it was added to the regular line up in March 2014. It is a small 'balanced' arena map. It is a wildly unrealistic scenario where a chunk of building is somehow stuck between two buildings and grinds it's way towards the ground without ever reaching it. In under 10 minutes, the map will 'drop' 3(?) times, slightly changing the aesthetics of the map and kicking up some dust. Starting in the west: there are 2 couches that let you climb up to the second story, they are a little finicky, walk up to them, get the 'A to jump' symbol, go up, move around slightly until you get the symbol again to climb. You can camp the top of them or go in the second level. On the second level note the sideways door to climb through on your right. Edit: from the opening, you can get on the tiny edge of the tiles by the opening. So you will be off to the side of the hole, on the wall. Drop back out by the couches, head north, see the 'the one H hotel'. At the northern edge (where you can fall out of the map), get on the grey stone on the left (yellow wood leaning against it). You can carefully go over the other side and crouch into the corner, off the edge of the map. Looking east over the gap, there is a room that you can't get in that i think you were originally supposed to, but it got nixed. Climb out, head east until you can make a left (looking at 1H again) to your left is a tiny spot that you can jump to, behind the broken t-bar ceiling tiles. It is a pesky jump that will more often result in your fall to death, but it is there. Head east to the orangey wall, look south. Head south 20' to the burning planter box with the wood chip piles. You can climb that to sit on or get up top. Get down, face north (1H), make right (east). When you hit the burning orange wall, go slightly south and east past it. You are now at the east end. Turn around. See the polka-dot wall? See the second story window/hole? You can climb into it by the giant circular object. Edit: climb up, go left to the ramp. You can jump on the thin ledge on the right, above the ramp to take anyone coming up by surprise. The same with the other ramp in this area (seen on map) slightly north. Yeah, not much surprising here. Either end is open for cp, either end is best for user controlled killstreaks. Edit: bots; bots will shoot you through the sideways doors, despite the fact that they can't be seen through by humans. So be aware if playing squads, safeguard (private match), or private match game versus bots. Edit: During one of the 'falls' when the map lowers, i was killed by falling debris as i climbed into the second story where all the white polka-dots are. So apparently there is some 'falling debris' danger in this map. I tried to pinpoint the locations that this occurs, but since the map was added to the regular rotation, it will not 'fall' at all during private match games, which it used to. So I wasn't having any luck tracking down the danger zones. But i wanted to bring this to peoples attention. Edit: safeguard mode; in the western 'building' upstairs, is a door in the floor that you fall through. This does not happen in mp. Later, the door opens in the floor. This may occur in mp games as the map falls/not sure. Also, as of this edit, sd packages land on the 'roof' often. $$$ DLC 1 Onslaught Maps: $$$ Containment: a classic style map that has a nuke on a truck, on a bridge, that takes out the bridge when it gets hit by mortar fire, which is the specialty killstreak in this map. It will kill any near it, and it will destroy the bridge, changing the map slightly. There are also several breech spots in this map. Starting in the middle south; there is a building on your right. You can not get on the overhang above the door. Go right into the building (blue and white floor tiles outside) stay left and you should immediately see a red breachable skull symbol on a boarded window. Breach it, climb through. Go right, at the edge of the building is a fence to stab open. Have at it. Head directly west to the church, go through the open double-doors and continue west to the edge of the map (inside the church). Turn right, go through the arched doorway and breach the door immediately on your right. Go down and out, note where the breachable door was on the outside. Go north across the dry riverbed, up the ramp and steps. You should see a broken wall, and through it, a building with a red-skull breach spot slightly NE. Breach it. Go in that doorway to the inside, note the other end. Get on the middle pool table, climb up top. On the roof. Note the place to climb up the north side, try it. Note the ladder on the west side. Note the ladder on the south side. Just south of the ladder, you can climb the wood-slat fence, walk up the wall onto the roof. There is a transformer by the southern ladder that can be used as a hidden snipe spot for anyone coming under the bridge-truck. Note the east side of the roof has a truck that will allow you access to that same roof. Jump on the truck, jump east to another roof. Note the way to climb up, try it out. Head south to the nuke truck on the bridge (it messes with your radar). See the billboard. From the truck or wall, you can jump to either side of that billboard (not easy). For the tree side, i jump from the truck roof or the red bridge column by the truck cab (you can also get on the tree). For the other side, go past the truck cab, south, and get on the white column in the center of the bridge (this is fairly easy to jump to the billboard from). Note that the graphics don't mesh with the collision barrier; you can lie down and be under the white wood, floating in the air. Also, the ends opposite the truck end before they visually end, so you will fall through the wood if you head too far east on the billboard. Jump back to bridge. Head directly north to the edge of the map (no entre), with a red-striped building on your left. There is half of a ladder. Push the dumpster under the ladder, climb up. Once inside, breach the southern window. Make your way down the steps and we're done here. Not much hidden stuff, but a few interactives. The red-striped building is pretty good for local safeguard or camping bots, just make sure the dumpster isn't under the ladder and they will only use the stairs. Edit: Tree in dry river bed: go to the bridge, fall off heading west. In the NW of the dry river bed is a tree. Get on the makeshift wall slightly north. Get up on the level next to the wood (can't get up on wood). Jump to the center area of the tree. With luck, you will land on a small ledge in the tree, about where the black ring hours around it. You may shoot the church bells to ring them. Egg hunt: in each of the Onslaught dlc maps is a hidden bit of cryptid egg. If you find and shoot it in a pub match, you get rewarded. Get all 4 for 2000xp, then play a pub extinction and the first hive that you destroy will give 10,000xp for extinction. On this map; get on the movable dumpster, look out of the map on the roof of the building to the east for a bump on the roof that is the egg. Shoot it, you will get a notification on the upper left side of your screen, below the minimap (core, xbox360). $$$ BayView: this is a small, building-cluttered map. There is a tram car that makes a square-C back and forth trip around the southern end of the map. You can get on it, on top of it, place explosives on it, place sentry guns on it. It will push you if you get in front of it. There are no other interactives. Edit: it eats safeguard support drops. If you are getting the drop when this occurs, it glitches your game. Specialty killstreak: mortar fire, no special effects. Disclaimer: there isn't much practical parkour in this map, I'm typing mostly pointless bits. If you are timid on new maps, try lurking the seating things along the southern side as they provide views and cover. Start in the southern tip, it is a lighthouse that has a ladder on either side and a roof hole to fall through. You can jump across from the roof to one of those green things. Slightly north, see the 'city of BayView' sign. Climb the transformer on your left. Climb roof, break window, go inside. Make a left, go west to the railing, get on it (pink flowers below you). Get over it, onto the thin grey ledge, walk that around to the south side. Not very useful. Drop off, go to the north side of this building, go up the steps back onto the balcony. From the north side, you can jump to the trolley, the green thing by the trolley, the red-roofed concession stand, and from that, the a.t.m. Go back through building to where you broke in, face north, break that glass, get on the a.c. unit directly ahead. If you get on the plant to your left, you are in a dirty camp spot that is only good for a kill or two before you'll get killed back. Get back on the a.c. unit and walk east on the wall, jump the boxes (you can climb up/over them from below). Go to the eastern corner (on the wall). Jump to the top of the directory sign (not the easiest). Face nw, jump onto an edge of the shrubbery. You can get on the palm bulb at the north end, so you are fairly hidden from sight (this is rather a pain to do in a match and isn't worth it). From the shark, head east. Go up the coffee shop via the east ladder, north stairs, or climb the west balcony, either on the grey thing, or the wood/glass display case to the blue-topped case to the balcony. On the balcony; get on the southern, curved edge. Jump onto the round coffee sign (not always easy) get on the main coffee sign for another unexciting parkour. Note the southern seating things; at the ends, you can get on the bench to have views through the windows. I guess that's it. Egg hunt: on the underside of a pier in the east, outside the map, is the egg. Can be seen from the ground just east of the lighthouse. $$$ Fog: this is a horror movie cliche map. It has one breachable cave and a special killstreak for doing the Field Orders; you will call in a modified 'Maniac' killstreak, only you will be Michael Myers, replete with mask and axe. There is also a nice satanic altar, a sacrificial lamb, spiders, alligators, owls, and plenty of bones, blood, and horror ambiance. Northern tip; this is the remains of a bridge. You can get off to either side a little to call in user controlled killstreaks or possibly camp. Head directly south into a cave, note the pit on your right to fall into and die. It also has a little cryptid off to one side (egg hunt). You can jump over it using the protruding log (or simply walk around it). Note the sacrificial lamb and satanic altar. Follow the blood trail west until it ends, hug the left wall and head east until next to the giant tree by the porch. Go up to the tree, from the side opposite the porch. Get on it. You can walk to the porch roof, but don't. Do walk most of the way there, turn around to face the center area of the tree. From here, you can jump right onto a branch, then jump right again onto a higher one for a fairly high view. Or you can jump left onto a branch. Now get on the porch roof. Go in the broken section, go down and left. You should see a blood spot on the floor and a breachable floor-door. Breach it (when you breach this, it often explodes early, stunning you. Whether a glitch or a purposeful 'scare', i can't say). Go down the bloody cave and out. Notice where the other end is as you can breach it there as well (where you first hear the crickets/frogs). Go back through the cave to the house, make a left, go outside. There is a boat by the water. Get on the rock by the tree. Get against the tree for a semi hidden spot. Go east along the edge of the map, pass the cabin (by the breached cave), into the water. Note the algae growth can pseudo-hide you if you lie down or can effectively hide i.e.d.s. Head north west until you return to the bridge remains, where we started. See the tree and cabin remains slightly south? Get on the hill south of the remains, jump onto the broken slats. Get closer to tree for a semi hidden spot. Go north to the edge, head west to the rock. Note the extra ledge of rock to lie hidden on for user controlled killstreak use. Just south of here is another giant tree, while it can't be climbed, be wary of campers/snipers lurking at its base. Continue south to the house. Note that you can climb the low roof, into the upstairs. Plenty of corner camps, plenty of window views. New: in the front door of the grainery, turn to the barrel by the door. If you position it correctly you will climb up the edge of the door as you try to climb the barrel, then you can jump up to a small ledge above the door. Egg hunt: as mentioned above, it is in the wall of the pit in the caves, by the Satanic altar. $$$ Ignition (MW2 Scrapyard remake): this is a rocket facility or nearby test center. Actionable item: in the building on the west side is a panel with a blinking red light and accompanying beeps. If you approach it you will be prompted to 'Hold X to Initiate Rocket Test' which will fire up a horizontal rocket engine in the room. This can kill. Unlikely versus humans, but bots have no qualms about painful burning death and will walk right into it often. Special killstreak: F1 Engine Test Fire Activator; Activates the large rocket engine above the middle of the map. Note that this is deadly to any in the flames and that the flames are channeled by the tunnels below, making them unsafe during this brief period. Time it well... Dynamic map environs: after about a minute of game time, the large red-digit clock in the north east begins a 1 minute countdown. During the last 20 seconds, you will hear voices over the loudspeakers. The large rocket (off map in ne) will launch and be struck by a missile. 2 sections will become parts of the middle of the map, a third will fall near the rocket test building, allowing you to climb the middle building. If you are in these locations at the time, you will die. This will also explode a gas tank by the eastern edge of the map, also lethal. Note that you can shoot this tank to cause it to explode as well. Unlike the original map, which you could climb over every plane part, this version is extremely restrictive. Note: shortly after release, the ladder pictured in the loading screen was removed along with the greenery. Start middle south, in the crawler. Note the ladder and stairs leading to sniper lofts. By the middle north exit; get on the edge of the grey container between the white panels (little southern edge), get on the one above it. Then (really hard), face west (aim at the NW corner of the crate that you are on), back up to the SE edge of the container, run forward a foot, jump right so that you land on the white panel to your right (north). Jump slightly south to the other panel while pushed as west as possible. You can shoot over the higher northern panel or; Face the northern, higher panel, jump on it. Then turn around and jump up to the giant shock absorber bracket (you land on the bolts, squat and move into the corner). Snipe from there. Head north to the burning/smoking rectangular thing that fell from the sky. Climb the north side, jump east onto the building. From here, run south, jump onto the brown boxes. These can be sniped from. From the roof you were on, you can jump to the west side of the building to the east. You will be on a tiny ledge, walk north to the campy corner. Go to the northernmost building, go inside. First floor, walk up to the northern glass. Note the terribly done 'ODIN' reflection, the N is all wrong. Note that it creepily follows you as you walk along it. I think its supposed to be a reflection of the Odin symbol on the floor, but again, it's f'd up. Happy DLC'ing! Egg hunt: in the map, in the northeasternmost underground tunnel is a large clump of Cryptid eggs. Safeguard note: the tall ladder in the crawler is removed in this mode. The northern 'odin command' building is decent for holding down; they usually just come in the middle front door and the one by the steps. I've actually won it just east of this building, occasionally using the building for cover. $$$ DLC 2 Devastation Maps: $$$ Unearthed (MW3 Dome reimaged) Made to look slightly less boring than the original, this hated troll map returns. Now it has trailers with explosives around the map for a little added fun. The theme of the map is that it is where some of the Cryptids from Extinction were discovered and this is reflected in the special weapon, the killstreak, and the ambiance. In the underground SW(?), there are closed-off mines where you can hear ambient Cryptid sounds emanating from the mines. There are two doors that open when you come near, attached to tube/tunnels in NE. There is a crane that you can ride. There is a special weapon, Weapon X from the Extinction mode. This may appear in Ammo Crate on this map. Killstreak: the cp calls in 3 (pseudo) Seekers from the extinction mode which run towards enemies and self destruct, killing any near enough and wounding those just out of lethal range. Careful as they can hurt you. Special weapon and interactive crane: there is a large crane in the middle of the map. Use explosives to destroy the 3 'cable brakes(?)' along the back of the crane arm. When the last is destroyed, the suspended cage will drop onto a truck back. Climb in the back to find the Weapon X and also to access the crane controls. The crane will close you in and move you across the map. If you use it again, it will return you to the original spot. Weapon X: 10 shots, if you die, you lose it. RT (xbox) fires the gun, LT makes the green blob explode. If you don't detonate the blob, it will detonate shortly after it lands. This leaves a very temporary cloud of gas, similar to 'scorpion gas (extinction)' that hurts any in it. Note: I find stuff on my own, but I looked this one up and found a video of our own LiamFTWinter giving out this information, so kudos to Liam for the help on this. Egg hunt: find the giant meteor in the map. Look down below it from right next to it to find the Cryptid Egg. No spots worth mentioning yet. This dlc is very restrictive, invisible barriers around everything like it's a Trollarch map pack. $$$ Ruins: this map is designed similar to Chasm, lots of ins and outs, ups and downs. This map has a Predator theme, reflected in the ambiance (statue, skulls, predator face facade) and the killstreak. Special killstreak 1: Predator suit. Similar to the Maniac/Michael Myers, this is called in, picked up, but now you are in Predator mode; using your arm blades and shoulder gun to get kills. Extra health, no healing. Left Trigger switches between regular sight and special thermal sight. Gun needs to lock on, Incog seems to stop the lock on. You either hold RT to lock on or maybe it was hit RT to lock, hit RT to fire (I'll try to get the right info here). Killstreak 2: Fallout from the background volcano. Rain a little fire and brimstone on those evil enemies. Egg hunt: in the south east, just out of the map is a small structure that has the Cryptid Egg in it. Go to the eastern lobes that stick out of the map, from the southern one, you can easily see into the structure that houses the Egg. Some pathetic spots: find the main helicopter body middle south, slightly east. At the rear of it is a stick, jump at it until you get on it (or jump on the low rock, then on the stick). You are now on that low ledge of little value. Make your way west to the darkest corner. You may also simply jump on the ledge in some spots. Also can be dropped to from above. North east dark corner: go up the stone ramp look south. There is a door frame below you with a panther (?) Head sticking out of it, you can drop onto that door frame/head. $$$ Collision: this map is a freight ship that has collided with a bridge. It is a boring arena map surrounded by invisible barriers and the area outside the map looks way more fun to play in. There are 2 pointless breachable spots. Both in the middle area, one towards the north west, one to the north east. Special killstreak: A10 strafing run. The plane pilots itself for 2 runs while you fire cannons and missiles. Spots: find the middle grey roof area. Note the 2 ducts that let you drop grenades, tacticals from above. Look NE to the American flag. With difficulty, you can jump to the corner to it's left. You can also jump to an invisible ledge to it's right; run/jump at the middle of the 3 brown boards to the right of the flag. You should be floating against the wall. Head to the western corner of this roof area. You should be looking at road debris on top of one of the breachable areas. Look at the blue container with the boards sticking out. Jump to the farthest edge of the nearest boards protruding from the debris above the container. You should land on boards/pavement for another unexciting spot. Egg hunt: go towards the bridge in the NE. Find the taxi, from the driver's side, walk to the square piece of broken asphalt leaning against the guard rail/edge of map. Look between the rails at the bottom edge of the bridge, by the water line for the egg. $$$ Behemoth: this is a small, long map set on top of a giant digger. Another restrictive map surrounded by invisible barriers. Unbalanced spawns in flag games. Special killstreak: be the gunner on the side of a helicopter. This is essentially the Helo Scout only with a minigun with explosive rounds. You move the heli and fire the minigun. Presumably it times out, you could be shot out of it like the HS, and most likely has an upper kill limit as well. Egg hunt: go to the western end of the map. Head east along the northern edge until you get to the part of the railing that sticks out to the north (next to large yellow support). Get in that area, look west and down for the egg. Spots: from the eastern end, head west until you get to the tiny room with north and south stairs. Either steps, get on the western rail, jump west onto an invisible ledge protruding from the small yellow column. Jump to each column, or onto the grey box's edge next to them. On the far side of the grey box is also a round pivot/joint full of bolts that you can jump on with difficulty. Again, nothing of real value. $$$ DLC 3 Invasion Maps: $$$ Pharoah: Blessing of Anubis killstreak: Get most perks. Lasts for 4 lives (core tdm). I did not see Overkill, nor Extra Attachment, not sure if extra lethal/tactical were in the mix, but you probably get them. Actionable item: Drop obelisk using an explosive near it's base. Egg hunt (remember to go to squads> Invasion> safeguard> play now, to get the easiest access to this and have it count). North building, slightly east. Out of map in north burning area. Look up and through the flames, on wall between columns. Secret chamber with care package (once per game activation): turn 3 torches that appear cocked to one side (x prompt on screen): 1. Sw building, middle wall. 2 Middle east building, east wall. 3. North building, west wall. Hit all 3, go to the north east section of the north building (by the cryptid egg). Door in the corner opens (snake on floor). Once you grab the package, you have a limited time to exit the room before the door permanently closes and fire jets fill the room (not in all game modes). The package will remain there with the door open as long as nobody takes it. Scarab jars: these are jars with lids (that you can crawl through to see that they are empty) which rattle on a regular basis, if you break them they releases attack bugs, which are lethal to any who are in the small area of effect, during it's duration. They work through walls, where applicable (not in all game modes). Area of note: from the middle eastern building, go north out of it and make a left, go up top. This is a defensible plateau. At the north tip of the eastern side is a tiny room with a scarab jar in it. May be good for killstreak use. $$$ Departed: Killstreak: Death Mariachi ghosts. You have 2 pistols, get a funky new look, and can see enemies highlighted in red through the walls until you have 2 mariachi squad mates, if one dies, you get the red halo back until you have 2 squad mates again. When you kill an enemy, you get a clone Death Mariachi squad mate. Maximum of two squad mates. They go away when you die. If one of them dies, it will be replaced next time that you kill. You don't heal. You may earn Death Mariachi more than once per match. Note that your DM squad members appear briefly as shield support squad mates before turning into DM clones. If you get a kill, there will be a blue puff of smoke. Breach spot: middle north building has 2 breech spots with 3 openings. NE corner has breach spot (egg hunt). Egg hunt: north east corner. Behind red urn with 2 white zig zag stripes. You must breach it first (in safeguard, it is breached). Middle north building, northern edge, the white roof can be walked upon. $$$ Mutiny: Killstreak 1: Cannon Brigade; Pirate ship drive-by shooting. Killstreak 2: Ghostly Crew; you gain 2 'ghost' squad members. Egg hunt: Top of ship, center grate, look down there for the egg. Spots: north, slightly west is Flint's Folly, a tavern. On the north wall is a fireplace that you can get on either side of. Leave Flint's via the southern exit, past the large barrels and out by the ship. Immediately on your right are boxes that can be climbed to the window or walkway above. Check it out, fall back down here. Looking at the front of the ship, climb the barrels, get on the post, jump up and right to climb up. Walk to the front, go prone, push forward and left to crawl to the port side (south), stand up. Fall off of the port side, you can jump back up from there. Note that you can also fall onto the bow from above. From the port side of the bow, jump west to a chunk of wood sticking out of the wall of the Hog's Tooth Inn. Drop down, head west up the steps but stop at the end of the lower middle rail of the steps. Get on it, jump up to the walkway above. Drop down, head to the far east by the anchor on the dock. Look left at boxes that you can climb to the walkway above. Note the 2 bells that can be rung with a stab, throwing knife, and select guns. They each swing improperly, the wood above them should also swing. Also note that you cannot get on the poop deck of the ship. $$$ Favela: altered mw2 reprint: Killstreak: Y-8 gunship (basically ac130). You are flown above the map with 3 guns at the ready; hit Y to cycle between them. 1. Large missile. Slow reset. 2. 4 medium explosives. Slow reset. 3. Machine gun. Zoomed view. Egg hunt: in the east/south east is a small graveyard. The egg can be seen through the gate there or from the eastern building roof, it is just out of the map to the east. Map: this is not a direct reprint, colors have changed as well as areas of access and travel. Some old ones are gone, some new ones added. Gone from original: south side: ac units outside of barber shop. 2 ac units along the main south wall are now inaccessible as a path. North building roof is now inaccessible. In the east, the 'penthouse' no longer has a ledge behind it that is accessible. You can't jump into the tree there, the tree changed. The bullet proof vegetation has changed into smaller plants. If you are familiar with Favela, the main things to note are the ledge added to the east side of the east building that wraps around to the wall-hole and the ladder. In the west side of this building, ledges were added (in the original, they had no collision, you would fall through them). Note that you can jump from the barber shop to the nearest ledge. The fridge by the northernmost building can now be used to access the roof it is next to. Walkthrough: middle south building, jump in the upstairs window from the north (from across street). Fall out window, head east to green dumpster by green building. Climb it, jump/climb into window above. Note views, note roof holes to drop through above you. Fall out east window, drop to ground. Climb up the dumpster there, back onto lower roof. Run/jump into the barber shop window (blue building top). Get back in that window facing out, stay left, run to fall back to roof that you just jumped from. Climb back in the window there on the green building and up the ladder ahead. From that high wood roof, face the barber shop again and jump back into that same barber shop window (blue area). Go left (inside) to the outside wooden steps. Jump through the blue/yellow banner to a ledge on the west side of the eastern building (note that there is another ledge along this side at the next window as well). Jump back to the barber stairs, turn around, jump to the ledge by the ladder. Walk east, pass the ladder, onto a newly added ledge. Follow around to wall hole, noting the window views as you go (inside by the wall hole are holes in the roof to fall through). Follow the ledge to the end by steps. Head to north east corner, head southwest up steps onto the roof. Immediately make a right and walk down the broken wall. Fall off the right side, climb any dumpster to get back up. Climb the ladder by the dumpsters to access small roof (this shack can also be climbed from the opposite side). You can jump to the yellow building's roof or to the broken wall from here. Head to center north building, find the white fridge, climb it, climb on roof. Get on barrels, jump into window of red brick building (you can also jump from the roof itself). Go through the left door, climb over the low wall, drop by the blue dumpster. Climb the blue dumpster onto the roof. This is where the bullet-proof plants used to reside. Walk around the outer edges, behind the red brick broken wall bits. Jump west to a ledge with green barrels, or jump south to the next roof (they are attached). Note the edge around the east side of this building. You can jump to the patio above 'creamy rick's' or to the southern building. From the southern building, fall into the 'green' building from before (SE, near barber shop) by dropping through a hole or by the ladder. Look out northern window (overlooking the soccer field). Drop onto fence below. Carefully jump to the lone fence post (no fence) at the corner of the building ahead (this can be hard). Face the building (west), jump up and right to climb up. Carefully drop onto a sign on the eastern side, attached to that building (above soccer field), make your way to the window, climb in. Note the ledge on the other side of the window too, get on it, drop north to the ground. Head west up the steps to the yellow railing. Make left, climb into the window on the left. Climb back out, head right to the yellow rail. Get on it, jump to 2 new ledges along yellow building. In the middle west, west side, you can climb a dumpster into the building there. That's most of it. There are little things in the map that you can get on like the fence/soccer goals, but this was most of the valuable paths/spots that are less obvious. $$$ DLC 4 Nemesis Maps: $$$ Subzero: (homage to sub base?) Killstreak: (beast caller/the beast) This calls in 3 whirlwind monsters and a blizzard. The monsters appear as snow vortices with red eyes. If they touch you, you die. Easy enough to kill them. Egg hunt: north east corner, down in the missile solo. Stand on the latch, look down past the rocket. Actionable item: there is one large door that can be opened/closed. Bright red/green button by it. In the southwest. Restrictive map, look for fairly obvious crates to climb into windows around the map. $$$ Dynasty: Killstreak: (FYL-21) a harrier strike, then the plane lurks and kills enemies. Egg hunt: south west, by the giant gate. Look across the water for a ship with red sails. It is on that ship. Teddy bear by B flag in closed tunnel. A few windows to climb in. A couple of difficult strafe jumps to ledges of little value. $$$ Goldrush: Indiana Jones Easter egg. Killstreak: wolf pack; call in 3 wolves that fight for you. Easy enough to kill, work similar to guard dog. Egg hunt: middle south, by the giant pool. Look east for the cave with the broken tracks. The egg is in there on the left wall. There are 2 mine carts to ride. They can kill you. There is a platform that B flag is on that raises and lowers. On the platform that raises/lowers, climb either gear at either end while it is up. Jump onto small ledge above for an open camp spot that is catching on quickly. You can walk the beams when it is in a different position than you. With difficult jumps, you could jump on some cactus' for little value. $$$ Showtime: mw Shipment remade. It starts as the originalish design size, but after 30 seconds, doors open to allow you into outer hallways too. Just after which a voice states that they are experiencing technical difficulties. Killstreak: slot machine. 1: drop 6 care packages. 2: 'stand clear' windows open to expose sentry guns. 3: poison gas. You may get one to all of those. Screens show the randomizer, then show what comes up. Egg hunt: west edge, climb the boxes by the video screen marked '1,2,3'. Just south of the 'winner' window with the cash and car. Jump above the '3' screen, peer south through broken window. Egg is below the 'gun 2' poster. Sniper/overlook spots: in the tv room, by the ladder (the room with the blue-screen teleprompter), jump out past the ladder onto some small lights by the large mesh fence. You can also strafe jump with an agility class out the left side to an unintended ledge/corner. From the egg hunt ledge, jump out towards the middle of the map, land on ledge by corner, get around corner on ledge. Can someone explain the south room with the 'stand clear' doors? They don't seem to open from 'slot machine'. There are ? targets in the map. The one nearest to this Southern room has a greyish area on the minimap, and the floor there appears slightly different. So i assume that had something to do with opening it, some kind of unfound Easter egg? That room is open in Safeguard mode. It is a weapons cache (pronounced cash) room, but you can't interact with anything in the room. $$$ Back with more clarity/spots in due time. Happy gaming! Nemesis Extinction egg hunt: I'm unsure on this, but i think that you must open 1 of 3 doors, stand in the white-light circle for 2 minutes of fighting to finish the egg (?).
  9. Many people have restricted video at work, so i always try to do text descriptions of maps because it helped me in that situation. I don't really post for game modes nor every sightline, there are too many. I will post some parkour spots and the interactives. I won't post all at once and this is pre-dlc, dlc in third post. Pause the game to see the map:up is north, left-west, right-east, down-south. Edit: i run through these with a knife class so if some of these jumps are difficult, it may be your movement rate keeping them from being possible. Also note that lots of small items in the map can be climbed on, for sneaky views, keep an eye out. Example: Warhawk: you go up the brown stairs outside the one building, past through the first room into the sniper room. You can get on the pile of sheetrock boards and this will allow you to see over the wall and watch the door at the top of the brown steps. Edit: maps listed in the order they appear in game. Dlc's added as they come in. Edit: Note on bots: bots will stab gates open, never use x-activated interactives, and as of this edit, only breach on Octane and Dlc1s Containment. Not counting safeguard, just private/local and Squads. Re-edit: just after posting this, i had them breach on Fog for the first time that I've ever seen, so I'm not sure if the ai has been changed or if breaching on any map is possible, but rare. I'm trying to give correct info... I will add updates for stuff that i missed or forgot as time goes by. All starter maps now in this first post. All dlc in post 3 (blame way2 for this). $$$ Prison Break: Extremely unbalanced spawns in all game modes; tdm, federation spawns in the south with the most defensible area and sniper lofts, the ghost spawn is greatly disadvantaged. Flag games: same issue, plus federation spawns near 2 flags, the already disadvantaged northern ghosts team spawns near 1 flag. Worst balanced map in the game. Proper spawns should be: Tdm: federation is moved north, ghosts spawns just south of where B flag is in flag games. This would give an equal run to tower and high ground, allowing teams to battle for the best areas, rather than handing them unfairly to one team. Flag games: federation at A, ghosts at B flag, leaving C an open battle ground, rather than handing 2 flags and the high ground to the federation. Presumably, B and C flags would change location to keep the protocol of 1 team at A, 1 team at C. I have no idea why these spawns were chosen when they are so vividly unbalanced. Northwest is the lumber area: usually the quietest part. There is a limbless tree by the river that can be stabbed/ shot to fall against the middle hill path to make a shortcut (however unlikely, it will kill someone if they manage to get hit by it). Near the river is a wood pile that can be blown up to cause the logs to fatally roll into the river for a difficult swag-kill. The pile without the tarp on it. NW notes: if you stab the tree to topple it, and you keep pushing towards it, it will kill you. In the large tree is a monkey with a circular saw. There is a log truck, sitting or watching through the space between the cab and truck back gives a great view of the contested hill. Northeast: head to the bridge. At the edge of the waterfall (going off map) is a spot on the right side where you can drop down behind the greenish rock by the large tree (standing on bridge, looking off map, it is on the right side of the river, it looks scary, but you can drop down. You see right, you see up river, you see contested hill, people on the path to your left will be blind to you, you to them. Walk around the right side into river to get out. Standing on bridge looking off map, there are blue barrels to the left. Decent hidden corner. In this corner, you can squat and walk fairly far off of the cliff, so that you are sitting on the air, your gun just above ground level, and you are behind a branch. East side road: along the outside of the map, behind the square white rocks, is lots of hidden spots including a tree that hangs off of the map and large tree that you can get behind and control that road (poke around here, there is a few places). Note that you can jump into one tree from the hill above here. This watches the hill and the road. Go up the hill from here. At the first opening, you can get behind the rock on the right to be hidden from people coming up the hill from the other direction. You can be seen easily from the tower side. Edit: looking towards the tower, go to the rocks on your left, look down at a lone small dark rock below. You can drop onto that and be halfway down the cliff face by the truck. Not great, but mentioned. East and south of the tower has areas where you can hang partway off of the map, but they are not excellent. Southwest tower. There is a truck on the east side that you can climb to get on the scaffolding there. Behind the tower, you can get hidden by that large tree to watch the back approaches. Slightly more east, climb the gate-building: (climb to the yellow part with the red/white gate), walk down the blue fence to your right, carefully pass the tree and stay there next to the tree/rock. You can also jump on the red/white gate for a swag kill. Or jump across to the; Big truck by blue fence: in front of the truck is some rebar piles, get on that, climb truck. Hide in truck or snipe over the fence. Get on fence. There is a tree there that is better than it looks to hang out in on either the bottom branch, or climb the higher branch (carefully go right around the upward pointing branch) good for a swag kill or two, not for staying in. (Note the 'ball and chain' slightly east). Edit: they nerfed the tree ends here, you can't get onto the ends of the branches anymore. Weird. You can climb over just about every vehicle/structure and there are plenty of grassy spots to hide in. Edit 2.2.2014; go to the tower in the south. Go right, to the tree with the spider web. Just past it, get on the rock by the flower, walk the front edge of the rock to the tree, jump in between the two halves, so you are in the spider web. Face the half away from the rock, so the web is on your right. Back against the tree run/jump up the other side (not easy). Then you can go up the left branch, or overhang the edge of the map on the right branch. New 2.17: go to the hill in the east above the road, pass the first tree that you can jump onto and continue up it until you hit the rock. Look left (east) at a split tree. You have two options; Option 1: needs Agility/pistol or a knife class. I made an Overkill knife/sniper class- then run just past the rock and jump as far out as you can to the right half of the tree. If you aim correctly you will hit and stick to the tree. You will turn and face north. You can stay there and blend in or jump to the other half of the tree, then make your way out the eastern branch as far as you can to the splits, then the branches become fake. If you jump improperly, you will land between the two halves of the tree, see option 2 if this occurs. Option 2: this can be done with a pistol and no Agility: run and jump as far out as you can, aim for between the trees, you should land between the two halves. (If done at the start of a match, you should now face south, contextual lean around the left side and shoot enemies coming from the south east on the road. When the area is clear, continue). Face the north eastern half of the tree. Just like the spider-web-tree, you must now run-jump up to the higher branches (can be quick, can be infuriating). Once there make your way out into the cover on the eastern branch. I've never seen this one used by anyone. Have fun and happy gaming! 4.29 More fun with trees, use a light class/pistol (i did this in jugger armor, so don't sweat the class too much). Head to the south east where there is a troop transport vehicle. By the second square white stone from the right is a split tree. Get on the white stone by it (has golden flowers). Jump again and you should be on an invisible ledge, looking through the split tree. Move right as far as you can. Look down and right so that your reticle is aimed just right of the tree, in the sunshine, next to the shadow. You should see the white stone and flowers below you, if you hold LT, your gun should block the view of the flowers. Now back up a couple of inches, run/jump forward so that as you hit the barrier you are at the apex of your jump, then push left as you hit it. If done correctly, you will slide between the halves. This is difficult to do at first, but once you get it, it comes easy. First hard bit is done. Now, face the left half (north) and do the run/jump thing just like all of the other split trees, this one is a bit hard but you can't fall right due to a barrier (and you can't get on the bushes there), but you may fall left out of the tree, so keep pushing right as you come down to avoid that. Once you get up top; 1. Take right branch out over river. 2. Take left branch up a little, jump right into next tree. Difficult and deadly. 3. Or take left branch up a little. Fall left onto a tree below you. From here, go out the right branch towards the rocks, over the road. At the end, get to one edge, jump into the rear of the troop transport vehicle (i always knew there would be a way). From the vehicle, you can jump from the cab to the split tree in front of it. Instead of jumping to the vehicle, stay on the end of that branch for a decent spot. In the split tree in front of the truck, every attempt I've made to jump up the south side has dropped me to the ground, but it may be doable. Note that none of these spots are particularly valuable as they are harder to get into than other established tree posts of equal value. Though that may depend on the game mode, this should be good for infected and you can hide in the truck for Safeguard. Edit, this last tree post; when you first jump up from the spider web. Go up the left branch, turn around, carefully run/jump at the other side of the spider web tree and you should 'stick' just like the one the you can jump to from up top. This gives a decent road view. Note that this same method can be used, in-tree, on that other tree as well, instead of jumping from the ledge to 'stick' it. Bonus: there is always the sounds of construction and the 'back up' beep from vehicles, yet there are no vehicles in use, in the NW lumber area. Also, large groups of birds fly up and vanish. Waterfall hide spot: go to where the water falls into the map, by the collapsed road and hummer above. In the back right is a tree. Get just behind the tree, climb the rock and then go prone behind the tree. Good for killstreak use. $$$ Octane: Classic style map, not much hidden parkour. Interactives: look for red 'ghost-masks' as these are breach spots: get close, hold x to breach. If you get hit by the blast it stuns you slightly. Middle of map is a 'container (tractor-trailer trailer)' on its side, breach either end for a random care package inside (only one per match). Not in all game modes. The upstairs wall where it says P(missing A)WN can be breached for a hole to shoot from, this also then allows you to jump from the truck in front of the sign to the roof. The next building, with a blue facade, can be similarly breached. The ezeb gas station can be knocked over by destroying the gas pumps, this will kill anyone near the explosion when it happens. Next to the gas station, climb the white truck to access the roof (also interior ladders). Between the southernmost buildings is a tank. Climb the tank, get on the 2 hour parking sign to jump in window. North side, same corner, jump from bus to doorway on second floor. Southwest: jump from truck into pinkieez second floor. There are a couple more 'climb into second-floor window' spots that are pretty obvious. Corner of Pinkieez, into motel, opening by gas station... Questionable high spot: start in the highest northern corner, walk south towards the ladder. Make left past the container and stop at the low wall with 2 white barrels by the hummer. Climb on the barrels, jump to the corner of the low wall next to you. You can only get on the tiny corner. This offers a high view of that flag area, but you are clearly exposed as well. Happy gaming! Edit: squad advice; don't pick this as squad hq, because you essentially give the human opponent a free care package. Edit 3.22; i keep forgetting this stupid spot that everyone should know: go out of Pinkieez via the upstairs window onto the tractor-trailer 'container'. Run/jump directly into the palm tree straight ahead. You should land on a tiny invisible ledge. Yeah, good times. $$$ Tremor: Note that the map changes slightly with each tremor. At one point a leaking gas line emerges that can be ignited. It will cause some minor harm to players running through it. Edit: it also seems to randomly ignite/go out. (patched?). (patched? Can't get around corner anymore?). More: i keep forgetting this: start in the far west, facing the ladder. Walk towards the ladder, but climb the black vending machine on the right, jump onto the top of the 'Barista' round-topped building for an alternate route up top. Note that you can jump on the edge of a door below, but there is no good reason to. Jump up top (by top of ladder). Look at the fence draped with blue tarps. On either end, you can make your way around the edge. Not often useful, but may be amusing to use at some point. The east side has a couple of thin ledges to pointlessly get on. Finicky spot: go to the south west where the graffiti reads 'we make hornets look CUDDLY'. Go to the leaning pole and orange cones. Just across that alley, get to the edge of the orange/white barriers against the wall. You should be able to catch the edge of the barrier if you jump. You can jump slightly right into the cement also. From here you can view the center entrance, fire exit, and western approach. Drop off, head south and east to the red flare. Go left through the window, note the view of B flag through the debris. By the hospital corner (emergency sign) is a fema truck and some barriers. Look over the barriers, out of map, to spot a tangle of metal (antennas?) that is floating in the air. That's it for now. $$$ Freight: This map is split into east and west with tracks up the middle. $$$ Whiteout: Special care package: satellite fall. $$$ Storm Front: Actionable item: elevator. In the larger building, memorial gardens library, near the sculpture is an elevator (not the large outside sculpture). Hit x to ride between floors. Edit: if you hit this while up top, and the doors are closed, the controls often disappear from your screen and the elevator doesn't come. Just a glitch (still glitched/end of June). Look south, there is a ledge up there, i can not get to it, have never seen anyone on it, let me know if anyone can get to it (without teleporting, as that is cheating). $$$ Siege: Actionable item: movable train car. Activated by a switch in the mine/cave area in a small area/room in the south east end of the mine/cave, right next to the steps leading into the room. Edit: if you put explosives on it, they will detonate when it moves. You can not get on it except for the hitch. It will not kill. You can activate it, run out and lay in front of it so it slides you across the map for a swag kill. Special killstreak: Rocket Strike. This calls in several rockets that hit hard and fast. Worthwhile. Start in south west corner in the water. In front of you was a playground. You can climb the slide, hide in corners jump on walls. No point. Continue east along the southern path until you enter the mine. Look slightly left for a reddish furnace (water bottle, cooking pot, sniper scope on it). Climb it, climb the metal crossbar above it. Get on slanted wall to the left, go up to top, snipe. Walk to the other end of the crossbar, get on pipe, walk to end (not as good as the slanted spot which can see through the mine and the train control room). Continue east, climb the rail car (on its side) to get into the train car control room. Button by the steps. Head slightly west, go north to train car that moves. If you moved the train car, it will be next to a small cart that you can get in. Look west at the suspended pipe (i dubbed it 'the noob tube' because you want to get in it, but then you are a sitting duck, all your childish dreams of sniping unnoticed, get dashed). Walk to the nearest hunk of pipe. Get on the brown barrel to it's left. Jump to the H shaped white pipe support (with no pipe on it). Climb the middle crossbar, climb the left support (you can jump to the right one, but you can't jump on top of the pipe and standing up there is dumb, but for a swag kill), jump into the nube tube and prepare to die. There is a bear up here. Edit: in 'Infected' and 'Safeguard' (game modes), this is blocked off, possibly other modes as well. Note that you can jump into the pipe from the middle crossbar, to save you an extra step. Head east through the waterfall, you can get on the wall, climb over the wall on the east side. Orangey building ahead, mine entrance to your right. [Edit: campy rock by edge of ring around waterfall, near mine entrance. Campy grass by mine entrance] Go to the mine entrance, look east at building. Climb the boxes by the barrels. Note the window, you can see who is in there, you can snipe the mine out of here. Climb up to your left. Obviously you can climb into the window. Less obviously, you can walk the ledge here to the next window (see/shoot through, can't climb through) or follow it out to the palm tree for a fairly decent snipe spot. Climb in the previously mentioned obvious window. Go downstairs. Get on the bar there, you have a great view into the mine through the + window. Head north to the broken stairs, turn around, jump on low hanging remains of second-floor floor. The hole to your left is not bad to sit in to watch this area. From the grassy area that you climbed: note the window that has cement bars, go there, jump to broken wall by steps (north west corner steps). Get to the highest jagged boards, jump into nw corner. You are above the steps and hidden. Edit: you can simply climb the broken wall next to the steps, jump to corner. Drop down, head south past bar, out southern door. Head east, turn north up the stone steps. You can get on the side of the steps and watch over that wall. Head to the east end of the map and we'll make our way along the north, heading west. There are two lobes sticking out of the east side of the map. Get in the larger southern one, face west. Walk west, past the first building, into the sunlight, stop, look north. The low wall can be climbed to get on the terrace on your right, avoiding traps at the ladder. The water pump pipe can be climbed on, then you jump west to the white ledge. Climb into the hole on that wall. You can also jump to this ledge out the hole in the hallway to the north. Instead of climbing in the hole, you could go to the south side (while on that small ledge) and get on a southern low roof, then climb in there. Head up the metal steps to the high point red room, drop out the side. Down here, jump on the scrap, get on the small broken cement nub. Not sure if this would serve any purpose. I can not get up top from out here. Drop down. Head west past the water tower (no fun there) to the palm tree. Climb the crates to get in the building. Edit: By the water tower; just east is a low wall to climb/camp. From the north end of that wall, jump onto the bridge. Go east, jump off other side into mud. Climb the box and jump to get back on the bridge. From right there, get on the bridge wall, climb south into the building (just north of the red room high point). Head north to the edge of the map, turn left (west) and head west until you come to the slanted white broken pipe support. Climb up it, get on sea wall (edge of map) head east to fall into a hole to the lower level. Head west back to slanted support, climb it again. Look south. There is another white pipe support that can be climbed from the orange brick wall for little advantage. Get back on the northern sea wall by the slanted cement support. Head west, you can pass the building on the wall and peer in the windows. Continue west on the sea wall until it ends. Look south. Where the railing is broken, you can climb up from below. Head west to western edge of map (you used to be able to jump out of the map here). Go into the white building to your south. There is a debris pile to stand on to see out the window there. Go out southern end, turn east, turn north. You see a crooked tree. Just past that is a hidey hole on the left for cp calling or killstreak usage. Head east through the broken wall under the broken catwalk. Climb the broken cement, onto furnace onto top area. Fall out of the south side, look west at broken steps. Jump to get up there. Fall off steps. Head east to wall, head north to doorway with spotlight over it. There is a crate to the right to climb up top. I think that's it for Siege. $$$ Warhawk: Actionable items: red skull breach. Stabable fence. Interactive environment: the map gets hit by mortars. Most hit specific buildings, but a few hit the roads. These alter the map slightly, only the road ones affect you by making a slight indent to lay in in a pinch. They will also kill you in the unlikely event that one hits you (may just stun now?). Special killstreak: mortar strike. This does not alter the map. A helicopter flies over the map regularly. Start center north by Porter truck. Getting between the cab and trailer is decent spot to watch those contested steps. To the east is Steffy's diamond lounge which also can watch this area. You can climb the truck. You can then jump to the steps or see/fire into the upstairs rooms. Go through the building with the steps, up the steps. Go out the window onto a ledge. Look right (west) at theater marquee, jump to it. You can jump to the hardware store awning. You can also climb the tank to get on the awning, but this won't allow you onto the marquee. Climb into the hardware store window. Go to the back, there is a red skull breach spot here. Breach it. Go out the back way. Head slightly west, then head south to a rusty car on the right, steps on the left. You can climb the car, get on the fence. From the southern end you can see into the area up the steps that were east of the rusty car. By the steps is a barrel and some pallets. Get on the barrel to jump to the top of the steps (if there is an ied or motion sensor at the bottom of the steps, i guess). Hide under the steps. Come out of there, head south past station wagon (old car). By now a mortar should have taken out the fire hydrant. Continue south to a burning car. There is a dumpster to hide in for killstreaks. Head back north by the hydrant. Get on the tractor trailer in the road. Note the hiding spot behind the cab. At the back of the truck (on top of it), jump to the Fixit sign. Go around the corner to enter the sniper loft through the window. Look out the window, head east to the iron gate which can be stabbed open (looks like the south western one from frieght). Inside Steffy's lounge you can hide behind the bar for killstreak use. I think that's it for this map. Edit: for lulz, you can find the 10 garden gnomes hidden in the map. Most must be found in spectator mode, though a few can be seen in map. Stealth Nerf: often i would start a round facing the hardware store. I would run over there, aim through the squiggly window and get some early kills. Today i did that and the window is black. I went outside and there is a board over the window. Seriously? This is what you felt needed to be fixed in this game? I'm absolutely stunned that this was patched. Yeah, that hardware store window was really breaking games./sarcasm. $$$ Sovereign: Special killstreak: Sabotage. This causes explosions along the tank assembly line. Edit: along the assembly line and under it are orange packs of explosives with the ghosts mask on it, these explode (end edit). This then fills the building with fire suppressing gas which acts like smoke, so bring your thermal or tracker scopes. It dissipates after a short time. There are glass ceilings to call in cp's through. There is a moving tank assembly line that you can sort-of ride. Go to the start of the tank assembly line (west). Head east to the first yellow barrier, drop to the right side of the line. Wait for the tank to arrive. When it stops, get on it, jump on the canon part when it comes down, stay where the turret connects to the larger part. You can ride this all the way across the map if you move slightly as it tilts back and forth during the welds. This is not worth the effort. Get on it as stated. As you get to the middle building (Soberano in big letters on the side), jump to the second floor loft. From here you can get on either blue wall too, for what that's worth. On either side of the Soberano building is stairs. On either side, you can climb stuff to get on the stairs, should be obvious enough. On either side of the Soberano building, you can climb up to the center of the walkway. West side small yellow vehicle (s-fly 900), get on, jump to room with the white windows, on the thing by the side, climb white window room. Besides the catwalk, you can walk on the obvious path on the ducts. East side of Soberano building: climb the table and crates by the yellow garbage can to get on the walkway. A few things to get on pointlessly if you poke around, a couple of climbing shortcuts. Edit: riding the tank can make you do some odd teleports; appearing through the walls or in the black/yellow striped area. So don't be surprised if something odd happens to you. Edit 3.21. From the overhang/loft of the middle Soberano building, if you look at the building, each side is red with black near the corners. You can jump to a ledge in front of the black area on either side. Not great. Also be sure to try to jump on the tank as it comes by for interesting effects sometimes. Note that this map has lots of corners to hide in, many require you to climb/jump on something, then jump to the corner. There is too much little stuff to bother posting, poke around. Special area: go to the west where the tank assembly line starts. Head east on the assembly line until you get to the wood box above the blue wall on your right. Climb that box. You are between the ladder and the assembly line with poles with red lights on top of them. The easiest way is to stand on the second light pole from the wall. Wait for the tank to come by. Once it stops and the turret comes down, jump on the rear of the tank by the red rectangles. 1. Simply ride the back of the tank over the b flag area for a stealth attack. Be sure to check the balcony above b flag. 2.a. As soon as the tank lifts up from where you jumped on it, it will begin moving forward. Jump to the light fixture to your right (facing east, the direction the tank is moving). You can jump to the left one, but the tank will push you off on it's next pass. So, sit there, watch b. In hc, probably nobody will find you up there. Note that there are other lights along the assembly line, but i could not get on them. 2.b. Cheatier; From the light fixture. Wait for the tank to come back. As it lowers down, fall onto it. You will be trapped between it and the wall. As it moves forward, you will hit the barrier and teleport south through the wall to the platform there. $$$ Overlord: Interactives: two large doors in the center building can be closed off (by b flag). Okay. Start at south east spawn behind es-01 comando (command and control [c&c]): to your left (west) climb the army hummer, jump to the wall, climb up top. This keeps you from being shot on the side ladder. Note the views of windows and the ac unit to move around/hide around. Fall off the back where we started. See where it says area-01? Get on that box, jump to railing to your right (not real easy) to avoid the stairs. Head to the south west building (es-01 estacion de bombeo/explosives station). Go in the back door. Look inside past the two windows to the yellow garbage cans. It is a hidey hole that watches this doorway/corner traffic. Head up the westernmost path until you see the satellite dish in front if you, transformers and cactus to your right. There is a low rope to keep you from going off map. Jump over it, get behind the rock. You can contextually lean around the side by the edge of the map to see anyone on the path coming down. Head north to the small nw building (part of the inteligencia contraria/ counter intelligence). On the southern side, by the tank. You can run up the hill with difficulty. If you get stuck in place, back up a smidgen, jump forward. It can take someone by surprise, but isn't always stealthy or easy. This whole area is largely ignored anyway. Go back to the tank. Climb the tank. Jump to the roof by the ladder. Drop off of the other side. Climb back up using the green transformer/electrical box. Head east to the large truck by the large door (uav inside the building). Go in that door. This door, and the one directly ahead, are the actionable doors. Climb the center of the uav. Looking at either actionable door, the controls for it are to the left of the door and only in the inside (unlike most doors in this game). Check them out, return to uav. Climb uav, get on the rear of it, climb up top. You can't jump to the brown board (wing?) But you can fall down from it onto the uav, should you care to. Edit: where you climbed up from the uav, turn left, as you near the door, get on the rail to your right. Next to the door, you can get on a very tiny ledge in front of the window there (end edit). Above the uav, where you climbed up, head right (west). The back-right (north) window leads outside by the tank you climbed. The first two windows on the left (south) lead to a low roof. Get out there. Head directly south (straight out the window) into the sun. Turn around. See the stuff on your right? You can climb that to get back up to the windows. See the green crates to your left (while still out in the sun)? Yup, climb them as well to get back up. Head way over to the north east. By building 03 garaje (garage). Between this building and the large center building (the main inteligencia contraria building) is a hummer. Get on it, jump to stairs of middle building. On the east side of this building, this catwalk is a place to watch out for or hang out in. Everything else should be obvious camp spots, sniper windows, hidey holes. Happy gaming! Additional: go in the underground bunker. Face the ladder as if to climb it. In the corner to your left, climb up the green boxes for a hidey spot. $$$ Stonehaven: Actionable item: the castle portcullis (the big gate to the castle). Shoot it, it drops, it kills (however unlikely) this is unlike other doors in the game that stop if you get in the way. Use explosives to make a hole in it if you wish to get through. Someone said you could shoot it enough to breach it also, i haven't tried. I threw a throwing knife at it 20+ times to no effect. What to say? The entire map is a spot to hold. I'll point out some areas that aren't well known, but really, you can hide in any corner or travel any area. Usually the west/southwest is the busiest part of the map. Start in the nw corner. Walk east along the river. The second house has a ladder. Up there you can see/be seen from half the map or more. Left is a northern area that gets little attention. Continue to the well. On your left is an often overlooked sniper hole above the river. Head south past the well, stop at the low stone wall, look over it to the arch bridge slightly right, over the stream. Go there. Turn around, look at the burning house. On your left is the arch-walk bridge, on your right is a low wall. Jump onto the low wall (not the easiest, not hard). Carefully jump up the wall, jump east to the broken stone arch, climb up by trucks for a surprise shortcut. Not great, not useless. Head back to the well. Go slightly west, go North by the house with the ladder, over the stream, through the wall. Head east (towards the satellite) until near the end of the wall on your right. Note the sniper loft here, often overlooked. Drop east out of the sniper loft, land on low wall, head west to campy corner. Cross the makeshift bridge (satellite debris) over the steam, head east on the road through the debris to the stone mound with a strip of debris in front of it. Climb the debris, get on mound. This is a lie down sniper spot that is quite good. Note the rear murder holes to get this bastard. Slightly south west is ruins that are also quite good. And just south of that is a stone cabin sans roof that is good too. This building has two signs: one points to the castle (Sakisyan Castle) one points out the seaside route. Go back to the flat sniper rock by the debris (with the murder hole windows). You can climb the wall with the windows. You will have a great view, not many will be looking that way, but you will be an easy mark if someone does look that way. Get on the debris, walk the lower edge of it up to the highest point (says united states). Jump to the center ruins up top. You can get on any wall here except for the two tallest semi-t-shaped columns. There are views, hidey holes, avenues of travel. Poke around a bit here. At every stop, look at what you can see from there, where you were before, where you know people travel. Head to the far east cliffs. This is a great place to lay down and snipe or call in cp. You can even shoot the people that peer over the sniper loft above. The uneven ground shields you from people coming through the castle. Climb the ladder to the sniper loft. If you want to look over the side, hide amongst the stones to the right, even with incog, you will be quite visible otherwise. Up here, your best bet is to lie down and watch the inner courtyard instead. Head down the steps into the castle proper. On your right is the overwatch room. Note the broken ledge as you can get on it from that room. On your left (still in the inner courtyard) is a hidey hole for camping or killstreak use. Head towards the (portcullis) gate, go left before it, go up and out to the cliff. As you exit through the hole to the cliff, note the small area to your left as it is an effective corner camp spot. Head west. Look north as you get past the castle. Jump on the lone rock (with the Sakisyan Castle sign). Looking west up that road, the last part of that house has an open door and window for sniping out of. Due to its location it often gets looked past. Not a bad camp spot, so beware. Still on the rock, look slightly north of the road, there is a blind camp spot between the stone building and the ground rock formation. On the north side of the ground rock is a low ledge. Along the front of the castle are hidey corners to beware. Back to the nw corner where we started: the first building to the east has stairs to get up top. Go near it, find the red tractor. From the tractor, get on that nearest wall of the house and jump right up there for a surprise visit. Lastly, go in the spawn building in the nw corner. Get on the barrels by the blue chair. Jump east to the lowest part of the wall. This gives you a semi-hidden view south down the road. New: just some stuff; start at the south east high point of the castle. Just above the ladder, jump into the nearest thin window. This is a great little spot that is a little tricky to land on. Nearly impossible cheatie spot: same place, above the stairs, not the ladder, run along the right edge above the steps, strafe jump right into that window, next to the archway. If you manage that, you are amazing. You can get behind the stone wall, clearly not intended. (credit psfreak33 video. I haven't succeeded in getting this to work, may even be patched). Head through castle, as soon as you get out front, go right up the dead end steps. Jump into window ledge. No real value, just silly. Head back through the castle and go out the portcullis (large gate that falls), turn right. You can climb that first broken wall to a sniper spot of questionable value. Head north, then east so you get back to the dead end steps. Head north to the 'explore Lord Dobbie' sign. Slightly right of that, climb there to a ledge that watches the castle from behind that wall. Drop down, head east through the roofless building to the center eastern building. Stand by the south side window (can see the crashed station through it). Look east, there are 2 large brown stones. Slightly left of them is a smaller stone on the dirt path. Walk directly over that, fall onto whitish stones over cliff. Fairly well hidden here. Jump to get back up. Enjoy! $$$ Chasm: (pronounced kaz'um, only say chazum if you want to be wrong on purpose for teh laughs). Actionable items: use explosives to drop half of the bus off of the cliff. Use guns, explosives to drop the hanging elevator. First one floor down, then out of play. Northeast corner, north of the bus and protruding tree. Just outside of the 'walkway' building (picture with 1984) looking towards the bus, run-jump onto the cement slab, aim for the left higher corner (minor challenge). From there, jump north onto the broken wall (real easy), walk north until your soldier gets jumpy by the I-beams. Jump up onto the left of the two. You could make your way slightly higher up this wall. Instead, jump to that column with the smoke riding behind it (it hangs over the edge). People from the nw will see you, otherwise your gonna see them first, like under the bus, coming out of the building, and the space between there around the walkway...i fell off of the map, now i have to run back there....okay. You can drop down and walk around on the steel beams protruding from the map here. Edit: you can jump up the side of the broken wall by running/jumping at the middle of the west side, to avoid the harder jumps. You can also jump to the higher column with the broken top. Head south to the bus. Use explosives to drop half of the bus. Just south of that, a palm tree hangs off of the map, you can go out on it. From out on the tree, look back at the map. Between the water and the sewage is a subway/train car. Next to it is a broken column. If you walk up top to the turquoise pole above it, drop carefully onto the cement column, then you can jump to the torn edge of the subway car. No value in it, just saying it's there. Fun to torture bots that only have a knife, but i digress... Head back to 1984, look out that window. Go out onto the ledge there, you can walk to the walkway and past it. On the other side, you can get on this ledge from the ground or the windows. When you get on/off the walkway, use this method: ww>ledge, squat under crossbar. Ledge>ww, jump crossbar. On the west side of the ww, go in the windows, view the elevator. (edit); you can shoot the wires or use explosives to drop it down one level. Then you must use explosives to get it to drop off of the map (lethal to anyone on it). From that area, note the windows on the nw edge of the map, both floors, as people can hang out of map in them for decent cover. Go to the windows, top floor, western end. Head directly south, past sprinkler, to open hole. On your right, by the office doors, is a ledge that is good. There is one of lesser value one floor below. From the hole that is south of the nw windows: you are overlooking the bus stop, restaurant behind it, the oft-contested donut shop (Ronnie James Dio tribute? R.i.p.). You may jump to the turquoise lightpost for a swag kill. See the bus stop right ahead (now it's party hour)? Note that you can run from the north wall behind you to the bus stop, climb it, through the window into the restaurant, out the other side window to cut straight across the map. By the bus stop is a burnt truck (Huey's moving and storage). Climb it to jump onto the nearby bus or onto the awning covering the stairs for a surprise avenue of travel. Check out the chili and donuts building as it is often busy here, so note that camp spots and various views of the approaches to this area. Especially the 'order window' inside 'food processing area' (the normal word for it, is being blocked by the censor due to forum spam) and back alley, and the bus along the edge of the map behind this place. Also check out the various shadows outside the building that simply don't care where the sun actually is. I think the palm tree shadow was moved to make the area in it's shadow better for lying behind for an unexpected angle of attack. The road has a bit of a lip to lay behind/peer over. Leaving the donut shop along the south face, note the campy area by big hitters for assaulting the donut shop/sniping under the bench/through the restaurant. The southernmost tip of the map had an area that gets lonely and is defensible for cp/ killstreak use. Edit: In tdm it's dead, in Domination, it is B Flag and sees plenty of action, possibly other modes as well. Head to the east, by that protruding palm. Look for the shit river. Walk up it into the sewer. Note the campy little room. Note the campy area just outside the room by the escalator. Lastly, we are in the subway. Note the tunnel opposite the escalator as it leads out to the southern tip/cp area. The subway is not usually a big battle ground. This makes it a great travel zone or place to prey on unwary travelers. Heading west in subway, the middle escalator goes up to the bus stop (it's party hour). At the far end the subway, those steps lead to the donut shop. But down in the subway by these steps is a buried subway car that is campy. Get next to it or climb it and get on the crossbeam above it. Low traffic, but effective. Thoughts: this map isn't very large, but appears to be because of the multiple tiers and grand scale. There are plenty of angles and corners to find, have fun. Additional: east side, above the protruding tree is a dry fountain. From there head west into the building. Pass the reception desk by the red striped wall so that you are next to the subway escalator. Get on the low wall, jump on top of the 'LA Subway' sign for a campy spot. $$$ Flooded: Another map that looks bigger than it is at first. Actionable items: two vehicles in the central river will submerge if you get on them. On the western end the box truck will go under but has no real affect. By the walkway towards the east is a bus that one end will submerge so you can run up it onto the walkway or wait on it for a lower path. The sw corner is an easily defensible low traffic area for cp calling in or holding with your team. Start there, head out the eastern door, take the left, go down stairs, head straight to wall with flowers on top. You can climb it. Obviously it's a path between those structures. Look east, it says entrada (enter) in red letters. Note the sneaky window by the palm tree there. Climb above the window into the parking garage. Make first left into awning by river. You can climb up here and at the other end of the awning. The submergeable truck is right there. At some parts of the river, you can wade in and be fairly hidden. Across from the awning is an orangey ramp. You can get out the window on an edge for no good reason or go right (east) to the second lamp post for another useless spot to get on. Above and east of the orangey ramp is a camp spot. Go up the ramp and make rights until you get there. From this camp spot, head east out the double doors. Get on the curved railing. Note the path down below that is hidden, you can't climb up from below. From the curved railing, face the doors that you came through, jump on the right door, jump on the left door for a lesser known view across the map. Go into the next building east. Down the blue/yellow hall with art, make first left through open reddish doors. Note the giant hole in the floor. You can walk the edges of it. You can drop down partway onto some broken t-bar ceiling and camp between floors (good t-bar ceiling couldn't hold a man for long, let alone this bent, unsupported section of crumbly tiles and thin aluminum [aluminium to my metric friends], it's a miracle!). Drop into the water, turn and face the miracle tiles. Jump on the small grey shelf to your right, jump onto the miracle tiles. Note the weird water effect when you move back and forth looking down from here. Drop down, make left (south) to window by river. If you get in the window sill an drop back into the room, you often get a dramatic splash. Go to north east corner. There is a door near the end of the lower walkway that can be dropped on from above for a hidden corner camp. Jump into the hole above you so you are at the end of the upper walkway. Note the semi-submersible bus halfway down the walkway. Check it out, come back here. Walk west on white tiles into the room, go to window. Another pointless lightpost to jump on (look how cool i am, killing you from mah lightpost, pew pew pew). It gets worse: drop off of your post, go east to next lamppost. This is uncooperative; get on the slab, by the column, by the lightpost. With difficulty, get on the left (western) part of the lamppost. Jump to tiny ledge on the wall. Doubt you'll make it in a match, you'll be easy to see if anyone looks in your direction, but there it is. The north east corner is also fairly safe for cp use or lay along the low wall up top to use killstreaks. Edit: from the semi-submersible bus in the east, look north at a square drain pipe on the side of the building. You can climb up there to a sniper ledge with a bear. $$$ Strikezone: Last and least (in size, i think) Doctor Strikezone and Mister Groundzero, two maps in one. Fyi: the destroyed version is way up in the air (unseen) above the regular version. I watched a video of some guy who did a knife-jump out of a private match, found a spot to fall out, then fell to the regular map below. Interactive environment/special killstreak: call in K.E.M. Strike from a care package to dead the enemies (i assume your team also in hc) and level the map, resulting in a not quite entirely different map. Spots: there's not much to say, it's a very 'black ops' style arena-map with force fields to keep you at bay. There is an obvious truck (with ladders!) That gets you to an upper level, a giant statue by the truck where you can hang out between his legs like genitalia, and you can jump between the truck and the statue (omg, fake enthusiasm!)! Edit: in the northeast, look for the signs; Greenway Park, Home Plate, Pro Shop. Under the Pro Shop sign is a ledge. climb the barrels to get on it and see through the pro shop. After the K.E.M. Strike the map changes, but is even more restrictive and one-dimensional in design. Though you now have the option to jump to your fiery doom, should you be so inclined. Edit: post-k.e.m.; if you go to the middle hallway leaving 'big hitters' you can climb the stuff on your left, get on the highest point by the door. Squat and camp there until you get revenged upon. Happy gaming all! That was a lot of typo fixing and fun. Please add anything useful or amusing or whatever. I hope this helps folk out. Peace. Happy gaming!
  10. That's really strange to me. All i read about and what i hear from friends is 'unplayable due to lag'. And my own experience. The reason is this, most likely: the game will work well on excellent infrastructure. I live in an affluent area (north Jersey) so most likely we had internet infrastructure before many other places, which means we now have some of the oldest which does not work for this game. Instead of connecting me to nearby good pings, it finds me a great connection to Zimbabwe or China at huge ping. I can play bo2 zombies with friends a few states away with almost no lag. But ghosts is horrendously laggy usually. When it isn't, it plays fantastically. But I've read from programmers to cod pros saying this is a huge issue, and given all of my local friends are calling it unplayable, it kind of sucks. If their affluent players don't get good service, it will hurt activations pocket. (I'm a poor boy, fyi. Just born/raised here). If this game consistently plays well for yous, I'm jealous. It is a really good game when the connection isn't crap.
  11. Hi and welcome back. I own this game now (I'm a post-Christmas noob). I'm gonna try to answer some of those questions, but i can't view them as i post... First off, nobody is playing this game due to a noob programming fail which causes the most lag ever in a cod game. I already have more kills than almost all of my friends that bought it release day. 1 cod friend plays extinction, none but me play the online mp due to extreme lag. Maps are amazing, but some are becoming troll maps already. I owned the game for less than two hours and already had to start backing out of warhawk, octane, and fright (wh is the worst, the map is decent, the community is trolls). Blitz is a great addition. It's like tdm with a reason/place to camp, and a place for the runners to run to. Don't forget to do a dolphin slide into the goal! Kniving works now but is really wonky in execution. Ghosts did to shotguns, lethals, tacticals, what bo2 did to kniving. They are dead. Killstreaks are really weak in general. Dog and ammo crate are the big winners, with some juggernauts. Dogs are bizarre in functionality, you will never get killed from less than 10+ feet away by them. They take 3 sniper shots, 6 shield bashes, or 25 hb bullets to kill. They are immune to rear stabs, will die to one front stab if you miraculously get it. If you see a player and a dog, kill the dog first/counterintuitive. The servers are halved between one and 360, resulting in 'fetching online profile' and p2p hosts (host-screw results in constant host migrations). When you shoot someone, there isn't a talk between your xbox, the host, the player that you are shooting. It's just you-host. So on the reviving end, you die real quickly with little to no warning. On the giving end, it doesn't take 11-15 bullets before the enemy takes damage like it did in bo2: they die quickly (when it isn't total laggy shit due to a noob netcode error). More lag than any other cod: the code for the game was dissected. Of all of the worlds internet infrastructure was amazing, this game would play amazing. It is not, so most people experience more lag in this than any other cod. Instead of finding 50ms ping games and then finding the best games. It searches for best connections, ignoring hubs that previously showed a little toughness, and puts you in games with 5000ms ping (for 5 seconds of lag). If you leave the game, it tends to return you over and over to the same horrid connection lobby. Yea, racking up game loss'. Game pros and programmers alike are confused as to how they made such a nooby mistake...presumably they will patch it soon, probably with the map pack update. Assuming they tried this purposefully, i can't imagine how much revenue they have lost. I could guys that they wanted the lan cod 'olympics' (whatever it's called) to run beautifully, but at the expense of must of their player base? Seems like the viewing and attendance would not make up for lost profits. Again, out of all of my cod friends, one plays extinction, and I'm the only one playing the mp. Happier thoughts: no nuketown/firing range garbage. Cool map-specific killstreaks. Great maps, no more 3-lane tiny Trollarch failmaps. While the online is laggy garbage, the game has only glitched about 1% as much as bo2 (i enjoyed bo2 a lot, I'm just saying: every single game experienced programming errors, every single game). Bots: suck at most modes (they can't watch a bomb site or flag) besides tdm/ffa, but are fun to play. This time around, they abide to restrictions, do you can do knife only, shotgun only, throwing knife only games. (In bo1/2 the bots ignored any restrictions, only players were effected). Sadly, no 3 or 4 player offline splitscreen, such as bo1/2 did have. Hey, this mattered to me... The squad point system works well, at first they seem hard to come by, then they just start rolling in. Since i didn't prestige in bo2, i can't unlock lots of stuff, which was a stupid idea obvs. None of that here. Bad early issue: you almost never get to pick the soldier you want for the map you get. There is no way to choose a soldier when thrown into a game in progress. You must use the currently chosen soldier. When you get one totally unlocked it well be fine, but early on, not getting to choose a soldier is stupid, straight up stupid. Then, given than you must leave most matches due to extreme lag, skipping, freezing due to the netcode idiocy, and hosts dashboarding, you will almost never get to pick the soldier you want for any given map. Total fail. Lastly a semi fix for the horrid netcode error: average lag in this game is 10+ feet (about 3x what we saw in bo2), if you see players/lobbies where there is more than this, note the players name that killed you because you are connected terribly to them. Leave game, go to friends (silver xbox button), scroll to the right to recent players, submit player review, avoid player. After doing this about 10 or so times the games i got put in are all 10 feet of lag, no more 30+ feet of lag due to the programming idiocy. When it works it it's a great experience. Be patient, they will fix it, I'm sure they are losing millions right now... Happy gaming!
  12. I played it once with two friends and a random. We won it. My concern is replay value. Until i own it and okay a bunch, i won't know. More interesting than special ops. And i love that there is no story; i like games without provided story. Like if I played football; it is a game to be a game. We don't need backstory as to why they are on the gridiron.
  13. Remember that any damage builds up, so the sensor grenade pop or even a shock charge are doing lasting damage. Same if you hit a guy and he gets away: he us still that damaged. Adjusting difficulty is as simple as laying bigger maps (versus bots) as they have an advantage at distance. They do the worst in up close battles. Carrier is as bad as nuke town for getting spawn sniped at start. Also, you could handicap yourself by playing with low quality weapons. Note that any restrictions that you put in the game (like restricting c4) will bee ignored by the bots (unless this got patched at some time). Be sure to play several games before you judge the game mode as you may win several and feel out its easy, or they may poop on you a few games, making you judge the mode harshly. It really has been quite fun. Most fun with at least one friend... You could do 9 round games, but anyone losing badly after several rounds will lose interest. 5 is usually engaging enough, but not torture if your just waiting to lose another round; you can still knock a good team down. I hope someone enjoyed this and happy gaming!
  14. Hello dead forum. Try this out to breathe new life into this game: Beast (83457) Mode: Tdm: maps; small to medium work best. Nuketown is a little unbalanced in that some teams are isolated, others spawn looking at each other. Large maps draw out the last kill time... Tdm rules: time unlimited, score unlimited, teams 6 (for 1 man teams), 5 (for 2 man teams). Highest score at end wins. Tdm settings: kill = 3 points, deaths = 2 (-2 really), headshot = 1 point. 1 life, 5 rounds. General: turn off explosive and scorestreak delays. The game is too short, plus there are so few players. Health: no regeneration, friendly fire on. Custom: i allow 17 (max). Preset: i often make these up, suit to taste. One emp/launcher guy is a good idea. Bots: depends on number of human players. If by yourself or splitscreen, 5 bots for 6 1-man teams, 8 for 2 human, 5 2-man teams or 8 enemy, one friendly bot for 5 2-man teams. Adjust accordingly for number of humans/bots in your lobby. I always use hardened bots. Camping: not with human opponents. If only bots, then camping for the last kill is acceptable. Otherwise, 10-15 seconds max in any spot. If you try to camp, you will not get enough kills to win. If the last players camp, the game is ruined/boring for the deceased. Play honorably, record the game if you can't trust your xbl friends. Notes: Claymore's and shock charges and bb's hang around after you die, you may get afterlife kills. Sensor grenade is great for finding last kill. Uav too. Bots shoot most things out of the sky, so be mindful of that. Use any scorestreaks, but you must aim low as there won't be that many kills. I usually use uav, hk drone, care package. Call in the cp near the end of a round, use scorestreaks at start of round for kills, or uav to find last guy. You only get one life per round, so you must be careful, but you also need to get kills, so no lollygagging or camping. If you kill your teammate, it will not cost you points. By surviving the round, you save 2 points by not dying. The round-ending killcam shows the last kill of the (currently) winning player, not last kill (unless that player is winning). Suit to taste... If i recall other important bits, I will post them. Ask questions if needed. A round or two can really swing the game, so don't panic if you get shut out the first couple of rounds.
  15. If solo and not getting past ten, an easy way to train is simply walk around the dig site, hop down the mud tank path at either end. Kill a few zombies, let the new ones join the crowd, kill a few. Sample start: round 1 stab all but 1. Activate generator 1. End round when it is done. Round 2, pool them up downstairs. When you have most pooled up, grab the x2 from the reward chest (for activating g1), shoot and stab (and pray that f'ing nuke doesn't ruin your game, if it does, start over) all of round 2 (you should have 4-4.5k points). Start round 3, stay by the door to g2 in the start room. When pressed, open it and fight as you slowly make your way towards g2. Before the round ends, open to g4, get jugger (absolutely necessary in a game this buggy). Use dug up guns until you get a staff or stg44. Wall guns and the box should be rarely used in this map until you get set up. The ballista is a 1 shot to the noggin through 6. By seven, either finish a staff or buy the stg (in church proper, in the crazy place, in dig site). Easy run: forget staves, get gramophone, get wind disk, open crazy place. Run in there without the walls falling (never grab the crystal) for an easy 40 rounds. Good luck.
  16. Sadly, this its the same issue that i had with bo; the last map was so buggy. I loved origins, now i haven't played it hardly at all due to bugs. Bo2 mp and zombies are always losing track of where players/zombies are and it's difficult not to be cranky about it.

I was looking at cove: By the crashed plane you can jump onto some of the crates and actually get out beyond the safe area a little. Nobody expects you out there, so even though you are visible, it's not the first place they look. Cold blooded would help. Right near the plane on the beach, there is a palm tree floating in the water. Get up against that and you are fairly hidden. Find the small raft at the edge of the water. Crouch and walk into the water, next to the rock by the raft. You can get fairly well hidden from sight there. Use cb. From the beach, behind the plane, look right. There will be a giant rock right by the water (near the floating palm tree. If you lay on it and watch the arch, you will be well hidden except for the plane area, you can be seen from there. Start: by plane, run slightly left of plane, shoot folk in archway across from cockpit for first blood. Start other side. Run towards plane, stop by rock looking into side of plane, aim there for first blood.
  18. I only played it for a while on release night. Maps are the best since mw2. Guns come up a little slower and have a bit more recoil, but unsurprisingly, we have hit detection again once you actually manage to aim at them. So i have very little experience with it, but most likely it will once again trump the latest Treyarch effort, as is the recognized pattern so far.
  19. The plethora of bugs/glitched deaths really hurt this map. If they cleaned up the functionality, my only real complaint is that the stab/punch weapon is either: 1. Too frustrating to get early enough, or 2. It needs to last longer/more rounds for all of the annoyance factor of getting it. Also, there is just too much overall annoyance. Take filling the boxes for example: having the robots come randomly, not even predictably while trying to fill them, and having them need more souls than you can get in a round before 10 is either bad (intentional) programming or bad (sloppy) programming.
  20. I believe these two are the same issue: players not showing up on screen (not lag, i mean not showing up at all) + the game misrepresenting my location in kc and theater (again, not lag, complete misrepresentation of location). This was uncommon in bo, happened once that i noticed in mw3, and is nearing common in bo2. Disclaimers: I'm not rage posting, i have not even played today. I have over 20k kills/deaths, I know the game. I'm 44 seeking answers, not a child posting nonsense to troll people. I have used a camera to record discrepancies, i will not provide video. If you're a 'pix or it didn't happen' person, please back out now as you will be of no help. I am just genuinely curious as to why these constant glitches occur. I have upgraded my internet, replaced my xbox, experienced the same results at friends houses (with fios internet and new xbox as well), plus human witnesses. Examples: staring at an entranceway, one witness + camera: uav shows red dots heading that way. Nobody comes outside. Killcam shows someone casually wander out, eventually notice me, shot me. Never appeared on my screen. On Takeoff (Takeo fast forward): I'm outside, I'm in a firefight with a guy, we fail, he goes behind cover to reload, i toss c4 behind his cover. As soon as it clears his cover (about 30 feet away), i run into the building behind me, double tap x and die to my c4. Killcam: i am inside that building the whole time, i occasionally raise my gun towards the wall, but never fire. I then throw c4 on the wall in front of me, walk up to it. Stand there for a couple seconds and then detonate it, killing myself. What causes this? Why is this so common in bo2?
  21. I'm a solo player mostly. The majority of ee's in zombies seen like random busy work. But doing the ee in origins with 2 friends was a real pleasure. You had to fought in certain spots, upgrade the punch, get rid of the walls in tcp. Otherwise, my first turned game: this mode is crap (imo) to play unless you play with friends, then it is hilarious. This game is so buggy (campaign, mp, and zombies) and yet i love this game. I wish we could take this games overall look, iw hit detection, and maps from mw2 or ghosts... That would be sweet.
  22. 1. It's just a game. 2. It's the journey, not the destination. Had enough journey? Do something else. 3. Work the next day is more important, sadly. 4. I'm 44, after 9 hours of Buried, my hands hurt. I'm stiff from laying in the same spot. 5. 30+ minutes per round of zombies loses it's fun. Winning zombies for me is getting to the point where fun becomes chore then leaving. Some maps are hard enough that i have a highest round. Some are so easy that i simply don't have enough time, nor desire, to continue for as long as possible. I'm ocd, so i understand your obsessive view, but understand this: you are obsessive, don't expect to understand others who are not. The people who get sick of zombies after an hour or two are normal. We are the weird ones; playing a video game for more than a quarter of a day at a time... Edited out eggnog/ate/do as they made this post make much less sense.
  23. 2. I threw a sensor grenade into the center area of Slums, nobody registers. I run into the area, get killed by a guy in the open,i can see my sensor grenade on the ground between us in the kc. He had no 'avoidance' perks like cold blooded (lightweight, toughness, engineer). Why would he not register on the map? It was not a spawn point... 3. Several gwk's have shown the last guy taking 16 hitmarkers before dying. Why would the gwk show 16 hitmarkers? 4. After someone destroys my c4, i can't scavenger another until i double tap x, even though it is gone. Why? 4a. Throw c4, hit x over 100 times. It never explodes. Why? (i wasn't killed, it wasn't hacked). 4b. I throw c4 on a wall. When someone comes near, i double tap x. Nothing happens. According to theater, my c4 just disappears at that point. Why? 4c. I throw c4, hit a guy in the face for a hitmarker, blow it up on his chest. He is fine, kills me. He doesn't take damage from the blast, doesn't have fj. Why did he take no damage? 4d. Sometimes i can throw c4 and blow it so fast that it kills me because it is so close. Most times, it can travel for 50+ feet while i hit x repeatedly and it goes off eventually. Why the discrepancy? More to come. Answer any that you can make sense of, some of these stump me.
  24. How to cock ksg faster? Is it fast hands? When i was getting the shotguns done, i noticed that many ksg users were able to cock the gun in half the time that i did. What does that? Example: i shot guy, he shot at me and was able to rechamber and fire before me, even though i shot first. Or is that some lag artifact? Thanks.
  25. Like any class it does take skill to know how to use it well. M1216: way too easy. R870: almost too easy. S12: fairly easy. Ksg: zero skill, only luck. If you can aim, you will hate this gun. It really shows how bad connection based games can be. This is the only shotgun that handicaps you.
