  1. I thinks you guys just made something beautiful.
  2. It was this interplay that made me absolutely love the O4. I really miss the days of Rictofen yelling at Dempsey, I really do.
  3. There's no reason a Zombie CoD game couldn't still have the same exact MP mode. Only difference would be that its heavily zombie themed maps, weapons, killstreaks, and perks. BO3s MP looks like it has Star Wars force abilities, so including experimental weapons and gadgets from Zombies into MP wouldn't be a big stretch. And the MP sides could be 935 soldiers vs Majestic 12 soldiers or something like that. Even random customizable survivors vs bio hazard troops. Instead of dogs killstreak, we could unleash hellhounds or even sprinter zombies. The core of what MP mode could still be there so those fans would still get what they want. And the campaign doesn't need to be about the story we've been discovering, but just a small part of a side story occurring during it. A campaign that evolved around the world BO2 set up. Let us play out the events of Broken Arrow, survive the Moon nukes, fight against the Flesh as they try to take cities over, and fend of zombies and 115 creatures while fighting soldiers. Basically create a stand alone campaign that doesn't ruin the story Zombie mode set up, but lets us play out something small that's been introduced in the background of the mode with little detail. I'm not arguing that it couldn't be done, I would actually love a zombies centric multiplayer mode. What I'm trying to argue is that an entire zombies themed shooter is something I don't think they could appeal to the casual cod gamer, the people who buy the cod game every year solely for it's largely unchanged multiplayer experience. I think having the option for the zombie fanatics to buy the zombie map on it's own for let's just say 5 bucks isn't hurting anyone. Not everybody wants the complete package. That would make sense, but I don't see Activision willing to lose a profit like that. It's the same argument for having 3 distinct sections of the game, the map packs provide content for both of the online modes that people play well beyond release. Though the idea of releasing zombie maps separately for a lower price intrigues me because that means we could potentially get more maps over the course of the season if the zombies team was willing (though I think this could be split between zombies and campaign teams for more people to work on said maps).
  4. It isn't in the intro. It makes sense for this to be the EE song, it is a new song that was made for Shadows of Evil, it has references to the map and it was in the beta files along with all of those perk jingles and Hidden Content Is there not an instrumental version playing in the background to the intro? At least for part of it and not the whole thing? I could've sworn there was. There is? Give me a second to take a listen. Edit: No there is just a jazz music score, not this song. Oh also, this is going to really seal the deal for people... Hidden Content Well shame on me for generalizing jazz music and not realizing the difference.
  5. But it already is in the map? Why are people having such a hard time of believing this song is in the map? I know it is, technically just being in the intro already makes it "in the map". I'm trying to look at it from the standpoint of we're not actually completely sure everything from the PC beta files made it into the final game. I was just trying to point out how every song featured in a trailer (and intro) for a map does make it into the map itself. Though in retrospect I guess it is kind of silly to argue this since we do know for a fact it's in there. It isn't in the intro. 6. Seamless transition between the 3 modes while keeping the party intact is probably the best news I've heard about the game yet. I can't describe enough how annoying it was switching between multiplayer and zombies all the time in BO2 and having to put parties back together especially when some people have bunk connections and only certain people can host and oh my god was it irritating. I think their main reasoning for having zombies bundled with mutliplayer stuff in DLC is to basically provide a more complete experience with the DLC to justify it's price. I've seen a lot of complaints about DLC over the years, a lot of which being it doesn't provide enough content across the board for a certain game and you're paying too much just to add on to one aspect of the game. Plus the truth is there is a great deal of people who play multiplayer and they far outnumber the zombie regulars. Also, while not completely, I think most zombie players still play multiplayer for a fair amount of time as well. I truly wanted a standalone zombies game for the longest time but in recent years I kind of re-thought my position on that and while I think it would certainly be cool, there would be some issues with it and ultimately not as successful as many people would like it to be. It's fanbase is not as big as the multiplayer crowd so obviously they will want to appeal to the larger audience. Having a campaign would kind of get rid of one of the best aspects of zombies in my opinion too. Part of the allure to zombies is figuring out the story and while a campaign wouldn't necessarily answer everything, it would still take a lot of the fun out of it and there can only be so much discussion on whether or not we enjoyed it. Whatever the story may be, it's bound to be divisive too, for instance between people who would've wanted to follow the O4 or the people who wanted to follow an entirely new group set in the already established world (or maybe even a reboot). It's just something that as a whole experience I don't think it could please everybody, or even a majority. Having a game that provides a solid fps campaign experience (which ones were good are up to you), a somewhat robust multiplayer and the ever mysterious and challenging zombies mode justifies it as a full game. Some people could argue that content is light in a cod game and I would argue back that just off the disk alone with no DLC I can and have put more hours into a cod game than critically acclaimed games like The Last of Us. This is the most corwd pleasing version of the game Activision can sell and I'm completely fine with that because I've happened to enjoy all 3 elements in the Black Ops games. That's my 2 cents on the subject.
  7. But it already is in the map? Why are people having such a hard time of believing this song is in the map? I know it is, technically just being in the intro already makes it "in the map". 8. Yeah, there's some targets to shoot but for now it's just you. I think if the game mode proves popular enough they might release a PvP version of it later on.
  9. I've heard from a few different media outlets that this will be the longest campaign yet. Some people have placed it between 14-16 hours.
  10. Since part of this song was used in both trailers, one of which being the intro, I find it extremely likely that it will be one of the songs available in the map. It may not be the main one found by activating the 3 teddy bears/meteorites/etc but it's probably in there. Usually what they put in the trailers tends to make it's way into the map somehow.
  11. I'm sure some interesting custom game modes could be made from it.
  12. I feel like I might need a match or two in the free run mode to get used to the controls again after long bouts in zombies or when I just play nothing but zombies for several days straight. This new mode could be more handy than I expected.
  13. I read that and imagined his face morphing into three. I wouldn't be at all surprised either since its Treyarch. Maybe the characters look like Marshawn Lynch to the other characters while in "beast mode".
  14. That's pretty much my mentality for this game. The beta was pretty fun, much better than previous cod mp's. Plus I've enjoyed Black Ops multiplayer the most so far. so looking forward to that. Campaign looks to be amazing and fun this time around, I've even heard it's the longest one yet. Once again I've enjoyed the BO campaigns the most as well. Plus you can't go wrong with co-op. And as for zombies, we look to be getting a decent starting amount again, and who knows what else. All in all, this one extra mode can't possibly hurt everything the game has going for it already. It does look like a good place for people to get use to the new controls as well so that already makes it good in my opinion. Can't wait to try it out and everything else the game has to offer.
  15. I don't think so. Jason Blundell is the new Game Director for Zombies, but I can't imagine the whole Zombie team being replaced by the Campaign team. It isn't the whole campaign team. As far as I have seen, it is just Blundell being put as director of zombies. Their might be more people but the zombies team is still there. I didn't mean the whole team, I was under the impression that Jason Blundell was in charge of MotD and Origins and was generally referring to him and some of the other people behind those 2 maps most likely working on the new ones. I figured there would be some overlap between the old and new teams.
  16. I was mainly refering to day one patches that are needed to fix a broken game. Like Grill said BO III probably just needs a bit of tuning. Delay your game when you know it is broken that is what I wanted to say and yes I know delaying a triple A game isn't a nice sight, but still. Day one patches just grind my gears. :P Nah I get that, delays suck too but I'll take them over a broken game. Unfortunately that's not always how it works out.
  17. That thing with the gears looks like part of an old fashioned elevator to me. I can't really figure out what that wall weapon is though, looks kind of new for zombies. Maybe an AR? Or possibly a sniper with what looks like what could possibly be a scope on top there?
  18. I'm surprised this wasn't revealed sooner to be honest. This is certainly something unique to cod games and considering how they were talking up the new movement system with the mp reveal a few months back you would've thought they would've been like "it's so revolutionary we even made a new game mode for it". I do have my skepticism about how successful it will be but I'm looking at it in a way that it will probably be something me and my friends can hop into from time to time to have a good laugh and get unnecessarily competitive about. This is also one step closer to RC car racing in a cod game too. Please Treyarch, I definitely need some Rocket League in my cod game.
  19. I am fully convinced it can only be achieved after performing a ritual. In fact I'm betting that's how a lot of the in-game power ups will work. This is the same team that did MotD and Origins, both of which had small side quests to get some of the more unique power-ups. The tomahawk, golden spork, 1 inch punch, lightning strike thing, etc. This is how I believe we'll get the sword and the new "monster mode" and whatever other hidden gems there are in the new map.
  20. So in the latest Friday live stream Treyarch has revealed a brand new game mode for multiplayer called Free Run. Basically it's a competitive parkour styled mode using the new movement mechanics. It's certainly interesting that they would actually choose to include something like this, and to me it shows that they have some pride in the new movement system they've created and want to take full advantage of it rather than it just being a new gimmick that ultimately doesn't mean much *coughAWcough*. Anyway, I can't see this as being beside the other core game modes and will probably be set in the party game modes playlist. But seeing how fun those usually are I'll definitely give this new mode a shot. Who knows, maybe it will be a break-out hit and get it's own MLG scene. Probably not but I would like for it to be that good. 21. Every game has a day 1 patch, though they're never really that big (usually). Bugs/glitches always slip through development, they just can't be found until hundreds of thousands of people are playing the game. Plus, to me it shows that they're still actively looking into making the game run as smooth as possible even after it's gone gold. Yeah it sucks that we'll have to wait a little longer to play a game but unless your connection is horrendous it won't be long at all and you'll have a better gaming experience because of it.
  22. This is the sole reason why I'm going to play through the campaign first. It's weird that they refer to this as a big unlock for zombies though because in previous games, the only thing you could unlock in zombies was just another map. So that's clearly what the assumption will be, but we know that we have this new ranking system and that zombies will be "bigger than ever". We're already going to have 3 maps more or less available to us at launch, which is the most ever provided at launch. I really do hope it's a whole new map that they decided to keep quiet on until the game comes out. And I really hope that I get to discover it myself before I accidentally hear about it like I did for FIVE.
  23. I think the N4 would've almost served better as who you played as in the other game modes, or at least the survival maps. I actually didn't outright hate them, I just didn't like them or want them because they weren't the O4. Looking past that they were a mildly interesting group with a few mysteries surrounding them that went unresolved. I would like to see where they ended up for real, or at least answer all the loose threads from them. As for the FIVE crew, I freaking loved them. McNamara was the least interesting to me but at this point it seems like every crew of 4 in zombies has that one guy who just doesn't measure up to everyone else so really it was more so the fact that he was given the least funniest jokes. The other 3 on that map were absolutely hysterical and fun to play as. If only they had explored that connection to Ascension more...
  24. They've been all over the map lately with promotions. I think Activision is just really feeling the need to promote the game more than usual, probably because of the poor reception of the previous 2 games.
