  1. The staffs are pretty much the answer to what you're wondering Their effects should bring back some wonderful memories. If you catch my drift...
  2. Yes, I know it's the elephant in the room. Let's just end the discussion here. It exists. It's the biggest spoiler imaginable. But don't continue anything in this vein. Let's just focus on actually doing the Easter Egg and building the ultimate staffs.
  3. Apparently there is a Thompson with a drum mag in the box, but I haven't seen that yet but for a small preview video yesterday. Then there's the KSG which is quite awesome, especially when PAPed.
  4. Wow. This is mindblowing. Seriously, awesome thought. I really hope this is the case; it'd be the perfect way to end everything. Massive brains to you, sir.
  5. Just want to clarify: This has been officially allowed by Treyarch to be posted by COD VIPs who attended certain events. These are NOT leaks. Do not watch them if you do not want anything spoiled for you. These are perfectly in line with our Code of Conduct. Enjoy!
  6. Updated 9/13/13 11:17 am (lightning staff steps) ORIGINS EASTER EGG GUIDE 1) Collect all four staffs by finding their parts. Each staff holds three parts followed by a record and their respective element. The locations and instructions on how to obtain then are in the other category. 2) After crafting all 4 staffs in the lower sanctum of the Excavation Site, pick them up and Samantha will say that step 1 is complete. Now it's time to upgrade them. Scroll down below for upgrading the Staffs. You should have the Bracers by now. This new melee weapon is necessary for completing the Easter Egg properly. If you haven't gotten it, kill around 30 zombies near four chests scattered across No Man's Land (open wasteland). The locations for each chest as follows: [*:2jff0nds] Other side of Juggernog near MP40 area [*:2jff0nds] On the side of the Excavation Site [*:2jff0nds] Near Generator 5/Stamin-Up [*:2jff0nds] Area after buying passage to church (outside on robot footprint) Once all chests have been filled, you can now go to Generator 6's reward chest and grab yourself the Bracers. Anyone who has participated can get this at the same time. In this Easter Egg, you will need Lightning Strike monkey bombs. There are tablets on the table in the Tank Station that you can grab although there is no dialogue. This tablet can be placed in the small holy water fountain at the top of the church. When you place it in there, use the Bracers (melee) to kill enough zombies. The tablet will turn a white-ish color when completed. You must now put the tablet right back on the table you found it without touching the mud. For this, use the tank to ride yourself to the Tank Station. Place the tablet on the table and continue to melee zombies until a glowing drop appears. This Lightning Strike is necessary for the next step of the Easter Egg. "My father couldn't save me, you can. He promised me. When the final steps are taken, the gate to Agartha are going to open. My father said the staffs aren't powerful enough. The power is in the ancient rituals. Go into the chamber of secrets. This is step 1" This quote occurs once all four staffs have been built within the sanctum of the Excavation Site. 3) Once you have the staffs all upgraded you need to put them inside of the robots. Do so by blowing off each giant's foot where the lights are underneath it. Once inside, there is an alter for the staffs. Place the correct staffs in the appropriate robots: Odin (No Man's Land) > Wind Staff Thor > (Tank Station/Generator 3) Lightning Staff Freya > (Church) Ice Staff * Staff of Fire can be placed in a newly spawned alter down within the Excavation Site where the staffs were built. There is a middle pillar for the staff. "I'm not safe here, hurry! Only the giants can break the seal" You will need the Maxis Drone built before continuing on, as well as obtaining the Lightning Strikes. 4) After all the staffs have been properly placed, have one person go into the head of any robot. At the front is a button to initiate a particular action/call. Once the player hits it, whomever holds the Lightning Strike outside the robot must throw it in the outside portion of the map near Generator 5 /Stamin-Up (to the right of the destroyed house). Here, a crashed plane can be seen as well as a platform. That is where the Lightning Strike must be thrown. [Note] 5) A hole will then appear in the area where the Lightning Strike was thrown. Someone who has the Maxis Drone must let him rise into the air near the area so he can observe the environment. Be warned: this will cause 6 Panzer Soldats to appear. Kill them off to continue. 6) Samantha will then speak of the spirit in the sky. This step requires you to have Zombie Blood. The first time is used for shooting a glowing plane much similar to that of the Staff of Fire part. The plane will drop something towards the Excavation Site area. 7) The second part of the Zombie Blood must be used to kill a particularly odd-looking zombie around the Excavation Site. The zombie tends to run clock-wise around the Excavation Site. Slay that undead sucker, pick up the poor Maxis Drone left behind the defeated zombie and progress forward. [You may need to recharge him, and do so since you will need him for the final step.] 8) You will need to have your Bracers. Go into the sanctum of the Excavation Site underneath Pack-a-Punch and melee the Templar zombies with glowing white hands. Note that you don't necessarily need to kill them as your punches will absorb their essence. Once enough energy is obtained, a tablet drop will appear. Collect it to gain your new and improved Bracers. 9) Go back into the Crazy Place and place all four staffs on their respective altars. Charge the realm by using your new Bracers to melee (kill) all the zombies. Bear in mind you will need around 30-40 souls. You will have done it correctly once the screen flashes to white and the Achievement "Little Lost Girl" is shown. 10) It's not over just yet. Let the Maxis Drone up into the air and Teleport by using the middle platform in the Crazy Place to fully end the game and unlock the ending cutscene. =============== Building Intial Elemental Staffs Wind Staff (yellow): Record: * Near Stamin-up to the right of the perk machine * On the ox-cart near generator 5 * Inside the cave. Staff of Lightning/Kimat's Bite (Purple) Tutorial: [*:2jff0nds]At the Crazy Place there are pink triangles in the lightning zone. These act as a keyboard.[*:2jff0nds] To the left of the triangles are 3 treble clefs, which show the order in which to shoot the keyboard, you will have to shoot the 3 keys in 3 different orders. If you do it right the sparks on the triangles will disappear when you walk away from them. Here is the right order 1 3 6 3 5 7 2 4 6. (*New) [*:2jff0nds]Back in the main map there are 7 panels which will be sparking. On each one there is a knob which will have to be turned until the panel stops sparking. This is how it should look now. You will need to light this using fire staff in an order. 11, 5, 9, 7, 6, 3, 4(blood). Only 4 out of them are lit. Below image has 5, 9, 3 and 4 lit. So light the torches in that order to solve this step. Massive Props to MrRoflwaffles for being the first to accurately explain this step and providing us with an easy solution. 7. What are your first thoughts or reactions to Origins? Discuss any strategies or reactions here. This is NOT the place to discuss the Easter Egg. This is a, "Hey, this map is awesome, especially when you do x" thread. Because of spoiler reasons, anything relating to the steps of the Easter Egg or how it affects the story will be deleted.
  8. Hope this helps some people out. Alright, so I'm going to try and best answer your question here. Yes, the only restriction really is the 700KB. Twitter will resize any picture, but they look best when x by x, as opposed to x by y. In addition, the square format will look great as the YT avatar as well. As for what the image will look like when moved to twitter, see: The white border is just how twitter places everything, not the actual picture we use. Anyway, hope that helps. Thanks for doing this. Let me know if you need anything else.
  9. Half this thread is now off topic of the original thread. Please respect what was originally posted, and discuss eye color somewhere else. I'm pretty sure there is an eye color thread in the Origins forum as it is. Clearly if you wish to argue against the overwhelming idea that the eyes are orange, another thread can be made.
  10. HEY GUYS! Thank you so much for your contributions. After talking with the staff, we are revising the contest. We'll give you all 2 more weeks to complete this as well as do a better job of advertising. We apologize for any inconveniences. Both were great designs, but we are looking for something else, and we have a better idea of what we want. Wednesday, September 4th is the new deadline. We also have new guidelines. We are looking for mostly a logo of some sort. Classic. Simple. Powerful. A logo with the text CODZ. Look at our current twitter avatar for an idea of what we want; something that is like that in a stylistic sense but one that has a powerful, resonating design yet reminds us all of the classic and nostalgic feeling of zombies. We've been here since the beginning; we were the beginning, so I think the logo should definitely reflect that notion.
  11. You have some textual support to help explain this video, man? On CoDz, we generally like to accompany any videos with some explanation or context, so it doesn't seem like a video just plopped in there. It just looks like advertising, which is against our Code of Conduct. If you wouldn't mind explain what your ideas and use your video to support that, then that would be a much more complete and informative thread, rather than just asking people to click your youtube video.
  12. Hey man, Did you get home yet? Great thread. It was nice to read it and refresh old memories of WuWa and tGR. I did! I even added a different video! Oh, also, did you see the commentary Downrun did on this thread? I did! Way, Downrun is a fellow commentator. You will see him in my sub box, or you can just search him on youtube.
  13. For a while now, we've only retweeted the Carbon tweets that related to zombies or, as you put it, community involvement. Thanks for expressing your concerns, but whatever they are, they've been addressed.
  14. No rules against entering multiple pictures, just make sure they're under 700KB and are square in pixel dimensions.
  15. This. This is brilliant. Well done sir. I have never wished brains to still exist more than this post right here. I agree completely, and I really hope this is what happens. You have a gift for simplifying theories into something so easily understood. Well done. You have my support and my respect, Gambit. Welcome to CoDz.
  16. I agree. Takeo definitely looks the best, followed by Nikolai. I think that the dynamic we will see is going to be great, different, but great in a way that these characters don't have (the new BO II crew). Correct me if I'm wrong, but Richtofen's tinkering exaggerated a lot their personality that was already there? If so, we'll have some good banter still. Anyway, I can't wait to see how it all comes together in the supposed cutscene/cinematic.
  17. No leaks. I deleted everything, but this is your final warning, if you see a leak, report it. If you post a leak, you will punished with a warning or most likely a ban.
  18. No, I don't think so. But somehow you found me on twitter, PINNAZ. Though I do like be able to interact with CoDz users away from CoDz!
  19. Definitely with Lithium, reminds me of Bioshock, too! Maybe Zombies will have a Bioshock Infinite-esque ending. Things seem very paradoxical at the moment. Great work here, man.
  20. Penultimate means second to last and yet you state that it is the last map in your thread. Might want to fix the disparity.
  21. I like this a lot, and that actually makes a ton of sense. A choice, to trap the characters in a never-ending cycle or to end the story by doing something drastic like you said. Turns out the quote, "Let go and the beginning becomes an end" really does ring true. I'm fascinated to see how Treyarch will pull this off. I think it's going to blow our minds. Great theory. Have some brains ;)
  22. Great discussion we're having on here as always, but please don't talk about PTG. Yes, they have a leak. But we are CoDz. We do not leak any information or so much as discuss it. You can talk PTG somewhere else. Not here. It violates our Code of Conduct to talk about leaks. We are strictly using what Treyarch has given us. We are a forum associated with Carbonfibah, and we always will be, and since he is Treyarch, we are an extension of that. Any PTG posts will be deleted, and if anyone so much as discusses any leaked information that correlates with what PTG has released, you will face punishment in the form of either a warning or possible ban.
  23. It's time that CoDz gets a new avatar, so we'll be holding a contest! However, there is no guarantee that there will be a winner chosen. If there is no avatar that blows our minds, we will not be changing either the YouTube avatar or Twitter picture. Submissions to the contest will close on August 21. The winner, or lack thereof, will be decided shortly after. Thanks to everyone for the ideas and the help with finalizing everything. First, the rules. [*:9pvqi1f5]Must include Call of Duty Zombies or CODZ somewhere in the picture. [*:9pvqi1f5]Must be under 700 KB in size (no exceptions, upload the [*:9pvqi1f5]Must be of equal length and width in terms of pixels (for example, 140x140, 250x250, etc). This is to ensure that the size fits perfectly with the Twitter/YouTube format. [*:9pvqi1f5]The pictures will be evaluated by the staff as a whole. As for the rewards, they're pretty self-explantory. [*:9pvqi1f5]Your design featured as the CoDz Twitter avatar, which has over 75,000 followers! [*:9pvqi1f5]Your design featured as the CoDz YouTube avatar. [*:9pvqi1f5]A shout-out tweet thanking you for your work. If you do not have twitter, we will simply shout-out your username. Thanks for reading, and we hope to see your entry soon!
