Nudity is a bigger taboo in America than violence (at least in media), we see that and cussing in all sorts of media, and so nobody cares. I could see his justification being "it's a game, and the only thing that matters is that I don't swear because IMO it's bad." I really don't see how people don't understand that bit. It's not really a double standard. Even if you guys consider it that, loads of people do the exact same thing as MMX. I'm sure none of us like real life violence, but we all play these games and watch movies and such. Does that mean that we're being hypocrites? Yeah, the nudity taboo doesn't make sense, but that's just the way it is right now, so I expect MMX has just taken it to another level. EDIT: We really should get back to improving everything else, though.

^ That is exactly what we should have instead. It works out perfectly. Though I know it doesn't say mature normally, it should be implied given that it's called Deep Thought. Guess some people don't get the memo though.

Highest Co-op: 40 Moon NML: Don't know, don't care Other Notables: Completed every EE except ascension and buried I'm long past the point that I can get higher. The last time I really tried to beat my highest was WaW. The moon and kino ones were just to see if I could get closeish to 40.

The point is fairly straight forward and it shouldn't be difficult to comprehend. It's not about pictures, it's not about nudity, it's not about tits. Now frankly i don't see the need for a mature section, I simply see the issue is not having to pander to the "kids" of the site, where posts might be reported for whatever reason (swearing as an example), It's about being able to have a grown up discussion without fear of repurcussions. No one likes every other word to be fucking this or fucking that, it degrades the site it degrades the person posting it. However, using within the right form it shouldn't result in someone being reported for it. As I said earlier, we all just need to grow a pair. Life's to short to get hung up on utter nonsense. Then by all means, get rid of the swear words thing (which you guys seem to be doing). Like you said, we shouldn't need a mature section. That's exactly what deep thought is for. So, what would be the purpose of this "mature" section? Literally all I'm noticing that that would add is the pictures thing, which is completely unneeded. The problem lies with maturity. That's already supposed to be what Deep Thought is about. It was civil until the first picture. Some people told them to take it down, then other people got pissy at them before they thought something different, then it spiraled out of control. All that needs to be done is people need to be more respectful of each other. None of the people involved were children.

@GRILL I agree, just change the name, or just add the mature content warning in threads that contain that kind of thing or even the whole section. However, I do want to say how utterly pointless that fight in the rape culture thread was. Adding nudity in any context is pretty pointless even in making a statement, but half of the people were getting ridiculously offended by the people who didn't want the pictures in there, and completely misinterpreting what people were saying. All I'm saying is people need to stop getting into a hullabaloo about other people's ideals. Unless it's justified. Wasn't this time.

One question I have: What is the point of a "mature" section. It's basically the same as deep thought, but you can post NSFW pics. Let me ask you this: what good does that actually accomplish? Deep thought is already supposed to be a place for mature posts. We wouldn't even have thought of this if someone had not posted one picture. Why can't we just keep it without nudity? It's a waste of space. Honestly, the maturity on all sides of the debate in that thread were pretty low, even by those who consider themselves "mature" so I'm not sure why we're even arguing this.

I only play it occasionally with my one roommate, and our other friend from high school. Before coming to college I probably hadn't played it for a good few months. It's been kinda meh for me. Just the same old stuff. I can only play it with friends. The story is still interesting, but since it's the off season I'm in the IDGAF mode. Part of it is I'm just more into single player games now. That just feels more fulfilling than a game of zombies.

WaW, but only back in the time it first came out. It was just magical back then. By the time Black Ops ended, it still was, but it was at it's prime in WaW. Also, no Der Riese clones, only the original before it got really overrated.

Yeah it's rated too highly. Great for its time, but when people say it's the best still I can't help but facepalm. Back then it was praised for how much stuff it had, but later people complain about the amount of things the newer maps have. It also brought out some fairly cookie cutter maps. Kino and Ascension in particular have the same basic formula as it. As for the good bits, it was revolutionary for it's time. PaP, Bowie, Monkey Bomb. Decent atmosphere (I think I prefer the other WaW maps), and the best wall weapons. The story also really started coming out then. Good zombie designs as well. The DG-3's splash damage drawback was awful, though.

There are still so many unanswered questions, why on earth would they start anew? What they did poorly in BO2 was focus on an objective that Maxis and Richtofen wanted, which was a boring story, because it was just us helping them achieving the plan with nothing happening until Buried. What I want is answers to questions we've had since WaW. There's far too much subtlety when the story has gotten so much bigger. At this point, they need to stop being so vague instead of jumping all over the place.

This is the first time I've posted on an actual zombies based discussion in forever, but... Der Riese. It's so overrated. It's like, the Ocarina of Time of zombies. The first zombie map to do what it does (slightly higher complexity with the Pack a punch), but pretty much every map that came after it is way more fun and complex (though Kino and Ascension were basically the same to be honest). I don't get what people see in it. It's not very interesting. You've gotta admit though, guys, the Ocarina of Time analogy is pretty spot on. Like I mentioned in the above paragraph, Kino and Ascension are pretty cookie cutter and boring now. Fun when they were out, not anymore. Also, way too easy. Finally, Tranzit. Nuff said. Not liking the hate Shi no Numa is getting. Loved that map back in the day.

But seriously, at least make the bottom user names orange. They were orange before all of the usernames were changed to orange and should stay that way if nothing else. It looks so ugly down at the bottom, especially in conjunction with the ads. I don't care if the regular names stay white, but the bottom of the page just looks dreadful.

I'm curious as to how people think white is less clustered. If anything, it's more clustered now that it is white. Looks freakin terrible. Also, to the "too much color" people. You do realize that if 90% of the members are still one color that it's still pretty uncolorful, right? If anything, now the names need more color. The orange blended sooo much better with the site than white. I can't explain it, it just looks so... bland now. EDIT: If we keep the white, can we at least change the bottom username cluster back to orange like it was before? That is the biggest offender.

Many of us chat off the forum already and it has had no impact one way or the other. This will just give us the option of not using skype. So I've been told on the chat. Seems kinda pointless to charge money for the subscription later, though.

We shouldn't have added the chat, I don't think. That just brings even less traffic to the actual forums. Otherwise, cool. EDIT: Oh, it requires a subscription later. Well, then that may or may not be effective at all.

I just realized Member Lounge and Deep Thought still have brains. Good. Those two make sense to keep it in. Good things have come out of both.

Welp, looks like I'm most likely never getting brains again. That's just freakin great. Everything else is just okay.

It's good to see old names. I don't remember ever having that many brains, however. If converted to the new system, that's over a hundred brains. No way I've ever gotten that many. I'd be down for it, but I feel like it'd be cheating the newer members, and as Boom said many of them aren't active anymore.
