  1. Yeah and I'm sure it was a patriotic journal, however all I'm saying is that Dempsey mentions a battle that hasn't happened yet, that's where I'm sayng the diescrepancy lies Ok well that does sound like an error. The battle was in June, but Tank mentions it in April.
  2. Just throwing this out there as my theories about the staffs in this map, based on the achievements. 1. There are 4 staves total - earth, air, fire, water. 2. You have to build each staff with parts (some parts are buried). 3. Each staff can be PaPed to upgrade it to an Ultimate Staff. 4. You can give staves to other players with the Use button. If they have a staff, you trade staves. 5. Each staff's attack power relates to its element. Air = thundergun, Fire = flaming lava laser, Water = push back and slip up zombies, Earth = surround zombies with dirt to paralyze them temporarily 6. When Ultimate, the staves have a secondary effect on players, like the Vril gun did in CotD. Water = revive from a distance, Fire = set player on fire, temp impervious to swipes, Air = faster run speed, reload, Earth = protection, take more hits. 7. Staves will be used to open or power places or items on the map. Ok, there you go! Confirmed!! UPDATE: color coded based on if the predictions were right or not right. Pretty close over all, except that there was electricity instead of earth, you can't swap staves, and there is only one secondary effect for all staves.
  3. nah i think that is referring to the 1,000 foot tall robot No way, it's the BioShock looking guy with the GIANT CLAW!! Time for a poll about this ?
  4. Yeah I think this could be read many ways. It could even mean alternate reality due to time travel, but the map could resolve this by erasing itself somehow (time loop, nuke, aether explosion, vril teleportation, etc) at the end, in the current zombies timeline, removing all traces of its existence. I don't think 'alternate reality' is proof of much until we play the map.
  5. Cool! I was just joking but it seems based on this and the thread and your sig, there is really something to Group 601.
  6. I'm not sure this is an error. The term was coined and used before the battle, but the newspaper then associated it with the battle.
  7. Cool! Here's a nice link about it, with a US motivational poster, the origins of the name in WW1, and the Battle of Belleau Wood. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_Dog Of course I thought of Samantha's dogs first. Then the Cerberus MotD dogs. Speaking of MotD, check this out:

  9. Or like Mob Of The Dead, where we collect te headphones to listen to Ferguson tell us the story. Good ideas...
  10. As other have mentioned, it's not a big deal, just an old easter egg that I'd forgotten about. People thought it related to TranZit because of the 2 towers, and Nuketown because of the nuke. The logo is not the same: it says 601 in the middle instead of 935.

    Group 601

Remember group 601? viewtopic.php?t=3662&p=131222 Maybe they are behind it all? :o
  12. I think Sam is just older now, so her voice is rougher and not a little girl's voice anymore. I bet it will be explained, but perhaps she's been trapped in the aether for so long, she's aged there, or at least been corrupted by it in some way over time.
  13. I love your idea that they may have taken a game mechanic like spawning and rounds and crawlers and made it part of the story! Sealing off a few zombies for centuries so the entity in control can't spawn any more. Lol.
  14. I was wondering when he would do that...
  15. I always thought of 115 as being red in color, like the glowing meteors around maps like Der Riese. But this trailer seems to show it as a blue glowing color. What do you think?
  16. Looks like it wasn't a sword at all, but something around the neck of a german soldier.
  17. Based on the trailer, I'm pretty sure purple is the color before Sam takes control (which will be explained in Origins). So definitely purple and not blue, and purple is the default color when just the aether is in control, or maybe some other entity was in control before Sam took over.
  18. So just to wrap up: Samantha really is in control, and the eyes are yellow, and the map will explain how this is possible in 1918. Looks like purple is the default, or aether, or whatever was in control before Origins.
  19. Thank you. Well, the site was down for several months... So... yeah... Ha ok, I know how that goes. Great post though. What do you think about the Gersch purple color? Does anyone else think his right arm and fingers look metallic, not like bone? They seem to be smooth and shiny. And he's holding the head of someone in a gas mask, maybe one of the 935 excavators?
  20. MMX has made some fantastic observations in regards to what the purple color could mean, I'd highly suggest checking out his thread on Ethereal Energy. Really nice post over there (he needs to post it on this forum though! ). Another purple device is the Gersch Device in Ascension, which also causes teleportation and might be a portal into the aether.
  21. They totally look purple to me too. Compare to the glowing blue things in the background too (what are those). So purple and yellow on the same map? Or maybe they are purple (default color/element 115 + aether?) in the cinematic intro, then something happens (rift in time and space) in the opening story and they go yellow (Samantha) when you get in-game. And the zombie has risen from a tomb that 935 has disturbed? Awakened an ancient (middle ages) evil?
  22. No one's posted this image from 9 hours ago yet? O4 in a cutscene from CoD:BO facebook page. Link: https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 0310_o.jpg
  23. Great research and summary, especially about finding out the inspiration/source of the megalith patterns from the Origins logo and sacred site! Here are the 4 best pics of the sacred site from the trailer: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s244/sh/ ... 3%20PM.png
  24. Are you talking about Misty's voice in this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9dw7Ys3XwE
  25. I was rewatching the trailer and putting together in my head some of the map layout. You can see the path the tank takes, and it looks like at one of the stops there is that big temple-like site. Here are 4 screenshots of it (you can only see 2 in this forum unless you open the image directly): Image Link: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s244/sh/ ... 3%20PM.png Things that are interesting to me are the glowing blue interiors of the pillars surrounding the site, the power/electricity that is shooting up from it into the clouds, and the detailed runes like in the Origins teaser text on the floor of the site. So is this a Vril-ya landing site? Did they make it? What's the power source here (not 115)? What will it be used for in the map? Who is excavating it, the Germans? Obviously it's a pivotal location. Thoughts? On a side note, the white circles you see in the screenshots are where water puddles are. What caused them? I'm thinking robot foot prints. Maybe they are where his feet land as he walks around the map.
