Weird beeping when switching to ray gun

Hey I was playing with the tommy gun when I ran into a bit of trouble so I switched to ray gun and it did a beeping and a vacuum sound and my character cranked it then reloaded I dont know why

As soon as my game is over I'll get a video of it

Yeah I was using the Ray Gun and also had a weird beeping sound when switching to it.

I think it's just new 'high tech' audio for that futuristic weapon.

I heard it on a syndicate video, I think his very first play through on the 5th video. Why does it sound cooler in the past than it does in the present????
