  1. Teeth Qs: 1. Some of the teeth items have levels, right? 2. Are some 1 buy only? I bought the 'faster heal' one and it turned red. 3a. Does this mean that i can hit it to turn it off/on? 3b. Or can i buy it again and it changes color? I'm saving for the 'start with skill point'. 4. Can you buy that more than once? On the pool: these automatically add some teeth when the clock runs down. Then, destroying a barrier hive (or equivalent, like the tentacle in Mayday), gets you one tooth from that pool. 5. This is correct, yes? 6. Is there a way to affect how many teeth get added to the pool? I know that's a bunch of questions, but I'm curious and verbose, so that is that.
  2. Yeah boom, just like mp, go to Loadout, hit x (you should see on screen prompt). On topic: I just make one that looks aesthetically pleasing. If 2 player, i like one guy and one girl so you know who is saying what. This transferred from playing split screen bots, so we would know who said what. That being said, i want to get the astronaut for the shits and giggles.
  3. It technically means 'zombie insane (crazy)'. Fyi, in waw it was Zombie Verruckt (zombie crazy). In bad ops it was just crazy (verruckt). There are lots of weird sounds. The toilet plays music, the bathroom has creepy sounds.the dentist chair, the baby crying by the ovens... Now i want to play it (waw, not the terrible reprint).

    Safeguard Game Mode

After extensive solo/2 player testing, it has become clear that a certain number of enemies in some rounds will be randomly chosen. Never saw dogs on 13 until yesterday (during the test period). Sometimes rounds 4, 9, 14, 19 have dogs, sometimes not. There is some randomness, despite certain enemies being predictable on certain rounds. Happy gaming!
  6. Yeah, it's the nuances and the paying attention to your combo and knowing what to do about it. That all comes with practice, which i haven't had. Ha. Edit: it would be nice if sometime did a strategy guide for it, with helpful tips/strategies. You know i would, if i had a clue. But i don't, yet. I really hope that the extinction guides get more attention or more people writing some. We have zombie threads galore, I've done what I could for Safeguard (play the damn mode bitches! Oh, did I type that?). I have edited and revamped it like 100 times and while it still has a few unanswered questions, there is no thread like it on the web (because nobody gives 2 fecal matters about the mode). I clearly don't know Extinction well enough or I'd do my part (hey, i did write down all of the equipment costs in that one semi-started thread).
  7. Interesting. I open both barriers and run a full loop, killing at certain spots only. The howl slowing them down means that they gravitate to the center, keep killing the fast/new spawn zombies as there will be few. Then, finish off the slow ones. Early you can sort-of do this with grenades; make crawlers, they gravitate to the center... Do you still get the zombie thief? If so, fill the jugger alcove with Claymores he walks in and dies immediately. I've only done it with power on and only to 34... Edit: the videos are not supported on my phone, so if you mention any of this in them, my bad.
  8. Sorry Eternal but on that one I disagree with you. It's been shown many times on each map that there is always a "best" or a "superior" strategy. If you were talking about multiplayer you might be right but in zombies there is always an ideal endgame strategy. Always. If you mean wr run or going past 100, you are right. But for the average player trying to hit 50+, there are a few easy ways in this map. Just from my experiences past 50; Buddha room kite. Takes some skill. Buddha room column. Takes little skill. Escalator by pdw: Some skill, getting drops, surviving jjs. Ledge outside gk room, post patch: frightening, but easy. Jjs, before and after the patch, are the biggest issue. Each of these can get a medium-skilled player past 50 in Die Rise. So, to elite players, eternal's post may be lacking, but i think that he is correct in context of most players experience. Shrug. That's my take.
  9. Woo-hoo! Finally beat every map in ghosts in a 2 player Safeguard!

Most people seem to get the 20r chievo, then forget the game exists.

Your not alone in not playing it. As usual, I'm the weird one. :) Well, read my guide, get a friend, become obsessed with it...

Grats man. I still need to play this, perhaps I will when I find someone to play with.

Get off that x1 and do the 360.

  10. When my friend and I play against bots, i always want ff on for the realism. He wants to shoot through me and use me like a shield, so he wants it off. I just like the realism/challenge of not killing your buddies. In Extinction, i can't see it being too bad. I don't usually shoot through my teammates in extinction. Shrug.
  11. I've tried it solo, i haven't really gotten the hang of it yet. It needs more trial and error, but so far it's quick, it's fun, but it's hard and I'm not sure that i know what I'm doing...then it's over.
  12. Well, on topic, thanks for everyone getting the correct information out there as i have run into a few confused lobbies, and have been a little unsure myself. I'm glad this is here.
  13. Hmm. I usually build the Sliquifier on round 1 myself, but i usually leave it on the table until 40 because soon after that I would need it. To alleviate boredom, i try not to use it early. The dragon roof is good until the 20's-ish. Then i do the Buddha room myself; usually stand on the top balcony. Then mix it up;r+g, occasionally take a break on the broken column. Note that you can headshot fairly well while standing on that column too, no Sliquifier needed. I keep a Claymore stash next to the column, on the balcony, where the zombies jump up. When the jumping jerks come, set the TS right there next to the column: none can get you and if they get past it, they hit Claymores. I put max (12) Claymore down so i can quick-use one and have it explode as soon as i drop it. The escalator by the pdw is easy to survive high rounds too with the Sliquifier. Just stay left as you go down after drops, so you don't get evicted from the building. Random: I called the Sliquifier 'the pink shotgun' because if you just run and shoot with it, it plays like a shotgun that shoots pink. I put pink camos on my shotguns in mp for this reason. Edit: good points as always from lead_psychopath, and to the OP, nice work, taking the time to think and type this out. I may not do everything the way you do, but still, nice job! On bank: I usually take out about 15k to jump start/avoid tedium. Pay it back quickly and move on. If for some reason you keep dying and losing money, there is always Buried/time bomb to fill it up. Edit 2: last zombie on elevator? Just keep jumping in and out of it, right next to the zombie (he won't hit you), when it is about to move he usually explodes, giving you a zombie free ride. If he end up on the elevator, usually he just waves his arms a few times, makes a dash at you (simply move out of the way) and goes back to arm waving/repeats. In the rare instance that they chase you, simply walk a slow circle, avoiding hits. Not always successful, but it usually works.
  14. O never heard of him grabbing a zombie. It's s shame that it glitched, but kind of cool that you got to see him cook a zombie.
  15. Hmm. That's odd in a way that i did not expect. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Did the grenade go off and smoke? I've had a few hang up on cps. Then, it suddenly frees up a minute later and calls in my care package when I'm not there. I think this may explain an issue with Safeguard; you get a gun from an SD. You get it again and it maxes ammo. You get it again and i get varying results. I think that it gives you max ammo, plus stuns and ieds, minus any in use/on ground. But the other day, it only gave me 1 stun grenade, which threw me off as i have never seen it give only 1 stun. Maybe that stun had not gone off, stuck somewhere, so the game only gave me 1. Or maybe the game is a little wonky in a different way that i haven't fogged out yet. (accidentally posted while not done)
  17. Thanks for that. I did a lot of 2 player online and offline split screen, it happened to me constantly, now i know why. Same with the hacker glitch on Moon. It only happened with 2 people online, or if you did offline split screen: as soon as one player dies, hacker is glitched: no words show up for it. It still works, but doors are bad because you might buy them for full price. To make hacker work, you had to back just slightly out of range of the door price, so the screen said nothing, but if you were close enough, hacker would work. What a pain in the ass when being chased by zombies. Ugh, Moon, so glitchy and bad. Such a disappointing way to end bo.
  18. Split screen, pretty much every Game one of us doesn't get the b+w screen at the beginning, during the countdown. Safeguard: You can revive a player and pick up an SD at the same time. Not a glitch but weird. Probably works in mp games with cps. Teammate revives me in safeguard split screen, his gun becomes ak12 (this has occurred a few times, always player 2). After reviving in split screen (p2 reviving p1, i think) Safeguard, the announcer voice repeats a few times, then goes away for the rest of the game. AI Melee: Recruit: doesn't really try at all. Regular: you stab him, he appears to stab you, both take damage. Hardened: you will take stab damage, then he may make a stab motion after. They will win any stab fight, even if you stab their backs while they are shooting in the opposite direction. Veteran: if near them, you have been stabbed, no attempt to make him look like he stabbed you, you were simply stabbed by his presence. Looks really shamefully bad to witness. Safeguard shield guys work like Extinction scouts: they can be far behind you, you turn and run and they hit you somehow from way back there, despite you running away with only a pistol in hand and never less than 10 feet between you (scouts can hit you from well over 50 feet behind you, from the other side of a fence, one of the reasons that i don't play extinction often). Ultra cheaty poor programming. I know I'm forgetting some glitches from yesterday that i witnessed... Bayview, not a glitch; while fighting solo (i didn't see this with 2 players at all) on top of the lighthouse, the infected spawn just east of the lighthouse by the ladder, so you visually see the lightning strike where they spawn. Just a cool fyi. Oh yeah; on Freefall Safeguard; (only map i have not beat at all...yet). I pick up a Hind....it's just gone. No more package, not in inventory, didn't call it in, other packages were still in the map and i got another one. My only teammate was in view, getting a package 30 feet away, he didn't take it while i was getting it... This game is so glitchy that it's almost 10% as glitchy as Trollarch's least glitchy cod! That's pretty bad for iw.
  19. Thanks. And good call on the mk14/stab, not a bad strategy. Feel free to opine your ways of Kino-ing too, as we all do it differently. You may hate my ideas...
  20. Always go for knife. Makes max points, saves ammo, easy to use. Always question a 'strategy' that doesn't include knife first in bo1. Buy the MPL. In a 1 or 2 player game you should get the knife/power on on round 5. Then get jugger as soon as possible. By round 11, buy MP40/speed cola. I recommend opening the bottom door from start: easier full-map run and leaving the top door closed makes the start room decent for running trains too (first game that i played solo, i got to 18 just running the start room). My highest solo is 44, quit. Sorry man. I love to discuss strategy, but i just feel that your giving terrible advice. Each to their own and all but; Bo1 you often must buy a wall gun at first. Never buy the Olympia/mk14 unless trying to fail. Hit the terrible mpl or mp5k, hopefully won't need ammo buys often because this is so badly balanced in bo1. Always knife> jugger> box gun, almost never hit the box before knife, jugger. Pap when you need ammo and do it to your best gun. Why are you telling them to pap mp5k? For zombies, you generally want a fast movement gun (like start pistol) and a big magazine gun. You were spot on on stabbing early rounds: rd1 1, rd2 2, rd 3+4 3 stabs. Come at them in a small loop; come in left, stab as you cross them, pull back and right, this stops them from hitting you in bo1, to avoid early downs. You were correct about the stage: some go on the stage, i like to run counter clockwise (simply easier, control-wise) in front of the stage, up the stage, back down in front. This makes the zombies follow specific paths that are fairly easy to avoid. At a certain point, it gets too crowded. Start looping clockwise: from stage> start room> double tap area> stage/repeat. By like 30, the solo trains get so long that you must clockwise the whole map: stage>mp40> start> mpl> double tap> stage. With 4: 1 runs start (upstairs door closed), 1 or 2 run stage, 1 or 2 run loop around map, communicating with the stage to coordinate pass-through. That's my take, feel free to rip it apart. Ha. Don't stop strategizing, just expect to hear some different views. I know that well, not everyone will agree with me either. Happy gaming! Additional: buy Claymore, drop them in the alcove by jugger, camp at the mouth of that area for dogs. If you get overrun or need a reload while under duress, simply back into the minefield. Same as all bo1 maps, don't stab your teammate when you are down, if you have the BK/Sickle, as this will kill your teammate usually (but when you are up, you can stab them all that you want). Also, some gas zombies (and to a lesser extent regular zombies) turn invisible in Kino, more than most any other bo1 map. The gas zombies usually still emit 'fumes' so you know where they are.
  21. What they said, also step one says 'you can you' instead of 'you can use'. While we all know the steps and locations, you could probably give clearer directions on exactly where these items are. For example 'middle window in cafeteria, look through it, off to your left for the spoon'. Because if you don't know where to look in the cafeteria, you're not gonna find that.
  22. Haha awesome story! and very well said! I love Zombies Nostalgia Thanks man! I had fun typing that one and it's true.
  23. It's been so long since i did it. But the pattern of the rounds just plus along at about the same pace until i think 40 (waw) then it picks up. Like 5-6 hours, probably paused it a couple of times. Back when training zombies was the weird way to play... --- Old man story/cool story bro: i remember back in the day when Shi No Numa was fresh off the presses and der riese meant nothing to anyone outside of Deutschland. We didn't need no fancy machine to upgrade our weapons like a bunch of pencil-pushing pansies! We stood our ground until the zombies bit our feet off. Well, one day I was in the swamps of Japan with 3 Randies, one of whom was mute. But we didn't mind, as long as he could hold his own. We did the usual routine; find the perks, worship the box, camp the best huts. Suddenly, the Mute is gone. We have to defend as a three man team. But we hear that he's still in our vicinity from the sounds of the strange device that threw lightning, that the Devil's box gave him. After a while it was too much for my remaining comrades, after being consumed by the wretched masses, i heard them no more. It seemed this fight was left to me and my strangely adept mute friend. I neared his location, and was rewarded by seeing the awesome sight of massive zombie destruction, i saw from his actions that he had this in hand and my presence was likely detrimental to his survival, so i took what little i learned from him in those moments and began to run past and around zombies, shooting when i had some pooled up. Alas, I was as green as Spring grass, not the hardened zombies slayer that i have become. After several seemingly effortless revives from Mutey, I realized this was all that i had left; die, only to be revived to die again. And so i took my leave of battle. I have no idea what happened to old Mutey, but I hope that he lived to slay another day. I went back to base and researched this concept of 'kiting' the undead. There, I learned the ways of this method and immediately began to adopt it to every zombie infested area that I was sent to and to test my limits at it. Then they sent me to Breslau, Germany, but that's a different story.
  24. Yeah. There was a multiple gun cheat in every map. Then there were solo ones in maps too. Der Riese, you could only get 3 in solo. Snn 6 max solo. Zv 6 Mac solo i think. Ndu you can't do any solo ones that I'm aware of.
  25. I often used that same strategy solo: camp start until around 3, 4 (i used the arisaka if needed [is it the KAR in bo1?], aka 'round 3 rifle'). Then open warning door, Thompson + bb. Set bbs in alcove under start room stairs for untimely reloads and escape out the door to comm. Hold to like 10 or so. Near the end of rounds, open dq, fishing, storage in search of jugger and speed. Once overwhelmed, i would run the com room circuit. Of course, back in waw, since i never intend to beat my legitimate 119 rounder, i would usually try get an extra gun slot or two from the perk machines. Cough cheater cough cough.
