  1. I don't want it to seem like I'm bashing your idea, but 'railgun' keeps cropping up. Do you mean what I think you mean (as if in THE railgun? i.e. Metal Gear Solid/Transformers 2 type railgun)? Bad examples I know  The last I heard of a railgun in real life, the one time they test fired it, it ripped itself to pieces, tore loose from its mounting and that was after just one shot. I could be wrong (either I have the wrong info or it has been improved since then). Please feel free to correct me, as I said, It has been a while since I looked into it/heard anything about it. Although, I suppose with it being Black Ops, they could be using a perfected version. I still believe it's from a drone though, quite possibly from an aircraft as MrRoflWaffles suggested. However, the background does look like camo to me, so I think it's more likely a ground drone. Unless we're viewing the underside of the aircraft? In the part of my post you quoted me in, I did say it was a wild guess lol. But it's been hinted several times that the game is set in the near future, and it's likely we will be using railguns in the future.
  2. Yes, I have not thought about it. For example, RC-XD is from the future. BO is in 1960's. They have few things in the game like AK-74u from 1974. Of course, treyarch would pick something that is from the future and changes the form into the past. I haven't realized that. Thank you Alpha for making me understand more about this. The RC-XD is not from the future. Radio-controlled cars have been available since the 60s, and anyone could strap C4 to one. The Black Ops timeline ends at about 1978 I believe, so an AK-74u from 1974 would fit as well.
  3. After looking at the clearer picture the only thing I can think that the top piece would be is some sort of gun optic. I mean look at the inside it looks clear like you would look through it. Why does the fact that has a metal piece attached automatically mean it's not a gun, just because you don't know what it is? This is supposed to be a prototype. I think maybe the metal thing, (looking at how it could pivot back and forth on the screw-like piece) might be for after an extremely fast shot like a rail gun or something, the whole barrel could recoil back and then reset itself using the metal piece. This is obviously just a wild guess but still. Also, I still have no idea what the underbarrel would be, but the piece under it looks like a grip to me.
  4. Yeah it says something about that on tacitus.com I'm pretty sure. Oh and here's your image:
  5. Even if it's not a Taepodong-2, I think it's ironic that they just tested the Taepodong on April 13, which is only a little over two weeks ago. If the setting is in the near future it would fit perfectly, an ICBM currently being tested but not functioning properly right now, by the time of the game would probably be ready to be used.
  6. Guys I think it is an intercontinental ballistic missile: Look at the one on the far right, I think it looks pretty similar to the longer, thinner object in the distorted picture. What do you guys think? The "Taepo Dong 2."
  7. "no second chance, nuff said." This. Except I didn't want second chance to be in World at War, and it was. Then I didn't want it to be in MW2, and they put it in twice. Then I didn't want it to be in Black Ops, and it was. Then I didn't want it to be in MW3, and it was.
  8. Well, he's not actually russian. His real name is Kyle Myers, and he's american. FPSRussia (or Dmitri) is his alter ego, where he fakes the Russian accent. My bad, I've only actually watched like 2 or 3 of his videos, including the quadrotor one.
  9. I don't think zombies will return in Black Ops II, I know.
  10. Like what Tacitus is? I think it's pretty certain that Tacitus is a weapons manufacturing company that specializes in advanced technology ahead of its time, and it will play a large part in the Black Ops II campaign storyline. (Could be the enemy or you might be working with them, I think they will be the bad guys.)
  11. Turn into TNT for the future of Call of Duty You're right it could be, but which is more likely? For how they said it, it's more likely to mean the game is set in the future. If they meant the future of CoD, they probably would have put "The Future of Call of Duty" so that they're not falsely advertising the game to be in the future if it wasn't. EDIT: I found the other one:
  12. Yeah that's pretty much it lol, he is not Russian and he shows different guns and shoots them on his YouTube channel.
  13. I remember watching a video for Black Ops before it came out and I think it was Dan Bunting(?) that said that while developing Black Ops they had the motto from FMJ "This is my rifle, this is my gun." Also, private Pyle was a character in the World at War campaign if anyone remembers, he was the one who got his throat slit in the first mission "Semper Fi." So they've had inspiration from it before, not unlikely that they had inspiration from it again.
  14. I saw it like an hour ago when I searched "call of duty" on Google. It said that and linked to callofduty.com. I searched it again just now and now it says "Call of Duty World Reveal - Tune into TNT for the Future"
  15. Well, it could be something that had to be stopped, and was, therefore we have not actually seen it. I'm going with, since it's a sequel to a cold war game, it's definitely NOT in the future. They have recently starting running an advertisement that says "Call of Duty World Reveal | What Does the Near Future Look Like?"
  16. Maybe, but they will probably have CoD Elite for PC by the time Black Ops II comes out. If PC doesn't have Elite, how do they look at MW3 stats? If they can't look at their stats on MW3 then it's not too far-fetched that they wouldn't get to look at their zombie stats, either.
  17. Very nice, however I don't think they would put it in the zombie menu, it's more likely they would put it in Call of Duty Elite, since they want to get more use out of it and get more people to subscribe to it. Even though it would be much more practical to have it in game like you said.
  18. "I think either there will be a new clue on the call of duty website which hints alot at zombies or there will be something in the reveal. I also think we should keep an eye on the terminal in BLOPS, they may add something in there via an update." I'm 99% sure there will be nothing about zombies on the website or in the reveal. They usually don't reveal any details about multiplayer or zombies until close to the release date, if at all. Normally they only reveal details about the campaign at about this time. So most likely everything we know so far is from the campaign and the reveal will also show the campaign. "funny thing I pre-ordered GR:FS, P.S BETA IS AWESOME." I have to disagree. That beta is terrible. "the video of FPSrussia he blows up an old American car, maybe when referring to the future he is meaning the future of the era he is in in the video... Anyone get what I mean?" I'd imagine he blew up an old American car because he didn't want to buy a brand new car just to blow it up. Seems like a waste of money.
  19. I understand that black operations gives you a certain amount of leniency, but they simply are not going to include an aircraft that flew for the first time in 2009 in a game set almost 30 years before. I'm not even going to try to explain why that would make no sense.
  20. They've shown a clear picture of a General Atomics Avenger on callofduty.com. Its first flight was in 2009. The game will not be set in the 80s.
  21. If they had Samantha as a playable character in her own body I think they'd have to find the voice actress that did her voice for Der Reise, unless she's older in Black Ops II. But I don't think that she would be, because they used a time machine to go from World at War's timeline to Black Ops' timeline so I'd imagine they will use a time machine again to get from Black Ops' timeline to Black Ops II's timeline.
  22. I thought after I played the Black Ops campaign that they made it pretty clear/obvious that Mason is the one who killed JFK. So why would Mason try to solve something that he did? Unless he doesn't know that he did since he was brainwashed, but still that doesn't seem like a very good idea for a storyline, since the player already knows it was him who assassinated JFK.
  23. found this on call of duty wiki, so now we know why he is important don't know wha ive done to go on there though, or mr toasty, vosty or shizzire either Shizzire solved transmission 3. MrToasty from unFiction solved Transmission 2 and Vosty3 is the Community Manager of wethegamerz.com, he received one of the initial USB drives.
  24. Reznov was made from the same character model as Imran Zakhaev from Call of Duty 4, so it's possible they just used Reznov's character model to make this new character for Call of Duty Black Ops. So it doesn't necessarily have to be him even if it looks just like him. But I hope it is him, because Reznov is my favorite video game character of all time! @dfinest1 - The guy that never dies that you're talking about was Pvt. Dimitri Petrenko, the person you play as.
  25. Preach the word, brother!
