Groom Lake (map concept)

Recommended Posts

"Samuel we must hurry... your body is so slow and fat!" Samuels eyes glowed blue and the voice seemed to come from nowhere, "S-...shut up" he panted and replied. Zombies pursued in a huge group behind our crew, closing in fast. They come into a very familiar looking pit with water in the middle, and a broken down pack a punch machine within a cage. They all run up onto the platform, the machine above them began to hum and come to life. "um..we're sorta in a dead end here!" misty yelled sounding panicked. "don't worry, its all part of the plan.." the voice comforted. Lightning sprang from the coils and surrounded them, Richtofen held his breath, preparing for the lack of air... Then the lightning stops and they find themselves in a very...different place then they were expecting. "NO!, what went wrong?!" richtofen panicked, when a lone zombie comes round the corner. "Welcome to groom lake, travelers..." The crew looks up to see the voice came from an intercom. "Or should I say...hell."

Opening cutscene over, sorry for my terrible descriptive skills .-.

The spawn room you begin in is a large room filled with mountains of boxes with warning labels on them, debris fills the room and blood stains of people from before mark the walls. On the left of the spawn a Ballista is on the wall, speed cola can be seen across the room behind a set of bars, then by the door past an L shaped turn is the S12.
Making your way up the stairs passed the first door (1000 points) a large laboratory can be found. Upon entering the room the intercom will speak again, telling you to find the black box room in the basement. Going past the lab, you can pass a FAL OSW on the wall, and who's who can be seen in the corner next to a computer. The door (1250 points) is seen, leading to a control/break room with power. However the switch must be repaired, find a wrench in the closet back in the lab (750 points) to fix it. Head to the right to find another large steel door (2000 points) and you climb the stairs to find a meeting room with a large table, dimmed lights, and a hologram machine on the table. The hologram is a flickering image of the earth in its AE (blown up) status, with red markers on key points.. look closely to notice the points highlighted represent Tranzit, Die rise, and buried. If you inspect the globe the man on the intercom will tell you of the governments plans to restore the earth using the towers. But YOU beat them to it. Richtofen will giggle nervously and change the subject.

Since the power is on the large elegant elevator at the back of the room will be functional. You can select X/Square to go to the basement, and B/Circle to go to the war room. First off the war room:
A large circular room filled with crescent shaped tables, and a large hologram machine in the middle. Juggernog can be seen, but its behind a glass display case...the glass is bullet-proof. So have fun with that. On the left side a PDW is available, and a buildable table is on the right side. Two doors are on either side, leading to a large set of stairs on the right and a lounge room on the left. The lounge room has stamin-up in it, and quite a few buildable items. We will return to the stairs later...

The bottom room in the elevator leads to the basement, which is just a large hallway, with 2 doors on the left and 3 on the right. Finally a large sleek black door at the very end. All the other rooms contain 2 of the following at random: Phd Flopper, Mule Kick, Honey Badger, Buildable table #1, Buildable table #2, SVU, Scorpion, semtex grenades, Mystery box #1, Mystery box #2.

Similar to shi no numa, each room will recieve two random items... however two mystery boxes will never spawn in one room and two perk machines will never spawn in one room. BUT two buildable tables can (and always will) spawn in the workshop. Think of it like.. i don't know each room will be randomly placed behind a door.

-Workshop

-lounge

-computer room

-Classroom

-fitness room

The last room is the lobby. Go to the right from the war room and downstairs, to the lobby. A large white room with a fountain, and plants in pots. This room is the one of the largest, second to only the starting room. Double Tap II is here, and the remington as well as the MTAR is found on oppasite sides of the room.

Anyways my description is terrible and this is rather rough idea and its missing rooms... but the main idea is the story and the concept..

The teleporter should have taken them to moon ya? However after the explosion the government began serious operations at a base in Nevada to solve the zombie problem. Wanna know something awesome? This lab is the one seen in the zombie labs series by treyarch! Hope that helps getting an image for the labs. Research for help was conducted surrounding the 3 towers featured in the BO2 story. In order to recover the machine from the starting area of moon (juggernog) they recalibrated the teleporter to their base, unknowingly severing the link to moon in the process. Obviously something went wrong at the facility, as it is deserted besides our mystery intercom guy..which is the key to the easter egg. The jerk locked you inside the facility from the black box room... in order to complete the egg the door must be opened, and the repelling systems need to be repaired. Did I mention those?... They build 3 large towers outside to repel zombies with a special signal. So in order to escape with the info you need, those need to be fixed. Which is our easter egg.

Onto the minor details:

Wall Weapons:

-S12

-Ballista

-PDW

-MTAR

-Scorpion

-SVU

-FAL OSW

-Remington

-Honey Badger

-Semtex

Perks:

-Juggernog

-Speed Cola

-Double Tap II

-Who's Who (Costs 500 points in solo)

-Phd Flopper

-Stamin-up

-Mule Kick

-Freedom Fizz

Freedom Fizz is a brand new perk invented by the scientists at the base in an attempt to follow in 935's research. Freedom Fizz costs 3000 points, and allows the user to punch zombies replacing the melee. This punch is a one hit kill until round 12, but its main use is the fact it knocks zombies back a few feet. It's second effect is doubling the power and size of all explosives... pretty self explanatory.

Symbol: Orange fist on a blue background

Drink color: Dark blue, with orange bubbles in it (like soda)

Jingle: Rock with a hint of country

The box is unlike the other boxes seen so far. It is a large metal chest with heavy armor on it. These boxes are ones gathered from across the world by the government, and armored for protection, then bolted to the ground to attempt to stop them from leaving, but to no avail. Due to this the boxes will rather humorously break the floor and carry part of it with it when it disappears. That is how they are marked, a large rectangle piece or the floor is missing, with a question mark drawn in the dirt.

More details later i suppose

Edit: More descriptive version of the easter egg and what exactly is going on:

I made it pretty obvious Richtofen wants to return to the moon, but due to previous events the teleporter was relinked to the groom lake base (seen in background in moon) for easy access, unknowing its potential to bring them to the moon. While most of the scientists died earlier, one mysterious man is prominent in the map. Calling himself "Mr. X"

When everything crumbled and the base was compromised, Mr. X  escaped into the safe room, or black box room. A nearly indestructible vault containing enough food and water for 10 people for 20 years... However Mr. X selfishly escaped into the room, locking the door behind him, leaving his friends to die. (this can all be heard around a few radios scattered in the map) He intended to wait out the zombies, using the food and supplies to survive as long as it took. From the black box room, various controls are available. Including one to lock down the base, allowing nothing to get in.....and nothing to get out. This brings us to the easter egg. Unlike most others, this one is rather lacking in the supernatural. Being a simple mission to repair the towers that repel zombies, and getting Mr. X to open the doors once its safe.

Oddly enough, this easter egg is reminiscent of Mob of the deads plane "easter egg" with a true objective being revealed afterwords, getting the crew back to the moon.

Ending sequence after completing the egg:

The new four cheer and get into a very comfortable and posh looking capsule pod. Misty takes off her shoes and begins rubbing her feet. Marlton opens the flap on a circular window, revealing outer space. Griffin Station can be seen in the distance, lit up by neon lights and an air bubble, seemingly having gone through major repairs and redesigning. "Amazing..." Marlton says. "Do you really think its over?" Russman asks.. "Sure looks like it, and if it isn't...it's not our problem anymore" Misty answers while looking out the window at earth. The screen goes black and reappears at a very old looking house from a first person view. You see whoever you are looking through the eyes of is on the floor and was obviously passed out. The character gets up and walks around, grumbling in a rather familiar voice. Rubbing his face and looking into a mirror you see the man lower his hands revealing the face of the one and only, Tank Dempsey. "Where the hell am I?..." He turns to look at an old calender on the wall, with the words: June 6th, 1944...the camera pans to a window outside where a ripped french flag is blowing around, and sirens can be heard...then cuts to black.
