  1. Um...I don't think a crash course in Satanism was called for here, and tying all of that into zombies is REALLY stretching it. With that much info and something as generic as a cube, INNUMERABLE coincedences are possible.

How did we get to a biblical level?

This post isn't even a page long and we've gotten to discussing the origins of Satin instead of these clearly man-made/man-recreated dragons...

What I'm wondering is where these dragons went... After all they are DRAGONS they can't be easy to hide, and they've appeared to escape...

@tEfugleskremmel I'll breeze over the impending debate about the canon of scripture ;) and say that in the end, I agree. We are dealing with an undeniably secular storyline in which, other than one of the characters making a passing reference to their spiritual outlook (i.e., Groph, "God have mercy on us," or the references Takeo makes to his Eastern religion) it really has no place and has no impact on the story.

The New Testament retconned the fact that Satan is the serpent in Genesis. If you read Genesis, it is not actually at all Satan and it describes the snake as one of God's most cunning creatures. That was retconned in by a different writer, centuries later, so that in itself is an incorrect . Serpent=/=Satan. I have just got out of listening to a full analysis of the old testament, although that is not my faith, I still wanted to know what people believed. It is a misconception that had came about from incorrect interpretations and versions of the bible. Revelations itself is quite recent too and a lot of what is in it is still debated about, even among Christians. There is even an entity in there, that is supposed to start Armageddon, that some Christians believe is the Roman Catholic Church (I don't know much about that, I only heard it in passing), so as you can see, there is still a lot to be interpreted correctly from Revelations.

Hehe. The Protestants like to stretch that one a lot. ;) But good points. Just wanna clarify, Satan was an angel. He was created to shine a radiant light around God's throne, but he became egotistical and decided to try to take over heaven, and of course, was effortlessly defeated and cast down to earth where he would wait until his ultimate punishment. Here, he has been known to possess several forms, including the first being a serpent in the Garden of Eden. For its cooperation with Satan, the serpent was cursed and lost its legs so that it would be forced to slither in shame.

Satan himself, however, known very often for appearing as an incredibly beautiful and brilliant being, because that is what he was created as, despite the stereotypes of a horrendous-looking monster (which, of course, he has been known to shift to.)

I know people don't like the religious over tones but:

He's a creature, but a smart one. In the book of Revelation, Satan is called “the ancient serpent” (Revelation 12:9, 20:2), which refers to the snake in Genesis. So in the New Testament the snake is Satan.

I'm not outright agreeing with this, but you have to admit the fact that the Dragon's heads appear in the exact same fashion as Cerberus in MOTD.

    Just a thought.

The keepers dimension seems very hellish to me.

    Regards Alpha.

Has anyone been able to repeat this?

I'm afraid that's a stretch. The dragons are clearly animals with the traditional abilities of a dragon, which really aren't outside of the realm of scientific plausibility.

The pseudoscientific tendencies of this new map are HUGE, heavily reinforcing the stance (that I, personally, ascribe to) that pretty much everything we have encountered so far can be scientifically explained.

And trust me, I'm Catholic, I am very familiar with the names, history and nature of the devil. Yet despite that, the theory that he is involved in the story is still a stretch. Cthulhu, however? Despite my dislike for it, I can't deny that he has been heavily implied.

@Stop Mocking Me0 Good stuff. If there's one thing I might disagree on, it would be the relationship between the plane wrecks and the dragons. @BlindBusDrivr and I were discussing it, and he pointed out that the island appears heavily fortified with anti-aircraft weaponry, and the war in the air was quite intense in the Pacific. However, as someone else may have mentioned, what about a connection between the "beasts for your Eastern Front" described in the blackboard ciphers from DE, Gersh's cipher describing a city which he calls "home" and says is on fire, and the fact that dragons are fire-breathers. Hmmmmm....

@NaBrZHunter @Tac I urge both of you to check out this thread I made 3 years ago between Buried and Origins as I believe the research is done is very relevant to the current trend of the narrative. It's in regards to a book I discovered on the shelves in Buried called the Wheel of Life, which is based on real world spiritual mythology. Please check out the thread and the Wikipedia page on the subject as well, as I kept it short and tried to include the most relevant information at the time. I've actually recently revisited the topic, and so so much more of it has become relevant. Ties to the Aether, death, rebirth, power etc.

Same! Will look at this over lunch.

Xbox solidarity! I'm definitely not looking forward to Noah streaming "IT'S LIT, APOTHICAN SERVANT UPGRADE IN ZNS!!!!!!????!?????????!??DAB DAB DAB" videos, that's for sure. Already hating how smug he's been about being the only person in the world to complete the KT-4. Happy for the work he does for the community, but damn could he ever dial some of it back.

    Yes sir!

I agree, though. And while I don't have an issue with some folks getting some exclusive access (Milo, Spider, namely) this YouTuber favoritism is going too far. And I get what you're saying about Noah - sad but true. Like, c'mon, man, you've made the big time. Don't pull a Dalek and compromise your reputation.

  6. I would like for Keepers and crawlers to be related, but you make an excellent, quotable point.

It is to the point where this community assumes things are connected but don't look into it. Like Pareidolias that they don't check to be true or not.

This is chronic in the community, similar to what @tEfugleskremmel called "The Skywalker Effect."

    Quote

"...what I like to call the "Skywalker Effect". Where a new significant character MUST be a Skywalker. Despite the fact that in all of the known universe, with an infinite possibility of races and people, for every significant character to be related is absurd. This also diminishes the quality of the narrative, as it is incredibly lazy."

Great pics, good arguments, as is your style, NV.

@NaBrZHunter in fact, I did. And it was an excellent read! And I agree with you that the Aether is involved. I believe all of the visions we see as we teleport are of things within the Aether. However, I posit that while this is true, that the Aether itself does not directly influence or dictate the function of the MTDs. Rather that the MTDs are the physical facsimile Richtofen inadvertently created that mimics the function of the Rift. With my earlier theory of the Rift being the "doorways" to other universes/locations, I believe this to make the most sense. My evidence for this is the similarity in which the MTDs work with the Rift portals we see in Shadows.

@Tac I believe that quote was from @NaBrZHunter but I did expand on it myself. Otherwise, you'd have to ask him.

I gotcha now! Brilliant way of putting it! I never thought of it that way.

@Tac yeah, that was me. I meant that we know that the Aether is not a physical plane in the traditional sense, but seemingly more of a 4th-dimensional plane.

And the idea of people teleporting via the Aether or universe jumping via the Ather and Rifts, (temporary suspension) or becoming the controller of the MPD (semi-permanent conditional suspension) in all of these cases, time seems to speed up for us relative to them. In Kino, 18 years for us was a matter of seconds for the O4. In Origins -> The Giant, 25 years for us was a matter of seconds for the Origins 4, while Samantha, in the MPD for over 60 years, didn't seem to have aged a day.

Okay, then yes, I'm disappointed by this. It's really unfair. I mean, I understand the PS4 exclusivity, even if, as an XBox guy, I lose out. But that is SO unfair to the PS4 folks.

@NaBrZHunter these theories on time aren't necessarily affected by the existence of the multiverse. If there are an infinite number of universes with our characters existing in each, time, at its normal rate, should exist all the same across the board. We also need to keep in mind, that much of the early time travel, or travel in general, we experience in the storyline was the result of using the MTD's, which are separate from the influence of the Aether and those within it. This, to me at least, actually simplifies things a little as it doesn't involve something we don't fully have explanations on how it works. But I do think that the Aether is the realm between every universe that exists within its own time, as you added, where beings within it are in an almost suspended state of existence. The Rift(s) then is how we travel between the realms through the Aether which is where I imagine Maxis is trapped. Again, I believe time here is also in a stasis. While high concept, it's an elegant solution for how time, relativity and the multiverse work within the narrative.

Your note about the Rifts makes sense! I didn't think about it that way.

However, I do believe that the MTDs actually do make use of the Aether. Did you ever see my thesis on the Nature of the Aether?

@NaBrZHunter This has been the way I've been trying explain it. Thank you. Each time I feel like I'm saying it the way I picture it, I just loop back around to my original concept. Hmm, loops, ironic. I love the idea that events happening within maps are within their own pockets of time.

Another thought I've had, that I haven't seen explored is how time works relative to the Aether and those beyond the "Rift". Seeing as neither are described as physical planes, they may also not adhere to how time works in the physical realm. This too could be the reason for Maxis claiming he's been at it for decades. Kind of a reverse to the idea that the events on each map happen in pockets. Where a month/year on earth is like a decade in the Aether/Rift. This may also be why we don't see Samantha as having aged while in the MPD, as clearly time in there is not relative to how it works on our plane.

Ah, yes! Relativity! It's a beautiful thing. And agreed-the Pocket in Time Theory makes the story almost...more believable, too. At least, it would have, back in the universe days (as opposed to multiverse). It made it feel like the stuff really could have happened/could be happening in our world. We just can't see it because we're almost on a different frequency relative to spacetime than all our characters (with the exception of Peter, Pernell, ect).

Good to hear you observe that the Aether and 'beyond the Rift' may not be physical planes. We know for sure the Aether isn't, though we know precious little about Agartha and the Rift, the idea that persons in those realms are 'suspended' in spacetime so that it passes much slower for them makes sense. Hence the use of the word 'Cryogenic' Slumber Party, since, as she has been suspended in spacetime, relative to us it almost seems as if she is frozen. Holy shyte, am I being dense, Tac, or did you already observe that for your Welteis theory?

  11. @Tac Other than BO2/Moon/Shang, it's good to see things falling into an ordered timeline of sorts, with The Giant, Der Eisendrache, Zetsubou No Shima and Shadows of Evil all landing around 1945 helps support the theory that all things in this universe follow the original universe very closely.

Now, while I'm not entirely sure what I think about it now, I loved the pocket in time theories that explained activities taking place at some of these locations in such a way that the rest of the physical universe wouldn't know, so that, for instance, the original escape at Der Riese was stuck inside of a 3-second pocket of time relative to us, while for the O4, it could have seemed like 30 minutes to an hour.

Not this dramatically, I'm afraid. This suggests that a small Japanese cruiser that burned and sank in the Pacific Ocean was the same vessel as the massive German freighter which wrecked on but did not sink beneath the ice on the Arctic coast of Russia.

By saying that what's offending me.

    IS justified.

    Because I suck.

    Wow.

My posts are rushed.... Poorly executed.. Messy... I'm not trying to be the best... I'm trying to get people talking, because up til someone else mentions it... There is nothing...

You state it right there. "THIS IS A COMMUNITY, I SUGGEST YOU LEARN TO RESPECT THE REST OF THE MEMBERS IN YOUR ACTIONS AND ATTITUDE. " So am I just not part of this community?

I'm done NaBrHunter.... I'm just done....

I never said you suck, as it is not a practice of mine to resort to crass and mindless insults. I did, however, say what you quoted, that the effort you put into them is lacking. Yes, you are a part of this community. And I realize the sarcasm of my first comment was brash, and not respectful, for that, I apologize. However, the details I listed remain true, and stating fact may be hard to take, but is not disrespectful, in fact, is known as 'constructive criticism.' You need not race folks out here. Take your time, do heavy research and provide quotes, images and various other evidence to support your ideas and my accusations will be invalidated. That's all I'm saying and I will say nothing more.

  14. @Stop Mocking Me0 @tEfugleskremmel Was more respectful to you than he needed to be. You completely overlooked that. And as has been pointed out, it would have taken NO time at all to find CotD footage on YT or Google Images, not to mention you could have at least gotten screenshots. The lack of effort you put into posts like this is far below the caliber CoDZ is known for.  You try to race other folks (yes, you have openly admitted this) to posting topics on new developments, and as a result, they are rushed, poorly constructed, containing limited explanation, no images for reference and overall, messy. If you want an example of how to build a thread, I suggest you ask Tac, Dopplegänger, or really most other site vets for advice on how to make a quality one.

This is a community. I suggest you learn to respect the rest of the members in your actions and attitude (including quitting post-pumping), otherwise, your reputation will continue down the path it's on.

Just some advice from one of your tired fellow members.

You know that Verruct, Nacht, and Der reise are based on MP maps right? And Campaign maps? Nacht is Airfield, Verruct is Asylum, and Der Reise is Night fire. So... They've always been in the same boat...

And who are you to judge if they're fun to play or not? I'd personally think it'd be great to Ruin-smash someone after being flung by a wondersphere.

They were not replicas of those maps, just based off them. I played WAW MP. They were modified for Zombies.

I am a CoD player, that's who I am. Good luck getting anyone out of the clock tower, the Mule Kick room, the rocket area, etc. locking the area down completely would be as simple as dropping C4 and trip mines in the teleporter and landing pad and settling in.

But I won't argue any further. Point is, modifications would need to be made. And regardless of if Zombies maps have related to MP maps in the past, they weren't the same places.

  16. I think maybe they also caught the moon rockets from Big Bang Theory before impact and shipped them to Der Eisendrache on that boat after it sank and then teleported it to Buried and that's how it got to Call of the Dead.

  17. 9 minutes ago, Stop Mocking Me0 said:

I see you've jumped from the giant to Der Eisendrache, could it be because you might have finally gotten what I've been saying? If so, good. That's progress. See? Capital letters DO help.

    But again, no it wouldn't.

Remove the Der Eisendrache pieces of the map and what do you have? No pack-a-punch. We're not discussing how it would line up in the story, we're discussing if you removed the feature from the map. Because, again, we're discussing MAP MECHANICS not STORY-LINE.  If we were, I'd agree with you that the PAP would be here and ready to use. But we aren't.

Hold your horses, pardner. Yer like a bull in a china closet. If there were no zombies or explosive items in the game and fall damage couldn't hurt you, then you couldn't lose the game. Also, if the zombies couldn't move, then the game would be a lot easier, and if there were no ground textures and barriers you would keep falling forever. And if there was no mainframe teleporter, but there was a pack-a-punch, yes, it would be interactable. And actually, in DE, there are technically 3 pack-a-punches; you just cannot access them because the script dictates you cannot. If there was no such script, they would all be accessible. Get the point? Don't make me use capital letters. ;)

some people beleive that every living animal has a soul though thats why its called what its called it culturaly accepted (by most not all)

And all of a sudden the EE songs sound cheesy because, hey, it could be about a monkey or a rat as well as the zombies.

Point being, it trivializes a profound part of the story, IMO. I'm not denying that it may be completely retconned, but Black Ops 1 & 2 actually overly emphasized the fact that it was 'life force' (ref: Moon) or 'energy' (Buried), while even Origins continued that legacy (Richtofen) with the only exception being Takeo, who is clearly a religious and spiritually inclined individual, referring to the scientific phenomena in the way you would expect a non-scientific Buddhist or Hindu to do.

I would like to see the direct quote from Richtofen, however, saying it is a soul canister.

See, the difference between a 'soul' and 'life force' is that a soul generally implies specificity; uniqueness, containing ones' own personality and being. The kind of essence that has interminable cognizance. The existence of souls in humans in the CODZ universe is canon, and rather poignant, as we see instances of them being trapped inside their zombified bodies, begging for freedom (death - The One, SNN), or in the case of individuals who, after death, enter a form of Purgatory (the inmates - MotD).

However, life force - living energy is inherent, and undeniable in all beings. It is general, non-specific, and is known to have kinetic influence in real-world application. The use of as a power source makes more sense and is more scientifically established than the use of 'souls.'
