Easter egg Glitch?

While me and my friends where doing the easter egg one of our staffs had vanished.None of our teammates had the electric staff i looked up on YouTube and the relaxing end had this happen to him if anyone knows of this reply below.

exact same thing here! me and my friends tried to complete the easter egg at least 7 times but the staffs vanished or were not able to be picked up (at least 2 of them)

Yes, this is a rather common issue with Origins, and unfortunately will never be fixed (Thanks Treyarch!). It happens when a player handles a staff built by another player or when they go down with a staff and bleed out. It only seems to affect upgraded staffs.

 

There is a known fix though. If playing a 4 player game, only have the person who builds a staff handle that one staff. You cannot build more than one either unless you are playing with less than 4 players. Basically the minute a person touches a staff they did not build then you risk losing one of them.

 

This means you cannot swap staffs around with a team-mate or you will lose a staff permanently if you trade it out or die with it.

It comes from interchanging staffs as well, trayarch added this as a buffer to keep people from obtaining multiple staffs. 

 

The two best solutions: 

-NEVER swap staffs with another staff, keep to your staff only. 

- If you do need to acquire another person's staff, purchase a weapon off the wall first to swap out your staff for a regular gun, should keep the staffs from vanishing. 

 

 

But for zen's reasons, you should never even bother with another's staff.

I found that by swapping a staff for a wall weapon, it would send the staff back to excavation but would not bring up the command string to pick it back up again rendering it lost so I would not recommend doing that to be honest.
