I'm sure this would have been found before, but I've searched the depths of the forums & couldn't find a post on this but here is a cool site that has so many meaningful patterns & also lead me to find this.

I know there's been discussion here and there about real-life Vrill Devices. Shooter and I, among others, have covered aspects of it. Most of it is posted in obscure threads, which is why you probably didn't find anything in your search. But I don't believe anyone here has yet introduced the connection with 'Vajra' being another name for the same thing. Reading the wikipedia link you provided, the connection has been made even more clear to me on the Golden Rod's place within the grand scheme of the zombie story arc.
