George A. Romero was NOT Looking for CoTD

Hey guys, I just wanted to make this quick thread about a common misconception. That misconception is that George A. Romero and the crew were looking for Call of the Dead. This is false. In the ending cut scene, he states that he discovered documents years ago. Using common sense, that would be the reason they went on the ship. Now many people believe that he went straight for Call of the Dead, he was actually looking for the Tunguska Meteor Event. Now many of you are saying, "Where could he get that silly notion?" Well, on the IMBd Plot Summary when it first came out (For god knows what reason, they changed it), it says:

On the hunt for the origins of the enigmatic Element 115, they head for the site of an ancient meteorite impact crater but their ship mysteriously runs aground.

So as you see, Treyarch said they were searching for 115 based off of documents Romero found, and were trying to film a movie. Feel free to comment on whether you agree/disagree. :D

sounds pretty good, so they were trying to connect the story with real life?

Yeah they've done it all the time. Der Riese is a real life place, they have Tunguska written in Shi No Numa, it's in the Terminal, it's in the SNN radio, it's everywhere!

but....weren't they doing a movie there?

Yes, but they were planning on making a movie for Tunguska and crashed, so they made it there after they found all the 935 stuff.

I will say that the crew's ship is not the ship that we get to run around on...

For a start it is way to old & busted up...

They must have another smaller vessel nearby that ran a ground, as they for some strange reason are using a ship to find an impact site? Which is in land is it not?

Why would you hire a ship if your looking for Tunguska?

I think if they were on their way to Tunguska & beached on the coast where the COTD ship had the samething happen to it. The crew would perhaps be making the best of the situation.

Filming on location as they travelled, this is common in the film industry.

However did George beach them there on purpose is becoming the question.

Maybe George took his love of zombies that one step to far:

Necromancy (/ˈnɛkrɵˌmænsi/) is a claimed form of magic involving communication with the deceased – either by summoning their spirit as an apparition or raising them bodily – for the purpose of divination, imparting the means to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge. The term may sometimes be used in a more general sense to refer to black magic or witchcraft.

The word "necromancy" derives from the Ancient Greek νεκρός (nekrós), "dead body", and μαντεία (manteía), "prophecy or divination". The compound form νεκρομαντεία is itself post-classical, first used by Origen of Alexandria in the 3rd century CE. The classical Greek term is ἡ νέκυια (nekyia), νεκυιομαντεία in Hellenistic Greek, rendered as necyomantia in Latin, and as necyomancy in 17th century English.

In Renaissance magic, necromancy – or, as it was frequently called during that period, nigromancy – was classified foremost among seven "forbidden arts"

Crazy shit just like George said.

Regards Alpha.
