Major "Discovery" Easter Eggs (NEW)

You might have seen a previous topic regarding possible Easter Eggs in Discovery but those threads did not have much weight behind them and got lost in the speculation concerning "Ascension".

So I took the chance to do some further research and the results are posted here for you. The following information at least in my eyes is quite compelling evidence to support the theory that there is far more to "Discovery" than we may have realised.

All the source material is from official sources such as Microsoft or Treyarch and all links for sources will be provided for you to check my work and hopefully add to it yourselves.

First off we will start with the description for the map that was released in “First Strike”.

“Discovery”

The sources used to compile this information are as follows

CoD HQ for the Screenshots

Call of Duty Official Youtube Channel for the three “First Strike” related videos

For any other comparison screenshots I have used the theatre mode on my account, I will note where each image is taken from if it is not self-explanatory.

So without further ado let’s begin in earnest, the image below is taken from CoD HQ and you can see I have highlighted an area with a blue and red box. Within the blue box can be seen a device that is shown many times during the “First Strike” trailers but cannot be found on the actual map during gameplay. In fact this device is not always present in the videos or screenshots.

As a comparison you can clearly see below from another CoD HQ screenshot that the device cannot be seen in this shot, this would indicate that it might be activated by a trigger.

The next screenshot is also from CoD HQ and shows that the lights on top of Building 4 are lit up brightly with blue light; again this feature is not seen during gameplay on the map as far as I am aware and I have included a short video to demonstrate this. So as with above, below we can see that there might be a trigger involved with activating this blue light.

A short video as comparison.

The next image is also an CoD HQ screenshot, this image shows that the background of the level clearly has some raised features such as a cliff. If you note the position of the raised red/ white tank within the red box I have added and then check its position on the comparison image I have taken in theatre, you should be able to see a considerable difference in the geometry of the map we play on and the one shown in the screenshot.

This is a comparison screenshot from my theatre for the image above.

This next one is a bit harder to spot and I would encourage you to watch the video for yourselves. This image is taken from the “First Strike” teaser trailer.

The image shows what appear to be two unidentified objects travelling from outside the map area at height over the map itself.

Here are two further screenshots from that same video, one showing the device in the antenna base and another from the same video again where the device does not appear.

All the following screenshots are taken from the “First Strike” Trailer that was made for “Xbox”.

They all demonstrate that the map we are playing might be changed through the use of “trigger events”

So what I have posted above is pretty much all I could find from looking at the videos and screenshots for “Discovery”, so below I will post a few select screenshots from my theatre and a couple of textures from the PC files which are re-used in “Discovery”.

The above two images are textures from the PC files. The following images are from my theatre.

Don’t drink and Dive

This is in the building across from 34, it looks like something was caged and escaped !

This is another shot of the above room from outside of it.

Some papers on the floor of building 34.

The rest of these images are comparisons from my theatre for those who don’t yet have first strike and are just for general interest.

This last image is from campaign Intel for “Project Nova” and might or might not be relevant, I thought I should include it as not to rule anything out.

So that’s it, for now. If you think I might be on to something I encourage you to check out the resources yourself. You might Chance upon a Trigger that I have not seen or posted about. 8-)

If you stayed with me this far, thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed. Dont forget to reply with your thoughts. If you are having problems viewing this topic due to screen size, let me know and I will resize the images.

I saw somewhere else about a switch from Der Riese in a building, so is it possible that you can activate the switch?

Yes there is a power switch but I do not know if it is a trigger for something larger. Going from previous Eggs such as Nuketown, I would expect this Egg to have to involve a full lobby. It might even tie into other MP levels, though I have no idea how this Egg could be accessed.
