Thanks for not having a public beta for the PC version........I mean who needs a beta....... Why would you want to find out that the PC version drains your system resources and has PC's CPU's running at 100%....... Why would you want to find out that SP runs like shyte...... (and before you say its my machine, I have plenty of horsepower under the hood)....... is anyone here having these same issues........sorry to rant.......Just pissed off that i have purchased a broken game, that has been overly hyped.....and in the end it runs like shizz.... and i dont even want to start on the MP issues.....LAG!!!!.... even with everyone having low ping.....ugh..... I miss the days of when games were created for the PC and then ported over to consoles.... not the other way around......I'm getting old........

On my Xbox 360....i have heard about the problem of the game freezing up alot and other things are you running your game disk on a PC?

Number #1) No I am not running the game disk on a PC

Number #2) I dont have a game disk, as i downloaded the game off of Steam

Number #3) I am playing on a PC, not a Xbox 360

On a lighter note, I am happy to hear it is running fine for you Xbox 360 console gents.....PC is a different story....Its sad that right out of the gate the game needs to be patched in order for it to just work..... not like little gameplay glitches here and there, but i mean run....work..... get my money's worth on a game that has had such a huge level of anticipation.....

Do you understand the concept of software hardware conflicts

Not everyone is having problems do you think the cpu was running at 100% when testing at treyarch

CPU address issues are common in pc games

Just having an up to spec machine doesnt mean you wont have problems and some things treyarch will fix and sometimes its down to your hardware config or OS etc

There is an issue with a mem leak and they are working on a patch now

Personally i would try diagnose the problem myself and check that there is no known issues with the hardware config and find out things like GFX DRV performance

E.g Someone has same gfx card or driver SF but different cpu so there playing with no mem leak and lag but there might be a gfx conflict

Even when you have no conflicts All platform servers will take a while to stat and optimise but that cant really start till everything settles down

And Black ops is a multiplatform game not a dedicated PC game

The PC would have been there testground and then all main platforms where developed together so they take the raw data such as motion capture sound etc etc and intergrate into each platform

It is true that consoles are outdated and there life has been extended for obvious reasons

So the standard for the PC is slightly shelfed on a multiplatform game

Saying that COD BO is stunning audio and visual on the 360

People are complaining about visual quality in multiplayer comparing to MW2 dont understand that BO has more background content running with all the features and ssc and no one mentions theater

WAW was epic but it did animation lag (Better since Dash update) and loading was not exactly seamless but it was a great game

BO is different its more clean cut and i think the SP style of playing has changed with the new AI talking AI dont forget Combat training the online training sim how cool is that i dont even need to talk about zombies and theres the terminal

The fact is there working on issues on all platforms

All these issues are expected

And a isp network overload

It is much harder to make a game that runs "perfectly" on all computers since there are thousands of different hardware configurations you could be playing on. As for a console, it's pretty damn easy to optimize a game for it since its baseline specs are consistent.

It is also much harder to predict just how much of an impact several million people suddenly appearing on a server can have. MMO launches have the same exact problem.

It sucks that our PC brothers have to put up with this lag, but you gotta know that this isn't forever. I guarantee you Treyarch is working on this and will have a patch out as soon as they can.

On the MP server issue, Im crystal.....I understand how it works, I get there are going to be lag issues, but there are other issues besides the severe lag, for instance, some of the data when you are ranking up doesnt get saved, IE i rank up and unlock new weapons, features, etc etc etc, and when i hit create a class, it aint there. This has happened twice already, and reading the call of duty HQ forums, I am not the only one that this is happening to, Also there is no way, other than having a friend invite you,to get on a specific server IE i cannot enter the IP address of the server i wanna play on......now all that aside, the bigger frustration is playing campaign and solo zombies, and having the gameplay get all choppy and laggy, and I start watching the FPS count drop absurdly low.......In Zombies, when i get to the theater part with the teleporter and all hell is breaking loose, the game starts hiccuping, bad. Now i have a 2.93 GHZ i7...a Nvidia GTX 285....12 GB of DDR3 corsair dominators with the heat sink fans.... the game is installed on a 600 GB raptor....Everything is working fine..... I think its safe to say i meet the requirements of the game......and thats whats the major bummer......In the words of Bill and Ted....BOGUS!!!... But its because all games now are basically console games and then ported over to PC, whereas before, you would have gotten a FPS on PC first and then it would have been ported over to the consoles.....Now, lemme clear up what i just said, i dont care if PC gets a game first, or if the consoles get the games first, i would just like to play a game right out of the box that isnt broken and has been properly tested, lemme re-iterate, I know that all games no matter how much testing has been done, are still gonna have a few minor glitches and bugs, but to have the game be barely playable at best, thats the gripe.......Guys, sorry for the whine, but i just think that my 60 dollars should grant me a enjoyable gameplay experience like everyone else, If Im wrong i guess that makes me an asshole, but I've always been good at that, just ask the wife....I wonder if Activision/Treyarch is gonna charge us for the patch to fix the game.....(*note - Sarcasm has been utilized)

oh yeah.....for subzero....I got a wii, xbox 360, and a ps3.......i havent touched em in a long time......I just have never like playing first person shooters with joysticks.....like i said.....Im getting old and ornery(sp?) with age.......I think my posting may be getting old (thought I'd beat you guys to the punch) Ta Ta
