  1. Now, as phenomenal as this teaser campaign has been, none of the info we've had (other than the reference to the 2025 drone attacks) has shown any link to previous games in the Black Ops series. It seems, as of now, that the game could have had a different title entirely. I made this forum because I'm interested in seeing what everyone thinks the link to the other games will be, and if anybody thinks the old characters will influence the new ones in some form. Perhaps we'll get some connection at the reveal Sunday, but who knows..
  2. Welcome to the site. That's an interesting thought about meteors, but I'm too tired to really get into it right now. LONG day of leaks and info... And please, @MrRoflWaffles is EVERYONE'S hero!
  3. Honestly... I can't explain how much I love everyone at Treyarch for doing this. From the snaps, to "The Unmarked Man", to basically a novel that sets up the storyline and ties every little hint together... We even got a callback to GKNOVA6 with BLUEBIRD. I've never seen a more unique and deep way to build excitement, and we still have over 6 months to go!
  4. I'm gonna be completely honest: I don't think the Unmarked Man is Hudson at all. Just because the figure has rolled up sleeves doesn't mean anything, as Richtofen had the same in Origins. It's also impossible for him to have ever had augmentations or had memories implanted in him, as we know both where he was, and constantly saw him up to his death. I'm not saying he's not involved at all, because he is an integral part in what happened with Mason. This just seems more like Resnov, with the way he wants people to listen to the sound of his voice instead. I definitely think it's campaign related... But the unmarked man is a much for fitting title for "the wolf" ... And we really know nothing. It could be a new character, or may not even be an actual character at all. We'll get a few more teasers before and after the big reveal Sunday, so let's focus on what we know/have pieces of already.
  5. @InfestLithium This sounds A LOT like what Resnov did with Mason's brainwashing. Perhaps Salim used the same technology, and it will be tampered with like in Black Ops 1. And this is probably nothing, but it looks like something, maybe a bullet, is going through the bottom of the brain/skull in the "Unmarked Man" banner scan. Who knows, could be a reference to Mason assassinating JFK, or it could show that they are testing on people already scarred by war. Very excited about getting a new website, though!
  6. Definitely a possibility. The quote from Woods, "they'll always need men like us.", backs your theory up. The main character is almost obviously going to fight off the brainwashing/memory transfer, similar to Alex Mason. And what if the new character got Mason's memories and started to think they were his own? The tagline "How Far are we willing to go?" makes even more sense now. Whoever is in charge is making completely controllable, dangerous soldiers who can't think for themselves.
  7. Wow, that was disappointingly easy. Does 514 mean anything to us? just noticed I was supposed to say 5 10 4 my bad Well, in fact it is the number 54. That's how their numeric system works. And if you wondered what that Chinese number 54 in the Black Ops 3 Teaser trailer could mean : No death ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numbers_in_Chinese_culture#Five_2 Interesting theory, but aren't the numbers Japanese not Chinese...? I googled and compared the two systems, and they seem pretty much identical to my eyes. I'm far from any expert though. My guess is that they are chinese, in that case "no death" would be pretty interesting actually. Referring to the undead, zombies? When I hear "no death", I immediately think of Alex Mason surviving the incident in Black Ops 2, or even Resnov. That's just me, though... Great catch, by the way!
  8. And then the terrorist who extracts the information begins to think Mason's memories are his own, and Alex Mason is basically reincarnated in the far future lol Seriously, though, you've come up with another really interesting theory here. There's so many different ways this story can go, and we only have a few weeks left until we finally know for sure!
  9. @PINNAZ The post apocalyptic idea has been talked about over the years and I was thinking the same thing. If all the technology backfires, or a natural extiction event occurs, then it'd be pretty interesting to see small groups of whatever militaries still exist fighting for survival, and what the augmentations do exactly.
  10. @WillyWonka It's definitely plausable. We should all keep that in mind until the official reveal. It could be just a reference to the song, but they could have used this tagline for Black Ops 2 as well, and they didn't.. There wouldn't be a need for the Black Ops 1 quotes if this game is entirely in the future, so part of it has to at least be in the past. Or this is the biggest troll ever, and they'll just announce World at War 2 on the 26th lol
  11. Excellent post, man. I hoped Black Ops 2 would do something like this. Any guesses on what you think we'd see? My guesses: Past: Option 1: We play the JFK assassination. It's almost certain that Mason killed, or was at least involved in the event. Option 2: The Second Cold War/Op: Charybdis. The 5 year gap (roughly) where Mason re-enlisted for an unknown reason Present: Only Option I can see: 9/11 and the war on terror. At the time the planes hit, David Mason was 22. This can be why he enlisted. He could eventually end up in SEAL Team 6, and his action's during the raid on Osama's compound can be how he was a SEAL leader in Black Ops 2. Future: Option 1: Occurs if Menendez is killed, and the message that plays after his death sparks a rebirth of Cordis Die. Option 2: The far future. Human augmentation and advanced technology has led to a complete change in society. Could lead to questions regarding the danger of where humanity is at, or this technology could be taken away, causing the future society to collapse or adapt.
  12. This cover art is really interesting... The character is sitting in the same position as in the Black Ops cover art.
  13. Here are two pictures of Evelyn Cross that were sen to CIA operative Hudson by John Trent aka Reznov: As you can see on the second picture she is being brainwashed by the Russians. And the resemblance to the numbers lady is obvious: Also check that desk. The book there is Profiles in Courage by no other than JFK himself: Now lets get back to the other e-mails in the Black Ops terminal: So here we come to the point what suggest that John Trent is Reznov. "Victory cannot be achieved without sacrifice" is quote which Reznov told to Mason when they escaped the Vorkuta prison. These messages are sent to CIA operative Jason Hudson: "Everything changes on Friday." From that date on next Friday JFK was killed. Message from one day before the assassination. Directly states the escaping from Vorkuta and that one of them was Mason. The other one just died. Referensing to himself as CIA though Reznov was killed. This is what Hudson said to Mason when they irrogated him: So in that email Reznov is telling Hudson that he did not die in Vorkuta and is alive as well as warns him about the other sleeper agents that are "everywhere". 3 days after assassination. Image of Evelyn Cross was in this email. So here Reznov gave the identity of numbers lady to Hudson. Few years later came this e-mail. I'm sure I don't need to explain this one n There are also e-mail from a third guy called Mr. X. He sent two emails directly to Mason. Clarke was the scientists who helped to weaponize Nova 6 that Steiner created with the help of other scientist from the Russian Ascension Group. For some reason Mr. X recommend Mason to seek Clarkes brother in South Africa. Mr. X tells the location of Frank Woods to Mason. Hanoi Hilton was notorious POW prison in Vietnam where many of the captured American soldiers were tortured. Hanoi Hilton Intel document. Then there is the ending of Black Ops: The day of Kennedys assassination, Evelyn Cross starts his number broadcast. Mason says: the date when JFK was killed, Texas, caliber of the gun that killed JFK and Ascension. And we know from before that Mason was brainwashed to kill JFK but it was prevented earlier because Reznov had added the other agenda of killing Steiner and Dragovich in his head. Now that he had those goals completed what was left? The original agenda of course which was to kill JFK. ---------------------------- Now why the whole Operation Charybdis doesn't make sense when we look at the events of Black Ops II? Well Hudson has been working for the CIA the whole time and after Woods was rescued from Hanoi Hilton he was also working for CIA by doing operations in Angola. Mason had retired and moved to Alaska. They definetely wouldn't be working for CIA during the time the missions take place in Black Ops II if CIA though they were liability and tried to kill them together with the MI6. It's safe to say this Operation was never conducted in the actual story arc but simply CIA had planned such operation before they saw that they were actually no risk and that they needed them. This is phenomenal thinking. You pieced so much together, and the alias of John Trent makes so much sense. I completely agree, and now that we know it's Black Ops 3 I can't wait. The quotes all sound like they come from Alex's memories, but what would they cover? The game description says it takes place in the future, so why are they mixing quotes from Alex's life in? Treyarch can't even announce a game without confusing me
  14. http://www.callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Operation_Charybdis If it's taken down again, than it wasn't me being an idiot and deleting it This is really interesting though, specifically the quote from Black Ops 2, the unknown ending to the mission and Mason's sanity.
  15. Not sure if it's a rule breach, I'm also fairly new here! I may have just deleted it by mistake, though.
  16. It occurred around September 5th, 1986. Mason even says that he believed it was actually Reznov who saved them, despite Woods thinking otherwise. Yep. Woods knows nothing more than what Hudson told him, though, and Hudson didn't question the CIA until right before Charybdis... And Knowing that Weaver isn't seen again after this event? It makes things even more interesting.
  17. Once again, with the snowy area surrounding the house. The only thing I can think of is how Alex Mason lived in Alaska... Maybe Trollarch is just screwing with us They may not be screwing with us, though. That's a good point. That could be a giveaway. On the snap from earlier, with the wolf.... Upon loading up the mission "Project Nova" from Black Ops 1, before the text is blacked out it says that Resnov's last known alias was "The Wolf"... I don't know if this is a hint to check the mission, or that Resnov is alive, or what... but that's the only thing that makes sense to me. That whole snapchat served no purpose at 4 seconds long, unless there is something everyone is missing. A metaphor for Resnov fending off his enemies? Who knows Or maybe just for him hiding out. I've gotta check that out! Brilliant, dude! It's true, Reznov is that driving force; that motivational spirit behind WAW as well as BO1. What was the timeframe when Reznov rescued Alex and Woods, etc, from the desert in BO2? Resnov appeared in 1986 when he supposedly saved them. He would be in his early 70s, which isn't too much of a stretch considering Alex was 92 when he re-united with David The main point is that, if Resnov was alive, then that may be who they went after in Operation Charybdis. And if the CIA were somehow part of the covering-up of his death? Mason, Hudson and Weaver would become major liabilities if they found out...
  18. I saw a volcano erupting, and a nuclear explosion along with the cabin... Now I'm thinking back to where there were rumors of a post-apocalyptic COD a few years back. MrDalekJD just made a great point in his video on it, though. That blue moon photo from earlier is a screenshot of an event occuring after a volcano erupts, so the eruption is definitely significant.

  20. I bet these flies, are inside that house - Mix Makes sense. Going by that, the house is probably not being well taken care of.
  21. Once again, with the snowy area surrounding the house. The only thing I can think of is how Alex Mason lived in Alaska... Maybe Trollarch is just screwing with us
  22. No, that makes complete sense. These snapchats have seemingly no connection with the future, either. It's looking a lot like an opportunity to fill in the blanks and cover Operation Charybdis or to move away from Black Ops, and either way I'm super excited, It looks like we're going back into history, which I love. It makes sense on the 3 year development cycle, with Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer covering the present and future, respectively.
  23. Resnov has been the link between every Treyarch Call of Duty, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't show up again. Woods made the point that Mason saw him die, but he clearly survived. Why couldn't the same happen with Resnov? There is no proof of a body, only Hudson telling Mason and Woods that Resnov was killed, which may have just been an attempt to keep Mason focused. We don't know who they were after on Operation Charybdis, but Resnov is a possibility, even if it is an unlikely one...
  24. Was looking at this the other day too. He has direct links to Cuba. Though he doesn't seem shady. Salim Ahmed Salim • Deputy Chief Representative of the Zanzibar Office based in Havana, Cuba 1961–1962 • Tanzania Ambassador to Cuba 1970–1980 (served while at the UN) http://www.businesstimes.co.tz/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3930:why-did-che-guevara-come-secretly-in-tanzania-i&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=57 "The Argentinean revolutionary and hero of the Cuban revolution, Ernesto “Che” Guevara, spent over four months in Tanzania between 1965 and 1966. Che spent time with Salim Ahmed Salim and his family in Zanzibar. Salim was Tanzania’s Ambassador to Egypt from 1964 to 1965. Salim invited Che to his house for a meal. Salim’s wife, Amne Ahmed, prepared a meal for the renowned revolutionary. Che and Salim spent several hours discussing the Cuban revolution and the strength of the liberation movements in Africa." Amazing. Everybody on these forums, aside from myself, is literally a genius And you're right, there isn't anything particularly shady about him. His name may just be a hint at the time period, and the person speaking in these videos is probably somebody entirely different.
  25. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that we may be presuming the full emblem-there just appear to be no ties (and I can't imagine why there would be) to Watermans Applied Science; and obviously, a Trademarked logo would probably be avoided as much as possible. I stole-and all creds to @LiamFTWinter's-remake of the emblem for an example modification. I'm thinking there's something in the space below the trident that they aren't ready for us to see, hence, the placement being right behind the tree, effectively blocking that whole area. Maybe I'm wrong. I just think Waterman is a red herring, though @blackfire561 did a great job of identifying the design so quickly. Yeah, I'm beginning to think it's just a red herring myself. I haven't thought about a piece of the logo not showing, but it makes a lot of sense, Anything could go in that space, too. It could be as obvious as the title "black ops" with the trident's points making the 3, or it could be the game's main faction. Either way, you've definitely got a good point!
